hey guys, yes Amanda.. I'm here.. vaguely wacko.gif having a bit of a rough time at the moment, so I can't post as much as I'd like to, but hopefully things should ease up a bit soon and we'll all be able to get the thread going again! after all... it is the best thread ever happy.gif

Do you feel that the news of Dumbledore's coming out will impact the way Micheal Gambon portrays Albus Dumbledore in HBP or Deathly Hallows? What do you think the strong point of HBP will be for Michael Gambon as he portrays Dumbledore? (Which scene)
I really hope it doesn't, Id hate for the character to become really melodramatic and foolish. Dumbledore wasn't any different in the book (whether that is because Jk hadnt decided then or not is debatable...) so I don't see why he should be any different on screen. If it did add something, Id like that to be the fact that he has loved and knows what love is. Though, he understands the value of love so much that It would be impossible for him to have never experienced it..
As for Gambons strong points.. I think that the tower scene will be really wonderful. I believe he can do it, and do it well and it will be an amazing scene. Its something that, if done correctly, will capture the loss, and the sacrifice that Dumbledore has lived with for a very long time. Its the eyes that should do it.. If Gambon can get that look into his eyes, he needs nothing more.

--Do you think Dumbledore believe in anything after death (e.g. heaven, reincarnation etc)?
This is a really difficult one.. because we will all tend to reflect our beliefs in Dumbledore. Personally, I think he believed in the power of human spirit, and whatever that could bring. He knows that death isnt always the complete end, ghosts wander about hogwarts. However.. I think he would believe that if you wanted to be a ghost or spirit, you could be.. if you wanted to hang around until the right time, then you could- Kings cross is an example of this. Most of all, I think he would believe that if you welcomed peace, then you would find it, whether that be in your own heaven, or in another lifetime, or just in a state of peace and stillness. This belief in the power of humans is what makes him such a wonderful person.

And.. Im ignoring the second question for obvious reasons wink.gif

--What item would you leave at Dumbledore’s tome this Christmas?
I would leave a picture, magical and moving, of course, of all of the people that survived the war. It would also have the people that died in the background, smiling and laughing, and it would be there to remind Dumbledore of all of the lives he saved. He always felt guilt, and a simple photograph of all of the people that love him and respect him would mean so much.
He got so much from life, but never got true peace, and hopefully knowing that people cared about him, and that he lived on in others, would give him peace.

got to rush off, can we continue a bit with the story.. Id quite like it to come to some sort of end before christmas.. so that I can put it on the WAW site.. it doesnt have to be really conclusive.. just interesting and effective! If that's impossible.. please let me know tongue.gif

I have to say initially that I actually dont like Gambon's potray of DD. It's not bad or anything but just not as good as Harris'.
I dont really feel like he is DD really therefore I have to say it wont impact him at all that DD is gay. It doesnt impact him that DD is actually funny and witty either...lol. If he doesnt really potray that why should he potray the gay thing...any way I dont know if that changes a person really...just because he was gay it doesnt mean that he has odd attributes now or anything...he is just DD...but Gambon better start to do his job properly dry.gif
and for HPB...he will have to show us a little that DD is really in need of getting all the infos he has out and let Harry know as he has just a little time...we will have to feel his urgence and his...yeah kind of hurry...

--Do you think Dumbledore believe in anything after death (e.g. heaven, reincarnation etc)?
at least he knows now that he is dead that there is an after death...lol...as he isnt gone and vanished completely...
but I guess he always knew that there was heaven or somthing but I doubt reincarnation or he wouldnt have said to Harry that the dead cant come back or anything like that....he would have said..."yipp but as a cat" smile.gif

--What item would you leave at Dumbledore’s tome this Christmas?
socks because in PS/SS he said that people think he doesnt need them...
so Dobby and DD get the same form me haha happy.gif

I have deleted one of the questions from my last post because no one wants to answer it laugh.gif Come to think of it I don’t think I do either laugh.gif

Right…

Do you think Dumbledore believe in anything after death (e.g. heaven, reincarnation etc)?
Well we know that he lived to an old age which was over one-hundred and fifty therefore he must have had a lot of time to think about things in his life. I would say that Dumbledore was a debatable type of guy meaning you could have a deep and meaningful conversation with him and you could debate things, reminds me of my R.E lessons were we the class have a debate of something each week like ‘Does God exist’ or ‘Is abortion right?’. What I’m trying to say is that I imagine Dumbledore as the type of person to think things though before closing off to a decision. I therefore think he thought of what happens next after death. We all know of course that he was not afraid of death after all he said ‘Death is but the next great adventure’ (something like that, did he?) Anyway, so I think he thought about it and came to the conclusion that he would be perhaps re-joined with his mother, father and sister and to one day be joined by his brother. I don’t think that Dumbledore believed in reincarnation I can’t quite explain why as I just see Dumbledore as more of the type of person who believes that after death you join those that you love in a better place. Although I think Dumbledore would have thought about it a fair few times I can’t say I imagine him spending long thinking on it as he was not afraid, he may have been curious but no not afraid.

What item would you leave at Dumbledore’s tomb this Christmas?
Well, erm…I think I’d post something I made myself. Like a scrapbook photo album with pictures of his life in it and I would include comments from other people about what they thought of him as well as his most famous quotes. I think it will be a great little present to keep by his tome for people to look and remember him by.

I actually might just make one now…biggrin.gif

I suppose I should at least answer my own questions...

~I think if anything it will give a softness to him that some feel he misses giving to the role. I can't imagine why though...In OOTP when Harry was being possessed by Voldemort and DD looked at him...I saw a softness, a caring, a genuine connection there...and the news of his sexual orientation hadn't been an issue then. I think one of the strongest scenes other then the tower is going to be the orphanage. We get to see a younger DD with Auburn hair and his impression of Tom Riddle. We get to see his intuition.

--Do you think Dumbledore believe in anything after death (e.g. heaven, reincarnation etc)?
~I absolutely think he did. He must have in order to make a statement that Death is but the next great adventure...or something like that.

--What item would you leave at Dumbledore’s tome this Christmas?
~I would leave a pointsettia plant. I think the magnificent color of red against the pale snowy backdrop of Hogwarts would be beautiful. And assuming of course that DD could appreciate it from beyond the grave...he would like the cheery color.

Wow there are a lot of questions here... Okay, I shall select a few:

Do you think Dumbledore believed in anything after death (e.g. heaven, reincarnation etc)?
I absolutely think he did. He knew passing on was an option, what with the ghosts wandering around and all, but I think he believed that there was an after-life as such. I reckon he was quite a spiritual man, and had faith that his family and everyone else he loved would be there waiting for him when he died. Also, he knew about the resurrection stone and its powers, which could have had an influence.

What item would you leave at Dumbledore’s tomb this Christmas?
Probably just flowers I think. Or a bottle of Madam Rosmerta's mead... I shall drink to his memory!

Hello guys,

I'll just try to answer some questios. . .
it's really been a busy month for me.

Do you think Dumbledore believed in anything after death (e.g. heaven, reincarnation etc)?

Yeah, he would have believed there’s life after death as his belief goes something like this “death is yet another great adventure”.

What item would you leave at Dumbledore’s tomb this Christmas?

Definitely flowers, lots of it. Flowers brought nice scents and the sight of them could gave calmness and soothe aches. I’m having them enchanted so that they could last longer and smell more fragrantly and they will vanish and change into butterflies as they expired.

Now Clara wants the story ended near christmas so here's my go...

So before...

QUOTE
The light blinded Voldemort, it was all he could do for he had only a split second chance; he summoned the others and apparate. They landed back on Hogsmeade at doorstep of the Hog’s Head. Dumbledore almost tumbled forward, hands still clutching his heart, James got hold of him. Some silvery white smoke erupted from Dumbledore’s wand.

“It is time” whispered Dumbledore walking towards the castle.

“What are you trying to say?” asked James at his side, while everyone caught up.

“Let’s get inside the castle first” replied Dumbledore keeping his pace still more quickly.

They walk up to the castle silently, accompanied only by the swishing of their cloaks. As they entered the grounds their breaths became steadier, wands lowered, Hagrid and McGonagall meet them at the front door and they all climbed the marble staircase. Hogwarts was at it’s most quiet time, there were no students as it was summer’s break, they entered the Dumbledore’s office.

“Ah, the time has come” said Dumbledore as he settled down in his seat behind the headmaster’s desk and facing the rest.

The crowd all faced him, waiting.

McGonagall step forward and sit down in front of Dumbledore and ask “what had happened tonight? We received your patronus and as you said we waited at the great hall.” Dumbledore retold briefly about the disrupted meeting in the Hog’s Head and what had happened next.

Then “there’s something that I need to tell you, the Dark Lord is ascending, and what we witnessed tonight is just one of the weapons he is going to use in his rise to power” said Dumbledore.

“What is it?” asked Black and Potter at the same time.

“It is a most dark magic used in ancient times as a punishment to those that had used the killing curse, this is for them to see and feel remorse, but as we see tonight, Voldemort had progressed in using it” explained Dumbledore as his fingers tapping the other hand under. “He had used it instead to know the weaknesses of his enemies, thus being able to catch them at their most vulnerable” continued Dumbledore.

“What are we supposed to do and how are we going to fight it?” asked Lily.

“Ah that is what I was going to say in the meeting tonight, I was with Minerva and Hagrid when I found out about this” replied Dumbledore.

Dumbledore eyed the party with concern. His brillant blue eyes sparkled at each person, and he turned to Hagrid. Who puffed out his chest importantly.
" Hagrid and you Minerva if you could please alert the ministry, even though i beleive thier methods... somewhat errr... common. They will need to be alerted about this." Dumbledore muttered wearily.
Both nodded and left the Great Hall hurridley.
" Now where was i? Ahh... Yes. I found out something of quite concern to us all. That the very fact, that Hagrid, Minerva and myself. Have beared witness to the fact, Lord Voldemort is marshaling his forces far quicker than i had expected." Dumbledore spoke swiftly, as if reading something out of a text book.
" We have witnessed the very event that we feared to happen, from the moment Lord Voldemort began to rise to power."

" But what is it exactly?" Questioned Lilly.

For an answer Dumbledore nodded towards the door....

Well there is my go...

Merry christmas everyone!!

Hey The Master of Death, welcome to WAW! I havent been here in a while either, I'm on vacation and we went to Goa! (Gorgeous place, by the way)

So anyway....

I'll just answer the last two questions then.

Do you think Dumbledore believed in anything after death (e.g. heaven, reincarnation etc)?

Oh yeah, after death at least, I don't think recarnation. I agree with a lot of you, because he did say something like "death is an adventure itself" or something of that sort, and he knew about the ghosts, so there HAD to be something after death. Plus how would he know how to get into Harry's head after he himself died? Death is probably a whole other adventure for him.

What item would you leave at Dumbledore's tomb this Christmas?

Hmm....I would leave some licorice snaps. Or maybe Acid Pops. Or Chocolate Frog Cards. Something that he really loved, but not flowers because those are too common and usual, and DD himself was a very unique man.

Great questions, by the way

Oh and this is just spur of the moment, but Dumbledore-ette of the month can only be a girl right?

But anywho. I thought i'd ask a question.

If Dumbledore decorated his office all christmassy. What would it look like?
eg. Traditional christmas tree or something irregular.

Out of all the students who have walked through hogwarts. Which one do you think Dumbledore considers to be quite similair, to himself?
Can be male or female.

I'll answer them. When i hear what some of you guys say.

Oh by the way i have a christmas present for W.A.W... Another Dumbledore fan fiction. I'll post it soon. If that is allright with Clara.

Hi guys,
Dumbledore-ette of the month isn't just for girls hehe.. I know the 'ette' is deceptive.. but its used as a diminutive.. implying that the person in question is alike to Dumbledore.. only.. smaller tongue.gif (and besides.. devotee was already taken by the SOSS..)

nice answers.. I think we should group together and put everything on his tomb.. though that may detract from some of the more subtle ideas.. oh well!! tongue.gif

Ahh... thank you Dan, Question of a christmassy nature! (and yes... I do know your'e a boy!)
If Dumbledore decorated his office all christmassy, what would it look like?
Well.. I think he may enlist Dobby to help him with his decorations. I think he would probably have a traditional christmas tree, traditionally and respectably decorated in on section of his office, then another decorated by dobby in another section. I can't imagine him sticking to strictly traditional.. but i think he'd like that as part of his chrismas.. so he'd have a mixture of both. Hed also have stockings hung up by his constantly lit fire.. and perhaps nicely knitted christmas cushions.. hed also have all manner of christmas decorations dangling from the ceiling.. and bookshelves and every other possible location. Presents.. he'd also have presents in a pile under the tree.. Oh and big glistening snowflakes.. enchanted, of course, bobbing around by the window... and hed have chestnuts roasting, and boxes of chocolates and sweets everywhere, as well as christmassy chamber music seemingly comming from nowhere....
OOoo I want to go there.. hehe.

Out of all the students who have walked through hogwarts, which one do you think Dumbledore considers to be quite similair to himself?
Well.. I can't imagine him branding people as certain types, or assuming he knew the most intimate workings of every persons' mind.. but i can imagine him seeing a lot of himself in other people's charaters. He definately sees his rebbelious nature in Harry, I can imagine him seeing his ambition in him too, along with others- namely riddle. He would also see his pride and need to please those that he held in high esteem, in people such as Malfoy, and his magical ability in Hermione.
Dumbledore would understand that every person was unique, everybody with their good points and bad points. Unlike some.. he would recognise his good, and bad traits in other people, and then help them to overcome and to excel.

The story's coming on great.. can we finish it before christmas.. ?? maybe not.. there's only 4 days to go!!! still.. bit of a challange for you all there!! im looking forward to reading it thorugh in one piece! ...I've managed to restrain myself 'till now biggrin.gif

It would be like with many magical instruments and his phoenix and beautiful ornaments...Dumbledore is man of decoration

i dont think there was a person like him but i think Voldermort and Albus have some relating features like influential...

Hei everyone. I am new here. Anyhow this is really cool. Here is my answers.

Do you think Dumbledore believed in anything after death (e.g. heaven, reincarnation etc)?
Yea i suppose he did believe. He kept saying that there are worse things than death. It does seem wise i guess. Maybe not reincarnation but certainly life after. He also said 'To the well organised mind, death is the next great adventure.' So i assume its his adventure.

What item would you leave at Dumbledore's tomb this Christmas?
I would leave A chocolate frog card and a note.

If Dumbledore decorated his office all christmassy. What would it look like?
It would certainly include something highly eccentric and unique like himself. Fawaks would be there, and music would be too as if it is timeless and loads of sweets i bet.

Out of all the students who have walked through hogwarts. Which one do you think Dumbledore considers to be quite similair, to himself?
Probably Voldemort, (although i dont like it) both are skilled and determined and influential and ofcourse grew to be very powerful. Now we all know Voldemort is powerhungry, but it is worth mentioning that Dumbledore wasnt very sure about having extraordinary power in his hand and being trusted with it.
Gwenog
If Dumbledore decorated his office all christmassy. What would it look like?
maybe a mimbulus mimbeltonia which was given to him by Professor Sprout..decorated with yellow and red stars...

Out of all the students who have walked through hogwarts. Which one do you think Dumbledore considers to be quite similair, to himself?
hmmm...I guess its really hard to say that...I guess LV and him were both very loved by the teachers and very intelligent...but DD was still rather different...I mean he didnt plan to kill people etc...he was more a little "fame-seeking" and trying to cover up his family issues with it just like Snape did in my opinion...and having such a weak back up from his family he went all wrong in his attitude by wanting to become "Master of Death" just like Snape who became a death eater under similar conditions...I guess yes Snape was a tiny bit similar to him maybe.. blink.gif
The Master of Death
Hey isnt there any new questions??? Anyways thought i ll share a news i heard with u guys...Jk has declared that dumbledore character is gay....i don't believe her since it doesn't say so in the book she is just making things up
Mundu
I think he saw a lot of himself in Tom Riddle, which could (understandably) have scared the life out of him. They were both people who were very bright and intelligent, probably popular at school but quite singular people as well. DD also wanted power as a young man. They both had quite sad childhoods/early-adulthoods as well... Only DD was wise enough to realise the differences between the two of them, and to choose the right path. Holding up his philosophy of 'choices maketh the man' in the process.

And there are a lot of similarities between him and Snape as well. They both loved and lost, and were totally dedicated to their causes. And both very nice men of course wink.gif

As for the Christmas decorations, I get the feeling that he would have had a lot of fun with them! Something traditional but totally wacky at the same time maybe?

Sorry I don't have any new questions at the moment. Or an addition to the story *eek*. ermm.gif

Welcome, The Master of Death. We appreciate you trying to share this info with us, but we have already been informed. For past discussions, you can find the "Dumbledore is Gay" thread here.. Unfortunately, it was been closed for reasons mentioned at the end of the thread. You can also find more discussions about this news here. Just thought I'd point this out to you in case you are interested. smile.gif

If Dumbledore decorated his office all christmassy. What would it look like?

I think DD would stick to mostly traditional decorations with touches of magic. Since electrical devices aren't supposed to work at Hogwarts, the Christmas lights would have to be the magical touches. Maybe fairies or ever-burning candles that won't burn down the tree. I could see tinsel everywhere; stockings hanging from the fire place; and candy canes sticking out of every pot-like object and hanging from the Christmas tree.
annesches
If Dumbledore decorated his office all christmassy. What would it look like?

It would be crossed between traditional and wizarding way. He would have a Christmas tree and enchant it and make it eccentric. Christmas songs would be playing in the background while the fire cracking merrily. Sweets would be abundant and other sorts of Christmas decorations spread all over in his office.

Out of all the students who have walked through hogwarts. Which one do you think Dumbledore considers to be quite similair, to himself?

Dumbledore would see his dark side in Voldemort, they were both ambitious and power hungry, and both were intelligent were the most brilliant student of their time at Hogwarts. He would also felt the pain and lost of Snape with regards to their true love. He would see his love of muggle and the protectiveness of Harry in his loved ones.

A warm welcome to the new members!!!

Well I've been neglecting this thread, very sad seeing as there is so much activity going on. smile.gif

If Dumbledore decorated his office all christmassy. What would it look like?

I've always thought of Dumbledore as eccentric and really quite unique. There would probably be things that would surprise you, but once you think about it it actually makes a lot of sense. Like perhaps there is carrots all over the place, signifying something with snowmen. And then he would probably have the usual decorations too, like Christmas trees and garland on the Sorting Hat. biggrin.gif

Out of all the students who have walked through Hogwarts. Which one do you think Dumbledore considers to be quite similair, to himself?

I'm not sure really about this because there have been so many students to walk through Hogwarts, but there always seemed to be something with Harry and Tom Riddle. We have been shown that Dumbledore did care in some way for both of them. But as I said before I'm not exactly sure.

That's all for now. Merry (late) Christmas and a Happy New Year! happy.gif

If Dumbledore decorated his office all christmassy. What would it look like?

Well there has to be a stocking of course! biggrin.gif Other than that, I agree that he would have a lot of cliche holiday decorations. Maybe Christmas lights that are enchanted to float around his office near the ceiling. That sounds very Dumbledore-like to me.

Unfortunately this is all that time will allow me tonight, but I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hi guys,

I hope everybody has had a great christmas and new year, as annesches said, Hopefully 08 will as good as 07, and better!!

Before I forget, I would like to announce that the Dumbledore-ette of December, the very last dumbledore-ette of 2007 is...

Seriouslysirius!!!
Congratulations!! This was for his posts, as well as posting the 1000th post on this thread!!

I have some questions for you all, and if anybody else can think of some good ones.. Feel free to ask away!!

-Imagine we are entering the year after the downfall of Voldemort. What would Dumbledore wish for in the coming year? not just for Harry and the other surviving members of the order, but for the entire wizarding and muggle populations. Would he have any particularly special wishes??

-Some empathy required here- What do you think Dumbledore saw as his best and worst traits? He often saw other people for what they were, but he had some trouble when it came to himself, his vision was clouded with self doubt. (remember what did HE see as his best and worst traits)

-Lastly, What do you think Dumbledore believed his worst mistake/discision and best action/descision was? Try and think about it a bit, dont just say the death of his sister.. Think, was it before then, or in the many, many years afterwards? (once again, remember, what did HEthink)

Im looking forward to some really good posts here!!

Clara}~

EDIT: I would just like to announce our new affiliation with the SOSS- Severely Obsessed Snape Society!! They are currently having a Snapeweek, which I can assure is well worth a look!! The thread can be found here

Considering how close Dumbledore and Severus were, and how much trust they placed in eachother, it seems most fitting that we, as their *greatest* fans, should also be affiliated!!

Wow thank you Clara!!! biggrin.gif

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday and Happy New year.

Now I'll crack on with the questions.

What would Dumbledore wish for in the coming year?

Now you say the whole Wizarding community Clara. Then i think he would want the community who had picked sides or sought fights and arguments with their loved ones, during those dark times. To realise how they had behaved, or just to appreciate life. I think his dearest wish would be for everyone to get along. And learn that love conquers, after all Dumbledore believe very strongly in love. I think perhaps, if he knew that everyone could learn to get along. Then he would be able to rest in peace.

What do you think Dumbledore saw as his best and worst traits?

I think he would rather not pick out his best traits only his worst traits. Dumbledore liked to strive at doing good, so I think he would only pick on himself when it came to his worst traits, to improve on them.
I think he saw that his frustrating ability to seemingly trust those who had no right to be trusted came through. I think even though he knew what he was doing. He could see that it upset and frustrated people.
And to his good traits I see him asking perhaps Snape to help him on them. Rather than to appear vain himself.

What do you think Dumbledore believed his worst mistake/discision and best action/descision was?

I think that he felt his worst mistake. Was to ever let his.... dare I say it. Love for Grindewald blind him from his family. Therefore allowing a rift between his brother and poor little sister with him to be created. I think he will always regret the fact that he let a duel take place to end in the death of his sister. He knew that he shouldn’t ever have happened. But that's what makes Dumbledore the good person he is. The ability to realise his mistake and own up to it, no matter how hard the consequences are.
Phew that was fun. laugh.gif

Just quickly.. I wanted to add something to one of Dan's answers..
QUOTE
I think he saw that his frustrating ability to seemingly trust those who had no right to be trusted came through. I think even though he knew what he was doing. He could see that it upset and frustrated people.

You see.. I don't think he ever saw his ability to trust as a bad thing. I don't think that, since Grindlewald, he ever placed his trust in the wrong people. Although he gave the benefit of the doubt, he knew what and what not to tell people, and who to keep an eye on. He did however, trust very much in the positive side of human nature, the kindness and compassion that makes us human. He knew that there were huge bad sides to people, but he also understood the importance of trusting in humanity. He knew that if you live a suspicious and paranoid life, you tend to be rather unhappy.
Maybe his tendancy to overestimate people was a flaw.. but again, he understood the importance of giving people a chance... I'll have to think on it some more...

I also quickly wanted to say that this month's dumbledore-ette will be decided in a completely different way. Instead of sherbet lemons, The award is going to be based soley on the things that you say. If you say something brilliant about Dumbledore, something very acurate and insightfull.. you could be named Dumbledore-ette of the month. Because we're all a bit busy.. (including me!) If you read something by another member that you think is worthy, please pm it to me. That way, I can see a wider range of things!!

Clara}~

Ohh.. I almost forgot.. any additions to the story?? I've forgotton where we were, but I would very much like to get it onto the WAW site soon!

EDIT: Id like to announce another Affiliation with the SPELL thread [Society for the Prevention of [JKR] Ending Lupin's Life] Take a look, Lupin and Dumbledore worked alongside eachother for a very long time.. maybe we can add some interesting things to the SPELL thread.. which can be found here

wow.. two affiliations in one night.. we are good!!

Congratulations to Seriouslysirius for being made the Dumbledorette for the month of December, well done.

Wow Clara, we finally had affiliations with other threads in a day and glad that it included SOSS, I’m a fan of both men, maybe you’ve noticed already.

I’ll comeback to answer the new questions, their really interesting but I have to go and I like give some more thoughts before I post.

Happy posting guys.

What would Dumbledore wish for in the coming year?
I think Albus Would have wished a calm peaceful wizarding community and a Hogwarts which is united and Happy together without differences and he sure would have wished for a better and a greater Minister for Magic...His happiness lies with the happiness of Hogwarts students...Long Live Albus Dumbledore

What do you think Dumbledore saw as his best and worst traits?
If i know Albus and i do know him Albus wouldn't have really even thought about his good traits he was always thinking about his bad ones.. Albus would have thought his worst trait that he cant be trusted by power and as Albus said he would have beleived his best trait is that he was a good teacher

What do you think Dumbledore believed his worst mistake/discision and best action/descision was?

Albus would have beleived his best action ever was to decline the post of Minister and always and always help others....and all i dont think Dumbledore really thinks about his good actions he would have always thought about his worst ones and that is to be power hungry and working with Grindelwauld and abandoning his family

What would Dumbledore wish for in the coming year?
I think Dumbledore would have wanted to the wizarding community to move on; to pick up pieces of their life where they have left behind and help themselves to start over again. He would have wanted everyone to learn a vital lessons from the mistakes of the past, (Ministry of Magic mostly) and to realize if that perhaps if we had enough love in the society, the chances of people like Voldemort emerging would be lessened. I am not sure, but he certainly believed in love, and second chances and I suppose thats what he would have wished for most. Everyone to learn to forgive more.

What do you think Dumbledore saw as his best and worst traits?
His best trait probably was his intellect and his wisdom, which I am sure he, himself admired, and there is nothing wrong about that anyway. He knew he understood situation, things and people better than others and it was a significant thing for him. And also his paitence inface of opposition and criticism. His worst trait was, i suppose to be trusted with power which he was unsure of, assuming he might make wrong or even selfish decisions by being incharge.

What do you think Dumbledore believed his worst mistake/discision and best action/descision was?
I think his best decision was to believe in people. Despite what happened in his life, and others as well, he never gave up hope in love or stopped believing that good exists and people will see it one way or the another. By doing so he relates to how people's mind function and is very understandable about the their actions. I think his worst decision was even erupted from his good, his desire and wish to see good in Grindelwald and his plans and this made him turn a blind eye to the cruelty and evi apparant in Grindelwald. It also made him abondon his family, which was something that haunted him for the rest of his life.

WAW has reached over the 1000 post mark and to celebrate I am going to open up a new thread.

Clara_Morgue has been kind enough to summarise the recent goings on in the thread and I will include this in the opening post.
