HEROES, was a club I stated in react to the shipping wars between R/Hr and H/Hr shippers. It's message was, basically who ever ends up with who, the trio's friendship is more imporant. So if you subscribe to that message, join.
I've been a horriably lazy president, and I'm starting this up again, it's a new beginning.
Spencer Potter
Cool! Thanks!

But I never have actually posted to this before, but uhm, I think its cool if either of them got together, friendship is more important, they need eachother more than ever now, so I think its great! cool.gif
Aguamenti353
Sounds good! Yeah I agree to that- their trio friendship BOND is much more important than who ends up with who. Even though it would be nice for Hermione to end up with someone (*cough* Ron *cough*) But I still agree with the message! lol biggrin.gif
SpiralDance
biggrin.gif I am convinced that Ron will end up with Hermione.Besides, Harry has Ginny only broke up bcause of Harry's quest. And i don't think they'll be appart for long.Ginny is too stubborn not to follow Harry. She always has her own way. wub.gif

Hello then all the new people. Also, it doesn't matter if you ship H/Hr or R/Hr, or you're in the middle.
I got really exicited well wacthing that preview for OotP that Dan said that Harry is strong as long as he has Hermione and Ron at either side of him. I hope they really play up their friendship, because IMO GoF was kind of lacking in that way. Mike did a great job portraying them one on one, but not as a singal unit, not like Alfonso did anyway.
Spencer Potter
They were spectacular working well in CoS and PS, also PoA. But Chris Columbus did the best of keeping it together, GoF wasnt the best because if it wasnt Ron and Hermione arguing or dissing eachother it was Harry and Hermione not getting along as I could have pointed out numerous times, so this is awesome that they are together friends.

Hey Amy-

I'm assuming that you've been in contact with Louise regarding this club?

I had a look at the last thread and it finished off with this from her:

QUOTE
Hey there,

Listen, this thread is a mammoth and there doesn't seem to be much real discussion here anymore. Now I'm not picking on you, I'm doing the same with all the clubs here, but if you want this one to continue, then it's going to need a coordinator, it's going to have to be maintained regularly, and I'm going to need a good summary post to be placed at the head of a new thread. If someone wants to do that, please get in touch with me. All the clubs here need an overhaul and some rules laid down to prevent them becoming one liner paradises.

Until then, I'm afraid this is going to have to get a lock.

So in regards to this, if this club IS going to stay open, then it will need some SOLID discussion topics (as opposed to just "I agree their friendship is more important") and will need to KEEP OFF shipping.

If this thread is used to favour one ship over the other the posts will be deleted and the thread will be closed.

Let me know if there are any questions

I am so glad we have another HEROES thread. smile.gif I have a question to start us out with. What trio moments do you want to see in OOTP? In the book? One that is made up?
Ciao Soleil!
It seems that some people here are more excited to see their favourite couples finally hook up in the final book, to the extent that they don't care whether evil triumphs or not. There's nothing wrong with that but I for one read Harry Potter for its excitement, thrill, and suspense. Though romance contributes a lot to the books, friendship owns its butt. I'd be more disappointed if the series ended with the trio not being together than if Ron and Hermione didn't declare their love for another.

But if asked, H/Hr or R/Hr, I'd choose the latter. tongue.gif

I don't really care who ends up with who. To me the ships have sailed and are irrelevant to me, execpt for in fanfic. As far as canon goes, it has been Ron and Hermione's love for and acceptance of Harry that has kept him going, and vice versa. They are 3 parts of a whole, and it will take all 3 to defeat LV. At some point in all prior books (not as much in HPB though) they are all working together to figure something out. I'm sorry if all this seems a little vague. It's almost 3am and I've been up since 530 yesterday. Maybe I'll hit the hay and post more later! LOL
After the Burial
With six books finished, each one requiring Harry to receive help from his friends, which always included Hermione and Ron, it seems ridiculous to think that he will successfully navigate a solo route. Whatever happens in Deathly Hallows, you know it must include the trio working together. Anything else would be a mockery of the characters.
DracosLady
If in fact there will be any ships that come out in the last book, I feel that Ron and Hermione could possibly get together. They obviously have feelings for each other or they would not fight so much. But I feel because of all the things that Harry will be facing in the final book he will need all of the help from his friends that he can get and there probaly won't be any time for ships.

i believe the relationship between the trio has helped Harry be able to complete the various task he has had to complete.Without Ron and Hermione, i think Harry would have gave into LV demands.
Moon(I luv you Luna)
Um ... hello ... *nervous laugh* i'm sort of new to the HEROES thread, but i've decided that even though i'm an avid R/Hr shipper, i don't care if it ends up H/Hr or Harry/Luna, or Hermione/Krum, or Ron/Lav-lav ...

becuse their friendship is more important.

That's the point of this thread right? their friendship is important, and has been over the course of 6 books. Harry.Ron.Hermione They are best friends, and really, they need each other and depend on each other. So besically, if Harry wants to survive, he's going to have to remain friends with the one's he really does love ...

Anywho, I reakon there needs to be more trio moments in the movies. The movies are always stressing about Harry and Hermione, and Ron and Hermione arguing, and there's never any good old Harry.Ron friendship, is there? This is what i really hope OotP will bring us ...

Well ... yeah. happy.gif

P.S Does HEROES stand for something? If so, could someone be ever so nice, and tell me? Please? *Puppy-dog look* laugh.gif
Belatrix Lestrange
I know there will be a ship in the last book I am not sure exactly what ship though but I am sure that it is not Harry and Hermione becuase JKR said :
" Anyone who still ships Harry and Hermione after this book needs to go back and REREAD"

I found it on a Avatar and a interview... biggrin.gif

Okay now we know how the whole shipping wars ended,
» Click to Show Spoiler - Click Again to Hide... «

but I think it was more important that they were still the trio. We had those parts where things got really rocky.

But the biggest thing is that they were in it together until the end.
When Harry had been through everything, he still put out the effort in him to explain everything to Ron and Hermione.
griffin-locks
Yeah, I think your right, personally.
We can't forget that its an adventure book, not a romance novel, although it seems like it in many ways.
Vontsje
I agree with Griffin-locks that the books are mainly adventure books, but I also think that many people would miss the romantic scenes when they would be cut out of the books. Many people, including me, find the books more realistic (if you can speak of that when all the books are about magic tongue.gif) when the characters are having a relationships or trying to get one.
Pawprint
Well, I was one of the persons who thought, after the last kiss on GoF that Hermione might be interested in Harry... Silly me, I guess. But I had this awful feeling that if they got together, Ron would be left outside, and it would break his heart. I would hate that!

When Harry and Ginny got together in HBP, It made me extremelly happy! Now Ron had a chance with Hermione, and the trio wouldn't be broken! Ginny would fit in, and both couples would have a happy ending!

I loved the fact that the last book happened as it did. Not too mushy, big adventures, suspense, and lots of feeling. Another masterpiece, and not overreacted romance! I loved the ships!
DeSs
I want to join! I think their friendship is the jewel of the whole series, and I've envied that so many times... You can find a friendship like that in a million ... of years. To have friends that decided to go with you through death is priceless. Harry never had anything, he lost everything in his life, you would have thought he could have developed a criminal, a heartless person wandering through life, and even being at Hogwarts, since death pursued him from the start, but even so, love never left him. And to have Ron and Hermione by his side... I think that was one of the reasons that kept the flame of love burning inside of him. They both had a family, perhaps not the family they wanted, like any teenager, but their families are everything for them, they don't know what it means not to have anybody to care of you when you're sick, when you need an advice, a hug, a goodnight kiss, and they left him to help Harry, risked everything what mattered to them. They also, and in part, risked their love, because if they died, there wouldn't be a second chance. It wasn't easy. They knew they would have to face death every moment, and they went, despite all the things that happened later. Ron came back, and not only that, but he actually never wanted to leave them, because otherwise, he wouldn't have spent that time at Bill's, but at his own home. Hermione stayed, when she could have made up a lot of excuses to leave or to never go and harry would have understand that. But they remained. I think that's simply... awesome, unbelievable.
Is this thread a ... bit left? Because I wanted to join! We'd need some questions. Ellen, lazy president, come here! ( tongue.gif Sorry dear, I didn't mean to shout)
