Okay anyway... I was just wondering, where do you guys like to read?

I like to read at school where there is a little noise but not a ton... If I read at home I get to hooked to the book and you literally have to shake me to wake me up...
Also I had a teacher last year that always turned the lights off when we would read and said it would help us concentrate but I have to read with a ton of light... How about you??

I prefer to read at home, because there is a lot less noise that I have to deal with. When I am reading a book that I'm really into I also tend to get catatonic.

hahaha i read anywhere,now days i read alot more at school because there's not much to do but i always carry a book every where i go
and i can read under ay conditions but i love to read with music

I read EVERYWHERE, in my bed, at my school (when i was at school), at my university classes (only the ones that bore me though), at the bus, at the bus station... I don't care if it is noisy, if there are many people. If i like what i read, i will read it at any kind of place...

I love reading my my living room because it's bright there with lots of green colours. Green is good for your eyes because of the wavelengths it emits. soo after reading for a while, I like to look up and relax my eyes a bit because I don't want to get glasses. I can't read when it's really noisy because I have to read the same line over and over again sometimes to continue reading. I'm a slow reader because I picture sort of a movie happening in my head as I read.

When I read I like to read on a comfortable chair or sofa or bed, in a very very very very very VERY quite room. For me it's impossiable to read with nosie. . .well I can but nothing stays up in my head, nothing gets though so there is no point in me reading unless it is quite because I will not remeber ANYTHING!!

i love to read and when i do i prefer to be in a quiet space. just like my twin a post above me, nothing will go into my mind unless it's quiet.
i will read anywhere really, as long as it is not too loud. erm i guess i really like to read with a hot drink in hand! i just do!


hgsupporter i am not excataly the same... i do imagine it as a sort of movie but i am not slow noramally. i find myself reading a bit and then sort-of stopping and then creating it in my head.

i mean some characters i imagine them hmmmm not like the movie haha i mean sirius should be handsome and trust me he's not well at least that's what my sis says hahaha

I enjoy reading anyplace quiet where I can really get into the book. I also havelike go out and sat on a tree and read and that was cool. I need to be comfortable and in peace and quiet. I mostly read on my bed all snuggled up and comfortable Then I simply drown myself in the book

well, i h8 reading at school, cause the atmosphere is always.....urgh! I prefer reading at home, cause i can concentrate & really absorb the story. i hate reading outside, cause the scenary around me, always distracts me from my book (i'm an outdoor person, so my surroundings always tend to distract me). I prefer sitting in a comfy chair or on my bed, by a small lamp, when i read. other than that, I luv reading!!!

I read everywhere!! It really doesn't matter where. Usually it's in my room, or at school during studyhall, or in the car on a long trip, in waiting rooms for an appointment, or english class where we have no choice but to. I'm not complaining though. Noise never really bothers me because I read so often that I'm able to block it out and just read without disruption. The better the book, the easier it is to block things out because you get so into it, imagining the charcters and becoming them. I go nowhere without a book because then things would just be so boring.

I completely agree with you ChOco... even though I do most of my reading at school any ways... But it is way to loud and then when it is quiet I get so into that I don't pay any attention to anything around me and the guy I sit next to in one of my classes realized this so he pokes me when I am reading because I jump a foot when he does it... he is so immature ...

But when I am at home and I am reading Harry Potter a lot of the time I play the soundtrack very quietly in the back ground... its really fun it helps me see the little movie in my mind...

I can't read just anywhere. I love reading though. I like to sit at my desk and read excerpts from books. I like reading when I'm alone, in my room, because it's quiet. That way I can seriously concentrate on the book. I'm not one for being in the loudest room in the house and try and know what the heck is going on in the story. I can read in the car, though with the radio on. I don't really know how that works or why I can, but it's really relaxing.

I like to read on my unmade bed. When i read, i almost always lie down even though it's bad for your eyes. Oh, and i sometimes listen to rock or pop music while i read. I know it's weird but it's fun!

I always read on my bed, just before i go to sleep, with as little light as possible... it usually ends up with me falling asleep with the lamp on though!

I'll read lying in bed just before I sleep. I'll take a book to Uni or work and read in the time I have before I start. I'll have a 10 minute break and I'll pick up a book.

Noise doesn't bother me. I could have a cyclone in the background I reckon and still be lost in a good book.

Me to Pixymajik, normally. Sometimes at school when I read when people are talking I get a little caught up with all the gossip, but normally I can just get hooked, instantly. Unless of course its a horrible book than it takes a little more effort.

Hmmm... I can basically read anywhere, regardless of the conditions. My step-sister can't read in a car and she complains about it way too much! As long as I don't have a headache or [worse] a migraine, background noise is fine, if it's not to close to my ears.

I love to read in my bed, that, and the floor of my living room (unsure why) are the only places i can read. I try at school but everyone is so loud and everyone is horrid and calls you a boffin (which i am, but not the point). So i can't read much at school except in out english lessons once a week, when we are forced to - but i hate that environment because my friends hate reading and always complain. I really can't see how some people just don't read - at all. It's insane, well im i suppose it's thier problem not mine

I like reading without any distractions. So, by myself, preferably on the hill or by this creek. Other than that, in my room in my bed.

I have to have absolute silence when I read, otherwise I can't concentrate or get distracted. When I do read I get lost in it, if someone interrupts I'm pretty annoyed.
So I usually only read in my room, don't usually get bothered there! Although a certain person in my house has a really loud voice and never shuts up, it makes me want to strangle them

i dont care where i read. as long as its a good book full of action, suspense, and character conflicts i like it when the characters fight.
i like reading while listing to my ipod too. i cant read if it is too quiet. or if the t.v. is on.

I always read at home...

In summer,I read in my garden sat in the lawn below a big tree or at the swimming pool.

In the other seasons,I read at home,specially in my bedroom,because there aren't anybody annoying me or there isn't any noise and I can read calmed in my bed lots of hours.

I love reading in the summer It's always so...sunny ! Thanks Goodness Harry Potter comes out in the summer- i can sit on my veranda and read all day

Honestly I could read anywhere if I really wanted to but I prefer if I could read in my room. It's easier to get really into a book if i'm in my room. The only problem is when my little sister barges in and trys to bug me and when my parents come in when i'm really starting to enjoy the book.

Yep, I know the feeling, I normally jump a mile though if someone pokes me, then they get hit, unless I'm in school, then I give them the death glare...

During the school year I pretty much only read Harry Potter. On school days, I bring my book to class and when we have like 1.5 hours of presentations, I just read and it's great! (I did that today ) During the weekend I will go up to my room and read for like 2 hours but after about 1.5 hours I will fall asleep and wake up a while later. And during the summer time, I will read on the couch for a lot of the time, again, Harry potter only!

I love to make a small cave from all my blankets and cushions and just curl up and read! So cosy! It's weird cause in winter it's all warm in my 'cave' but in summer, it's nice and cool. strange...

I read just about where evry. When I read I like when it's noisey. If I'm at home and its quite, I listen to my iPod. During the summer I read outdoors in the sun, so nice.

Yeah me to normally... If you want something else to read there is a really great series... theres one for guys and one for girls... Daughters of the Moon for girls and Sons of the Dark for guys... I'm a girl and I've read both series though... They are by Lynne Ewing, they are really interesting...

I have to have my noise, I hate reading in the quiet, it freaks me out.

Those Daughter of the Moon books are really good, I've read them before and they were sweet.

I read at home, on my bed, and I like the quiet but if it is too quiet (can't even hear a cow mooing in the distance, I say cow because I live in the countryside now), like the room has been soundproofed or something then i won't be able to concentrate

I can pretty much read anywhere now, it used to be that i would have to be in a quiet place, but now i pretty much need the noise i guess i got used to having to block out people and noises when i read, so i usually read outside under this huge tree outside my dorm building, its my favorite reading spot, i take my ipod and sit quietness freaks me out as well.

I generally, prefer reading at home...during "school" year, I read on the way to college or the way home, and at home of course...I got used to reading in almost every condition (quiet or noisy)
Well, I usually buy text books in english as a way to not "lose" the language, because my mother tongue is spanish, and I've been learning english for more than a decade , so it just wouldn't be nice...not to keep it up...

I read anywhere I can so long as it is quiet. I have ADHD, so it takes all of my self-control to make shure that I stay focused on the book and noise is just another distraction, Also, I hate to read where there are alot of poeple, because I don't like to read when I can talk with others.

I am a bit of a dork.

Really the only place I can't read is in the car. I get headaches if I do! But I'll read during class if I'm really bored. Yesterday we were supposedly watching the 'most exciting' episode of Monkey King in Chinese. It lost my attention after 2 minutes! So I read which made my teacher mad but I don't care as soon as he goes back to China I'll never have to see him again... I hope!

I like reading at home on my bed with my door shut the best, then I can avoid distractions.
I also read in other places like the lounge room, in the car on long trips and sitting in my favorite recliner sitting back and reading Harry Potter most likely!

i don't really care where i read, as log as i get to read. i really like to read in a bus or car because the motion seems to soothe me. but i also like to read at home. especially when there's a thunderstorm outside, i sit right under the window in my room with the light on and i can hear the rain. i love water. but then i like to lay down to.

During a Thunderstorm? I wanna try that, it's getting really hot in England now so I reckon us English folk will be having a few soon

I do like to read in a bus or a moving vehicle like JSB 073 said,it really soothes me while in thunderstorms..the sound disturbes me.The best place to read is my terrace.A nice chair,light breeze,soft drinks..These make up my place to read.If I sit on terrace,my mother won't bother me to do household works!!.

Really? I hate reading in cars, i'll read there if neccesary ( ie. MUST FINISH BOOK! ) but i prefer to be on stable ground whilst reading!

I seriously think that reading in a thunderstorm must be great, I mean, think about it, you get to a really tense part of the book and then all of a sudden....FLASH.......BOOM. A perfect scenario, I really want to try it

Thunderstorms would be...interesting, but in all honesty, it doesn't really matter to me where I'm reading. I suppose my favorite place to read is outside under some trees w/ a bit of sunshine and a cool breeze, but I pretty much tune everything out when I'm reading. My bf says it's as though I'm comatose. I've read through thunderstorms w/out even realizing one was going on

I read anywhere any time no matter how loud or how quiet it is i just read this may sound odd butwe went to an amusment park and i brought a book to read while waiting in line and if im in the middle of a good book lets just say you might be tramuatized or think im insane i love reading anything espally HP its my favorite but the book eragon id to now im rambling

At my school, the entire second story of the library is completely quiet- you could hear a pin drop, anmd there is a huge window about 40 feet by 20 feet and there is a couch right under it where the sun reaches from the times 12- 6pm. and sitting there with abag of chips reading is about the most peaceful it could get.

But at home, in my bed with the sunlight on my book from my window.

i read anywhere as long as its quiet,comfy and my sister can't desterb me....

I can read anywhere really. Quiet or loud. I think most people prefer quiet. If you have a book that is hard to understand you really have to give it some thought.

I have a paticular favourite place to read. Anywhere where it is quite sunny. I have the sun down on me. Like sitting on top of a car or somewhere warm.
