Will the 5th movie go into detail with the veil? I mean, the book doesn't go into much detail and nothing happens with it except Sirius falling through. Will Harry fall in and be pulled out? Will more than one person fall through? Will the veil be the centerpiece of the final battle in the Department of Mysteries, or just Sirius's demise, like in the book?

I certainly hope they don't dumb it down at least. I think that the veil will be important in the last book, so to make small of it just seems wrong to me. Plus, it plays a huge part in the OOTP book what with killing Sirius and all.

Well I think only Sirius will go through the veil and die, and when I saw the trailer it showed the time turners being smashed and the fountain of Magical co operation, so I imagine that the big fight will be spread out throughout the Ministery Of Magic.

I certainly hope they stay true to the film and i'm counting on the fact that they will include alot of detail, which has been made in the books. However, i wouldn't bet on it that the filmmakers will make it as detailed as the book because that would be just silly, not to mention boring.
I have heard, though, the Director, Mike Newell (i think that's his name??? unsure.gif), has incorprated alot of depth in his work and i feel that he shows alot of compassion for the Harry Potter books because it seems that he is attempting to include everything, which is important in the book - and i meen EVERYTHING!!
First of all, i have heard that somewhere in the film, Harry, and some others (including Luna and Neville), seem drawn somehow to the Veil; so it looks as if Newell is trying to foreshadow the significance of The Veil for later books - and i won't even be surprised if JK Rowling has been paying him hints to have him understand the importance of this veil.
Not only that, but i have also heard that Mike Newell has been trying to foreshadow the developing relationship between Harry and Ginny; it was stated by someone that they both share a look in the film, which should be just, OMG ohmy.gif, overwhelming to those of us fans out their. This proves that this new director is definitely committed enough to make a great interpretation of the most-loved novel there is. Therfore, it can guarantee that the issue of sirius' death and the viel will be dealt with quite harmoniously. happy.gif

I sorry peeps...but i did get the director's name wrong before; his actual name is David Yates. I'm very sorry for this mistake, its just that i got confused because i so often heard the name of the director before this film, who made Goblet of Fire, and i couldn't remember the other name.
Cheers. It's cool cool.gif

This is an odd question. I certainly hope the director doesnt go into any more detail than the book does because then he will be makeing stuff up, and i hate that. Since they are already short on time they will most likely just show the part when Sirius falls into the veil. I dont think they will show the part when they are all looking around for Sirius. As long as they dont make stuff up about the veil and let Rowling do her work then im cool with it.

Well, considering what people have done in the past (i.e. dancing lessons with McGonagal + even in Chamber of Secrets, they changed what happened during the Quidditch match coz we never heard JK mention Hermione doing a spell on the bludger, only that it exploded on its own) i wouldn't be surprised if they changed the rules a little bit because even if in the book JK doesn't mention harry or anyone else feeling drawn to the power of the veil, it will probably work out in the end because imagine if JK hinted to the director that there could be some significance of the veil in later books that she just wished she foreshadowed in Ootp; it would make sense for her to ask David Heyman or Yates to incorporate this massive detail in the film.

I think that the reason why Harry Luna and Neville will be seen drawn to the veil would be linked to their experiences with death. Only that they have all lost loved ones in the past and maybe, perhaps maybe the secret to the veil is that there lies a door to another spiritual dimention, and in Deathly Hallows this will probably be where harry sees his parents, Sirius, Dumbledore and Cedric Diggory and will suddenly uncover the truth. Luna will most probably see her mother. Perhaps the two-way mirror will uncover most of this.

I really really hope they show us everything, I mean, I've read the book, and pictured it in my head, but now i want to see it how J.K. pictured it

Hey this is kind of off topic....but where is the trailer for the Ootp.....I'd really like to see it smile.gif
Serius's apprentice
Maybe in the movie Harry will run up to it to try to get Sirius out and then Lupin or someone pulls him out of it.

If they keep 2 the book i will be
happy. It would just waste time
drew it out into a very long boring
part of the film. They should just
keep to the book.
Seriouslysirius
I think they might draw enough atention to the veil for a bit of clue that it may have some important signifagance. I think they will keep to the book. About the time it makes you to read it they should make the secne that long. I don't think anyone else will fall through. As that isn't waht happens in the book and who else could fall through excpet main Characters? I just think it will be poor old sirius. sad.gif
gemz
they should include the viel, it ouldnt be the order of the phoenix ending without it :S

i hope they do go into deatil but because its a film they cant go into the same amount of detail as in the books but hopefully they will try smile.gif

I hope that they don't shorten the into the Veil scene, although Sirius has to die, that is still my favourite scene sad.gif
Hermione_18
I hope the veil looks exactly as I imagined it:D
