sounds about right for a mum (lol)
erm well to be an extra they won't do open auditions because it's just a waste of their time for sucha small part (there are no small parts just small actors) anyway i think writing a letter might help.. maybe try writing to the director himself (don't know who that is, but it says David Yates) and if he's nice he'll write back and tell you what to do, though the best advantage is to join an acting school and just hope that the casting company will ask people from yours to be extras!

What would the address be if we were going to write to David Yates then?
or would it be the same as sending it to Leavesden but put 'c/o David Yates'

hopefully the auditions will be announced soon, it's almost May... i need to prepare

I wrote a letter for the third movie and unfortunately didn't get a reply. Is it too late to write a letter now? 'Cause I don't know...
Btw, are all cast members British? Including extras?

Apr 30 2007, 08:24 PM
yea there making everyone in the film bristish (i think they should have english crew as well to make it a totaly british film) but yea they're don't let anyone outside the Uk audition, if you turn up they turn you away! i gues its the same with letters if they see a stamp from outside UK they will discard it

Hello everyone, if you've read the mclaggen topic thingy then you'll no this. but i have to get my haircut for school because "its too long". So, how many of you think that i should try and get my hair to be roughly the same length by the time of the auditions and how many think i should just change it completley? pm me or anything with thoughts please. it would help so much and you gotta do it tonight its being cut tomorow

its gonna suck

Hey Harry Fans,
Does Cormac have to talk with an Irish accent? What is the correct pronounciation of 'Cormac' - is it just how it sounds? - been bugging me for a while.
POTTER 4 LIFE
i don't think his accent matters, the casting might have an accent in mind for him! though anyone in the age band can go because i don't think there is any discription in the books about him! so if they have a certain accent they want then they'll go with that
but to answer you question i think they should go for a welsh person, haven't got anyone from there yet... they have north, london, south, irland... but not whales, i think they need someone from there now!

I worte to Dan radcliffe about a month ago and i recieved a letter and a signed photo from him back!
i'm going to try out for the part of Demelza Robins because i think we seem alike and it doesn't really describe how she has to be so i might have a chance of getting the part!!!
i live in new Zealand but soon I might be in England 'cos i'm trying to get a place at the royal ballet school!

correction lav, one of the patil sisters is welsh, or at least born in wales, and if they do go for a welsh mclaggen thats a better chance for me

somtimes i gotta love being welsh ;D *i think im welsh at least, if i was born in germany because my dad was with the RAF there and my mum and sister were both born in wales and my dad in liverpool what does that make me ??*
also for my letter to leavesden i got this little letter thingy from my drama teacher
this is what it says;
To whom ever it may concern
I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending ollie for the audition of Harry Potter. Ollie is a talented, creative and hardworking individual. He works very well with others and is full of enthusiasm. He has a dynamic personality. He is quick witted and a pleasure to teach. He has excellent control of role-play skills and is a confident and very competent performer. Please contact me if you need any more information
Yours Sincerely
R Davies

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
HOEYDUKES_GIRLZ XOXO PEACE OUT!!!!!!!!
well if your 13 i think you'll be about the right age for romilda because she's in her 4th year (year 9) and i think that if she's included they'll choose a girl between 12 and 15/16 so i guess your the right age for her!
Write to the leavesden studio adress which is on the first page of this forum and adress it to the casting director, though we don't know who that is yet!

ok, if your gonna post on how do i audition i think its pretty stupid to post about how happy your cousin is gonna be, so basically what im saying is that i dont exactly care about your cousin, but if you do have something about auditioning then post it.
hmm ok!
well i hope that there are open auditions! it would be really cool to go and see all these people i've talked to but never met! that's really weird...
Anyway with auditions i just hope that for lavender they go down to 16! they probably wil but seen as Rupert is going to be 19/20 they may only stop at 17
PottyHead
May 8 2007, 06:48 PM
They better go down to 16 for Lavender because i found out i'll probably be too old for Romilda but i'll be devastated if i'm now too young for Lav!!

I want a part so much!! I think that they will go down to 16 though because that is the age they're meant to be in the film so hopefully they'll take that into consideration. Also I don't think a 16 and 19 year old would be too bad, it would be bad if it was 14 or 15 and 19 but i think 16 would be the lowest so maybe they'll accept 16...
I just hope they do
x
i sure hope so PottyHead i would be so upset if they decided that 16 was too young! but then again Emma is only a year older then me... hopefully they will let 16 yr olds auditions for Lav, i would love to get the part it would be so cool and really interesting to be a part of!
PottyHead
May 8 2007, 08:57 PM
I know!
It would be such a good opportunity and I would hate to miss out just because of my age, that would really suck, especially seeing as we're all making so much of an effort to trya nd get auditions aswell

I really hope that 16 isn't too young because other wise there would be no parts we could try for i don't think...unless they go to 16 for Merope, but I wouldn't really like to play the mother of LV....I would feel like it would all have been my fault and I would only be acting her....
x
yea i know, but i don't really want to be Merope! i just want to be Lavender and focus on her, i feel if i move around fomr character to character they will end up thinking all i want to do is be in the films and am not as commited as they want
PottyHead
May 8 2007, 09:12 PM
Yeah same, at first i wanted to be Romilda but when i was re reading the 6th book I grew completley attatched to Lavender, I mean her character is just so relatable the way she uses Ron to almost feel better about herself even though she can guess he doesn't really like her properly that much. She seems to trya nd act really confident like when she's with Pavarti she's natural, she's herself a giggly teenage girl who is quite bright and very fun loving. But she also feels like being herself isn't good enough for most people *pause...i think i should type an essay about lavender and send that to DY!!!....commence* Like she has to try and make herself seem really impressive and better than she actually is to get people to notice her. She also feels like she has to compete with Hermione for Ron, for example when ever Ron is around Hermione, Lavender gets quite paranoid and feels that she has to make it known that she's with Ron and he's out of bounds...
I'm gonna stop there i'm going completley off topic here!!
But yeah, I think I've shown my commitment, so I'm going to write an essay about why i should be Lavender, and why I've connectd with her with my little analysis above, do you think that would help me??
x
you go girl! with that atitude you should get a chance to audition! it's like DY here we come... you know what PottyHead if he doesn't hold open auditions, me and you should go to leavesden studios and kidnapped DY and make him watch us act!
PottyHead
May 8 2007, 09:21 PM
Lol i'm with you all the way!
We'll just tie him to a chair and gag him and make him watch us act out scenes from the book....he'll be so scared from us taking him hostage he'll have to give us parts! =]
Lav, you've been to an audition before haven't you? *I may have just made that up*, what's the process like? *just want to prepare myself for what's going to happen when! the auditions go on*
x
well you line up for a couple of hours in the sun rain or snow depending on the time of year... met lots of other people and make lots of friends. If reporters are there they might come and talk to you. When you get in you get given a sheet of paper to put your details on, but mainly you jus put your phone no. Then abuot 50 of you go onto a room where the casting director is and you give you name and where your from. Then they pick a couple form them and the rest go away. If your picked you get your picture taken and you write the rest of your details on the paper. I think you also get to do a bit of acting as well, but i'm not sure!
PottyHead
May 8 2007, 09:29 PM
I'm actually already really nervous about auditions...I want to get as far as I can in them (preferably go all the way and actually get the part but thats like a 1 in 10,000 chance almost)
I hope i get past the first audition, hopefully I'll get a reply from DY about auditions or soemthing, or even from Leavseden themselves. I'm definatley going to write that essay though to prove how much i want this part and how much it means to me

I think we're all just waiting for dates now, I really hope they haven't picked someone already, that would be just horrible!!
x
if they had i would not go and see the film and i would write to DY about how unthoughtful and horrible he is for not taking into consideration the feelings and talent of others and that OotP was a rubbish film any way (though i can't really say that yet) and how he shouldn't have got the directors role again yady yady yada! hmm i'll stop there or i'll end up calling him a baboon....
PottyHead
May 9 2007, 06:48 PM
I probably would go and see the film but i wouldn't be happy, we deserve a chacne! I'd also write to DY complaining that we should have been given a chance!!
But looking on cast lists for HBP nothings announced for Lav yet so I'm keeping my hopes up that they will have auditions

x
well i know i will go and see the film i just felt like being an extremist... so dramatic cor dear! but yes indeed as far there is no news so hopefully that means that open auditions will tkae place!

May 9 2007, 07:02 PM
I think that my mum's getting a bit fed up of me sending letters

But I'm going to send another one soon asking about open auditions and basically saying that if he hasn't thought of doing them then he really should consider all the raw talent out here, people without agents and the like because we deserve chacne!!

x
yea he definatly should! i mean i really want to get an agent but at the moment with GCSEs and stuff it's kind of hard to find time to go look at them all!
We really deserve a chance a raw talent is so much easier to bend to how you want because they haven't had all the training one way and set in their ways! we have an easier frame to mould! come on we are good otherwise we wouldn't be gettin good grades in drama GCSE and my teacher of all teachers would tell you if you were rubbish! (though she is a generous marker she will still tell you if your not going to pass!)
PottyHead
May 9 2007, 07:14 PM
I know the only reason i don't get the A* in Drama is because of the writing part of it, I have to do that stupid exam on i think it's the 18th of June...*grrr*
And in drama everyone across the UK will have done the same type of things and will have looked at many different genres, performend many different plays so that makes us very versatille aswell and thats better than someone who is only good at performing one type of genre!!
Grrr DY doesn't realise how much we actually want this opportunity!! Letters need to be sent by all

lol
x
yea at the moment i'm doing fantasy folk tale for my final performance! it's really elpful because well HP is fantasy and you get to look at different techniques to use in that. though with hp its reality put onto a fantasy back drop, but still it does help!
plus i think that studying all different ares and learning things that could end up being in the film is really helpful! i mean yea in Drama schools they learn it, but they have to be bent in to that shape so they will only have that as their future where as raw talent isn't and can be bent all different ways to suit different styles of management and directing thrown at them, plus where going to be more grateful for it because well it work our own butts off to do it where as agencies and drma schools get it done for them, so at the end og the day we are goign to be so much more grateful for getting the part then those who expect to get the chance!
PottyHead
May 9 2007, 08:06 PM
Well my final performance we had to 'Too Much Punch for Judy' which was completley abstract!! We had to go from proper happy hyper physical theatre pretending to be essex girls out on the town pulling and then in a split second we had to be really lament and depressing because the girl who played my sister in the play killed me. The emotional change was literally like that *clicks fingers* It was so much fun doing it but also so hard at the same time because of all the snappy genre changes that I think to myself 'well if I can do that then I obviously can act..' so they really should give people like us a chance!!
And i totally agree, in drama we all learn so many different genres that we're completley versatille and could adapt to any genre so directors could basically shape and mould us to get exactly what they want out of us whereas if they got someone who had been properly trained that wouldn't be as easy with them because they have been trained in specific genres.
x
not exactly trained to one gendre... more that they have been taught to do a certian thing at a certian time and it's mainly stage acting rather then film, so they have to be more liaberite with their acting to be able to reach people at the back! whereas raw talent can just do what the director tells them because they don't really have experience in having to do all the stage acting! plus ron, emma, evanna and others didn't have agents before they got the part, so why not someone with smaller part?
PottyHead
May 9 2007, 08:20 PM
I know! They had open castings for the trio who are probably some of the easiest characters to find because you have every description possible to know what to look for in an actor so they may aswell have them for smaller parts like Lav.
If they don't they'll only get bombarded by what can only be described as hate mail from girls complaining that they weren't given a chance to prove themselves just because they don't have an agent or anything so they may aswell save themselves the hassle and do open auditions..
Quite random but i had a proper huge daydream about auditions in English this morning and it kind of got me thinking of how important they are to so many girls and then i was all *grrr they better have auditions*
I hope someone hears something soon about auditions and dates and stuff!!
x
i can't wait! i keep going on the newsround website to see if they have any news.. though they still don't have the news that DY is directing, which means they've got bored of Hp or lezo is ill and can't look it up yet (lol)
though someone said that audition information is going to be coming out in june... hopefully it will be before! i mean yea we have GCSEs, but if thery're on a saturday we still have sunday to revise for the monday!
PottyHead
May 9 2007, 08:55 PM
As long as they're not from the 26th June to the 12th July then I'll be happy...my parents have already shouted at me for saying if the auditions are when we're away then I'm not going away! I really hope they're on a date when i can go!! I will be devastated if I can't!!
I wouldn't mind if they were when GCSEs were going but aslong as they were on a saturday (or even a sunday) just not a weekday! Unless I got a fake doctors note saying why i missed the exams...or I could sprain my ankle like the week before auditions and pretend its still horrible on the day of auditions and then go up to London and just get my predicted grades =]
Or they should do auditions in the half term....ooh but thats only like three weeks or is it two....either one i think its three though...

imagine if they were in the half term!! thats so close to now....I would die of shock...then come back to life and go to the auditions and blatantly get the part of Lavender

lol, it would be cool if I did get the part, though i doubt i will!
x
yeah the half term isn't a bad idea! maybe we should write to DY and suggest it to him (lol) but yea if they were in half term it would be like i have exams tomorrow it would be i have the rest of the week to revise i'm allowed one day off! oh that would be so good and people wouldn't be going off on hoilday because they still have exams and it woudl be so cool and its close! oh i hope it is, though it probably won't be becuase the casting are annoying humf!
PottyHead
May 9 2007, 09:03 PM
I actually really hope i watch newsround in a few days and hear that the casting is in half term now

! Its so close and we wont have to wait around for news on when the auditions are and if I got the part I could go through the rest of my exams feeling happy and hopefully that would make my marks go up because I'd be so happy and confident

!
I'm so anxious to hear about audition dates now!!
x
yeah i know.. it was like before DY was annonced as the director i was liek have the auditions after my exams because i can focus on them... but now we know it's him it's like well he could be doing closed auditions as we speak or planning open ones.. what is he doing and it's really dirstracting me, it's like i just want to get it over and down with! but if they were at half term i'll be getting nervous the week before wondering whats going to happen.. but at least afterwards i will know where i stand!
PottyHead
May 9 2007, 09:16 PM
I know same..plus I'd rather get them out of the way in half term because I only have three GCSE exams before that but then I have about two weeks just absolutley full of exams, like 3 a day sometimes!! so if auditions were done in half term I wouldn't be worrying about them when I should be worrying about GCSEs because they are more important but I am just way more worried about the auditions instead for some reason, I just want to do them like now instead of spending lesson time dreaming about what I hope will happen (granted my teacher was jsut rambling on about how we don't do homework and she thinks we're a dissapointment or something or other for the entire hour so I didn't miss much) but I jsut want to do the auditions and find out where I stand and stuff like you said! lol
x
yeah same! it because it is a once in a lifetime thing, we can retake our GCSEs later (though we wouldn't want to) but with this you can only audition for Lavender once and then that part is taken!
malfoy's_little_weyotch
May 9 2007, 09:21 PM
Hi.....yeah....some of the actors you write to do actually write back....my friend wrote to Daniel Radcliffe and she got a letter(typed) back and his autograph on a photo of him.....i wrote to tom felton aka Draco Malfoy....and a got a letter back (also typed) and a photo of him.....but he said he doesnt give out autographs through the mail.....I just sent one to Devon Murray and am waiting for the reply.....as for the casting i have never tried..... i thought about it but i chose not to because the chances of that are VERY slim......and also i am not british...after all we would go up against thousands possibly millions maybe even billions of people and some of them i daresay will be british....and i think if we went up against a british person they would win over us because on all the audition info it says they are looking strictly for brits and if your not dont count on a part.....im not telling you to give up your hopes im just warning you so you wont get as sad or anything.
PottyHead
May 9 2007, 09:25 PM
yeah the chances are very slim, but still they have to pick someone and who knows it could always end up being on of us, preferably me, but I wouldn't mind losing out to someone on here because they deserve it...
QUOTE
can retake our GCSEs later
I know!! They can be redone, Lav auditions once and once only! and seeing as my passion has been acting since I was like 5 then I'd say the auditions are 1000 times more important to me than my GCSEs!!
they don't they have to much work to do, they have fan sites and stuff writing back! and they have a stack signed photographs to send to people!
PottyHead
May 10 2007, 07:23 PM
True, they would have people who do that for them, they would be too busy filming or do other stuff to write back personally to each and every letter they get.
Any news on auditions anyone?
