I was just wondering... what do you think about Fleur?
Personally I don't like her... She seems to me just to be full of herself...
I know plenty of people like her... just think that they are all that and that people should just bow down to them...
I think that everyone has someone like her in their lives... Someone who is just so annoying and thinks that they are all that and ugh... I can't even think about it...
So this is just a thread where you can talk about how much you hate the pretty-preppy-princess- girls...

I don't mind Fleur, she's actually pretty nice when you think about it, I mean, it isn't her fault she's pretty and everyone loves her because of it. Hermione and Ginny are just jealous, because she's marrying Bill. She must be a good witch to make the triwizard tournament, right? Fluer may be concerned about beauty, but she can be nice too, especially near the end of the Half Blood Prince.
I can't say I know anyone like her, I go to a small school though.

Yeah I know that she can be nice at times... but... I just think that she is a tiny bit full of her self... mostly when we first meet her in GoF...
But still she is just a pretty-preppy-princess that needs to be smacked upside the head... along with a few other girls at my school...
Like, you guys know what girls I am talking about... the girls that ignore if you aren't thin or pretty or whatever... they are just mean and I don't know... lets just say I'm a dork because I am the only person who reads Harry Potter at my school and I have had some really bad expeirences with some "Fleurs"... I have come home crying who knows how many times because of them...

i really think she's nice, i mean, she's half a veela and we can't judge her coz she didn't ask for it

Lil Cougar, I think you're right. It's not like Fleur's world contains only Fleur. It contains much more, like Fleur's hair, Fleur's nails, ... You know what mean.
Yet I think JKR just wanted to make fun of the stereotypes we may have of other people. Like, all the French girls are pretty but arrogant, and all the Russian (or Bulgarian) Boys are evil (and evil-looking)...

Though I don't know any Cheerleaders, I know which kind of girls you are talking about: these princesses who are beautiful but dumb. One girl I saw in TV (she wanted to beocme Miss Germany, I believe), she should show where the border between East and West Germany had been and she divided it into North and South...
Unfortunately, we do have some of these girls at school. So sad...
One thing I like to add: Not every guy likes these girls (for example I don't)! Girls, please don't think that every single guy is stupid enough to fall in love with one of these Little-Princess-Girls, though unfortunately the majority is...

I know a lot of girls like Fleur, they aren't necessarily mean, but they would probably jump at the chance to spread some gossip. There are plenty of girls like her, girls that are gorgeous but lack a brain to form coherent sentences that don't have to do with shopping or nail polish.
DoubleD, sadly, you're right. I wish that most guys didn't find that kind of thing to be attractive, but it's the way society works, I guess. Girls like me, with a brain but nothing else to speak of are forever ignored. Maybe someday guys like this will wake up, and realize that they fell for a bimbo.

Fleur seems ti be all right. Really i don't have anything aganist her. I just thing sometimes she expresses herself alot in more ways then one.

She is quite a strong character as she made it into the Triwizard Tornament.

Well I don't like Fleur Delacour one bit!!! She is a strong character or else like Seriouslysirius said she wouldn't have got picked to represent Beauxbatons in the Triwizard Tounament!!

Fleur Delacour is by all account very nice in the Harry Potter books. She was never "bi*chy" or "caty" and proves Molly Weasley wrong in The Half-Blood Prince by sticking with Bill after he was attacked.

In that respect, do I know any good looking girls who get a bad rep because of how they look? Sure, and the one's who are in the wrong are those who judge them as self-absorbed and up-themselves without actually knowing them, which is just as wrong as any other form of prejudgice in my opinion.

I don't believe anyone is classified as normal in my school... the plastics think they are normal... but they aren't...
We have so many plastics in our school that are school is just plastics, emos, and geeks... But the plastics can't just leave it at that we have differnt types of geeks...

Geeks with good grades
Geeks who don't where Hollister
Geeks who (fill in the blank)
Basically anyone who the plastics don't think is cool then they are a geek... but some geeks are worse than others... like its worse to be in band than it is to have good grades...


My school too... teachers have started giving out detentions to them because they put it on in class...

Well thank you all for posting I knew I wasn't the only one who hates her!!

I don't really pay attention to cliques at my school, and I know that when I'm in college (Yale!) and when those girls are bagging groceries, that none of these things will matter. But what I have noticed, that it's people like them, and then it's the rest of us.

yeah, fleur's alright, although she's a bit over herself and kinda thinks she's too good everything, but yeah...she is strong and loyal and I guess that's all that really matters. I have a friend, who's like her, actually. she nice, but too proud of herself.

In the fourth book Fleur was funny and odd so I liked her, but in the sixth book when she declared her love for Bill no matter what, I couldn't help but really like her. She may be a 'plastic' as you call them, but she does care about Bill, no matter how he looks. That's got to count for something, right?

My school is very strange, the 'plastics' mix with the 'geeks', some of the band geeks are dating plastics, the emos also date plastics and even geeks, and basically everyone mixes. It's confusing: I like to separate people into separate groups but my school seems to be blurring the lines between them. I, myself, am a Nerd. My definition of a Geek is someone who likes something or is somewhat obsessed with something, so Band Geeks like music and play music, Sci Fi geeks like Sci Fi, HP geeks (I'm one of these) obviously love HP. The nerds are the ones that are actually smart. Oh now I sound so full of myself. Ignore what I just said.

In my school there aren't really cliques. Just a bunch of people who hang with certain others. There are some, however, who are more popular than the rest and get voted for everything! I find myself to fall right smack in the middle. If I were to separate my school into groups there would be.....

the other preps that aren't cheerleaders
the jocks
the "band geeks" (me not into the music much)
the ex-band members (which is like half school, band was popular in the junior high)
the red necks
the druggies
the drop outs
the gang members
the pregnant girls

Well, those are the groups. I find myself to get along with most of them and could not just classify myself in one group. I would fit in about 4: the band geeks, the class clowns, the nerds, and the somewhat normal. We have a lot of those "Fleur Delacour" people. They have such perfect images, it seems, when really on weekends they act like tramps and get "high". But we all just sort of mix with one another. We have those certain group of people that we hang out with, but we also have many other good friends.

i fit into those 3 lol nice classification unknownlocket really, anywho i've been surrounded by fleurs my whole life and some of those fleurs loved to make my life a living hell so well yeah i don't like people who should be singing the song from wizard of oz "if i only had a brain" so yeah emm ok sure

I hate to say it but I can be a bit of a "Fleur" sometimes.

Not all the time, just when I'm in a nasty mood. I get really overproud I guess. A bit full of myself? Not much but sometimes.

Oh my gish. There is this EVIL girl in my year who is AAAAAAAAAAARGH!!! I hate her so much! She's sooooo bigheaded.

There was this girl in my grade who was evil. Or at least I thought she was. She always whined, cried, complained, annoyed, and always wanted to have her way. I absolutely hated her, but now that I know her, we sort of are friends. I mean we don't hang out and eat lunch together, but we kind of talk and I can tolerate her now without making nasty comments underneath my breath.

But now, there is this other girl that I hate. I wouldn't exactly categorize her as a "Fleur Delacour" but she is stuck up. The worst part is that we used to be "sort of" friends, but now she hates me. She says that I have changed by becoming cocky and rude, when she's the one to me who appears arrogant. Argh, there will always be those kind of people in this world, unfortunately.

In my school we only have a few groups....well, in MY year anyway:

- Stuck up, annoying, MEAN kind

- "Cool" kids

- Geeks

- Class clowns

- Sports freeks

- Drama kids (ME!!!!)

i know the feeling. she can be a nice girl but she drives me bonkers ! argggggggggggggggh! if you ever have a civilised conversation with her i would be in shock. she's so stuck up. she's always saying how great it is to be blonde with blue eyes, and how she doesn't have spots and NEVER has to use concealer. And we're like: "Well we got brown hair and we're proud! You will get spots when you reach puberty so don't get on your high horse about that *she's tiny and just isn't really a teenager* and we saw her using concealer last week! ARGHHHH i know it sounds pathetic but going slowly mad here. Whatsup with this fleur delacour type... why can't they deflate their heads and act normal?!

I know what you guys mean by the Fleur type, and yeah they are everywhere. I hate those kind of people BUT I don't believe Fleur should be put into the category. In HBP I thought, yeah ok Fleur is a bit stuck up, but that's what Ginny and Mrs Weasley thought, they were both proved wrong. Fleur can't be marrying for money because the Weasley's aren't rich and not for looks anymore because of what the werewolf did to him. She didn't care that his face was mangled, now anyone who would be put into the self centered up herself girl type category wouldn't do this.

Yeah, I have a friend like that. Well actually she isn't really my friend, but she is my best friends friend so if I want to be with my best friend I am forced to hang out with her.
She loves band and thinks that anyone who isn't in band is a dork, including me even though I am in band now. She is like "I am the biggest band geek in the school and I am so proud of myself," and then if someone tells her she is a band geek she gets all upset. And I play piano and since the concert band doesn't need a piano I decided to try out for jazz band with my best friend and her... and when I told them that I was she was like, "Well why would you even try, you suck at piano, there is no way that you will make it," and she has never even heard me play, and I told her that, and then someone stayed after just to listen to the band and when they saw her, they were like "How in the world did you make it, you suck," and she started crying, and I said "Well isn't that what you did to me?" And she was like "I'm sitting here crying and you aren't even going to tell me that I'm good? Your not a very good friend."
I hate her!! And the worst part is she never lets me talk to my best friend! Everytime that I try to talk she interupts me!! No matter what I do!!

i think fleur her self can be nice but ive got a friend who is so stuck up her own arse lol everytime she sees me, all she talks about is her love life her friends its just all about her an it really gets on my nerves especially since shes my best friend lol

in my school we have the

Tarts- always putting on makeup in leeson, wearing hair extensions, dying their hair blonde to try and look dumb ( they dont even have to botherlol)

Emo's- slitting their wristes, wearing black dark eye makeup, wearing black all the time, dying their hair black and being depressed.

Chavs- Wearing burberry, sayin things like " innit mosh" and hanging round street corner smoking swearing and picking fights

geeks- smart,quite, not many friends


im friends with loads of these people except for the tarts, they try to act dumb !! whoacts dumb to get attanetion?

i have to say im none of these, well i might be a geek when it comes to Harry potter and dr who but otherise i dont come under any of these thank goodness lol

I think fleur Delacour is nice.I just thought that Ginny and Hermione and Mrs.Weasley are overreacting.......Fleur is nice but her french accent to english adds some spice!

I am surrounded by Fleur's. They can be nice though. I have a friend who can be quite like Fleur. Her name is Maddy and we have a little singing/piano/guitar group. She is quite nice to me but she can be very full of her self and "tart-y" at times.

My school is separated into the following categories:

-Nerds/Geeks - Not many friends, very smart but can be the nicest people ever!!

-Wannabe's - People who act like those who they're not. For instance, this one girl who is always trying to be like me. It's soo annoying.

-Musical People - People that are into the band and stuff like that.

-Drama Club/Actors and Actresses - The category that I fall into. The people in the drama club always hang out together. No matter what grade we're in!

-Druggies/Dropouts - The smokers and people like that.

-Fleur's - Full of themselves, pretty ... Fleur!! lol

-Too Cool For School - People who don't care at all about school or anything it has to offer.

-Average Kids - Quiet, not that outgoing ... normal. At school for school ONLY.

-Jocks - Sports, sports, sports.

I don't hate Fleur. But she seems to me that she's the kind of person hwo won't go camping, unless it's on a bed in a cabin. Stuff like that, couldn't survive without her accesories.

There is a few girls at school who are just like that. The one I know the best because she's in my Girl Scout troop was fretting over the fact that when you go to Washington D.C. next month she's only allowed to bring one bag. It's like really. You can go for three days without a walk in closet!


Like what Ladie Lily Potter said, my school is divided up into those categories. I think I fit into the Nerd/Geek slot. I have a lot of friends though. I'm not really that much of a nerd....

I agree Potters Princess.. I think she's pretty cool, but a little bit.. eh.. how do you say that.. spoiled. I'm afraid that half of my school is like that... my school is one of the schools in Rotterdam with the most spoiled brats. They all play hockey [no offense, hockey isn't the worst], only have very expensive clothes like D&G etc., they hate me [] and are always pushing you aside.

Well I don't think Fleur is too bad, but I do think she's a bit up her own arse But because of that I think there are a couple of groups she could belong in when you look at the different groups in my school:

* the charvs - bleeuuuurgh. The people who are the 'popular' crowd, but no-one can stand them apart from themselves! They bleach their hair blond, get pregnant cos they think it's cool, spread rumours, smoke, drink, cause nuisances in school ... and asking our crowd if we've 'goff the time' cos we're goths. Hate them. Fleur kind of goes here, in the way that she is a bit in love with herself and is sometimes oblivious to other things going on around her.
* the trendies - the charv wannabes. The people who like to think they're charvs, but are just a bit up themselves - Fleur goes here, probably more than any other group cos although she isn't as bad as the charvs, she still loves herself and is a bit stuck up.

Others:
* the sporty lads - self explanitory.
* the geeks - they're actually okay, and I'm good friends with some of them, but they're always just called 'the geeks'
* the stoners - the ones who go to the green at Newcastle every weekend and get drunk, get stoned and get pregnant. Not joking, and they're only 15. I used to be good friends with them but then they turned into slight tearaways ...
* The goths - that's me! We all get called the goths, even though a lot of my mates aren't into that style, but just generally, we're the goths. I suppose I could also be with the 'geeks' simply cos I'm one of the best in my year for the work side of things, and, well ... lets face it, I'm a Harry Potter freak

But yeah, that's where I'd put Fleur, and I know she has a nice, friendly and sensetive side, but I don't think there's a place reserved for those aspects

I like her! She seems like a really nice girl that is a bit full of herself but not in a bad way. I named my account after her lol. She is very smart and she is french--just like me! I think I am alot like her and she is the best!

I don't really dislike her, I just think she's a bit spoiled and vain. A lot of people are like that nowadays and most are still very polite in spite of it. I look past it, I just ignore them when they start ranting off about themselves.

She's a bit of an airhead and spoilt, not to mention vain but other than that she is alright.
A girl I knew at school had a sister exactly like Fleur, right down to the looks. She was quite snobby and full of herself at first, but like Fleur she turned out fairly nice.

I like Fleur Delacour. But um, I don't think that I know anyone like her. I really don't like to associate with people like that.

I think Fleur's O.K. She is a bit full of herself but that's just about it...
At first she seems really snobby but i guess when you get to know her you see the nice and sensitive side. After all, she took care of Harry, Hermione, Ron, Luna, Dean, Ollivander & Griphook (in Deathly Hallows just after Dobby died)
