Hm....I guess my perfect dress for the Yule Ball would be a sea green long dress. It would be strapless with a low back and floaty material..... I would have strappy silver heels and some bangles.

Perhaps some pretty pearl earrings as well.

Red velvet (sort of a cranberry maroon with a hint of gold), drapey off the shoulder number with a tight bodice, and full skirt with a bit of a train. My dark waves will be up in a gold clasp of some sort, and I will have dark red satin gloves.

OR I could go with my Ravenclaw colors and have a deep midnight blue satin strapless number again full skirt with silver gloves and a silver clasp in my hair. I love dresses! Life is better in a fancy dress!

My perfect dress robes would be, of course, pink and black!

erm well i have a lot of ideas.. i'll put one for now.

a floor lenght, flowing black dress with gold patterning on the hem, neckline and the edge of the sleeves. the sleeves would be long (bell sleeves) and the enckline would low... not too low. the top of the dress would have a sort-of corset design and the dress would have a low back with a pendant hanging from it... that bit was hard to describe lol oh well! gold jewelery and either a pair of long black boots or gold strapped shoes...

a long brown dress in crimpy material - like fleurs in the movie
or a long satin blue/turquoise one
both strapless and both floor length - i would wear them anyway if i saw them in a shop - wouldn't wait to go to a ball!

Oooh I love this thread. Well, recently I baught a dress for semi-formal and I am completely in love with it so I'll describe that as my ideal dress robes allthough I'm sure if I was out dress shopping I'd find something else! Here it goes:

It is black and has somewhat sparkly designs on it. The straps are about one inch. It dips low in the front and in the back. It gathers around my stomach and it goes just below my knees.

Oooh, just talking about it gets me all giddy about semi-formal! Teehee!

Mine would be, blue jeans, a t-shirt, tennis shoes, and last but not least an optional baseball hat. haha As you can probably tell I'm not too fond of that kind of stuff!

long and flowing... colour = purple. low cut back, strapless and has a dimond pattern around the hem and neckline. silver jewelery and simple sparkly shoes. a sort-of velety, satin shine.. so that sort-of material.

Ermmm. well I'm actually not much of a dress person I would rather act like a boy !! But if I had to wear one I guess it would be a bluey purple colour(since they are my favourite colours), it would be long and trailing at the back and straps over the shoulders instead of sleeves!! Wow I did pretty good for not liking dresses !!

I just bought this dress for this prom I'm going to and its lush. Its like a wine red but reflects the light really well. It kind of folds over at the top and then flows down to the floor. Its got invisible straps. ITS LUSH!

Well, as far as color goes, I'd either want black, dark blue, or silver/ grey. It'd have to be the traditional floor length. Straps, not too thin or too thick, maybe some fancy sort of beaded straps, but I dunno. My shoes would probably match my dress color. Cool thread who ever opened it.

Oh my god! today i had to look for bridesmaid dresses with my sister's...

we all chose dresses and the one that i chose... well we all fell in love with it!! it was gorgeous (can't spell!) and i can't believe i chose it! my older sister said she was jealous and so she tried it on. like i said we all fell in it love with it. my step-mom tought it was amazing to and my little sister (who had a different dress as she is only 8) liked it too, i think...

the dress...
it was long and floaty at the bottom. thin straps and it had a lace type patteren down the side that tied up. the one we all tried on was pink but we are going to have it in a light lilac. oh my god it looked.. freaky on me... lol but i felt... i don't know ... special! so we all had the same dress!!

i think it's a bit ... random ... as i love the medieval/gothic dresses that are like corsets and black, red and gold coloured but i am also in love with the floaty prom/bridesmaid style dresses that make you feel like a ... i don't ... beautiful! oh well there is nothing wrong with a bit variety!!

I'm kind of going with HPfan#1, I don't wer many dresses, but I suppose if I did it would be a lighter than sea green color like this kind of, I have honey blonde hair, so it would mach really well. It would be strapless, and have clear silk of different colors of blue to green material over a white dress.

Yeah, i live and die in my jeans, so i wouldn't be caught in a dress, even if you paid me! I'd rather go in a tux actualy.

But if i had to wear one, i'd say a nice blue, dark at the bottom, lighter as it get's nearer to the top, with bits of silver in it and spageti straps.

Oooo... Black floor length full skirt, with slashes showing the lower layers of black tuffeta. Slightly longer at the back, with layers that trail slightly, all different materials - all black - velevt, silk, and a magical material that occasionally becomes slightly metallic/shiny. Over the skirt a delicate black lace covering subtle exotic flower patterns with snakes coiled around them. all in black. A black full boned bodice, also with lace covering, tiny emeralds and diamonds attatched to the lace. Black silk elbow length gloves, a huge emerald ring and platinum ring ovr my left hand glove, emerald and diamond bracelet over the right glove. My black hair in ringlets, with half coiled on top of my head. Large droplet emerald earings, and an emerald and hair clip. and last but most certainly not least... an Emerald necklace. tierd down with the emeralds becoming bigger. The last lowest one gets deeper green in the centre, to almost black, with a delicate carved snake, amost invisible, around the outside biting its own tail, a tiny perfect emerald as its eye.

Phew. that was my slytherin dress i could go on for hours...

Normally I'd want something knee length, but the Yule Ball is so fancy I just love it. I'd probably wear a long emerald green dress with black lace at the top and a black ribbon around the middle. No straps. It'd kind of spew out a little at the sides and fall down tot he ground. It'd be kind of shiny too I don't know what the material is called though. With black strappy low heeled shoes and my ahir would be ahlf up hallf down. That was fun, I think alot of girls liek this topic

My perfect dress fobes would be strapless floor length and in a light shade of yellow not bright neon yellow not golden yellow but like a baby yellow that light pastel shade of yellow that is almost not regognized as yellow it would have silver accents on it the top would be form fitting while the skirt flowed out not quite a princess skirt but a gentle flowing to hide the size of hips and bottom. i would want to wear a pair of yellow or silver cowboy boots and my hair would be twisted up with light curls in it not tight but with a flowing look to them.

My ideal dress would be a long green-blue dress with a ruffled body. It would probably be long on one side and gets shorter up to about my knee on the other side. And it would have light colored beads embeded into the skirt.

blood red coloured long dress whicj is shorter at the front and trails a little at the back. no straps, a low cut back and v-neck front. the hem of the dress and the neckline are studded with crystals. comes with strappy red heels and a silver necklace with rubies that are in a drop shape... each drop gets smaller.

mine would be tourquoise silk, strapless, and long so it dusted the floor. plus a strand of pearls and diamond earings, and [[the perfect ascessorie]] draco malfoy on my arm. LOL!

umm...ok...mine would be in pink and white or pink and black,floor length full skirt and a top with thin starps bearing little pink diamond shaped beads.The skirt will have pink flowers going diagonally from one end to the other side getiing smaller at the end.Umm...the top will have pink flowers and small green petal-like thingies near the end.My hair would be in little ringlets only near the ends and some matching jewelry and shoes would be perfect!

Ok for my Yule Ball dress...
It would be floor length... it would be bubblegum pink, strapless. It would have a white ribbon around the waist with a big bow it the back. And would be one of those hoop skirts, only without the hoop, and it wouldn't be like a huge hoop shape just a mediumish small shape thing. Oh and I would have white gloves that went up to my elbows. And I would have my hair like Hermiones when she went to the Ball with that "eleagant knot in the back of her head".
That was probably really confusing. I am going to have great time looking for a prom dress. Lol...

My ideal Yule Ball dress would be...

A strapless, floaty floor length dress. It would have two layers - the base one being pale silver/white. The top layer would be a very pale baby pink lace.

The top of the dress would be beaded with pale pink and silver beads to connect the top layer to the base. The beads would make a pretty pattern.

My hair would be like Hermiones; twisted into a loose knot at the top of my head and my curls would spill down over my shoulders. My earrings would just be white pearls. My shoes wouldn't be able to be seeen, so they'd just be white kitten heels.

You probably didn't understand any of that - but it's looks pretty in my head!

Mine would be floor length, some trailing behind me, and it would of course be the same shade of green as the slytherin snake, strapless, low cut in the back(really low), Silver strapy stilletos(sp?)that are toeless with emeralds, a shawl thats made of real silver string, and silver ring w/emeralds,same for earings and necklace, my long blond hair in a bun with a silver and emerald clasp with sparkles in my hair, deep red lipstick. And it would be tight up against my body, not loose like a weading dress.

My dress would be hot pink and lime green colored. strapless with a thight fitting pink corset bodice, with boning and covered in green beads and silk green lacing on the back. the skirt would be huge and poofy layers of taffeta in alternating pink and green the top most layer glittered with pink and green beading, the front of the skirt would cut off at the knee, but it would flow down in the back to the floor. Shoes would have 6 inch clear platform heels that had blinking lights in them that flashed pink and green. the shoes would be strappy on top, with pink straps covered in green beads, but they'd have the same green silk ties, that tie all the way up to my thighs.

my hair would be half up with a couple curled ringlets and beaded clasps that match my dress. I would be wearing Lime green over the elbow length gloves that have pink beaded trim. my necklace would be a thin string of green and pink alternating diamonds set in platinum, I'd also have a matching braclet on my left wrist. on my right hand I'd be wearing a large pink diamond ring also set in platinum.

my makeup would be a pale pink lip, lightly blushed cheeks, and just the faintest hint of pink and green glitter on my eyelids, with my usual lined eyes and mascaraed lashes.

Black corset bodice with gold lace and a black skirt of velvet (or whatever shiny material i am thinking of) with a slit on one side. black long sleeves with a slit through each.

red corset. black lace. black laced boots. strapless. bottom skirt is slightly flowy and trails slightly at the back.

thin straps. green colour. silk shine. trails a little at back. darker green silk sash around the middle. low-osh cut back. floor length.

OK, I have another one, I was at the mall today looking for my turnabout dress and I found this one and I'm like completely in love with it so yea. I'ts a strapeless white dress, knee length, with gold sliver and pink beads embroydered [sp?] into the body.

I totally pictured this in my head ages ago....

My dress would be dark navy blue with spagetti straps. Then it would have tiny twinkling stars throughout the whole dress. But not too many. I would wear sliver strappy shoes and all of my jewlry would be shaped like stars. From my earrings, necklace, and even my rings. And they would even shine.

strapless white dress. silky ivory coloured under layer with a erm god i don't know what it is called! erm top layer of peticoat material (don't know if that is what i mean). crystals enbedded at the hem and neckline. the dress is floaty at the bottom and trails a little at the back.

Since my fave color is black then my dress would be all black velvet, strapless, with a tear all the way up to mid thigh.. I would wear clear black shoes with lights in th heels so that everytime I walk my shoes light up ( I actually have a pair of those but they are just clear, blows peoples minds lol)

black knee length dress of a veil-y material. the black has a silver glitter over it. no straps. and its all flowy again! erm strappy high heels. erm i wouldn't wear this. i just have image in my head and i like it. too bad i can't actually describe it.

If I was going by robes, like in the book, then I would go with a satin purple robe.

If I was going by a dress...

Probably something purple, or snow white, or maybe both, a purple gown with a white sheer overlay on it. And an over-the-shoulder gown would be pretty. And maybe some amthyst earrings.

Well i'm not a girl...but guys got dress robes too for the ball...so I'd like to chip in I'd like one of the Durmstrang robes, those looked so tough and strong with the fur on one side and the style, which seemed like some sort of army like. AND a cape I do fancy a cape. To twirl around and have it flying behind me...wonderful

Emerald green dress which is down to the floor and trails out behind me. Strapless with a sash tied around my waist. Slits across the chest with black material puffing out. A little serpant necklace and green emerald rings, studded with snakes. Silver strappy heels with a little crystal serpant around the top.

Green glitter eyeshadow and dark eyeliner, giving my eyes a colourful but mysterious look. My cheeks slightly pink and a creamy coloured foundation. Pale pink lipgloss and dark mascara.

Here is my ultimate girly dress:

Dress: Pale pink around the chest, getting deeper pink until the bottom of the dress which has little sliver sparkles studded around here and there. Where the dress is pale around the chest, there are these bright pink starry sparkly things.

Shoes: Dainty, pink heels. About two inches high. The strap which goes across the middle of the foot is studded with pink diamonds.

Jewellry: Pink diamond necklace, with diamonte earrings to match. Huge, bright pink ring and spangly, silver bangles.

Make-up: Smooth, creamy foundation and pink lips. Pale pink powder on the cheeks and glittery, sparkling eye shadow. Soft eyeliner and a pretty mascara.

Perfume: I have some YUMMY perfume called: "So...Desirable." So I would have a little of that on my neck and on my wrists.

mine would be a bright red long, flowy, silky dress with an embroidered corset top. i'd have red dimond studded strapy heels. i'd have dangley red dimond earings and a red diamond necklace.

My dress would be long and red with a cut on the side. The straps would be like on a halter top, only criss-crossing in front first. I'd have silvery, strappy high heels. I also have these delicate silver chandelier earrings that I'd wear.

Okay, I try this know with my english that is not that good if it comes to cloth........so, sorry for that and I hope you all understand what I mean.

My dress would be like a medieval one: floor long, dark green with (what would look like an underdress) cream colored applications on the sides in the skirt part of it and like a corset tied in the top part of it where you could see a cream applicaiton Which would run from the top of it to the bottom in the middle. It would have dark green sleeves - like we call them here bat wing sleeves - so long nearly knee-long on the underarm and ending by the hands on the top. I would wear light green colored shoes with a realy small heel (I don't like heels that much)

If it would be a more goth like style it would be a black corsete top with wine red applications and the skirt would be - again - floor long and wine red with black applications form the hips to the bottom. I would wear black boots to this one and black and wine-red colored gauntlets (I don't know it this is the right word but that was the only what I could found so I mean the fingerless gloves - like you see them a lot for whedding dresses that are bounded to the middle finger like a ring) up to the elbow.

The jewels to both would be silver - a silver pendant with green stones to the first one and earings. To the second one a silver pendant with red or lilac stones and earings.

So I hope now that you know what I mean

Mine would be a blood-red, floor cut dress that has a little bit of a train behind it. There would be a light see-through layer on the top that is purely just sparkles, so that when you walk, you shimmer. The back of the dress would be cut so that the opening falls to the middle of your back and it is cross-threaded all the way up to the bottom of your neck. Then I'd make some jewelry to match with red rubies. And I'd make open-toed, high heeled shoes that have ballerina laces going up to mid-calf. That would be pretty! It would be gorgeous in emerald also! I'll come back if I think of more.

Hmm:

Dress: Deep cherry red. Strapless and flowing. Where your belly button is, there is a see through bit which is covered in sparkles (lol I stole Hilly's idea!!) It goes tighter around the hips but flares out at the bottom and slightly trails behind.

Shoes: Silver shoes, with kitten heels and a silver strap which fastens with a clasp which is encrusted with rubies.

Jewellry: Ruby red choker and red droplet earrings. Silver bangles and silver rings.

Make-up: Red lipstick witha a layer of shimmery lipgloss over the top. Natural foundation, silver eyeshadow glitter, mascara, smokey eye liner and a cherry coloured blusher.

Perfume: "Envy Me" by Gucci. It's so yummy. But not too much as it is quite strong!

Hair: Pulled back into a bun, with a red clasp holding it up, studded with diamonds and rubies. Two strands at the front, hanging down and curled.

deep deep red, so dark that you can barely see the red, slim cut, skirting over curves, with a magical slightly swirling surface. the top has a corset beneeth and the cloth hugs around the waist with a straight cut strapless top. over the while thing is a black lace covering, cut exactly to the shape of the dress, very thin and delicate, with spun silver sewn into it extending over the flat cut of the top of the top to give half sleeves... black choker with a dark read ruby, and matching braclet and ring. Subtle make up with blood red lips. black hair curled on top of my head, leaving a bare neck...
and small read slip on shoes.
