Yeah I was really sad when Friends finished!! Though I still watch it occasionally on e4 and right now they are showing the sort of early seasons of Friends and I never really got to see them because I was a lot younger then!!

so does someone know for sure who ends up with who? does rachel end up with Ross? and is the plane episode the last episode? honestly, yes it was a very touching scene when rachel comes in...but, i've always kinda wanted rachel to end up with joey...i just dunno, i really like them together! do they end up together at the very end?
HPfan#1
Feb 14 2007, 10:29 PM
Yeah I think it ends up Ross and Rachel, Monica and Chandler, Phobe and Mike and Joey I don't think has a certain girlfriend yet!! I loved Friends though I would much rather say I love Friends!! As in present tense because I sooooo wish that Friends was still going!!

When i get a chance to sit down and watch friends i love it. I can't say i have watched every episode. But all off them i have seen i think are great.
I did watch one last Sunday i think. With this cat and Roos was he trying to propose to Racheal??
alkisti
Feb 15 2007, 11:17 AM
I don't remember which episode you're talking about
Seriouslysirius...A proposal to Rachel? Hm...no, i don't remember it. And i'm pretty sure i have seen every single episode. I believe that Friends had the most clever dialogues ever used in a tv-series. I actually think that older series were better. The modern ones get repetitive and their humour kind of loses its value along the way...

I think I know what episode Seriouslysirius is talking about. Is it the one when Ross goes out on the balcony with Rachel to ask her out then Paulo's cat jumps on him, then Rachel starts going out with Paulo?? Well that was a really funny episode

!!

Everyone went through that phase and i'm sure that Emma would have to go under it too, if the series continued...But it was AMAZING! Gosh, great! I remember when Rachel and Ross fought after she found out about him cheating on her- Monica, Phoebe, Chandler and Joey were hidden in Monica's room and they were starving so they ate the wax Monica and Phoebe used to remove hair from their legs. Hahaha! It was hilarious! Oh and when Rachel ordered the pizza, Joey said "Put olives in the pizza!" and did this movement as if he was throwing his thought to her. That sounds awkard but it was really funny then!

I loved the episode when it was Rachel's birthday party and her mum and dad were getting a divorce so her dad had to go into Joey and Chandler's house while her mum was in Monica's house!! Then Phoebe was sneaking everyone out of Monica's party and into Joey and Chandler's

And then Joey kissed Rachel's mum

omg!! joey kissed almost every girl ever to appear on the show or something! lol, even though he's so excited about girls ALL the time, he's still the sweetest guy ever...i remember the episode where phoebe goes to ursula (her twin) and finds out that she's really 31 years old and not 30 like she thought! and then she gets all sad because she hasnt done anything she wanted to do before she turned 31...and that included experiencing the best kiss...when she gets sad and leaves, joey goes to her and kisses her...and she says it really is the best kiss ever...he's so nice...i know it sounds kinda stupid, but that's just how he thinks...and it shows he really cares for his friends
...joey's my absolute fave!...
and speaking of that episode, when phoebe goes to ursula and wishes her happy birthday, ursula's like, uh, we're 31 this year...so, phoebe's like, how do you know? i'm sure we're 30...but ursula shows phoebe her own birth certificate and says, here, see? and phoebe goes, wow, do you have mine? ursula, lol, says, no, i had it, but sold it to a bum for some cents...hahha
she's so evil...poor phoebe!

I was watching one the other day when they found out that Rachel was pregnant and they are trying to find out who the father is and Ross comes in and he's like "Oh there's my sweater I've been lookin for this for like a month" and Phoebe and Monica are like "OMG!" and Joey is staring off into space and then his eyes get all big and he's like "OMG!!" lol I love Joey he's always so clueless!!!!

chocobeer, that was amazing! I think that Phoebe was also upset because she lost a year from her life!

She wanted a kiss from a spanish man i think and Joey kissed her and said "I'm half spanish" or something! It was so amazing and nice of him...
Kelso2010, i could not stop laughing when i saw this episode, Joey is always so slow...Gosh! And at the end of that episode, Ross meets Chad (?) and they are wearing the same red sweater, and Chad says "Rachel is crazy ha?So, whose is it?" and Ross goes like "I don't know, check your own label!" as he thought he asked about the sweater. That was a major lol!

I also liked the episode when Ross goes to the tanning booth and ends up getting all the tan on his front and none on his back

then he went again to a different booth and he ended up getting it all on the front again and none on his back

!!

That was ABSOLUTELY amazing! "One Missisipi (sp?), two Missisipi, three Missisipi"! And when he told Monica she said 'How could you have got that wrong? You count until three and turn around" and he replies "Missisipi-less???"

OMG! Hilarious!
And when Chandler goes to Ross and tells him that the same happened to him and he takes a photograph of Ross...Hahaha!

I also thought that the episode when Rachel was in labour and she was getting madbecause she had been in longer than all the woman who had been in and had their baby and she still hadn't

And then all you hear is, "Oh my god!!" and then its Janice

!!! That was soooooo funny!!!
alkisti
Feb 16 2007, 03:27 PM
Oh Janice, Gosh she is amazing! That voice and laugh of hers...Have you seen that episode where Monica and Chandler go to buy their new house and Janice appears and wants to buy the house next to theirs? It was A M A Z I N G! Chandler said something like "Only Janice and the Hitlers want that house" and when he finds out that Janice will buy it after all, he says "Oh...the Hitlers will be so disappointed!". Gosh, it was great this one!

Miss Minerva Mcgonagall

Oh, I wish the croatian tv program would give reruns...I miss this show so much.
I loved the chick and the duck they were so cute...
I think that I read somewhere that in the beginning, Chandler was supposed to be gay, but they changed it.
Anyway...I think my favorite character would be...Phoebe...or Joey
HPfan#1
Feb 18 2007, 12:13 PM
Well my favourite character is between Joey and Chandler!!! I just love them both!!! Oh I loved the episode when Ross and Joey got locked out on the roof and they had to climb down the fire escape and Ross was saying to Joey, " Ok when you get down there"

and then Ross had to climb down Joey it was sooooooooo funny
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall
Feb 18 2007, 08:44 PM
Seni Really, Chandler was supposed to be gay? Chandler does have a thing that runs through all the seasons (mainly the earlier ones) where people do believe he's gay. There is an episode where he asks the others 'what is it about me?' so that could be what you read. And the one I spoke about before, the memorial service one...Ross writes that Chandler is gay and loads of people call up to congratulate him on finally coming out
I'm glad he's not though, he and Monica are a good couple. I found that origionally Joey's character was supposed to be more like Chandlers but they changed him to being a little dumber.
Yeah, that's also why I love friends. The guys - especially Joey and Chandler, have such sweet relationships with each other.

I love the episodes with Ugly Naked Guy. I think they're hillarious!! because someone is always at the window and they're like "Oh look Ugly Naked guy got a thigh master" or something like that and I love the one when Ross is trying to buy his appartment and they're like "Hey look Ugly Naked Guy has a naked friend" and then Rachel is like "OMG that's Ross!! Ugly naked guy, how hilarious!

I remember when Ross bought his house and he pretented to watch tv because he knew -or thought!- that Monica and the rest were watching at him. But he wasn't really watching tv and he thought he was really clever for fooling people! I also remember when someone was packing and Monica asked for Ross' help but he said he had to babysit Ben. When he went to his appartement, he took a large bear and put at its head a hat Ben was wearing so as to look like Ben. After a while, Monica calls him and tells him that Ben lost his head and Ross looks at the bear and it was headless! So, he screams but after that, he says with a look full of disappointement "ok, ok, i'm coming over". Haha that was great!

I remember the episode when they were all looking over at ugly naked guy and then one of them said something like, "Hey ugly naked guy has some candles" and then 2 seconds later they all went, "ooh thats gotta hurt"

or something like that. I remember years ago when SMTV Live was still on every Saturday morning and I remember, Ant, Dec and Cat used to do their version of Friends and they called it Chums. I thought it was pretty funny

did anyone see that episode where chandler and monica think phoebe likes chandler or something like that...but phoebe really doesnt like him...so for some twisted reason they start showing off their big, gutsy guts...and when monica and chandler are hiding in the washroom, its really untidy...so when chandler comes in after like ten minutes, he goes, 'wow, you've cleaned up in here!' and monica's like, 'oh, yeah, i didnt have much to do' ...lol...and then, at the end, when they get to kiss each other, chandler tries but finally gives up...and then, i think, that's the first time monica and chandler tell the others that they love each other...

chocobeer, i know which episode you are talking about! It was really romantic that one. Chandler said something like "I can't do that" when Phoebe kissed him, and she asked "Why?" and he replies "Because i'm in love with Monica" and Rachel comes in and says "Guys, we didn't know you were in love" or something like that. It was really romantic! I loved them as a couple.
I just remembered that other scene where Chandler had returned from his job (he was transfered to another state) and he didn't want Joey to know. But Joey thought Monica was cheating on him and he called Chadler and told him "I told you, you shouldn't have married someone prettier than you!". I loved that!

oh and has anyone heard the advertisement for Friends on the Canadian radio?? lol, i know you cant unless you live here...but here, this woman goes, friends - season 1 and then joey says 'how ya doin?'
then she says, friends- season 4 'how ya doin?'
friends - season 10 'how ya doin?'
friends - 12 how ya doin?
lol, and he keeps saying that...i know it probably doesnt seem so funny, but if you'd hear it, you'd be rolling with laughter! it is indeed his best and funniest line!
alkisti
Feb 21 2007, 10:24 AM
"How ya doin?"- i love that line! I remember when he mentioned it to Phoebe and Rachel, and Phoebe didn't believe it was a good line. So Joey, turns to her and says "How ya doin?" and Phoebe does that little girlish laugh. It was so funny! I just loved Joey, he was really nice and cute and i wish things had worked out between him and Rachel...

But still, he was a great character. Though i prefer Chandler because he had an amazing sense of humour! Every line of his is funny! Do you remember that one with the suites? Chandler was looking for a suite for his wedding and Ross got the suite Batman was wearing at a premiere and Chandler got the one James Bond was wearing. So, Monica and him started arguing on who is the best. At one point, Monica says "James Bond gets all the ladies" and Chandler says "Yes, but Batman has Robbin!".

Gosh, how hilarious! There was this night we went to sleep and my brother could not remember that line. So, we both tried to recall it. When i finally did, we burst into laughter and we could not stop laughing for like 10 minutes. We almost woke up our parents...

And she says yes and Monica says "Don't you think he will notice you are not pregnant in a few months?" and Phoebe goes like "Come on, it's Joey we are talking about." Haha!

And Joey can be very dumb most of the time!
But other than that, great show!

Ross is supposed to be annoying, he is the geek, who always sits right in front of the teacher! But the "we were on a break" must be the line of the series. It is amazing! We are still using it with my friends to make fun of situations like that one!
And Joey, yeah, he is slightly stupid but very cute and innocent. They all represent a different personality and i love them all, no matter how dump, arrogant or ironic they may be!
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall
Mar 7 2007, 03:58 PM
Sometimes Ross annoys me, but rarely do I get that annoyed with any of the characters. I agree that they are all amazing, Joey can be dumb but I wouldn't see that as a down point on the show...it's hilarious and it's not completely 'in your face' dumb everytime he's on screen.
Oh and I believe Ross and Rachel WERE on a break, but it gave Ross no excuse to sleep with the bar girl whatever her name was, so Rachel had a right to be so angry, but still they'd agreed to be on a break when he left the building. She said the words.
What does everyone else think?

YEEESSS, I loved that show.

ALL the characters I liked, and this is why I liked them:
-
Ross because I liked how nerdy he was and stuff. I liked how the other chars would just make fun of him and all of his ex lovers. lol.
-
Rachel wasn't all that fun in the beginning (when she was just an airhead), but she got funnier as the show progressed.
-
Monica. My GOD I loved the ones where it showed her in the past fat. (THose ones were soooo funny.). I also liked how much of a neat-freak she was. (That really cracked me up....).
-
Chandler-Althogh his parents used to give me headaches, I really loved seeing him interact with them. ^^
-
Joey- Although I hated the spin-off, he was plain funny and most realistic of all. lol. His character was sooo believable and sooo funny. I loved his timer to watch Baywatch and his love for sandwiches.

-
Phoebe-She was soooo funny, and I loved it when she'd sing the "smelly cat" song. ^^ (Her twin sister gave me headaches, though....).

Yeah, i agree with you. I think that they were indeed on a break. But being on a break doesn't mean that you sleep with every girl or boy that hits on you. It is supposed to be a period of relaxation during which, you just sit and think of your relationship. Ross did not have the right to sleep with her. But i don't blame him because he was sad, drunk and thought that Rachel was cheating on him with that Mark guy. I mean, he is human after all... But i don't know if i could have ever forgiven him...
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall
Mar 13 2007, 07:19 PM
I know what you mean, Ross really shouldn't have. Everytime I watch that episode I'm thinking 'No Ross stop being an idiot!' lol. I know, it did take her a long time to forgive him though. He accused her of cheating then slept with a random girl, it's understanding.
I love in the last episode with the whole 'Did she get on the plane?!' and then they kiss and he says 'Unless were on a break...' haha.
I love the last episode.

I love the last episode too!

It just makes me so sad...It's all over, no Chandler, no Joey...No more...I don't like endings...I hate them actually!

On Sunday i saw the last episode from Charmed and though it was a happy one, just like at Friends, i wanted to cry...I practically grew up watching these two series, so it was kind of hard realising they were over...
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall

Aw yeah, I know what you mean. It sucks when you realise that's it, it's over. The Friends ending was really good but I still wasn't satisfied. I don't think any ending would satisfy me. It is wierd how even though it's a happy ending it still makes you want to just cry haha.

I really want them back though it is highly impossible...
I have heard that there were some discussions between the writers of the series and the studio but the writers didn't want to start it again. And it is quite fair. It would get...stupid...I prefer it that way.
Yeah, you want to cry because it is an era and it is ending...
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall
Mar 14 2007, 06:22 PM
Yeah I heard that too. I heard they couldn't get one of them to come back but I don't remember which, they wanted to film a reunion episode. Maybe just an hour long reunion episode in about five years would be ok? I don't think it'll happen though. Let's get off this sadness...
How about the episode in series seven it is, Chandler and Rachel keep eating cheesecakes then at the end they are eating it off the floor. Joey pulls a fork out of his jacket 'what are we having?'

Classic!
alkisti
Mar 14 2007, 10:47 PM
Totally classic! I love the scene when Rachel and Chandler have divided the last cheesecake and Rachel said "Don't come crying like a baby when your part is over and bla bla bla" and then she drops her part!

And then Chandler comes out and mokes her. One of the best episodes EVER!
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall
Mar 15 2007, 12:57 AM
Oh yeah! Rachel is so cocky and then drops it haha! I love that episode too.
I thought of another couple, the one where Ross buys Phoebe a bike and she can't actually ride it. Then she's in her room and he's like 'The bike wants to be ridden, the bike is dying Phoebe...' then she's says 'Ross that was such **** but I'll do it' then he leaves and shes whispers 'omg please don't die!' to the bike lmao.
The one where Ross is trying to get everyone ready for his speech work thing makes me laugh too. 'You were gunna drink the fat!' lol. and with Joey and Chandler both arguing over a chair
alkisti
Mar 15 2007, 12:08 PM
Hahaha yeah!

And Chandler hid all of Joey's clothes and Joey wore all of Chandler's clothes without an underwear! Haha how hilarious!
I just love Chandler, he had the funniest lines in the series! I still laugh hard with the "Yeah, but Batman has Robbin" and the "If I were a guy..." and "Oh the Hitlers will be so disappointed"! This guy has never let me down!
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall
Mar 16 2007, 08:26 PM
Yeah I love Chandler too. He does come out with some classic stuff. Oh If I were a guy is a great one...
'Yeah If I were a guy and...'
*Everyone stares at him*
'Wait, did I just say
if I were a guy?'
When Monica and Chandler are going on there honeymoon it's hilarious too. I love when they go into the first class lounge and Chandler's like 'Be cool be cool' then Monica screams 'Oh my god. Oranges!' Then they steal them when they get thrown out haha.
alkisti
Mar 17 2007, 11:29 AM
Yeah that was hilarious! And when these guys in front of them got all the nice things for being on a honeymoon and they got nothing...haha! And Monica said to Chandler Let's pretend we are on a honeymoon" and Chandler said "We ARE on a honeymoon!"
Btw, what's that thing with the oranges? Are they so rare in the US?
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall
Mar 17 2007, 07:03 PM
I really don't know about Oranges, I'm not from the US but when I've been over there I've not seen any. I take it your not from there either?
Oh yeah!! And then Mon and Chandler are like 'Ok you've been screwing us all day' the couple are all 'we don't need the stuff were just here to be together' Chandler - 'yeah ok we need the stuff' haha!
One with Ross I really love is where he and Chandler go to that hotel and he's eaten loads of maple candy.
