Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
Well we all know the book has not come out yet, and that the Movie of Deathly Hallows is to be out in 2010. So I decided to make my own Deathly Hallows movie poster. Tell me what you think.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d38/Hathen/dh.pngBy Hathen and helped a little tiny bit by Vuolex.
Hi Hathen, welcome to VTM
No worries, I think the General Movies or maybe HBP film forum could be best. Once the Wizengamot Elders make a forum for the Deathly Hallows film, the staff will move the thread there.

Its great poster since many speculations are that the hallows may be in the hogwarts ground great idea
Muggle_Born_Girl

That's really good!

I like the idea of using the grounds too. Also, it has a really mysterious and creepy look about it, which is really good seeing as we don't know much about what the Hallows are or what the books is going to be about. Well done!

That's really neat. I like how it's grey and creepy looking. How long did it take you to make? Keep up the good work! I always wondered what it would look like!

Personally, I think it's a little plain, but with a little bit of work it has potential to be really good!
I see talent in your paws, young warrior. May StarClan bring it into full blossom...
And besides, I'm eleven years old, and eleven is the age where you think you're the computer graphics wizard...(Well, my technophobic parents are always the ones who call me "Oh, brilliant one..." But hey, thats technophobic for you!)
Do not be daunted my those who envy you. Those consumed with it often travel on unsteady paws themselves...

It's pretty good. Like Muggle_Born_Girl said it's mysterious.

That poster actually ties in remarkably with the Deathly Hallows book cover. I've seen it and at the back they have a view of the Hogwarts Castle. Well done for that, i mean that was really wierd how they both coincide with one another, isn't it? It does, i have to admit, give me goosebumps because your poster is LITERALLY foreshadowing the book alreadyand we havn't even read it yet.

very cool idea to put it on Hogwarts ground since howarts probably will play a role in DH

for HBP i think it should have the tagline at the bottom, with a picture of the pensive and inside the pensive we see DD with the 11 yr old LV..
It has that i wonder feeling about it becasue i think the tagline should be 'only problem is the other side have magic to, prime minister' and having a sight of DD and young LV in the pensive makes you wonder and want to see what will happen
what do you guys think?

I like it, simple. I think that the final fight will be at Hogwarts, but I'm not sure about that. I like the black and white, gives it a timeless sort of fell.

Cool poster! What software did you use to make it? Bryce? Worldbuilder? Or something else completely different? I always thought that Bryce was easy to use once you get the hang of it.

Not exactly what you'd call revealing. Or intriguing for that matter

. It's OK.

Sorry for being mean.

Wow that looks really good. It doesn't have that much in it and its simple but, it gets the message across since Hogwarts is really important in this book. Awesome Job!

Jul 30 2007, 09:54 AM
Oh wow. That is very well done. Excellence in it's simplicity. But I think the actual one will feature the trio and some sort of action scene in the book. But that is really well done. I know I couldn't do anything like that. Good job

Aug 3 2007, 05:49 PM
Wow. That's really cool. The only problem I have with it is that all it is is Hogwarts. I would put maybe a person, or something to really grab people. Also maybe a tagline at the bottom. Sorry for being so mean!!!
Muggle_Born_Girl
Aug 4 2007, 02:37 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong... but this poster was produced before the book came out? So maybe it lacks the spirit of the book but that's because the artist hadn't read it yet.
I think it works really well as a mysterious and intruiging poster.

Dont mind me but I think its too plain and simple. You should have added the characters instead of the castle. Not to mention the pixel looks dull.I do like the heading though the mix with purple is excellent!

We used fireworks for this poster and we put hogwarts because we thought it would have a main role in the final battle and now that weve read it it did have a huge role at the BATTLE OF HOGWARTS
I think it is real awsome and i like what we did
for a tag line i am going to use THE LAST ENEMY THAT SHALL BE DEFEATED IS DEATH

A pretty cool poster

Nice work. Slightly creepy and mysterious, good work. I do think that it is simple but simple is good and it doesn’t give too much away. I might ry making one myself to see if I can

If I do I may post a link on here if that is okay??

I think that tagline will be really good! I like that one.
I think that it is a little plain (I'm not wanting to sound harsh or mean
) but I think it has the potential to look really good. I like how it has this mysterious creepy feeling to it like Sabrina_Rose_Snape said.

I quite like it. Using Hogwarts as a backdrop was a terrific idea. On the other hand, just the castle looks a bit too plain, using some characters would make it look better. All the same, cool work!
Well, I tried my hand at making a poster too, it's quite unprofessional, but then, it's not really my job to make posters for movies, but here's the link:

Sorry if I shouldn't have made a topic for this but I saw the poster one so I thought this would be okay.
I made a trailer for the Deathly Hallows movie using clips from the previous five movies and I would like to share it with you guys. Any feedback/comments on it are appreciated!
I tried to incorperate as many plot points from the book as I could but the book was fairly long so I mainly only included the ending.
It starts off a bit slow, reviewing Harry's past six years at Hogwarts then I get into the plot of the seventh book.
I worked very hard on this so enjoy it.

Oh yeah, that is so right! Now that I think about it, I definitely should have had Dobby up there. Thanks,I'll keep that in mind for the next one, lol

I'd love it if you emailed me the vid, please! I'll PM you with my email address.

It's really good! Yeah, the Requiem for a Dream has been used a few times, but I never get tired of it, and its climax is very powerful - and oh so good for trailers!
What I liked about the video is the link between beginning and end, and how Lily and Voldemort and all of it ties up. The 'Death' bit was SO sad! I don't think I've properly come to terms with, for instance, Lupin's death. The book gave us a chance to mourn Dobby (heh,
I did, anyway

), but Lupin was just ... killed. Not fair!
Anyway, once again, I really enjoyed it! Well done!
xdarkserpentx
Aug 16 2007, 07:58 PM
WOO! I'm really glad you liked it a lot! I'll email it to you right away.

Oh I deffinitely mourned Dobby's death! I cried so hard. And I too think it was unfair for Lupin to just be killed off like that and Tonks too!!

I wish their deaths were a bit more climatic or if they died doing something together but then again if JK put emphasis on all the character's deaths the book would be twice as long and I'd probably not be able to finish it due to my inability to control my tears.
Anyways, you have no idea how happy your comment just made me. It was so hard to make this trailer mainly because my editing program shut down every ten minutes (literally) so it just about took me a century and a half to make it but I finally finished it!

Aug 17 2007, 01:25 AM
Whoa.
How did you do that! That's a friggin awesome video, man. I would love it if you could email it to me!

I'll follow Capricorn and PM you my email address. I really liked how it started slow and then gradually ascended - similar to an official trailer. The clips were matched perfectly with one another and I could feel emotion rising in me as I watched the last few seconds of it.
Well done... MAKE MORE! ... *ahem*
xdarkserpentx
Aug 17 2007, 02:09 AM
Thank you sooo much! I'll email it to you. I tried to pace is slowly at first then build up the tension as it moves along to a very climatic ending.
And I will gladly make more.

I was thinking about doing a Half-Blood Prince trailer. I also wouldn't mind just doing some themed videos like the ones in the Veritaserum video gallery so perhaps a ship or a relationship.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good video?
Also, I'd gladly make a video for a specific novel-length fan fiction if anyone is interested.

This is probably one of, if not the best fan made trailers I have seen. You have done it really thoughfully, and I too like the way you have shown the story from Lily finishing up with the final crescendo at the end. Really powerful, it captures the essence of the book brilliantly. I bet you could give WB a run for their money
You have obviously spent a great deal of time and effort on this. Well done.
e-mail on the way!

Do you know what you've done? It's absolutely the most interesting and best fan video I've ever watched. And there were other trailers in the "related" bar too. But yours was fantastic. It incorporates everything. It's briliiant.

I'd love to have it permanently offline and admire the work. My e-mail is there in my profile. Thanx

WOW, I'm speechless. Tears are in my eyes - didn't spill over though LOL and I've got goosebumps.
That was ......................
WOW
I simply don't know what to say. That was AWESOME.
The music, the font, the transitions.
I've got to say that although I've never seen or read any of the fanMade stuff I personally think that you've have set the bar very high for future stuff.
I really like the way you transitioned Harry/Daniel growing up through the movies.
This series would NEVER have worked filming it all at once like Lord of the Rings.
Again, words cannot convey how AWESOME that was. I will definetly be bookmarking that and am going to go watch it again right now.
Kudos to you xdarkserpentx
Watched it again and this time the tears fell.
WOW. It was fantastic. BTW What about Hedwig in the death category?
Probably would have cried more if she had been there.
I also liked that you used new music slow at first then faster and then ended off with Hedwig's theme - which will for all time be recognizable as the Harry Potter theme.
Wouldn't it be awesome if John Williams did the last soundtrack?
Anyway, let us know if you do one for HBP.

Ahh so many comments, I'll just do one bit thank you to all haha.

etphonehome,
Aww, thanks I'm glad you think I did the book justice, it was just so amazing and I really wanted to make a trailer that would reflect JK's amazing work.
Ginevra_hena,
Thanks! There are a lot of fanmade trailers on YouTube so I had a lot of competition to go against but I'm happy that you think mine was the most interesting and the best!

yecats,
*smiles hugely (the emoticon smileys aren't big enough)* You just made my day, I'm touched that my trailler made you feel the emotions that I was trying to convey and even during the second time watching it! I really hope that other people are affected by it as much as you were, it really makes me feel like I've done something worth while and artful.
I was going to put Hedwig in the Death category! I wish I did, but I had to cut it shorter because of the music so I couldn't fit her in even though I'm very tempted to take out Mad-eye and put her in instead haha. Ooooh, it would be amazing if John Williams did do the last soundtrack.
I'll let you all know when I do an HBP trailer, I just want to catch up on the fan fiction I'm writing first. Doing the trailer really distracted me and my readers have been waiting very patiently. lol

No.1_HarryPotterFan,
Thanks, I really worked hard on making it flow and actually match the sequence of events in the book. That's one of the reasons why it took me forever to make it, I had to pick and choose scenes from the previous movies and match them to a scene in the book.

I loved that trailer. It was amazing. The death part was very sad. How did you mix all those clips together? The beginning was the saddest part for me. Seeing that again and now knowing how it happened was very sad. Great job!!!!!!!!!!!
xdarkserpentx
Aug 30 2007, 04:07 PM
Thanks Felix2090!
I mixed all the clips together by uploading them in a program where I was able to cut and crop them then I would have to upload them into another program where I added transistions and put all of them together. I have to say that the actual cutting of the clips took the longest because I had to pick and choose which ones were the best to use.
I too find the beginning fairly sad, I wish I could have added more to it, but then it would be too long!
And if any of you are wondering I am currently working on a Half-Blood Prince trailer!

Nice poster. It's a good idea showing hogwarts, the battle at the end taking place there. I cannot wait till that movie. I hope that they finish it off right. I can imagine it show voldemorts dead body as the camera leaves out of hogwarts blackening.
