I can't wait for the new Harry Potter movie to come out. I saw the trailer during Happy Feet and it looks awsome.
The scenes that I want to see most are:
1. The Ministry of Magic mayhem at the end of the movie
2. The D.A. meetings, they look more intense in the trailer than I thought they would be.
3. The D.A. getting caught by the Inquisitorial Squad and Umbridge.
4. The Occlumency lessons with Snape.
5. The Grawp and centaurs battle scene thing.
Those will be the one that I think I'll like the best

My favourite part is gonna be the Occlumency lessons, and the ministry scenes. But are they gonna show Harry getting posessed? And if they do, would Dan have to talk, saying let the pain stop, let him kill us, death is nothing compared to this blah blah blah?

I cant wiat for the scene with Fred and George flying out of Umbridge's office. I hope they decided to put that in there.
The Occlumency lessons should be interesting.
And the kiss =]...anxious to see how that went..
And DA meetings...
I probably could keep going on...excited for it alllL!!

The part I want most to see is the escape of George and Fred. They are my favorites of any of the characters. Also, I hope they include the fireworks going off in the castle.
Another good part to be included is Umbridge being taken away by the centaurs. To not be a death eater she was an unbelievable embodiment of evil.
I'm afraid this may be the last of Fred and George in the movies. But, I can always hope.

I am looking forward to...
[1] The DA
[2] Harry+Cho's kiss
[3] Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood
[4] The centaurs + grawp
[5] The ministry mayhem!
I think will be most interesting...
[1] Umbridges detentions
[2] The DA
[3] Occlumency lessons
[4] Ministry happenings
Will be brilliant! I can't wait for the film to come out!

OK, so the scenes I sincerely hope they don't cut are these:
* Where McGonagall implies that Umbridge is an incompetent teacher to her face (I read it and went like "Snap, giiiirl...!" Minerva's got a helluva 'tude. Gotta love her.)
* Occlumency (I mean, it HAS to be there...)
* The thestrals (..MUCH cuter than real horses.)
* Snape's worst memory (I have a sneaking suspicion that they'll give that one the boot...*cries* I fear there's no dice for the nostalgia. *sniffle*)
* Any scene featuring the Order (I have a real hard time settling on which is my fav character; Lupin, Tonks, Moody, Dumbly, Sirius...etc. They're all so great.)
* Any scene with Loony Luna
* Umbridge's detentions (..poor Harry me lad.)
* Any scenes with the D.A. (I love the D. A. I think they should focus especially on Neville making the enormous progress... Anyway, I also think they should include the bit about that crab Mariette Edgecombe getting boils or whatever she got... harr harr! And they probably will, too, seeing as it's important for the plot. Ya-ha-harr!)
* Ron joining the Quidditch team/Harry and the twins getting a ban/"Weasley is our king"/The twins' escape (how can they NOT have that??)
* the scene(s) where Cho gets all PMS-y about nothing (LOL)
* St. Mungos
..I'm sure there are loads more I'm forgetting.

born_irritating, I agree with you! Those parts of the book are all great. Unfortunately though, there're some scenes there that I know their not putting in. For example, quidditch has been completely takenout of the 5th film, they haven't even filmed it! So we'll never get to see "Weasley is our King"!!!
Also, I'm sure I heard that they haven't cast anyone as Marriette Edgecomb, so I don't know if she'll be included or if Cho will be the person who tells on the DA. I'm not as sure about the last one though, but I do know there'll be no quidditch!

The reason books are always better than the movies are because everything is put in no matter how long. In a movie its up to 3 hours, occasionaly 3 hours and 30 mins(RoTK). Lots of the best scenes are just side things that are not important to the main plot. When it comes down to the producer picking the scenes that make the movie, they are going to go with the most important scene and not always the most popular. Hopefully the public will sway they're opinion and we will have some of our favorite parts.

Great post, born_irritating! I am with you for most of these!
I'm sorry to say that the quidditch scenes aren't going to be in the movie, that was announced a while ago. But other than that, I'm really excited about those scenes!
Another scene(s) that I'm excited for is the battle sequence. That should be really thrilling! From that point on, I really hope that not a whole lot is cut. The ending, in my opinion, is always the best!

I'm wondering how at the end they will pull off harry getting angry and destructive in Dumbledore's office after Sirius dies; i can't seem to imagine how they will portray it exactly how it was in the book, on screen.
However, what i am looking forward to most is the pensieve bit when he harry meets his parents at school (i can't wait to see what Sirius, Lupin, Snape, Lilly and James all look like) as well as the detention with umbridge because i just want to know how they make harry react to the blood quill as it etches into his hand; will he scream or shout out loud or sware or just stay quiet like he did in the book?
The Thestral scene should also be quite exciting because of the conversation between harry and luna. I have also got the slight impression that instead of harry learning the name and mystery behind thestrals from hagrid in the care of magical creatures lesson he might just be told by luna in a scene when they walk with each other. Because i remember when watchin the behind-the-scenes on the internet they turn to a clip where luna says to harry "There called Thestrals" and it shows them on their own in non school uniform walking towards the forest/ or group of trees, looking up towards the sky.
Anyway - those are the scenes i hope to get the most out of.

From what I have been reading about the OotP trailer scenes, the 5th book has been butchered badly.
Among the many
spoilers I have read, a couple of the ones that pop out are - (1) that since there will be no Quidditch scenes, Ron joins Harry and Hermione in one of the forest scenes - not the way it was in the book. (2) the chocolate exchange between Harry and Ginny is not in the movie.

and, (3)
nobody gets hurt in the DoM scene. What's up with that! Neville was hurt (bloody nose), Ginny was hurt (I believe she injured her leg) and Hermione was
zapped by a DeathEater (to which Harry
exclaims that he hopes she isn't dead!) - BUT NOT IN THE MOVIE!
There are several scenes from the book that are deleted completely, or were fabricated for the movie.

I want to see the big duel at the end. It better be good and long, not short and boring. I want ACTION, man! Like a big Star Wars fight! Curses flying through the air, wands flashing, I WANT IT ALL!!! And i want to see Umbridge attacked by the centaurs.

You people are a little bit picky -
no offense, here.[b]
from what i've heard, so far the film is going to be fantastic and although there are going to be some cuts (or alot of cuts in the film), overall, the film is going to be "Awesome", or "Absolutely Brilliant" as quoted by the marvelous Daniel radcliffe himself. And i believe him!
So far i've been thinking "Right - well that Mike Newell didn't do too well with Goblet of Fire because to me i don't think it was as fun as the previous. Nevertheless, the book wasn't too thrilling either". I know, some of you might HACK me for saying this but i have reasons, i mean 'Goblet of Fire' - lets see here, the plot is of course very good in the sense that there's a marvelous twist and everything and all those important bits with Barty Crouch Jr was very interested to read. But the whole Yule Ball and Triwizard Tornament aspect was a bit ('groan') 'boring'; the set up was great but i think the action sequences got a bit weary after a while. Now, the Priory Incantartum sequence - absolutely phenominal! i was nearly speechless and in tears when i read the bit where harry sees his parents and Cedric leak out from Voldemort's wand; it was really emotional and very dramatic the way you see them like that.
Anyway...
...back to the subject!
Even though i think Mike Newell wasn't the best of actors to have for the job, getting involved with GoF, i think the was great for what it was, and that almost goes the same for Order of the Phoenix; even if they do cut out some of the bits we like that doesn't make it unsuccessful - seeing as i believ this one will be the best we have seen so far and it will definitely hit the charts.
In the end the films are not there to be exactly the same as the books; they are there to give people a completely new perspective on the Harry Potter world.
My favourite part of the film - again, i am most looking forward to - would have to be the 'Department of Mysteries' scene, alongside the part where you get to see inside Snape's worst memory, with young Sirius, James, Lupin, Wormtail, Lily and Snape altogether. I have become even more excited about seeing this part in the film because of me recently reading the Prisoner of Askaban, and it is the first time in years since i interesting the life of James, Sirius and Lupin was.

My favorite Scenes will be :
1. Harry/Cho Kissing and dating scene (they had a fragile relationship ).
2. Occlumency Lesson with Snape
3. Snapes worst Memory
3. DoM battle scenes at the end
4.Harry getting possed in his dreams (I hope that's in the movie )
5. The DA scenes definatly
6. Scenes with Grawp and the Centaurs battle scene (HAGGER)
7. Dumbledore and Voldemort battlescene - if they do it in a fluid fast paceing apparate /disapperste way and if they will do it justice .

I have heard that the final confrontation between Volemort and Dumbledore will be the best we've ever seen. According to Daniel Radcliffe and alot of Chicago viewers, the next movie WILL BE AN ABSOLUTE BLOCKBUSTER!, and also they have stated that the scene with V and D will be inspiring; the bit where harry is possesed by Voldemort is - in fact - being included and was viewed to be sensationally impressive to all those viewers in Chicago.
To add to my list of favourite parts to watch in the film i would be also looking forward to seeing Toonks in this movie. Overall, i would have to say this may be the best one they've had so far, and so i am most looking forward to seeing it all as an epic movie

You'll probably think I'm heartless when I say this but I'm actually quite looking forward to the death.

Here me out though...
What I look for in a movie is emotion and aftermath. Dan has been really great at acting grief especially in GoF but in my opinion, there is always room to improve. I'm looking forward to seeing how he handles it this time.
I'm also looking forward to the flashbacks in Snape's memories.

That should be great!
