Anyway, several months ago (like, maybe 6) Mugglenet posted a picture of the young Lily and of the young James Potter. Alas, Mugglenet is currently not working for me so I can't go get it, but it was the one found in this post:
I trust Mugglenet, they generally have very accurate and trustworthy information, and I am very sure this is the girl playing her, not that other chick you posted before. You're free to disagree but I'm sticking with this one. She looks better anyway Plus, I've never heard of or seen that other girl, Mugglenet has never updated and said they were wrong, so the first one it is!

Its just not what I thought they were going to look like because I haven't tried imagining what they look like

Um... I'm fairly sure that is Daniel Radcliffe. As good as the casting agents may be they'd never be able to find an actor that looked that similar to Dan. Besides, I don't want him to look like Daniel Radcliffe! I don't like Daniel Radcliffe at all Or how he looks. Besides, that picture is from PhotoBucket. I don't trust PhotoBucket; it's just some person's personal picture. If it was from a trustworthy Harry Potter site then perhaps I would believe it, but as it is, I don't. Sorry.
I think Lily looks okay; they can't get her exactly perfect. All that really matters is hair colour, eye colour, height (roughly), weight and perhaps attractiveness. So basically all very superficial stuff. Anyway, she has all of that the same as Lily (I think) so it's as good as we're gonna get.

i think that was DR - i want him to look differnt anyway, so either way i'm not happy.

In another photo i saw of james, when he was in the order of the phoenix, they also gave the actor lighter hair - i thoguht he was supposed to be Gilderoy Lockhart at first. That's just wierd.
However, i can kind of see why it might look better because with this hair style and colour James looks more potentially cheeky and witty than he could be with darker hair, because dark hair usually resembles - on my point of view - maturity and i think the producors must've settled with lighter hair so that he didn't seem too mature to get away with being nasty to snape and to show that as he gets older his hair changes to suit his maturity level.

well Snape... he looks pretty much how i imagined actually. prehaps not as dark as i first imagined but to be quiet honest that sort-of stuff is achieved with the lighting etc... most of the time.

Assuming the first one on the left is Sirius then.. wow!! he actually looks a lot like i imagined!! okay so i always imagined he's hair like a shade darker but hey!! but he looks slightly ... old
assuming that the one next to "Sirus" is James... then .... omg!! no dark hair no way! he is not how i imagined... not at all. apart from the hair he is ok.
now the "lumpier" lad, if he is peter then... wow. he looks pretty much like peter. i have no bad things to say about him.
now assuming that the sandy coloured hair boy between james and peter is remus then...well ican't really see him properl so erm for now i will say he's okay...

I actually dont mind what Lily looks like. She is quite pretty and I think she would be good. I just hope the movie producers can go to the effort to make her eyes GREEN after how important it seems to be according to JKR. Whats the bet they wont bother?

Dark hair resembles maturity? Hmm... I think you need to check out the stereotypes thread... That would count as a major stereotype. Besides, I know a million people with dark hair who are idiots and a million more people with light hair who are very mature and responsible. If that is why the producers gave him light hair then I must say they are stupid producers (I'm not calling you stupid ) because that is a terrible excuse to change facts from the books.
lp_supastar, I agree with you about Lily's eyes. JK has said that was important and I do hope she has green eyes, but you gotta remember that Harry has blue eyes in the movies, so the odds aren't exactly high... Fingers crossed though!

James- maturity - dark hair? Not meaning to state the obvious but James AND Sirius both have dark brown/black hair - are they "classified" as mature? - no! and Remus has light hair. Of course you're intitled to your own opinion but what?! lol

Good point there amortentia_lover; Sirius has dark hair too! And James is described very specifically as having dark hair in the books; you don't just change that in the movies to make him seem more mischeivous. And Loopy Lupin has light hair and is the most mature/serious of them all!

Even if they were trying to make him more mischevious they SHOULD have stuck to the bnooks - i mean JKR is a legend, and when you change that it all goes wrong and it WILL be rubbish! ( sorry big ORIGINAL James supporter here!)

I agree, why change it all, when people luv it the way it is. Are they perhaps, purposely changing it, in hope of gaining more publicity? DArk hair...maturity ...I have dark hair, and my friends all call me immature, cause I act like a real kid lol, but yeah...dark hair does tend to give a certain boldbess to a persons' appearance. ARGHH!!! and to think I once said "omg, SNape's memory is gonna be the best thing in the whole movie"...I'm starting to have my doubts now.

I would have to say no because I pictured James looking like Harry and everything, but the actor who plays him just, doesn't. And the guy who plays Sirius, I thought that in the book Sirius was a handsome looking guy? At least that's what I read. But I don't think that the actor who is playing Sirius isn't really handsome like the book says. Disappointed.

Well I only really found these pics by accident and i dont understand a word of spanish ...i was on HPANA a while ago and it had these pics in their new section as a link...

The only two that actually hold a resemblance to the characters is the actors who are playing Peter Pettigrew and Snape. Of course, none of them are going to be exactly how we imagined them, although I am highly disappointed with James Potter..or maybe it's just the picture. The rest of them look ok, but I'm just anxious to see how they perform and play out their characters, even though physical appearance is important, especially with these characters.

I found the pics on Mugglenet, who found them on HPANA. But Mugglenet is entirely in English, so it's not too hard

I think there are a lot of things to be disappointed about in this movie. Dobby and quidditch being cut, Dan's hair (which I really don't like ) the marauders... There will probably be other things we don't know about yet, but it looks like it's turning out to be a pretty disappointin movie... No matter how great or entertaining it is, I will be severely upset with the loss of great plotlines and the un-canon appearances of characters.

Jeez come on. You would think there are tons of people out there that look like James and Sirius. And i bet all of them would want to play in the movie. To tell you the truth i really dont like the way any look, but luckily the scene will only be 5 mins max. they just dont seem to look like anything that was described in the book.

I would have to agree with you there on that one. I mean - how come james was given fair hair? - its been made perfectly clear by JK, in the book, that Harry has inheritted his father's hairstyle - why change it?
There is another photo i came across soon after i found this one and it was of James, Sirius and Wormtail posing for a picture with the 'original' Order of the Phoenix; James (the actor) also has fair coloured hair in this one; Sirius looks pretty much the same but with a pointier moustache; we dont quite get to see Lily in any of these pictures - perhaps they want to save her for the audience and get a surprise reaction, afterall, she does only take up about a little bit of the memory, in the book. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave young James different hair coulour because the older James actor had developed the same over the years. Well, you've got to admit, he does look quite alright, and it is much more interesting casting characters differently to how they are portrayed in the book because you at least get a surprise and a complete new perspective on things when you actually see it. Plus, if you look back on the films, none of them actually mention harry having the exact same hairstyle as James, but merely the fact that he has inheritted his sense of style and attitude towards trouble. That i think makes the films alot different form the books and casts a unique pattern to them. JK herself said (accorxing to an interview with Daniel radcliffe, recently) that she views both her books and the films as two completely seperate structures, concerning the world and adventures of Harry Potter, and that they both tell a completely different story to one another, and she likes it that way because 'together' they have murged as one to form different perspectives of the Wizarding world we hold dearly and treasure, uniquely.

Just to say, i can't seem to find that picture anymore on websites - not even that spanish one. Although i already copied and pasted it onto word, it would be nice to know where on earth its disappeared off to; i mean, everytime i go onto the links where it says you can find it, i don't know where abouts it is; I even searched through all files and i can't see it.

If anyone has any clues as to why it has suddenly disappeared from the internet, please let us know. It doesn't really matter whether or not i get to see it again because i already have it, 'copied + pasted', but what if those who have'nt seen it yet or want to 'copy+paste' it can't find it? What will they do do then?

...don't you think that the person who plays James Potter does look alot like Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter). Even if his hair is fairish blonde in this one i think he still resembles a perfect James Potter.

The thing is_the bloke who plays Harry's dad in all the films does have a slight look of fairish blonde about him. Have you seen the picture of him and the Order of the Phoenix, posing for the photo harry sees in the film? He has blonde hair, just like the younger James. At list with this we can easily say that it makes perfect sense that he should have fair hair when he was younger, because James doesn't have to have dark hair - he just jas to look like harry arouns the face.

I know what you mean...the girl who plays Lily and the Hair; what was the point in that? there must've been some sort of a reason cos the costume designers and the casting directors can't have been that drunk to realise!
Also when you look at the picture of Lily it seems as though she's wearing a wig or something. I know she's not because in real life she has ginger hair, but why does it look so wierd when you look at it. Not only that but her face is a bit chubbier than what you would expect. Perhaps this is the just the camera and when we actually see the memory it will look different and we will see her as the character Lily and not some random person James is standing and talking to, eh.
To me the look of James has actually grown on me over the months and it seems to me that the actor actually does look like Daniel radcliffe - the face does anyway - and that shows us that we can safely say that all those comments from Sirius and Lupin about Harry looking like his Dad will turn out to be true in this film. Nevertheless we cannot assume that it wouldn't have been alot better to cast the actor with dark hair just like Dan as Harry, or dyed his hair all the same.

haha hopefully Lily will look better in the movie...i saw other pictures of herself (not in costume) and she looked more like lily than that.

Actually, this picture of james has actually made him grow on me too - he does look quite like daniel radcliffe! its a much better photo than the first one that was released of him

So, youn like Lee eh? Yeah he's cool too. Me and my sister were really pleased to see him win...BUT ANYWAY...back to the subject. Have you not seen what Lupin looks like yet. If you look on the Veritaserum website and look through the pictures you'll probably find the very firt one we saw of the group. Otherwise, i havn't yet seen another picture of Lupin yet. I'll keep looking until i do though, and once i have i'll post it on here. I must admit i do really like what the younger Lupin looks like - he's really cute and boyish.

james wasnt really how i imagined. i mean they could have just used radcliffe for him couldnt they? but i thought snape looked right and maybe lupin. i didnt like the others though.

i too always imagined sirius to be a little emo-ish than the others. but nothing can be perfect i guess.

I didn't even notice Lupin or Sirius. Maybe that's just because I was focusing on James who didn't quite look the way I inticipated but whatever because nothing is perfect. I thought that Snape was right on though. That was great. And just to throw this out there ... Alan Rickman did good acting out the anger after Harry sees this memory.
