Following a few suggestions that we've received from members over the past few months, we've decided to try something new - something that hopefully will not only get people posting in these rather quiet times between book and film releases, but that will also get people talking to fellow fans. And what better month to choose than December, festive season!

We're making it Inter-Fandom Unity month. The idea is to encourage all members to post in threads they wouldn't normally post in, to consider theories you haven't considered before, swap sides in debates, post supportively in ship and house threads you don't support, read a fanfic that wouldn't normally interest you...I'm sure you all get the gist

So if you're Harry/Ginny supporters, try popping in to the R/Hr and H/Hr threads, say something nice about their ship, contribute to the discussions going on in there. And vice versa, of course. If you're certain that RAB is Regulus Black, try considering that perhaps he isn't; consider that maybe Snape is really good/evil (depending on your point of view, of course!); consider that maybe Dumbledore isn't dead - have fun playing with different ideas! Try reading a fanfic for a pairing that you're not usually fussed on - the authors will always appreciate a bit of feedback not just on the story, but on the quality of the writing.

So come on, guys! Get talking to each other!! Let's pass some time and hopefully, with a bit of luck, the time will fly by until Christmas and we might just be in for a bit of news from JKR We usually are this time of year!!

Let's spread a little bit of Christmas spirit But most of all, have fun! And, of course, increase your post counts in the meantime...

Well, where best to kick off my participation in Inter-Fandom Unity Month then here on the IFUM thread!

I just wanted to add that I think this is an exceptional idea, and I really hope people try to reach out and bond with the little cliques that seem to form within the Potter Fandom. I think it will be fun and interesting to see other members post ideas in threads that they otherwise wouldn't. Kudos to Louise, and the many others who contributed, for shaking things up in a good way.

I feel this will help me alot, for it seems I have wiggled my way into a posting rut... and I'm hard pressed to get myself out! Its apparent that I have leveled out in my daily posting, and I have found that it is harder to find things to post about now.. perhaps this will help me break out of that track, and maybe even find a new thread for myself to attach myself to. (note: my current threads i am obsessed with are "Is Harry a Horcrux", "The Last Night of Dumbledore", "Who is Snape Really Betraying", and many more!!)

I proclaim myself an avid supporter of the Inter-Fandom Unitiy Month, and my first stop will definitely be the "Snape's an evil guy" thread (if there is such thing never been interested on that possibility). Hmm, and maybe HG/RW ship would do it too... Although i really can't think about something nice to say about that.. But well, i'm dangerously getting off-topic.

Okay, I think I'm going to try it. I'm not sure where to post though. I don't really post in any of the ship threads or anything. Maybe I should start doing that... That would be something different even if they're ships I agree with, right? Oh, I know! This might be a good time to start thinking about Snape being a good guy. I don't actually think he's bad, but I'm finding it difficult to believe he actually had a reason for killing Dumbledore. But this isn't the place to be posting all this. I'll go and find a Snape thread somewhere.

I think I was against this idea wasn't I? Or agaisnt a certain part of it anyway. Well needless to say I've come around and begun my Inter-fandom Posting thing. I'm not a shipper but I've posted in one or two of them, the minorities of course, the other threads are too big and I don't have a lot of patience to sit there and read through the posts.

Perhaps I'll now go into the Movies forum. Tried my hardest to stay out of there having no inclination to post about anything except how Cauron made a mockery of POA. But anyway.

Glad to see some members have taken to this idea.

Great! Love this idea, I am avid in Gryffindor threads, M.O.O.O.P and Pre Book 7 Discussion, now that everyone can get into them 'tis going to be more to chat about, great idea yet again!
