even though the HBP movie doesn't come out till fall 2008, its never to early to discuss what we are looking forward to our expecting in the game

personally, the thing i expect most in the game is the fight in the cave...all of the inferi come out of the lake and you have to play as harry to fight em' off........

anyone got any other ideas?
MIKOH
I think the HBP game will be really wonderful, since the book is packed with action and battles and the battle in the cave will be nice also but more important, since that book has lots of quidditch, I think that would be fun as well.
But we can't guess alot since the movie is not out yet and the games are mainly based upon the movies more than the books.
Seriouslysirius
I think the HBP prince game should be good.

With all the fights and new spells in it. I hope it's free range..

I want the battle with the inferi in it the most because that will be hard no doubt.

I have a list on what I hope will happen in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Video Game!

*the only playable characters are Harry, Ron, and Hermione biggrin.gif

*you will be allowed to duel anytime you want like a dueling club! smile.gif

*explore around Hogwarts/Grounds

*interact with various people

*be able to explore The Burrow

*Endless Day!

*When you cast a spell like Stupefy, you will actually send the person flying instead of them just sitting there and say ouch until they are knocked out!

*do lessons and classes anytime you want!

*apparation test!

*oh yeah and explore Hogsmeade

*make it as canon as possible

I have a lot more I would want in the game to, but don't want to list them! What do you think of my list!

P.S. I could not find any Harry Potter video game threads so I hope I can add this to the Harry Potter 6 movie threads! sad.gif

LittleHermoineGranger
omg thats perfect. i didnt like the goblet of fire game because you couldnt explore hogwarts! i was so disapointed but that one sounds perfect! smile.gif
James Bond
I don't think there will be even a 5th game
trevors_protector
James bond first of all u cant do one liners (just sayin) and second, why wouldnt they make a 5th game if they already ANNOUCHED THEY WERE and there are screenshots of it and everything? sorry this is way off topic but i just had to say something. shutup.gif
TH3 CHOS3N ON3
I think the HBP will be cool because there is the chance
of the apparation classes the Half Blood Prince potion
book with sectumsempra. You know what would be cool
is if like for 360 you could say spells into the headset and
they would be cast in the game.
Felipe_Black
Have you played Canis Canum Edit (Bully)? I think if EA used this sort of Game Engine, this would allow them to include large areas for you to explore, all of the major and minor elements of the plot, as well as side missions and extras.

I would like to see some missions in areas like Hogsmead, little Whinging and Diagon Alley as well as those that you have suggested
Xxfrankee-babyxX
I think that the idea of exploring the areas in the game are the most appealing thing. The fact that in the GoF game you were not allowed to explore put people off. I thaught the game was rubbish and a BIG let down from the others. I'd like to explore. And also leanr different spells because you seem to learn the same spells in every single game and it gets tedious. Also I dont like the spell challenges. I want it to be like the REALLLLLY old version of the phillosophers stone game. Where you had to press buttons in the right combination. That would make a good game.

HI IM NEW HERE YA I AGREE WITH YOUR LIST AND I HOPE YOU CAN DO QUIDDICTH WHEN YOU WANT(SINCE HARRY IS THE CAPTAIN AND ALL) also u gat to pick the team
Prongs07
Speaking of Quidditch, I hope it's not nearly as boring as it has been, e.g., flying through rings to catch the snitch. It would be so awesome it were more like "Quidditch World Cup," where there were at least freer movements and you weren't just the seeker.
Yeah. That would make my day.
Harry Will Survive
I beat the 5th game in a day... it was way to easy. Spells were simple.. but i enjoyed playing it.

The Horcrux battle will be intense..
I hope you have a better selection of spells this time.
departed_soul
I hope there can be some Quidditch in this one, as well as a task for the Apparition test. It would be cool to have a potions minigame, so that for each potions class you attend, you are required to make a different potion and must follow the Half-Blood prince's instructions.

Crucio
I'd REALLY like to go to The Burrow in this one, I'd also like to have soething to do with the hogwarts express... I can't remember if there was anything to do with it in the book... been such a long time since I read it.
trtrzgunners
6th one would get task like potion class, quidditch, searching for Malfoy, retrieving horcrux etc.

i wanna really see the 7th one though, since it is very action packed, and is made for a very good intense game:

-the 7 potters chase-transportation/racing game
-ministry-puzzle/maze game
-Deathly Hallows-fighting monster(snake) game
-Malfoy Manor-fighting game
-Gringotts-planning strategic game
-Battle of Hogwarts-fighting/strategic/war game

in another word you got everything for the 7th one
Felix2090
I hope it will be a lot like the fifth one. Plus, I think it will because if you have noticed, the directors have a big influence on the games. The first two seemed alike, then the third, fourth, and fifth ones were different, just like the directors. So this one will be like the fifth, roaming around, rare classes. Plus, this one will probably include Quidditch.

I would also like to see some movement outside of Hogwarts, like the Burrow, the Cave, and Hogsmeade, but all being on free roam. (Except The Cave)

Heads-up! The Half-Blood Prince Game is for sale tomorrow. You KNOW I'm going buy it as soon as the doors open. It's so exciting to get a taste of the movie before it opens.

I just love exploring Hogwarts through the video games. It makes the place feel so real for me.

harryjpotter
I can't wait! I can't wait! I can't wait! I can't wait!
Two more days and the game is on sale over here. I can't wait to play it! I'm thinking of getting it for PC and PS2, depends what the ratings are for each. But on the whole it's quite exciting, I can't wait to see how they do Slughorn's party and the memories.
HBP here I come!!!
vortext
Looks like it’s rated E for everyone. The cover does suggest ages 10+. I got it for PS2 today. Very smooth action. It does an excellent job of teaching you the controller moves.

Some changes from the previous game OotP. Instead of viewing a map you can call for Nearly-headless Nick to lead you to the various classrooms. The various doorways have a helpful sign brightly lit to let you know what each leads to. There’s a slight return of collecting Bertie Botts like in GoF vid game. Instead you can collect mini-shields, which are colored just like those crazy candies.

Game begins with the unbreakable vow moment. Umm, Bellatrix is seriously hamming it up… I’m hoping the movie isn’t this overkill. Then you’re at the Weasley’s for a few more lessons. Very funny exchange between Ron & Hermione! biggrin.gif I bet it’s in the movie. Game takes over for clip of the train ride to Hogwarts with you being escorted by Luna instead of Tonks. Nice change! smile.gif

Looks like I know how I'll being spending this 4th of July!! happy.gif

I beat the game two days ago. It's pretty good. The story was a good five hours long. I have 65% of the trophies unlocked on the PS3 version. I also have 143 crests. They are very easy to find. Only four trophies till I get platinum!
AryaForce
Its already out. Wow, I'm behind. Are just limited to play Harry again like in OOTP, and with Ron and Hermione following like loyal retrievers. I enjoy being Ron and Hermione too.
Dementoid1
I'm looking forward to playing it- I haven't bought it yet as I wanted to see the film first (so I didn't get any parts in the game spoiled for me).

I like the freedom to explore the castle and grounds-I didn't really enjoy GoF as you didn't have that freedom as such. It's the only HP game that I haven't managed to complete unfortunately. dry.gif I mean, don't get me wrong, it was a good game, just not as good as the others.

But yeah, I'm really looking forward to doing potions, quidditch etc. in this one. Looks like it's going to be a good game. smile.gif
vortext
I never fully completed the PSP version of GoF either! Looks like there still some cards I haven’t nailed.

I just love doing wandering about Hogwarts via the vid games. Every time I see any HP movie it’s like familiar territory and I was really there.

I’m taking my time with the storyline, ignoring the characters to look at and seek everything. I did have to take a frustration break when I had trouble sneaking about Snape & Draco. wacko.gif I must have taken -1000 points for Gryffindor. Thanks Snape! dry.gif

I got my platinum trophy two days ago on the PS3 version of HBP. It actually felt very rewarding getting it. The master of flying and master of potions trophies gave me some trouble. But I got them eventually!

Overall I would have to say that it is the second best HP game so far. Just behind PoA.
molly_of_slytherin
i've heard quite bad reviews about it, so i'm unsure whether to buy it or not. but they were all from newspapers etc, the "proper" critics. i trust the harry potter fans more!
is it similar to the previous games? and what is quidditch like?
gamma
the game plays like the Order of the Phoenix game. I think it was a really good game, especially for a Harry Potter fan. Quidditch is on rails, all you have to do is go through the rings. I would recommend it if you are a fan. It's still not as good as the PoA game but it's still really well done.
harryjpotter
It's the best HP game so far and that's saying something since PS and CoS for Gameboy Colour and CoS for pc were all spectacular.
Myy favourite part has to be where Harry takes the Felix Felicis - pure genius! Just after he takes it and then looks at Hermione made me laugh so much! And just as in the film, Harry is super cheeky to Slughorn. I like the whole little puzzles with the shields and how to collect them and the duelling is really good. I have to admit I particularly enjoyed duelling Bella - 'that's for Sirius! Take that! And that!'

Five star game, really good fun.
Bill Weezly
sadly i still havent played it yet. i really want to though.... it looks like it's going to be really good. can you play as dumbledore like in Order of the Phoenix? that would be so cool. Dumbledore is epic.
fcdxsza123
I have the HBP game it was fun but slightly easy the story line fell flat though, the crests are really easy to find if you look hard enough. I have all the crests and I beat the game itself in three days, but really it was a fun game espicially for me because I have it for the Wii which makes it kinda hard though. biggrin.gif
Bill Weezly
but do you get to play as Dumbledore? that was the best part of the Order of the Phoenix game. Seriously, an epic duel where you have raw power on your side. i want to play that game, but not necessarily buy it, cause it sounds like the kind of game that's pretty easy to beat like Order of the Phoenix was.

Hi,
I'm just going to tell you this so you don't get it trouble- and I'm not making fun of you, I'm not meaning any harm, I'm not tending to hurt you- but it is in the rules that you are not supposed to post in all capital letters. wink.gif
Also, you do get to play quidditch and duel whenever you want, as long as your signed up for the clubs. (Which you do in the late beginning of the game.) Plus, you don't get to pick your team mates. sad.gif

Sorry, you don't. I got the game 1 or 2 months ago, but don't worry! You'll have so much fun casting spells you won't even think about playing Dumbledore wink.gif

I made a mistake by playing the game first- without reading the book or movie- and I suggest you do one of those before playing. (Just a suggestion!) wink.gif
I bought my game too! I hope you have fun playing yours- as I have had a load of fun with mine! biggrin.gif

Oh, you'll love it so much! (Quidditch is just like the real quidditch- except it's controlled by the mouse tongue.gif ) I also think you'll like dueling, crest hunting, potion making (which is really awesome just like quidditch!!!), and the other adventures you'll find throughout the game!
Have fun!! biggrin.gif

Absolutely fun bookworm_102008! I loved the new potion set-up. Before it was just Wingardium Lev. over the cauldron to change colors. Stirring and picking different potions was much more fun. Plus the Quidditch gameplay was so smooth!

BTW I never read GoF when I first saw it, it's a completely weird movie without any reference. I now wonder how non-readers view the movies. It was like seeing Twilight, I kept hearing audience members explaining things to their friends.

Hello

thank you .

I finished the game in just a few days. (I mean the part with the storylines and stuff, i am now exploring Hogwarts.) It is fun while it lasts... in story mode. But if you ask me, i think there was a little too much on the three mini-games (potions, Qudditch and Dueling). It is way too short.

What i like:
-Great Graphics
-Fun mini-gmaes (not too much of them!)
-Nick (thanks, Nick!)
-Music

What i didn't like:
-Too short
-Voice-overs were horrible
-I don't get to see Hermione and Ron as much as the Ootp game. In fact, when you're exploring, i don't get to see any characters in HBP!
HJP/HJG_TrueLove
No, I didn't get the game but I just want to know if it's really worth the money. What console is preferable for this game, probably the Wii like Order of the Phoenix but I have no idea... What did everyone think?
Hermione17
I just got the HBP game yesterday for the playstation3 I didn't want to buy it for my PS2 because the graphics and games are just better on PS3.

I LOVE the game! There are so much more interactive things, like potions. You actually have to follow the ingredients and you also stir , heat and shake the ingredients to make a proper potion.

Quidditch is really fun for me too. I've never been particularly good at quidditch in the other games but this game is way more fun for me in that department.

Not only do you find crests but you also get mini crests that you can accumulate to get the bigger ones. Harry does good deeds for students around the castle for crests and you also win badges and trophies.

Dueling is extremely fun! No one has beaten me and I get a lot of joy out of beating the Slytherins since they are nasty.

I agree that the voice overs aren't very good. Slughorn talks and his mouth doesn't even move! haha Oh well, it's a small price to pay for a really fun and interactive game.

I have the game on Wii and LOVE LOVE LOVE making potions. It was hard at first but sooo fun now. I just wish it was Snape there instead of Slughorn, telling me I was doing rubbish lol.

Also, the fact that you can call up Nearly Headless Nick to lead the way around Hogwarts is awesome, because I ALWAYS get lost. Hopefully they'll keep this in for the Deathly Hallows game, because although I love exploring Hogwarts - especially in OotP, you can tell they really tried hard to make Hogwarts realistic and the way it's described in the books - I don't appreciate getting lost all the time, I feel like I'm back at school for the first time.

But my god, OotP made me realise that I would kill myself if I actually went to Hogwarts. There are way too many stairs there! xx

ps. I have to disagree with Hermione17 on the Quidditch front though. I'm getting really bored of the way they do Quidditch in these games. It's been the same way since Philosopher's Stone, and I really wish they'd come up with something different.
