What do you reckon would happen in JkR just decided not to write the last book? Do you think everybody’s curiosity would kill them or do u think we’d all just forget and find something else to dote on?

I think I would be quite miffed off, but I guess I’d just find something else to ‘dote-on’ either that or write my own ending…which would be where Voldie dies at the end and Snape becomes Head teacher and ye all this crazy stuff…

I would be absolutely FURIOUS! She spent YEARS writing such an awesome series, and just decides to end it right then and there!?!?! It's absolutely not like her at all...but if it really did happen, I'm going to hunt her down and kill her! (just kidding) But I wouldn't be surprised if she receives death letters from past fans...

Ha, imagine me sitting at my computer for the rest of time writing theories about a book that never were to exist.

I would be absolutely outraged if J.K. Rowling stopped writing the books, and let's face it... if she made the decision to quit, she'd probably be putting her personal safety in jeopardy.

I guess I would try to write my own ending to the series (one in which Voldemort and Pettigrew both die, of course), but it definitely wouldn't be the same as reading the real thing.

One thing's for sure -- I would NOT find something else to "dote on!" I am strictly a Harry Potter fan!

I think that I would slowly begin to go insane if I didn't know what was supposed to happen in the end... I really ought to stop thinking about this right now; it makes me depressed...

I really don't think she'd do that...so many people would be furious with her, and I'm not just talking fans....I'm talking publishing houses, WB, publicists, agents.....

Plus, if she did do that, I reckon then that she should sign the rights of the books over to another author who might be willing to finish the series off for her...just as long as they include her original idea for the ending, you know?

Anywho, I reckon this is all moot....the only thing that would prevent her from finishing the series would be something happening in her personal life because at the end of the day, it's her family and her life that are the important things. The books are great and millions of people would be upset, but hey...some things in life are more important and I'm sure that the majority of fans would understand that.

But I don't think she'd quit anyway.....

if people really were her fans then i dont think they would hunt her down and kill her...it just wouldnt be right.
anyways, if she didnt finish the series, i dont know what i would do. probably read fanfics forever, trying to guess which one is most like the ending JKR would've written.

I always wondered what if (heaven forbid) she died in like a car crash or freak accident before she finished the books (it would be bad enough if she died but ::shivers:: I don't that I could stand it...)

haha, but seriously! Certainly people wouldn't just forget about it. If that was so, she wouldn't have attained the stardom she has now because of the books. Not many writers become so sucessful and famous, and those that do must be pretty darn good in order to get it.

Think about it. How many times before have you picked up a book, in the genre that you read. One that you never read by the author before, but now that you have you wonder why you never heard of him/her! It's amazing how many talented authors there are out there, and yet how many are not truly publically known.

As for myself, I would be utterly crushed. It would annoy me to no end. But I guess we all could just make up an ending, huh? In our heads...hmmm that wouldn't be too bad. Least it could end how you wanted it to.

my friend and i decided that if she kills ron (I got very upset: when she was asked "what job will ron get when he leaves hogwarts?", she replied with "well thats assuming that he lives to the end of the series ) then we will never forgive her, lose all respect for her, and make her regret it for a very looooong time. I kinda hope harrys friends die. I dunno, i never did like Harry, just because of his whole, oh my god my parents were murdered by Voldermort, and im milking it for all i can". Then, maybe the order will start being picked of.

I think in the last book, Harry and Voldermort will be duking it out, and then Voldermort will ut of his hand, and be all "Harry, i am you Uncle." Harry will be all 'Nooooooooooooooooo' and kill him. Then burn his body.....

If J.K Rowling didn't finish the series many people would be furious with her. It would take me a long time before I got over the fact that she isn't going to finish them. I would probably get together with my friends and we would all make up our own ending to the series. I would end it with Voldemort dying, Ron and Hermione getting married, and Harry not getting married at all.

if she didn't finish the books i would just do something like march right up to her door and demand she finish writing them. i wouldn't leave till she started working. it would be a worldwide disaster.

I would help rally all HP fans and call the News Media and demand a press conference with JK and have her tell us what happens. If she refuses (what for???) we would then hold a piket rally outside her home and follow her around EVERYWHERE until she caved. That's my plan. Who is with me!!!

hmmm... it would be VERY unwise of JK not to write book 7. if she did that to publish some other book, i'm sure many fans would simply boycott her new work in order to discourage her from writing anythng else before completing the HP series. at least that's what i would do. i know that's mean, but i was pretty frustrated when i found out that she had been writing other stuff between 4th and 5th books.

I beleave that there might be a war. There are somany people around the world that relie on HP to keep them sane. People use it as a way to relax after a long day, to help them excape the world that is being so harsh to them at the time, and for insperstion. I would force myself to be lockd in a room where I could harm nobody. I would probably even ask for a straigh jacket. JK would probably be kidnaped and forced to write the last book. People would probably jump at the oportunity to make their own version. It would first come to everyones atention on the news and then it would begin.

I would scream, and shout, and throw a tantrum, and yell, and join an anti Harry Potter club. Basically I would be like Harry in Dumbledor's office after coming back from the Department of Ministries!(I'm such a geek!)

I dont think that JKR would just leave us with only 6 books and an unfinished series unless something tragic happens like a death or something heaven forbid but if something DID come up I mean I think most people would understand..she needs to take care of herself and her new family before she worries about a book...

I definitely don't think JKR would do that, but if she did, there would be a lot of anger and a lot of tears. There would probably be riots and protestors. It would be chaos. I, personally, would be absolutely crushed , because I could never replace Harry Potter with some other obsession. I don't know what I would do...I don't even want to think about it...

I have thought of something else. If JKR didn't finish the books (exception of she died or some other tragedy) she wouldn't be able to leave her house. If she left her house she would be hounded by people who were angry at her for not finishing. That and i would be furious because she can't just leave us hanging now that she has written book six and we know more about everything. I would have to join the BBP club with Vickylizzy.

this would be beyond horrible. I don't know if I could handle not getting to see how J.K.R. envisions the ending. I believe that it would be like when Sir Arthur Conan (Spelling?) Doyle killed off Sherlock Holmes. I believe she would get death threats (sadly enough) and that she would have to eventually break down and write the last book just to get people (like me) to stop nagging her. she would definitely not want to consider doing this (if she can help it). Now, if something happened to her, it would be different. we would have to live with it and probably have to put up with a lot of people doing it on there on and having it published. that could be interesting. we could see how all sorts of people would finish the work if they were JKR.

Of course J.K Rowling is going to finish the story. She would be very foolish if she didn't because she signed a contract saying there are 7 years at Hogwarts. If she didn't finish she would owe a lot of money.
