Torchwood Fan Fiction – Everlasting (Part one...??)
“What is it Jack?” Gwen asked as she entered his office.
“I want you,” he paused and pulled that stern and cold face that told anyone that was looking that the news was not a promotion or anything good for that matter. “Explain this!” he said with his anger rising as he slammed a few sheets of paper on the table.
Gwen was slightly cautious of Jack’s mood and so picked up the papers without meeting his eye.
She could not believe it. On the papers were CCTV images of Rys by the waterfall. There were several different shots and on one of them Rys was staring straight at the camera.
“I have no idea Jack.” Jack just stared at her. “No, really, I don’t.”
“Well whatever’s going on you just make sure you keep that boyfriend of yours in line. If I so much as see the back of his head near this hub then…”
“Then you’ll what? Retcon me?” There was an uncomfortable silence and another stare.
“Just go.” Jack dismissed her with yet another stare. Gwen left quickly shutting the door loudly behind her.
“Oh what was all that about then? Been naughty have we?”
“Just shut up Owen.” She sped passed him and grabbed her coat of the sofa.
“Going somewhere?” Owen said sarcastically.
“Home!” she shouted.

“Hello me lovely! I’ll just put the kettle on.” Rys was beaming… a contrast to his girlfriend Gwen who seemed to be wearing a look of deep thought. She collapsed on the sofa in a huff and took off her shoes. “Well do want a cuppa or not?” Rys got no answer. “Gwen, Gwen?”
“Oh. Ye, sorry.” Gwen was still thinking. Why would Rys have been by the waterfall?
“Alright then, it’ll be a few minutes.”
“Rhys was just there at the shops, it was nothing important.” Gwen thought.
“What was that love?” Rys asked.
“I didn’t say anything.”
“Yeah you did. It was something about ‘shops’ and ‘nothing important’.”
“Rys I didn’t say…” she paused as she turned and saw something. Rys had his back to her as he poured the kettle.
What the bloody hell is that? Gwen could not help but think aloud. She could see something hanging out of Rys’ pocket. There was a sudden moment of de ja vu as Gwen stared long hard at the red material in her boyfriend’s pocket.
“What was that Gwen?”
“Nothing.” She turned around sharply. Rys brought the tea over and set Gwen’s cup in front of her. “Thanks.” She muttered as she took a sip.
“So how was Torchwo…?”
“What?” Gwen asked abruptly.
“Work. How was work?” Rys was sweating madly and making no eye contact with Gwen.
“No you didn’t. You said this ‘T’ word.” Gwen lowered her eyes to the red material in Rys’ pocket. Where had she seen it before?
She took a sip of her tea and out of the corner of her eye she saw something glint in the light.
Too late.
Before she could figure out what it was, she felt a sharp pain in her arm. Her eyes began dropping and she could just make out the outline of a needle. Then she heard Rys laugh…before she blacked out.
***
“Owen could you phone Gwen for me? We have a job to do.”
“Alright boss.” Owen pretended to salute him and picked up his mobile. After he typed in the number, he waited and waited. He waited for an answer. Jack raised an eyebrow. “It’s still ringing.” Owen sighed. “No wait…Gwen? Yeah are you there Gwen?”
“Owen?” a voice gasped back.
“Gwen? Are you okay? Where are you?” Owen asked rapidly. He only heard gasps of breath for a reply. “Gwen?” The line went dead. “Gwen!” Owen screamed.
***
“I’m ever so sorry Gwen, but I don’t think so.”
“You?” Gwen screamed.
“Yes dear, me.”
Bilis was wearing his usual cravat and it was now that Gwen clicked on. The red material in Rys’ pocket had been the cravat. So if that had been Billis in her flat then where was Rys?
“Where’s Rys?” Gwen’s voice was shaking from sheer panic.
“Let’s not worry about that now shall we dear.” He said coldly. He smiled an evil smile and walked over to table.
“Where am I?” Gwen inquired as she drunk in her surroundings.
Cold slab floor and grey stone walls. There was little lighting and the only piece of furniture in the room was the table at which Bilis was now standing.
Bilis picked up a needle from the table.
“You are nowhere dear.” He walked over to her and jabbed the needle in her arm. It was only now that Gwen realised that she was tied up. She could not move a muscle and all she could feel was pain. Gwen could see that Bilis was not injecting anything into her… he was taking her blood.
“Now that didn’t hurt now did it?” He chuckled lightly and went back to the table. “Goodnight dear.”
Bilis disappeared and the little lighting that there was vanished too.
Gwen was alone in the dark. Her head was spinning. If anyone was with Gwen then they would have heard her shallow breathing. However, no one was with Gwen, she was alone.
Gwen could not hear anything, she could not see anything and suddenly see could not feel anything. Her head hit the slab floors and she was unconscious once more.

“Put her down on the table Owen.” Jack said sadly. Owen entered the autopsy room with Gwen cradled in his arms. Her body was limp and almost lifeless but she was breathing… just. Owen set her down on the table.
“What happened?” asked Tosh.
“Well we followed the signal that you got from her phone and found her at this warehouse.” Jack said slowly and thoughtfully.
“I know that Jack. I mean what happened to her?”
“I know what you meant Tosh. I just can’t answer.” He frowned.
“Hey, Jack. She’s coming round.” Owen said frantically.
“Bilis.” Gwen’s weak voice whispered.
“What?” Jack asked.
“Did Bilis do this?” Owen asked softly. The only answer he got was a soft nod.
“Rys. Where’s Rys?” Gwen whispered.
