Hi Everyone! I'm Severely Obsessed with Severus and Languishing over Lucius, so I thought it was about time I took a Draught of Dramatic Draconian Drawls.

If Draco hadn't been a Slytherin, what House do you think he would've been Sorted into?

He is such a true Slytherin in every sense that I can't even imagine him in Gryffindor or Hufflepuff, so I'd have to say Ravenclaw. He's been noted as being almost as clever as Hermione, so he must be smart. He seems quick witted too, so I think he might fit in there fairly well.

Oooh, great question, Karina! I'll take a stab at that.

I know that once in an interview, Tom said he wasn't really like Draco at all. That Draco doesn't like to work hard, that he's obsessed with his appearance, etc.

I do think Tom has some traits in common with our Draco though. For one, since he's acquired his new, glamorous girlfriend, Jade Olivia, he seems a lot more interested in presenting himself to the public and looking sexy whilst doing it. And...it works. lol

But I do think Draco does work hard. He's got natural talent but it isn't all from that. Dunno where he gets that idea that Draco isn't a hard worker. Being devious takes a lot of mental work! Tom works hard, too. Even when he has time off, it's not time wasted. He works in his yard or on his house, he works on his music, cares for his dog, Timbre...he works hard and those are the tweets I like best of his--when he's just being himself.

Tom is also a bit of an attention..., well, I won't say that word, it's naughty. Not in a bad way, don't get me wrong. But he's getting into expanding his career, and a lot of his tweets are urging his fans to listen to his music, or read interviews with him, etc. He's promoting himself pretty heavily. That's what he should do, I guess, considering he apparently has decided to continue in entertainment in his adulthood. But it seems so odd after the interviews of his teen years, when all he seemed to want was to go unrecognized and go fishing, or walk in the woods. I think if Draco were in the same position, he'd be a lot more aggressive about promoting himself, but Tom is still doing it, too. I kinda wish (and this is just personal opinion, he certainly doesn't have to do this, so don't hit me) Tom were a little bit more laid back, like Matt and Oliver are on Twitter--not just trying to sell himself so much of the time. I mean, we're his fans, he doesn't have to do that! He should get a publicist if he wants promotion, it looks kinda tacky when he does it, he's too famous for that by now. He's still funny and cute though.

And...cringe...Tom is like Draco in that they can both be conceited. Sorry. But Tom has said some dumb things that give it away, really. Once he said that his followers were 'a great audience.' Sorry, but audience? If anything, his fans are knocking themselves out to entertain him, so he's the audience! Also, he has added very few fans to his own following list, and those he has added tend to have rather sexy pictures. This was remarked upon to me by another of our members and when I checked, it appeared to be true. So, I guess a fan is only worth following if she's beautiful or sexy or something, which is pretty sad and the sign of a guy who could perhaps be a bit shallow when it comes to girls. That doesn't seem to be a Draco trait. Pansy was not a gorgeous girl, but he liked her anyhow.

I'm sorry if I upset any of his more enthusiastic fans, but I speak as I find.

Since Darcy covered lots of ways in which Tom and Draco are alike, I'll confine my answer to the ways in which I think they differ. Except, I'll just add that they both look great in a suit!

So, first off, Tom seems to be well adjusted and to have come from a very normal family, which of course, is the opposite of Draco. Also, Draco is always bragging about his father, sort of living off of the reputation of Lucius and of the Malfoy name, whereas Tom is working hard to make a name for himself.

From Twitter, I've gathered that Tom occasionally cleans his house and does yard work, and albeit infrequently, cooks! Can you imagine Draco doing anything like that? He'd just yell for his house elf and then criticize the poor critter for not doing it to his standards.

Finally, Draco seems to always be in a foul mood and is only cheery when he's made someone else feel miserable. Tom, however, seems quite chipper in general. It even comes through in his songs; they're so happy!

On a sad note, though, I am realizing just how not impressed I am with Tom Felton since I started following his Twitters. I won't go into why, I said some about it here, but there's more. However, if you're a fan of his, that's cool. I'm just not any more. He's not the person I thought he was.

Anyhow, since this is the Draco Malfoy/Tom Felton fan club, and I no longer consider myself a fan of Tom's, I think it would be best for me to step down permanently as the President of DODDD. Is anyone else up to the challenge? I'm sure some might be--after all, my discussion questions always sucked, many of you had far better ones! I don't think I'd be hard to replace (and exceed!).

Please PM me if you'd like to be considered. I still love Draco, so I'm going to be pretty careful in choosing. Things in your favor will be your posting history, how interested you are in Draco, and whether you'll have the time to give the character the attention he deserves. If you have jobs or studies which take you out of commission for months at a time, this might not be the best position for you.

I think it would be fun to read the books from Draco's point of view, but only after we've read them the way they were originally written, because Draco's account of things might be a bit skewed. I would be very interested to read about his home life, because we just don't get enough of that in the books; how he was raised, how much of his personality was drilled into him by his parents and how much of it was based on his own personal beliefs. Also, it'd be revealing to find out if he "put on" some of his behaviors, like picking on Harry, Hermione, Ron, etc., because it was expected of him or if he really was that nasty.

If JKR wrote them, I would definitely buy them!

I would definitely buy and read them. Draco is such a misunderstood character who is in pain so much of the time towards the end. It would be nice to see the change that took place;I'd like to see how he went from spoiled and arrogant, to confused and pained. I think it would get old after awhile hearing about his pure blood family and how good they think they are. But with his perspective, we would further be able to see and understand the Dark side. Everything from Voldemort to his family's history.

I would like, as lisasnape said, to see more of Draco's life at home. I would most certainly read, buy, and treasure the books just as I have the ones from Harry's POV! Draco is a very diverse character and having a look at the world from his perspective would help us understand this misunderstood character.

As it is, maybe Tom has room to grow. I do think he needs to do some growing up. Not that I'd wish the School of Hard Knocks on anyone. But he's pretty clueless about other people's lives,and the difficulties thereof, or he just plain doesn't care. But for now he's not my favorite person.

I would definitely read Draco's POV. I do remember that, quite awhile ago on VTM, some one was attempting to write Draco's story, starting from Book One. What a HUGE undertaking! I'd love to try it. So many questions...whoa. Like, when Crabbe turned on Draco, I mean, what brought that on? Did it come out of the blue, a complete surprise, or had it been brewing awhile? What was it really like having LV staying under one's own roof? How did it feel to see Lucius so beaten down--it must have been awful. I think Draco's story could be every bit as rich as Harry's, but from a completely different perspective.

Either mint chocolate chip or a double dark chocolate. I don't even think that exists, but you get the point. The reason I picked double dark chocolate for Draco is because it has a really rich flavor and is very full. It sort of reminds me of Draco is why I picked the flavor for him. Sometimes people's preferences are indicative. It can be a good analogy.

Lime sherbet. And no, not because it's green! Because it's a kind of bitter, but for some reason, it tastes so good! And that's a bit like Draco (except I didn't mean he tasted good ). He's cold, yet you just can't stay away!

Mint chocolate chip because it seems that he would be like that. the green could represent the bit of kindness in him and the brown\ black the bit of evil in him.

I can't picture Draco actually working. I think he would do much the same as Lucius does: bribe people at the ministry and possibly serve on a board of some kind. It seems the Malfoy's have quite a fortune, so I don't think Draco would need to work. Of course he could if he wanted to, but somehow, I don't think he wants too!

Draco wouldn't settle for anything less than Minister of Magic! Even though he does have enough money for both him and his children to not have to work, as lisasnape said, I imagine that Draco wouldn't be able to resist the tempation that the power of the Minister of Magic's office holds. He wouldn't try and start up the whole let's-kill-all-the-Mudbloods campain again, though. I'm pretty sure Hermione pounded enough respect of Muggleborns into him to stop ideas like that in their tracks!

I don't know, with Draco...propbably something that would match his personality. Like for example, he could work in the Department of Mysteries. That department is shrouded in darkness and mystery and a bunch of other really cool stuff that anyone would associate with Draco. However, Sister does make a good point. He somehow does seem as though he would settle for nothing less than the best and most commanding position. Because like she said, even though he is rich and probably could get off without having to work at all. But who could resist all that power?

Ice cream. Ice cream? It would definately have to be something really cold. Besides the temperature, I would say that it would have to have mint in it. So like most of you guys have said, yeah, maybe it would be something like mint chocolate chip. Or maybe something daring and crazy like lemon-lime? I don't know. I just really can't see Draco eating ice cream for some reason. But I'm sure it would be a great flavor, and unique too. Just like him.

I think that the HP books from Draco's POV would be great. I actually would enjoy having some insight into the way he has of looking at things. Not to mention all that jealousy he has toward Harry. It would be nice to get inside Draco's head. However, something I wouldn't like about them in Draco's eyes, things would seem sort of one-sided, you know what I mean? It would be as though there would be only Draco's opinions and you wouldn't really have much of a chance to see what the other characters are doing and what they think. Would I read them? Yes. Would I buy them? Definately.

I think that Tom does very well in his role as Draco. He does somehow seem to have that same thirst for attention but at the same time he wants to set himself apart from Malfoy. He seems to want people to know him as a bit more than just Draco. And we all know Draco wouldn't have a taste for music as much as Tom does. Seems more a Felton thing than a Malfoy thing.

I imagine he likes summer because he gets time off from school and having to be with all those filthy mud-bloods, half-bloods and blood traitors. But, I think he would like autumn too because he gets to go back to school and be the most popular student in Slytherin. Winter would have it's advantages too, with Christmas break and all those Christmas presents. And who doesn't like spring after being cooped up all winter?

Sorry, I couldn't decide, but I think he would like them all because of the ways that they each enrich his life.

Well, I think he likes autumn the best, because it's cold but still has life and personality, like he does. Winter is OK, because it's cold and indestructible (sp?) just as Draco wants his mask of coldness and down-with-Mudbloods attitude to be. Spring I can imagine he would appreciate, because who doesn't like to watch the flowers slowly bloom?

But summer.....

I don't think Draco likes summer too much, just because it means seeing his father. I don't think Draco really liked Lucius all the much, but just copied whatever he did so that Draco himself could continue what was considered "the Malfoy way".

I agree! I think his favourite season is autumn because he is free of his parents, can be the best pure blood in Slytherin which absolutely begs for bragging and everything is kind of dead and not all that cheerful. Winter can be the same because the snow kills everything, spring is the least favourite I personally think because Draco is not exactly all for the newborn animals or the new flowers and buds! I don't really know about summer though.....

It does seem a bit quiet doesn't it? I sort of miss all the screams from all those fan-girls and I think that Draco/Tom would be missing them too, if they knew. Okay so now to the question at hand:

How much do you think Draco likes each season? Why?

Winter: It's cold. It's snowing. It's Christmas time. What's not to like. Except maybe he might not like that he would have to spend time with people who either don't like him or if they do...for the wrong reasons. Still though I think this season would be reasonably liked by him. If not enjoyed.

Spring: Yay! Everybody's happy. Except Draco. I personally don't think that happy lovey-dovey seasons would be good and the only good think about this one would be getting all that attention whereas his father at home would just try to keep out of his son's way.

Summer: I agree with Sister on this one, personally, I don't think that he would like to have to spend so much tilme ''under his father's wing''. Although his mother might give him some attention, it would be trying and quite boring to be constantly putting up with following ''the Malfoy way''.

Fall: School again. Who doesn't love being popular? Honestly. I would think that he would definately like this season. It's the start of a new year at Hogwarts...new first years to pick on. New things to do. Endless attention from all the Slytherin girls. And maybe secretly some from girls in other houses. I don't know, I just think that fall is definately one of Draco's more favorite times.

Hmmm... Well, summer can't have been all that fun. An only child, stuck in a huge mansion with basically nothing to do except homework. Winter has its bonuses; for one thing, there's ample oppurtunity after the Christmas holidays to show off all the amazing Christmas presents he would have recieved, but somehow... I don't see Draco being a 'Christmas' person, if you get what I mean. Spring, tralala, another holiday, everyone happy, blah blah blah, summer approaching, whatever. Autumn however... I love all the ideas floating around! I, too, like Snapefan21's idea of sending Tom a message on Twitter. I personally don't have an account, but if someone could send one in from DODDD, that would be great!

I'm a bit iffy about the whole create-an-avatar thing, though. As has been said before, not everyone knows how to create an avatar or a signature. Sorry to burst the bubble of everyone who liked that idea..... Maybe we could do a collective fanfic. The fifth of June..... it would be just the end of the school year. Maybe the Slytherins threw a party for him? Did they forget about Draco's birthday? Hmmm..... what do you people think?

Ugh, I hate to be the one to shoot all these wonderful ideas, but I don't think creating a wallpaper would be the best of ideas. As with the create-an-avatar idea, not everyone knows how to make one. Perhaps some (like me) don't even know what a wallpaper is! Do you mean a background, like for Twitter or VTM, or an actual wallpaper to paste up on the wall of thier house?

I'd be sad if we only did something like that but it might be fun to do as a sort of on the side thing. I know a fanfiction idea is a bit... I don't know, cliche, but they're always fun to read and write! Or how about if someone wrote a special quiz (this could either be for Draco or for Tom's birthday) and then the person who gets the most questions right gets to feel very smug and Hemione-like because they are the source of all knowledge. The Twitter idea for Tom's birthday is a really good idea though. That would be a really nice thing to do.

The good thing is that we've got a while to prepare for both events, so we'e got time to ge through quite a few suggestions.
