HP-Deathly-Hallows
Jan 4 2007, 08:06 PM
I think that every Potter fan has a book they know most about, every secret, every event. Mine is the Order of the Pheonix.
Second is the Half Blood Prince.
Third is the Prisnor of Azkaban
Fourth is the Goble of Fire
Fifth is the Philosophers Stone
Sixth is The Chamber of Secrets
And obviously at the moment Seventh is The Deathly Hallows
What about you?

I think mine might be the Half blood Prince.. Not just because it's the most recent but i have probably read it the most times... Though i'm quite good with the rest.. Because i have been able to give my cousions a Harry Potter quiz. With some difficult questions about the books.

Mine would be the Half-blood Prince. I can hardly remember what happens in the others, and i've read Hafl-blood Prince heaps of times. Then i guess it would be the first, then second, then fifth, then third and then fourth. Maybe.

I probably know the most about Goblet of Fire because i have read it a lot of times because it is my favourite one so i take more interest into it. Second would be Prisoner of Azkaban. Third would be Order of Phoenix. Fourth would be Half Blood Prince. Fifth would be Philosophers Stone. Sixth would be Chamber of Secrets and obviously seventh is Deathly Hallows since i haven't read it.

Well, i've read all the books more than three times and i know every little detail. Like i know the prophecy by heart and also the chapter titles of all the books. (Crazy innit?

) But i guess i know GoF the best.
2nd is OotP
3rd is HBP
And the other two books are the last. Well, i can say CoS is last, it has been a long time since i read those two

Ok,here goes mine:
First would be PoA,I love the part where he meets Sirius and where the story goes twisted..The innocent will turn out to be a villan and the villan would turn into out to be an innocent person..
Second comes GoF,where they mature and start giving attention to their love life and yes!mostly because LV returns..And the killings start from that series..
Third comes OotP,where Harry knows what to do and gets angry easily.Umbridge too!I never met any cruel person like her!
Fourth would be SS because that's where Harry realizes that he is a wizard..
Fifth is CoS,where I meet the Basilisk.I've never heard of this animal before!
Sixth..HBP.I don't know why I made it last..maybe because JKR had killed Dumbledore..

my "specialty" book is definitely PoA... I actually lost count after reading it 21 times...
I used to be able to recite the first chapter... *cough* *cough*
it's not my favourite anymore though - I mean, there aren't quite as many tantalising hints about HPDH in it.. and 13 year old Harry just isn't as mature as 16 year old Harry...
PoA is somewhat of a peculiar book.. We find out a lot more about Lily and James' death circumstances, as well of course are introduced to the Mauraders... but Voldemort is mysteriously absent!
Sometimes I wonder if there really is something more significant about PoA than meets the eye.. it has been speculated that a Horcrux is found in every book, but no guesses as to what was found in PoA...
Perhaps the most mysterious part of PoA is the time-turner... how important is time in the magical world of HP?? ...

This is an interesting thread! Good idea!
I think my speciality would go something like this:
First would be Order of the Pheonix - that is my absolute favorite book and I read it whenever I can get my hands on it... I've read it too many times to count. Although, my apsolute favorite character dies in it, I still love it!
Second would be Half-Blood Prince - a very close second. I love to read that book. I read this one mainly on car rides. My brother told me the ending the first time I read it, so that kind of ruined it... But it's still an excellent book!
Third would be Prisoner of Azkaban - it's an amazing book and we get introduced to Sirius! Who wouldn't love that?!
Fourth is Goblet of Fire - I love the triwizard tournament! It is a really good addition to everything else that goes on. Although the graveyard scene is heart-wrenching, it's still a great book!
Sorcerers Stone and Chamber of Secrets are kind of at a tie for fifth. I really didn't like the first two because not a lot of action happened in it. And we didn't really divilulge into the character's personalities. Don't get me wrong, they're great books, but I don't read them as much...

I think mine is Goblet of Fire. After that it's Order of the Pheonix and Halg blood Prince tied. 3rd comes Chamber of Secrets and then Prisoner of Azkaban. Last comes Philisopher's stone.
I don't know anything certain about Deathly Shadows so I can't really place it on the list, seing that it isn't finished yet.

Mine would have to be PoA in first place. Itr is my favourite book. I don't know second third and all that. The rest are really equal. I can't wait for Book 7

I specialise in all the books, but i'm more into the OoTP, because it plays a big influence on the growing up part of the trio. In fact, i've read to many times that i've lost count - And i simply luv it because it introduces new themes that we've never experienced in the other books, e.g the prophecy, lily & james pensieve relationship, Order of the phoenix, department of mysteries, dumbledore's 'secret' from harry.

Mine (I wont include deathly hallows) would have to be OotP because i have read it so many times and i love that one. then HBP then PoA then GoF then the rest of them.

Jan 30 2007, 04:58 PM
mine would probably be GoF. I dont know why. You can ask me anything about it ( to a degree ) and I could give you a full answer. I think it depends gow many times you've read the book. I spose that you get to understand a book more every time you read it.

I don't know ... my dad found a HP questionar book for the first 4 books, and he's always firing questions at me, and i can always answer every single one! Even the hard one's ...
I'd say probably PS. I've read it the most and know quite a few of the chapter titles by heart, along with a few quotes. Then Maybe PoA. It's my favourite book, and i love everything in it. Then ... GoF. Geez this is difficult ... then maybe OotP, then CoS last.
I think that's right.

I definitely specialize in books 4 and 6. I think mostly 4 the only thing im not great at in 6 are the spells. Seeing as they are my two favorites I read them more intently. But yeah i know a lot about book 1 as well.

I'm going to have to say that since I've read it about half a dozen times, I specialize in Half Blood Prince. It doesn't hurt that it, in my opinion, has one of the most appealing story lines so it's easier to memorize because I'm drawn to it.
Following HPB, I'd have to say GoF, then OOtP, then CoS, then PoA, then finally PS because it's been so long since I've read it.

i specialize in the 3,4,and 5th cause they are basicly my favorite books and i think they are the best and like most interesting so i pay extra attention to them

Mar 6 2007, 02:49 AM
I would have to say all the same... I ahve read them all the same amout of times. (5) Except, I can remeber things from CoS like Ginny's valentine to Harry, I have it memorized, I also gave my friend a two page quiz on it...I knew all the answers without use of the book. I knowthings like the meresong from GoF by heart. But I absolutely love the third book. It is the most unique, I think out of the others... It has a topic other than Voldemort. In the fifth, and sixth books, I mainly have quotes memorized. I probably know all the books the saem, except of course DH.

In SS, I remember all the mirror of erised stuff, and all the events at the end involving 'Through the Trapdoor' pretty well. I can never make up my mind..... So once more I say propbably I know all of them the same.

My specialty book would be HBP and OotP. i found those books most interesting and therefore have read them more. PoA is next because we really learn something about James and Lily in it. and also the animagous thing is awesome.

For me I would say Golbet of Fire because I have read the book numerous times and I consider it to be my favorite (so far) in the series. I love Goblet of Fire and most people can tell you that I specialize in that particular book. If I were to put the books in order of which books I specialize the most in, it might look something like this:
1. Goblet of Fire
2. Half-Blood Prince
3. Order of the Phoenix
4. Prisoner of Azkaban
5. Philosophers Stone
6. Chamber of Secrets
I suppose I should re-read Chamber of PS to try and become an expert at those books.

Mar 6 2007, 07:57 AM
i'd have to say the fourth book. i've read it the more the the 5th and 6th books and its the one i just finished reading. i'm pretty sure i know the book in and out. then again everytime i re-read these books there are new little things that i pick up on that i never noticed before. thats why i'm so excited to read the 6th one a couple more times. i know i'll be pulling theories out of my ears.

Definitely books 1 and 3 but more leniant toward 3.
It's weird that I like the first and third whereas other readers prefer the last few books. I dunno, the last few were just gushy and not very adventurous as much as the first three. My specialty IS book 3 (I've read it about 13 times) and I know the book backwards, forwards, up, and down. I know book 1 pretty well too (but not as well as book 3).

Wow. This was a great idea for a thread!
Sorry, I'm going to be boring and say that I've read and analyzed each book countless times, and, again, being boring, I'ld have to say that my expertise is on the Half-Blood Prince.
The whole thing with Malfoy and Snape just really intrigues me... I love the mystery and such associated with the Slytherin household.
Next would be the Order of the Phoenix... I'm re-re-re-re-re-reading that one now and every time I read it I feel as though I learn something new.
Third is probably the Chamber of Secrets... once again, for that lure of the heir of Slytherin.
Fourth is the Goblet of Fire... I still feel as though I'm pretty good on that one, just not quite as much as the others.
Fifth would be the Prisoner of Azkaban... same rationale as Goblet of Fire.
Honestly, was there any sort of mystery/secrets/little insignificant details in the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone? To me it seemed purely introductory and merely a basis for what was yet to come.
On the note of expertise, does anyone have any suggestions for books or websites that have excellent, difficult Harry Potter "trivia" (for lack of a better word) questions?

mine would most likley be Order of the Phoenix because I've read it 98 times now cover to cover and I know it back to front .then I would probably put Half Blood Prince next because I've read it 78 times haha

after that is the Order of the Phoenix
specially the part when the dementors showed up
and the part of Dumbledore telling him about the prophecy

I have to say I specialize in every book. Each one of them is interesting and intruguing to me in its own way. I've read each of them
countless times. If I must pick a single book, I'd probably say Order of the Phoenix. It's my favorite book of the series (

) and I read it more than the others for the most part, and like with all the books, try to pay a lot of attention on details.

I would say my specialty lies within the Half Blood Prince, because it was, to me, the main book to were I only put it down when it was forceably pried out of my hands. Secondly, I would say PoA. Then OOtP, CoS, GoF, and SS.

My number one book would probably be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
My second book would then be Harry Potter and the Half Blood prince. Although ive read the books about 20 times lol. If anyone has anything to say about those books in my school or something, im like the person to argue about it with them, or quote some lines lol. My specialist film is Prisoner of Azkaban.. I like know every line in every scene. I really , really annoy my friends by pretending to sound like harry going "Peter pettigrew" LOL

Mine would be the first book. In fact i memorized the first paragraph of it. The reason why i know the first book the best is because i can't just pick up a book in the middle, i always have to start from the beginning. I love the first book, because it reminds me of the first time i was introduced to harry potter, but my fave book is currently HBP

Hmm... I'm not sure about the order of the last two..

My speciality book would have to PoA, i have read it so many times and could probably tell you everything about it, in the HP quiz books we have at home i can answer every PoA question in it. it is also my favourite book which probably helps alot. I dont know the order after that probably order of the pheonix, goblet of fire, half blood prince, then philosophers stone and chamber of secrets but i dont know in what order and then obviously deathly hallows last as it hasnt come out - not long now though

Mine would probably be DH because it was the most recent one I've read, and I've read it three times and know it front to back.
The second one is Order of the Phoenix, because I know that book with my eyes closed

hehe. All books are great, but those stand out to me.
