What do you think of Johnny Depp? To me I LOVE HIM! He rocks and i think he is such a brilliant actor, and he seems like he'd be an awesoem person to meet! He rocks!

I think that he is an amazing actor, PoTC is one of my favorite movies!!! I can quote almost the whole thing ! He really made the movie, but the movie is a good movie besides him too. It doesn't hurt to have my other favorite actor, Orlando Bloom too ~.0 . They are the only too I really obsess over.


Also, I love how he plays roles like that - crazy ones. Which is why I believe he is going to do great as Wonka. He's just crazy enough!

I think he's really hot too, even though he is older. How old is he anyhow? Well, I'm 21 (well almost) so it's not too horrible. Hehehe...and at least my dad is older. He's 56.

Did you guys know he was a musician before he was an actor? Yup! He had his own band and they weren't doing so good so he took a few really easy roles to get some money (man, that sounds bad) and his friends were like 'you should keep doing this'. So he did. Haha.

I have an amazing poster of that picture of him playing the piano, smoking, and wearing that hat. *sigh* Wonderful pic, that is.

I'm buying and looking at all his movies since last year. I went to see POTC for Orly, but I came out of the theater as a Johnny Depp fan! =D

1. Once Upon A Time In Mexico - He's really cool in that movie!!
2. POTC - I don't have words for his performance as CJS
3. The Ninth Gate - Very interesting movie, but the end sucks. He has s*x with 2 different women in that movie! Lucky women!
4. Secret Window - Magnificent movie! He's just himself for a great deal and oh boy, is he cute!

But I've seen a lot more:
1. Crybaby - I can't really remember much about this movie, it was a long time ago but I remember me that his outfit was ridiculous!
2. From Hell - About Jack the Ripper, magnificent movie this one, I'm planning on buying this one as well, he's very cute there. and the girl who he kisses with is named Mary Kelly (my name is Kelly) =)
3. Chocolat - No words for this one =)
4. Sleepy Hollow - In the beginning I thought he wasn't cute but when I got to the end, my thoughts changed =) very funny that movie
5. Edwards Scissorhands
6. What's Eating Gilberts Grape
7. The Astronauts Wife

He's my favorite actor. So I love him. He's such a versatile actor. You can place him anywhere. He can be on drama, suspense/horror/thriller/, comedy, action... name it!

yeah he's really original too, with the personality he brings to certain parts. he's really inspirational too, being such a caring father and partner too. he was engaged like nine times or somthing you know? does anyone know who to? kate moss was one, and i think winona ryder might have been too.

I'm going to sound so much like a little fangirl right now thats its going to be completely awful, but... bear with me.

Johnny Depp is always very outgoing on film, and picks the most quirky/strange/out of the box characters to play, and thats such a great contrast to the man in real life, because out of the interviews I've seen, read or heard of, he's always very reserved and soft spoken. I like that he hasn't turned into some ego maniac just because "Pirates" made him the most sought after actor in Hollywood (although he almost always lives in France with his family) not to mention a 20 million dollar a movie actor. He just seems extremely down to earth, and funny, and wise. I really like him as an actor. I've probably said a million times that Edward Scissorhands is my favorite movie, and I read a quote and he said something along the lines of "It's almost a letdown to look in the mirror anymore and realize that I'm not Edward." just... aww.

I think he's genius at what he does. He seems to have such a passion for his work and brings a kind of humor to all his characters that's very endearing. Jack Sparrow, what can you say that hasn't already been said, so much of Jack is from Jonny. Never in the original sript is the word "savvy"!

I love it how in every movie he's different, but you still sense the johnnydeppiness

I had a Johnny Depp calender last year, and the year before, and the year before that. This year I have a POTC 2 one and ofcourse it's February and it's....Orlando Bloom, don't get me wrong I mean Orlandos cute in a ....cutish sort of way but he's not Johnny Depp is he. I checked June my birthday and Johnny's by the way and it's......Davy Jones...yuk!! Thanks for the gift hubby, but next year I'll go back to my usual plain old JD calender.

I have pretty much all of his movies on DVD even the quirky ones. One of my favourites is called Don Juan de Marco, phew! He was mighty good in that....quirky but good. I loved Benny and Joon as well, but I think his best performances have come from films like Finding Neverland and Once upon a time in Mexico and Chocolat. I am really looking forward to POTC.At Worlds End, Sweeney Todd (with Alan Rickman) Shantaram and The Rum Diary, a role which is as far away from Jack Sparrow as you could possibly get.

yeah, johnny depp is the king alright, his acting is just so.....versitile and unique. and he is very cute as well especially pirates of the caribean (very hot). lol, but when i saw him in charlie and the chococlate factory i was like "WTF, that can't be johnny depp, he looks so...quirky", but then i got over it, although i do admit that he acted superbly, even though he looked freaky and pale.

Johnny is absolutely brilliant! He is defiantly one of the best actors of his day. He is such a versatile actor and can fit almost any role and yet you can always still see the same little bit of genuine Johnny.


I totally agree with that. Finding Neverland is such a... cute (for want of a better word) movie. The first time it played on TV, I absolutely loved it, then I waited until it was on again, recorded it, and couldn't stop watching it. Johnny delivered an astonishing performance (as he does with all movies) and I'm always so impressed with his acting abilities.

Ah...Johny Depp...i was reading an article about him today.. He has a tattoo Winona forever (meaning Winona Rider-sp?-) ,but he changed it to Wino forever, when they broke up. I love this guy, i don't think there is a single role of his that i did not like. He has a talent, he knows how to become the guy he plays. Whether he is a maniac, or an imaginary personality or a pirate, he is just perfect!

this seems like a haven of worship for Johnny Depp...lol, no i dont actually worship him...he really is a wonderful actor...and he's like the great chameleon of hollywood...well, in an extremely attractive light, ...but the thing is, he molds into the character he plays...its like he becomes the character and lives it...he became willy wonka, he became Jack sparrow and became even that little corpse bride guy (i forgot the name) simply using his voice... how truly amazing..

I love all of his movies. Even the really odd ones like Ed Wood. I think he's brilliant in PotC (first and foremost) and in Chocolat and Secret Window and Don Juan DeMarco and Once Upon a Time in Mexico and every other movie he's done. I think he's a great actor. He's also really down to earth and even though he's proposed to about 4 (?) women, he's still really committed to his girlfriend and his kids are so cute.

Most of all, he's from Kentucky. Yeah. We crank them out, we do. We've got Johnny and George Clooney and Muhammad Ali and Tom Cruise. That last one can just...vanish. Anyhoo, we've got family in his hometown, and we actually know the people who live in his first house! Course, he only lived there until he was five, but still. There's still an engineering place down there that has the Depp name on it.

Johnny is a great actor. As for his looks, he can be hit and miss sometimes, but it's usually hit. Most of the time. 9 out of 10. There are some not-so-hot ones, but everyone has their off days. Other than that...

omg, alkisti, i agree with you SO much...it really isnt just the way he looks...its his charm that gets you...and honestly, if any guy in the streets looked like that, i'd be like, YUCK! but the way he presents himself with that low, thick voice, his way of speaking intellectually and portraying himself in the weirdest of characters in movies as though they really exist, its all just so amazing! makes me swoon he does...lol, i'm crazy...his probably as old as my dad, but who cares!

Yep, chocobeer, you managed to put my thoughts into words! I totally agree with you- if he was a random, horrible actor with this style i would be like "Who's that guy and why is he torturing us?". But he has managed to be different than the rest of the Hollywood stars thanks to his character and his capabilities. Also, i like the fact that he doesn't behave like a star, a diva who wants you know three pools, four spa, a nanny for his ten dogs and a stylist for his three cats, all these are riduculous and he avoids them like a vampire the sun!

i read this article where he says his kids sometimes ask him to quote one of his characters like, Willy Wonka or Jack and he'll do it...and that's just a dinner conversation for them!!!

Excuse me as I intrude on territory I know all too well, but if you have not watched them yet and you want to fall in love with Johnny Depp again or for the first time, you need to schedule a viewing of Chocolat or Benny and Joon. Chocolat...mmmm. That's pretty much all I have to say. He comes in about halfway through the movie, but it's so worth it. Benny and Joon, he doesn't look the best ever, but I love that movie to death.
