Hey there. I tried searching for a topic here relating to cars but I couldn't find a thing! So I'm really sorry if I missed something and I'm starting a topic here that's already been started. If so, mods please delete this right away. Being new here I thought I'd try starting a topic of my own, that's all.
But in case I was right and there isn't already a topic about cars, I thought it'd be cool to have one. I love cars and if I was a billionare that's probably what all my money would go to haha. Right now I drive a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant in pearl white. Although it's not a Ferrari or BMW or anything fancy, it's mine and I love her

Haha.
I'd have to say my favorite cars are an Acura RSX Type S, Aston Martins, Mercedes Mclaren, and for some reason I love Jeeps!
So how about everybody else? What do you drive? Or if you don't drive yet, what's your dream car? Or even if you do drive, I'm sure you still have a dream car! Haha. Let's hear about 'em!

I'll be honest, I'm not quite sure what that kind of car looks like! Haha. Is it the same as a Nissan 350z? I know what that one is, and I think that's a great car. I figured since they both have z in the model maybe it's similiar or the same? Not quite sure! Hehe.

Love the thread! I drive a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherrokee Laredo, it's not too bad for a 17 year old. Except for all the frickin' gas the dang thing takes!! Err...
My dream car would have to be...a 1968 red Ford Mustang convertible with a pair of black racing stripes going down the middle. OH MAN, what a car!!! whew...ok I'm good. A guy in my town used to have one, I just about got in a wreck one day for staring at it...oh well.

Silence Dogood I love old Mustangs! You have good taste haha. Red's definately a good color for it. I also like them in powder blue. I remember when I first was going to start driving and I brought up to my dad about getting me an old mustang he was all excited since I'm a girl and his only child haha.
Fany_monkey, Jettas are pretty nice! They are really safe too apparently haha. I always see those commercials where they are just casually talking and somebody plows into them and they get out of the car and are like "Oh my God..". Those commercials freak me out haha. But I liek jettas as well.

Ooh, one of my favourite subjects!

You know, I bore everyone in my family rigid, going on about my idea of flash cars. Though they do find my ability to identify cars from a front angle view highly curious

I don't think it's that big a deal really, but then they're easily impressed...coming from people who couldn't tell a VW from a Ferrari

Mitsubishi Galant, eh? Sweet....

I've always been partial to a Subaru Impreza myself, though if I won the lottery there's only one car for me - a
Porsche Carrera GT. Boy, I'd sell my grandmother for one of those...
I guess the slightly more down-to-earth ideal car would probably be an Audi TT - beautiful piece of machinery...and German engineering has to be amongst the best. Though a Mustang would be pretty cool too...we don't get too many of those over here though, sadly.
You can imagine what a huge trial it is being stuck with a lowly Ford Fiesta right now

Well, actually...I'm not even stuck with that at the moment because it's off the road - ABS console is knackered, so I'm driving a silver Ford Focus Sport for the next couple of weeks. That's a pretty sweet car too though - heck of a difference when you're used to a 1.1 engine to suddenly be behind the wheel of a 1.8

You only breathe on the accelerator and you're doing 60 - beautiful car...I don't want to give it back!

Louise that link you posted is an awesome car. I love Porsches. I forgot about them when I first posted! Haha. I would definately be happy for life if I had a Porsche. I'd just drive it around town all day long so that everybody could see me and be jealous.
And I know what you mean about differences in engines when you can't drive your own car. Whenever mine needs something fixed I drive my parents' car which is a Chevy Trailblazer. When I go from my little sedan to that I feel like I'm behind the wheel of a bus! I like to hit the gas hard though and have it make loud noises because the little 4 cylinder engine in my car isn't loud enough for my liking! Haha.

Feb 10 2007, 07:41 PM
Well, you could always drill holes in your muffler

I remember, a couple of years back, I was driving an old model Fiesta and my muffler started to corrode and eventually, went into a full blown hole. Made one heck of a noise, I tell you...but I thought it was the coolest thing ever

Free turbo-upgrade and my car sounded like an Impreza on Speed

Not that I seriously recommend drilling holes in one's muffler, of course....

I wouldn't have said the Galant was so "little" though! Certainly not compared to my shoe-box Fiesta. Though I guess in comparison to the Trailblazer, it probably is small

I've never really been fussed on SUV's though to be honest - they're too top heavy, centre of gravity is all wrong. I'm more your sports car kind of gal really - nice, low chassis, good manoeuvrability, all that jazz, you know. The only trouble is that they're *really* uncomfortable!! A mate of mine used to drive a Vauxhall Tigra which, strictly speaking, isn't in the same realms of a true sports car, but it's the closest I'm ever likely to come to one - what an experience that was...the back seat was not designed for human beings to sit in, I tell you..not to mention that everytime she hit a bump in the road, my head hit the rear windshield

After going 40-odd miles in that thing, I decided that maybe my little Fiesta wasn't so bad after all!

Oh my gosh! A thread after my own heart! I looove cars, talking about cars, driving fast cars, all that jazz. A girlfriend of mine asked me how I could still be single since I love cars, don't like chic flicks, and watch football. Hmmm... *pondering*
Anyway, I drive a VW Jetta. It's disel so I get awesome gas milage (about 45 mpg in town 50-52 mpghighway) and it's cute enough that I'm not driving a mini van or anything. I didn't know how to drive a standard before I bought it so my brother took me to downtown Littleton Colorado to learn, at the ripe ol' age of 24. LOL
My dream car would be a 68 Shelby Mustang (think Eleanor from 'Gone in 60 Seconds' starring Nicholas Cage). Man those things are sweet! I don't plan on keeping my Jetta forever, so when I get a new car it will definitely be some sort of Mustang. Even a Cobra if I could afford it.

I own three cars, a truck, a Jeep Wrangler and a Camaro RS. I like fast sporty cars, hence thats why I own a sports car lol. My all time fave dream car cause I love the way they look has to be a white Cadillac Escalade, with the sporty spinners to boot. I don't know why but I have always loved those SUVs, tey are awesome to look at!

I love cars, but I don't have enough money to buy an amazing one now. I have had two cars in my life, a 2005 Ford Explorer Pick up truck, and a 2006 Ford Escape. I like em both but the pick up was roomier and better. I'd rather have a mustang.

If you like Mustangs, you should talk to my buddy. He recently restored a '65 coupe. Nothing special, but it is his baby.
Personally, I like to go older. I would love to have a '36 Studebaker Dictator coupe and a '46 Studebaker M5 hotrod. Those are beautiful cars. For performance, I would like a 2003 Nissan Skyline GTR. I would have that be completely black...as dark as possible.
I have my Nissan, but it is only a '96 Maxima SE. It is a good car for me. But that doesn't stop me from dreaming. I wouldn't mind anything Nismo, either.

I drive my father's new Opel Corsa...and that's great! Very comfortable, not too big (and that's good when you drive in a city and you need to park!!) and silent engine.... when I cannot drive it, I have to use and old Fiat 600...it is veeery small and the change is so hard... eh, don't let me talk about the reverse, it's awful! But I'm modelling the muscles of my right arm! A positive thing!

I love the old Opel Tigra and all the Minis of this world....they are so cute!!

Well I don’t drive because I’m not old enough yet (Im only 16 and obver in England we have to wait until we are 17) but I do have an interest in cars after all I watch Top Gear all the time

It’s so amusing. James, Jeremy and Hammond are so funny and make cars fun.

My most favourite really expensive car (and I mean really expensive) is the Bugatti Veyron. I just love the colour (black) the shape and the style not to mention its really fast

Dec 8 2007, 02:25 PM
I used to love Top Gear, now I find their antics a little school boyish! Mind you Clarkson and Hammmond both live in the same county as me and I occasionally see then shopping on a SAturday afternoon. I have a lot of time for Hammond afetr that accident of his earlier this year. He could have been killed, it takes a lot of courage to get back behind the wheel after something like that. Anyway, that's all off topic!!
I drive a Mini Cooper S convertible. I've had her since new. In the summer it's fantastic driving around the country lanes where I live with the top down.
This is similar to mine colourwise. Mines a bit darker though. The Mini is fun, but the visibility through the rear window is appalling because of the cloth roof line. Reversing is a nightmare!
If I could I'd own the new
Audi A5 but I've always had a soft spot for the
Audi A4 convertible. All in all though, I'm a sucker for an
Aston Martin DB9 sweet!

Oh Elaine, your car is beautiful! It is actually one of my dream cars!
I drive a marine blue jeep compass (that's the car I sacrificed my Christmas holiday for! Hahaha!) And it is nice so far. In my country, since it's so rocky, and the government has this tendency as to keeping the taxes for their own, the roads are full of holes and you can't drive too fast, so I had to get an SUV. This is
my baby. Same color and all, only difference: mine's got racks on its roof and tinted windows.
The only thing I complain about it is how much it swallows gas! It's engine isn't so big, but you can't actually drive in another gear than first or second, there's a lot of traffic in the city, and the holes! I don't want to break my car!
I dream of my mom's 2002 BMW 320d: it's a diesel! A beautiful fast car and very economic, but hey, I cannot really complain. Every now and then it's at the shop because something like the suspension or something else happens to it because of the holes on the streets! I remember I once bumped its tummy into a speed reduction thingy on the street and had to take it to the shop because it started making a weird noise... My mum was furious because I wasn't careful enough!
I love sport cars! And specially german: BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, and Minis are all sweet rides! I wish I lived in a country where I could own a roadster or a mini, they are just so nice!

Dec 10 2007, 04:03 PM
Well Elaine your car is wicked! I'd love a convertible to be able to feel the wind in your hair! Believe it or not I don't care much for Audis, they don't drive as well as I thought they would. But the Aston Martin *drools* I love.
Anita your jeep rocks my socks! I'm such a sucker for Jeeps! It went to the point that I actually said yes to a date with a guy who had a Jeep (shallow I know) the worst thing is that I was bored the entire night until he let me drive his car!
Well I use to drive a Tsuru, but since traffic is horrible and plus I'm a poor college student who doesn't have money for gas I let my older brother use it because he's currently resorting an old car. So well now I don't have a car... this is what's left of it. It's sad I know but well I don't know if it could be repaired. That's the end of ecstasy.
My poor baby. So I guess I'm going to have to stick to the train!

Stef: Your car: poor baby! What happened to it?
Thanks for the comment about the jeep! I'm loving the being-on-a-second-story kind of ride, specially with the roads here. My mom actually named it Skippy because she says now I'm "bouncing" through the holes!
I don't blame you... I once dated a guy because he had this huge Ford F150 and I could actually picture myself arriving in a beautiful car like that. He was a total jerk and guess what? Never allowed me to drive it!
The only thing I complain about my car: it swallows gasoline! I think sometime soon I'll be posting here something like "my car made me go broke"... Seriously! It's over $100 a week and for short distances! It's supposed to be a little economic...
As for Elaine's car... I'm in love! I fell for convertibles when I saw the movie Spanglish with Adam Sandler: the way the guy made Tea Leoni's hair flow with the wind in that Audi TT made me realize it... Oh convertibles! They are so beautiful! And Minis! Sweet combination!

Cars....mmmmmmm. I love cars. My current primary vehicle is a Nissan Maxima. I love the body style and the smooth handling of my Maxima. The last one I had died (when I rolled off the moutainside during a blizzard) at 235,000 miles. My current one has 140,000 and is still running perfectly. I love it.
Classic American muscle is a thing of beauty. I really like GTOs and Corvettes (although they are classified at sports cars, not muscle). I also want some classic Studebakers.

Wow i love to talk about cars! But the car I really wish I had for right now would definetely be a McLaren F1. Whats not to love about a car as fast and high quality as that? But my ultimate dream car is one of the original Aston Martins. Those cars are in a complete class of their own.

I have two kids and the van works great for us.

I only just started driving last week. I'm driving my mom's van. It's kinda junky so if I was to bang it up, it wouldn't be so upsetting.

But when I have my own car......ohhh yeah! I'd love to get a Mustang convertible! Yes! I also really like Toyota Highlanders. They're pretty sweet too. For now, I have to content myself with the junky. Maybe someday I'll be able to drive my brother's Nova!

I drive around in a red 1986 Volkswagen convertible Rabbit. Which I had to fix up with my Dad. It had once been my Mom's and needed some work. Also for any Twilight fans out there you will notice it is the exact same car Jacob drives!

My older brother used to have a silver Volvo, but he sold it

Well hah I drive a 1997 Dark Greenish Nissan Maxima

I like it personally. I don't need a top of the line car [at the moment

] to make me happy. My dad is though getting me for graduation [set to be in 2010] and he is getting me my favorite car. A 2008 Red Cadillac CTS (: then when I establish my career I want to be able to buy with my own money a black 2003 or 2004 Cadillac Escalade. I also like Bentley's , and Mercedes. Yea lol

I have to first off say I love cars! Actually are a passion of mine.
I'm only 17 so i'm only learning to drive at the moment, and unfortunately my parents suck and won't buy me my own car. Hopefully I can do my test soonish though and my idea is to buy a beat up old mini, VW bug (the old versions of the two) or a VW T2 hippy van

And buy it really cheap and get my dad to help me fix it up.
I love classic cars so if I do go through with that plan that would be amazing.
However, my dream cars - the type of cars I won't own until I'm rich and famous (which, trust me, WILL happen!)
McLaren Mercedes SLR
Koenigsegg CCX - with the top gear spoiler
Bugatti Veyron
Pagani Zonda F
Ascari A10
Lambo Gallado
Aston Martin Vanquish (Or the Vanish from James Bond would be good too
)
Vauxhall VXR - it's actually quite nice
BMW Z4
Audi TT
Audi R8
Mazda RX8
Lotus Elise
Toyota Supra
Nissan GTR
Nissan 350Z
Ferrari Scuderia
Mercedes CLK
Porsche 911
TVR TuscanAnd trust me, I will one day own all of them. And probably more.
I'd also love to own an entire Formula 1 team. Maybe McLaren, or BMW.. just
not Ferrari. lol
Yeah, I said I loved cars

I own a blue Audi R8. It was my dream car before I passed my driving test and my parents bought it for my 18th birthday. They even got it in my favourite colour! I would've been quite content with an old banger as my first car, though. Anyway, the truth is I rarely drive it because I driving makes me very nervous. A teenage girl ran out in front of my car just a few month after I got my license and after hitting her, I went into shock. That kind of ruined my whole driving experience. I only drive when my destination is too far too walk to and whenever I visit my parent's house because I don't want to hurt their feelings!
