I was wondering if everyone will continue to follow the creers of the Harry Potter actors and acresses once the Harry Potter films have been completed?
I’ll continue to follow the careers of Emma Watson, Dan Radcliffe and Rupert Grint. Emma gets more beautiful as she gets older, Dan is hilarious and Rupert is a very talent actor from what I’ve seen. I’d really like to see them working together sometime in the future in other films also, particularly Emma and Dan, I think they have great on-screen chemistry.
Also, outside of the trio, I’ve become quite a big fan of Alan Rickman and would love to see some future films of his.

Yeah I will probably follow some of them. A couple of them are really talkented and/or very beautiful. I can see Emma Watson going on to be a very talented and respected actress even though she said she will probably take a break from acting after Harry Potter and go to college.
I happen to think that Rupert Grint is also very funny, and I would like to see him in a strictly comedy role some day.

I will most definitely keep track of them, I'm especially looking forward to Daniel's new film Eqquis (sp?). Emma is very talented, in my opinion, and I think that she could have a lot of success. Rupert is also very talented, and I look forward to seeing more films that he stars in especially. And I love Alan Rickman's work, and I also want to see past movies that he's been in.

I am not sure that I will bother following any of the characters from HP. Although I have to admit I am interested in Daniels acting abilities. He seems to be going places we don't expect him to go - ie the nude play
Rupert is a very animated actor and will probably do well when he is allowed to express himself and grow the character. Emma - well she is so smart that she should be good at anything she attempts.
I have to admit that not being a teenager myself anymore, I don't know how they will grow from this. There is a chance of them being typecasted and not making it away from HP.
Hope I am wrong though

If they fade quietly out of famedom, I feel I can honestly say NO.
However, if they continute being in major roles of movies, sure, why not?
(It's not like I'm only following htem cause of their fame, but rather simply cause it's EASY too, and no I'm not a lazy butt or ntohing, I just really don't get that close to movies in general, and really don't feel like tagging along 3 Brit char's who may/may not re-appear that easily to those in the US. >.>;;;; ).

I think I will, most definitely. These films have started their acting career and I can't see them getting more roles in other movies because of these movies. However, it doesn't always happen to young actors where they are in ever single film and such, because they create that image and everyone thinks that they'll alwys be that way and that they must be that way and they don't want them. Still they must explore and find other things to do if they plan to stay sucessful. I will follow their careers even if they don't get tons of movie roles. It'll be interesting to see what they'll be doing in 5-10 years.

No, probably not. Out of all of them, I may check out some of Rupert's films - he really surprised me with 'Driving Lessons' - but I won't bother with the others. I can't say I'm impressed with Dan's choice of roles in 'Equus', which is a play with highly questionable taste, IMHO, but that's minor in comparison to this supreme attitude he seems to have developed over the past few months which has lost him all credibility as far as I'm concerned. And I've never been overly impressed with Emma, either.
But Gary Oldman, David Thewlis, Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson etc - I liked them all a long time before HP, and I'll still continue to like them and watch their work, but only because that's exactly what I did before.

I don't think I will follow the careers of the younger cast members intentionally. I may take an interest in something they are in just for curiosities sake more than anything else.
I agree that Emma will probably end up running some organic flower shop in Oxford, with the odd bit part now an again. Rupert and Dan will make more progression in their movie careers and I quite expect to see both of them turn up in some made for TV movies years from now, although I like to think that Dan would go further than that. I mena you only have to look at Mark Lester who played Oliver in the 1960's musical film version. He was tipped for great things. I theink he's a chiropractor in Cheltenham now.
Some of my favourite actors are amongst the older cast members. I didn't paricularly follow their careers as such, but I did watch practically everything that Gary Oldman, Alan Rickman and Maggie Smith had been in. I also watched a lot of David Thewlis's films. But I like Louise will only continue to watch them because it was what I did before.

I'll be much like Elaine, I think. If a film comes out that looks interesting to me, I'll watch it, but it probably won't be because someone from the HP films is in it.
As for the 'kids,' I suppose Dan will be the most successful. Rupert has barely stretched his wings, Tom seems more interested in fishing than acting (though maybe that's changed), and Emma hasn't appeared in anything but these films, which makes me think she's doing it for now but will find other things to interest her later. Sounds like everytime they approach her to do another one of these, she has to really think it over--which sounds like a lukewarm response in general.
Fame or no, acting takes a lot of ambition. If they aren't willing to work hard for it, it won't be happening.

well if they keep on acting and the movie seems good i will but if they start acting in really lame movies i probably won't
i will keep an eye out for the phelps twins tho i'm not sure if they're going to keep acting but i'm a fan so i will have an eye out for them

Of course. I won't follow all of their careers but possibly a few. Dan's most probably, I can't wait to see how well that guy does for himself. I have tickets to Equus so I'm looking forward to seeing Dan as a new character instead of Harry.
If Emma continues with acting I'll see how she does too, I think she's amazing as Hermione. And Rupert, Driving Lessons was surprisingly good.
Obviously if one of them goes into something I really don't like the look of, I won't watch it. But for now I don't want to think about there careers after HP because then it's all over

Personally out of them all I think Rupert's. he is the only one who is doing other films other than harry potter and he seams the most talented out of the three of them.
However. There are great actors and actress in harry potter... shame they are forgot expect the three main characters.

Let me say this: David Thewlis all the way! I now follow his films BECAUSE of his role in the Hp films!
More into the older actors, personally. Oldman, Rickman, Smith...but I might have a look at Grint's new movie. Heard good things about it.
Yay, HP actors!

Most likely. I've read quite a few interviews that the three of them have given, and I have similar tastes in music, movies, and books that they do, so I'd hazard a guess in saying that whatever they'd be in, I'd probably like.
I'm a yank, so I haven't seen Driving Lessons yet, but it comes out on DVD soon, so I'll be able to buy it, and I have no way of seeing Equs. But reviews are positive for the most part.
Of course if Emma decides she wants to become a doctor verse doing anymore acting, none of us will be seeing any more of her work, which would be a shame because she's so talented. Did you know that Natalie Portman's major at Harvard is psychology?

Oh without a doubt! Ever since SS came out, which was my Alan Rickman breakthrough, I've been constantly keeping up to date on his upcoming films and watching all of whats already out (at least that I can get my hands on). I will undoubtably continue my obsession after the final film.

Probably not. I think they're really good and everything, but I think them beng in anthing would ruin the illusion a bit for me. I've always seen them as Harry, Ron, Hermione etc. and can't really imagine them being anything else. Plus, if I did go and see them in anything else, I'd just see them as HP caracters.
I'm kind of an Alan rickman fan already (before HP) so I'd be more likely to go and see a movie of his...

Driving Lessons is out on DVD now. Me and my friend were renting movies, and he saw Rupert Grint, and that was the first time either of us heard of it. But he wouldn't let us rent it. But anyways, just thought I'd share that. Now, I really want to see it.
Also, With Equus, I doubt I'll ever get to see that. I dont know if I'd want to though, honestly.
I hope Emma doesn't go on to become a doctor, although, now that I think about it, I think I hheard her say in an interview that now that she's done a British school girl and with magic, she wants to do the total opposite, meaning an American Highschool Girl, so I'm thinking we should be expecting a movie after harrypotter from her.
And Hahaa, I did not know Natalie POrtman even went to Harvard. for psychologly. I find that so cool.
I don't know if I'd watch every movie that the actors/actresses are in. I mean with Alan rickman, he's in so many mvoies, I doubt I'll want to watch them. but witht the younger cast, I'd want to. although, my friends often don't let me rent "Stupid" movies

I guess so... it wont be a case of
"WOW! Emma and Dan and Rupert are in this really boring looking film. lets watch it.."
I guess it will be kinda sad to see them in other things, i dunno why but it seems as if Emma isnt Emma she's Hermionie, and so on... i know that's wrong, cause she isnt just Hermionie she's a real good actress with a shed loada talent, as are the other two.
Ive kinda grown up around Harry potter, both the books and the movies, and though its sad there will be no more books, and after the films it will be kinda strange to see them doing something else... I dunno why... but it will be almost like Harry Potter is over, finished. I hope that wont happen, as something as good as this doesnt deserve to fizzle out...
So in answer to the question...
yeah i will watch something they are in if it looks good..
But i think in my mind they'll always be Harry, Hermionie and Ron...

If fate is my friend then I''ll definitely be pursuing the Phelp Twins.. I'd pay ridiculous amounts of money and gold just to see a movie starring them. Oh yes.....I know what your going to say, "The Phelp Twins, while comic relief to Harry Potter, are in no way going to star in their own movie" blah blah blah! I don't want to hear it. James and Oliver
WILL have a movie starring them and I
WILL go see it one day!

Well not all of them, and probably not to the extent that I do now, but I'm sure I'll still always jump at an artical about Dan or Rupert or Emma or Tom or any main character from the film in the paper and if a film with them in it comes out I will probably go and see it, but I proably won't collect icons and stuff the way I do now.
I'll always be interested in Dan, Rupert and Emma's careers a little but for the rest of them, like Gary Oldman and all of the older cast I won't really bother about them if I didn't bother about them before. Still if I see them in a film with them in it I'll always go ' Oh, he played Sirius' or ' Oh she played Mrs Weasley!' just like when I seen Billy Elliot the other day and I was like ' Oh there's Julie Walters, she's Mrs Weasley!'.

Of course I will, I love Dan, Emma, Rupert, and Tom too much not to. I can't wait to see December Boys, Ballet Shoes, and Driving Lessons. Now that they are getting older they are going to have many more opportunities to be in other movies. I am going to watch David Copperfield to see Dan when he was little! They are growing up so beautifully. Being only a little younger than they are, it is so interesting to be growing up along side of them. I can't wait until I am in my fifties and get to see them a lot older.

I was wondering about the actors once DH is done filming. I know that Dan will have more opportunities as will Emma and Rupert. However what about the rest of them? Will they just fade off into the "Where are they now: British Addition" world...or will they're careers have been elevated because of the HP series? Or will the most unfortunate thing happen, type-role casting (where they are stuck in the same type role for everything they do from now on)?
Just wondering your opinions.

I've wondered about this a lot too.
I don't have any doubts that Dan's career is only getting started. Rupert will struggle, only because I think he's easier to type cast than Dan. Emma...well, I'm not sure about her. Her career may go far, or it may go no where. I'm just not sure. I'm not a huge fan of her, and I don't want to make anyone mad, so I'll just leave it at that
As for the others. I think James and Oliver will have the hardest time. I want them to do well, because I love them, but it's going to be so hard for them to have seperate careers. We've only seen them together as the twins from Harry Potter. Whenever one goes off and does his own movie, it'll be hard for people to remember which one he is. It's the curse of being a twin I guess. I feel bad thinking that, but it's true.
Tom Felton, as far as I know, didn't want to take his career much further than Harry Potter. I think he said he'd rather go to school for fishing or something. If he wanted to further his acting career, he could. I don't think he'll have any problem. But, he unfortunately might get type cast as "the bad boy" a lot of the time.
Matthew Lewis (Neville) is another one I'm not sure about. His career could go up or down. It just depends on what risks he's willing to take.
That's the brilliant thing that Dan did. He took a huge risk and will keep taking them (responsibly, I believe) so that he stays away from type casting.
I'm not even going to go into the other actors. I'm not familiar enough with them, and I've of course only seen them in HP, so I won't have much more to say about them than what I've said about Matthew.

Okay, here goes. Dan won't have a hard time at all getting started at all. Rupert will definitely struggle in the beginning, but I think that eventually he will get going and become pretty big. Emma will be very easy to cast, because she has good looks, and could be perfect for almost any part.
Evanna Lynch (Luna), would be a hard one to cast, simply because of her high, mysterious voice, and her spacey looks. Bonnie Wright (Ginny) will probably do the same thing as Rupert, and eventually get going. Mat Lewis (Neville) will definitely make it big right off, but then start to fall.
Tom Felton, as Jezebel said, will probably not continue acting, but if he does, he will be type cast as the evil one.
That's about all I can think of.

I will have to disagree with everyone. After filming DH, the acting careers of all the children in the films will be over. They were type cast the minute they signed the contract for SS/PS or rather when their parents signed the contract for them.
If would be different if one of them were a great actor but their acting ability is not that great. Same thing happened with the original Star Wars series. Only Harrison Ford escaped the type casting due to his acting ability. I just do not see any of the children being that great at acting that they will have a future in the acting business.

Once the films are completed, and once I stop bawling because of that reason, I will keep track of the actors futures. I can picture Dan in another fantasy-type movie, Rupert in a comedy, and Emma in animated films. Well, that's just my opinion. I will follow all of the other actors (if possible!), especially Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood). She just rocks!

Nope. I'm not following their careers.
You see, I realized a long time ago that when you watch a movie and you fall in love with somebody in it, it's not the actor you're in love with... it's the character. Do I have a crush on Colin Firth? No, I have a crush on Fitzwilliam Darcy. Am I in love with James or Oliver Phelps? No, I'm in love with Fred and George.

(Since I'm here, I'll post. HJP/HJG_TrueLove, good girl, I didn't know these threads existed! Emma and Rupert's fan clubs?? Wow)
Well, I won't follow thier careers like an obsessed fan, because for instance I'm not a fan of any actor or actress as such. But HP made me know many British actors whose movies I really like, anyway. In regards to the trio, I watched December Boys and I cried, I watched Ballet Shoes and I liked it, and I watched Driving Lessons and fell in love with Ben. Those movies gave me a different view of the actors, and I think the three are good (well, Rupert is still better), so if the movie plot sounds gripping to me, I'll watch the movie, if not, I won't no matter who's starring it. I haven't watched any other movie of Dan, I haven't watched Tales of Desperaux because it's for kids, but I'd like to watch Cherrybomb if it does comes out because the plot attracts me and I know Rupert won't dissapoint me as an actor.
And in regards to the older actors, sometimes I find someone worked in that old movie, and I think "I've got to watch it" because I know I won't be dissapointed by their performances, such as "Too Much Ado About Nothing", "Sense and Sensibility", all the ones with Helena Bonham-Carter and so on.
