Okay, well this is the first time I've written a new topic so forgive me if this is done wrong *just a little bit nervous* lol.
I couldn't find this anywhere; but as i was searching through some websites, I stumbled across HPANA (another HP fansite) which had photos of the marauders and snape in the Pensieve scene in OotP. Here they are the links below:

What do you think? I'm pretty happy with how they look. I just thought James was meant to have black ruffled hair! Not a light brown bowl cut

firstly the marauders were supposed to be REALLYYYYYY good looking. and my taste they're not!
why are there only 3? where's the 4th? is the one with brown hair remus or james?
Snape is kinda what i expected but i thought he would look really similar to Alan Rickman !

To tell the truth, I am not very happy with some of it.

I think Sirius look perfect, as does peter. James though, looks a little too much like Harry Potter. I know that they looked very similar, but I couldn't imagine James looking like this. As you said supastar, isn't he supposed to have black ruffled hair?

Also, Snape looks pretty good to, but he doesn't look nearly dark enough.

When I looked at those pictures I was absolutely stunned. None of the Marauders looked anything like I thought they would, except maybe Sirius. James looks so unlike the description of his character it's funny! I do think the young Snape was quite good though. Greasy hair, hateful expression, reading a book. . . It was quite good overall, I suppose. I still cam't believe that the guy with light brown hair is James! Say it ain't so! Say it's Moony! Please! What were they thinking?!?!?!?

Oh no, no, no, no, no. I totally refuse to accept that these are the marauders. Noway. Gosh, when did they pick the actors? At night with no lights on? They are so not like the ones i imagined. Only Sirius looks a little bit like what i imagined, but still. Harry had said Sirius was good looking. All i see is a tall and well...not that pretty boy. As for James...this guy was a heartbreaker? You've got to be kidding me...He is a kid...Pettigrew...hm..only the hair is the same, but apart from that, he is a cute boy, not an ugly teenager.Remus...i couldn't really discern him but he is the one closest to what i had imagined. But they did a huge mistake. They picked boys at their early puberty. They should have picked someone more...manish...

And Tonks, she is really cute and much prettier than what i had in mind.

Exactly! Are they nuts? How can this guy be James? He would be my mate at school not the guy i would fall in love with. And certainly, not the guy all the girls would adore and love... It is just so not him...Oh...they totally blew it.

Peter looks great though, they did best on that, in my opinion.

OKAY! so it is most definitely how I pictured Snapey-poo, maybe a little smaller but they were in their fifth year so maybe he was a tad grown. But what is up with the marauders?!!!!!!!????!!! I pictured them so differently. For one, Sirius is supposed to be the hottest thing to ever walk the earth! Second, Remus is supposed to be sort of attractive but pale and sickly. Third, where is James? because that is definitely not James!!! James is supposed to look like Harry, or at least remotely. But that James does not.
and Finally, I don't really care what Peter looks like but he isn't supposed to be that rotund. Well, not in my head anyway!
But, on the bright side , they did include the marauder scene which brings me joy!

My first reaction was one of complete shock, I have been anticipating The Maurader picture for some time, specifically Sirius (hey, a girl is allowed to drool ), but there ertainly won't be any from this girl - he isn't to my taste. Not that he isn't good looking but rather not to my taste.

However, I remember in the Young Sirius thread that we were all so disappointed and dishearted by the initial picture of Young Sirius (James Walters) but then subsequent picture emerged that showed him in a much better light, so perhaps it is just a bad picture

Also, I do think that they look alarmingly similar to their adult versions - so I guess that is pretty important, for the flow of the film.

Yes a girl is allowed to drool! That was the best part of the approaching movie in my mind. ( although James could've added to it aswell!)

I agree with you completely. That is not James. I have no doubt in my mind that it must be Lupin. If it's James then I am NOT watching the movie. I am angry enough at the movie makers for leaving so much out of the movies, and I cannot forgive them for making James look like a bit of a loser with light brown hair.
Sirius doesn't look at all as I imagine him. His hair is right I guess, but his face... god he looks so full of himself! Even more than I'd imagined! Peter looks perfect
I don't think the two faces you can see in the background are any of the marauders so I'm not going to analyse how they look, even though some people seem to think one of them is Lupin.
Let's all hope that James has ruffled black hair and looks somewhat like Harry. I think we may be hoping for too much though.

Yeah, thats what I'm hoping....maybe the light light makes james' hair look light *hopes and prays* but i doubt it.At first in the photo i thought he had freckles but it was just the thin outline of glasses! Did james have glasses? i cant remember...at least thats one similarity to harry...i guess

I don't think that he did have glass when he was at Hogwarts, but I believe he did once he was an adult. I know he did in the movie, but I can't remember if he did in the book. I'm sure it would have been mentioned when he looked into the mirror of erised.

If it helps any, I think that they first picture has been photoshopped and is a fake. I work with photoshop on a regular basis, and unless she just has the strangess tan from her face to her neck, I can tell you for a certain that it is not the real thing.

I'm very disappointed with these pics. I think Wormtail is good and obviously the kid with glasses with his arm around the other boy is James and the other Sirius. I wonder why Sirius would have kept the same kind of hair all those years...and why doesn't James have his jet black messy hair? Is he supposed to have glasses...?
The guy they had cast for James looked hot, but now he really doesn't...why don't they put any effort into casting anymore. All they care about is there profit and if it takes an extra couple of days to get the right marauders they probably wouldn't bother. Why have they ruined James, I love James!! I always pictured him as hot!

I was really disappointed with the pictures. Peter has been made to look like he's really evil; and not subtle and quiet and shy like he is described the books. His hair is a bit off than I thought, and I just don't like his overall look.

Snape could be a bit more greasy looking, and I pictured him with longer hair. He probably will grow on me after I watch the movie. But that's after I'm hoping!

Sirius just looks TOO OLD! I can't work with that. Though I have an opinion on the matter, I just don't think the casting was done very well on this. His eyes are really light looking from the pictures and I thought he had darker eyes. However, I could be mistaken.

James?!? GRRR! Now I know that everyone's opinion of attractive is very different, but I thought he might be a tad more good-looking. He looks TOO much like Harry, and did he have blondish hair in the books?

I'm really hoping that their voices make up for how off they look, because their looks don't sell me off at all!

Hi, need to move this topic to the appropriate forum for the upcoming movie, my apologies for any potential confusion that may arise from the transition.

Although it is true that an actor's appearance prior to being prepped into costume does carry some relevance to how we, the audience gains the impression of an actor conveying their character; the visual appearance compliments the more vulnerable characterizations. IMO it is best to wait and view their performance, then weigh whether the actor/ress brought what we expect of the role.
Who knows? Maybe-hypothetically our impression of the actors in the Pensieve scene make a 180; perhaps the actors we've generally commended as appearing closest to canon (Wormtail and LE) give sour performances? [spoiler](it would deflate the quality of the scene horribly)[/spoiler] Albeit that would be very unfortunate, it could happen... *cough- Crouch!?-cough*
