The plot for this movie is excessively used in all types of entertainment, be it movies, books, stories/fanfiction, and other things.
This movie sprouted my dislike for any young-adult actress. The only one I don't have a grudge against is Keisha Castle-Hughes. And Shirley Temple. She's just too cute to hate.

I LOVE this movie! I've probably seen it at least 50 times. I'd rent it every Friday from Blockbuster when I was little. I would have been better off just buying the DVD lol. I don't like the old version though. I love the new one with Lindsay Lohan. Great movie!

I think I liked the older version a lot better. The parent trap is cute for a younger audience, but there were a few too many parts that made me snicker because of the cheesiness.

Haha that's why I don't like the old version. It feels unreal and cheesey to me. I like the new one much better. It's more.. down to earth, ya know?
i didnt like the old version either. i just dont enjoy old movies that much.

I like the Lindsay Lohan version. Lindsay is my favourite actress. I have seen nearly all her films and tv shows (if shown in Australia).

I haven't seen the old one, but I loved the Lindsay Lohan version. I didn't know it was her until just recently, I've really come to like her as an actress... and her songs are pretty good too.
And hehe, Wilmer Valderama = hot. Lindsay is also! *lol*

Lindsay sang in Freaky Friday, singing "Ultimate". Then she sang "Drama Queen (That Girl)" <--- something like that. I heard she's coming out with a record. (Like everybody lol)
I remember as a kid I loved watching the Parent Trap. It was really fun and playful *looks for videotape* I know it's here somewhere.

Maeve, lindsay played both parts. I liked playing the jokes on "dad's evil girlfriend". I mean it was sappy having the wife (who reminded me of princess diana) remarrying the dad (dennis quaid). But the twins are loveable. You know what's even cheesier? The dad's maid Jessie marrying the Mom's butler.

THe film was AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I really liked the Lindsay Lohan version. The part where MEredith Blake sucked the lizard was really gross, I don't know how she stands it really. Apart from that, I'd really wan to try floating on a mattress on a lake. The twins are like the gril version of Fred and George! lol!

this movie is so funny and just a feel-good movie... everytime i watch it, it makes me happy... i loved the part when the twins are teaching each other about their lives... and the camping trip makes me laugh my head off all the time

I love the parent trap. Both movies are really good but I must say the original is the best. The one with Lindsey Lohan is okay too, but it isn't the kind of movie that I would watch over and over. I like that little handshake thing they do. I learned it and did it over and over when I was a kid.

I used to love both of the films, I didn't have a particular favourite of the two. Now though, when I watch the newer one, I don't find it very interesting anymore. I get about half way through and turn it off.

I like a lot the version with Lindsay. She's very cute! And I think the actor who plays her dad(I know his name but I can't write it correctly) is an attractive grown-up.It's a sweet movie. It's always pleasure to watch it.

I liked both the old and new versions of the Parent Trap. Haley Mills did a good job, but the singing was a bit funny. I always find musicals humorous. I don't know too many people that break into song and dance just for the love of life. Weird sense of humour, right?

HAHA the only version of parent trap that i watched was with lindsey lohan, so i don't know. but I like the plotline, it's really cute and gushy. Man, what are the chances of meeting your twin sister at a camp and switching places? Wow! Haha, but it's a classic Disney movie, and it was pretty good

It was my fave movie when i was younger. Lindsay made quite a performance for such a young actress. It's a shame her personal life seems to be getting in the way of her career nowadays.

I remember watching this movie when I was younger. Me, my sister and my cousins learnt the secret handshake that Lindsay Lohan always did in that movie. It was fun doing that over and over again.

I won the old version of The Parent Trap but I have to say I still haven’t watched it and I must do that really to compare them together. As for Lindsay Lohan’s version, I love it! I grew up watching it and I still love it now. I love the humour in the film mainly aimed at their almost step-mom. It’s amazing how young Lindsay looks! I watch Lindsay still in her films like ‘Mean Girls’ and ‘Freaky Friday’. The Parent Trap is such amusing, great family film which I can watch again and again.

Both movies are really good! I have to say I saw the Lindsay Lohan one first, so I'm kind of more used to that one. But the other one is just as good, just different. There's just enough real elements to make it believable, just enough seriousness, and a lot of humor! Great movies!

I haven't seen the old version but Lohan's used to be one of my favorite movies when I was younger. It is a hard to believe plot, but I think it is a good movie for kids and families
They're always showing it on the TV, so I'm kinda sick of it

I can never get sick of the movie. Everytime it's on TV I always end up watching it. It is one of my favorite all-time movies. I like both the old and new version. I think I like the old version a tad bit more eventhough I have never seen all of it, but what I saw was funny, good, and amusing. The new version is funny, good and amusing too but I guess I just like the other one because it is the original. Or is it?

I own both versions of The Parent Trap, and love them!! I have to say that I like the old version better. It doesn't help that I'm older and that was the only one out there at the time.
I always love to see if I can find mistakes in movies, especially when a character is playing two parts(My husband thinks I should get a job doing that.I wonder if there really is a job for that?). I know that in the older version, Hailey Mills forgot to change her shoes when they were in the isolation cabin talking. At one minute the character is wearing black flats and her sister is wearing white keds. In the next shot she is wearing keds, then back to flats. I could have that backwards(shoes/flats/shoes?). Its fun to me to catch mistakes like that. I'll have to go back and see if I can catch any mistakes in the newer version. Oh well.. I'm rambling!

I've seen both versions of the Parent Trap various times. I much prefer the old one over the new, as I do with most movies.

There are so many old actors I love in the old version! Hayley Mills (I think that's how she spells her name) is a favorite of mine. Maureen O'Hara and Brian Keith. There are so many funny parts in the old version.

I haven't watched it in a while. I really should watch it again.

This was always one of my favorite movies. It was sad to see the news that Natasha Richardson was injured in a ski accident today and is most likely brain dead. I thought she did a wonderful job in this movie and it was sad to see her in this condition at such a young age. I somehow missed she was married to Liam Nisson. She will be missed.

I have always been a fan of the Redgrave/Richardson clan. Natasha was brilliant in Parent Trap and had some of the best lines. I adored her when she was drunk after getting off the plane! And reaction when her ex saw her and she waved dumbly as he disappeared in to the elevator followed by her saying he looked at her like she was 'The ghost of bloody Christmas past'!
It's very sad that she lost her life in what seemed to be such a simple accident. It was reported that she was walking around normally after the initial accident so that fact that she died from her injuries makes this all the more tragic.
