do yall think slughorn is a metamorphagus because in HBP slughorn turned in to a chair when harry and DD arrived and could it be important in the seventh book

No, I think that he is just a clever wizard who knows how to transfigure himself into a chair. I think that it was mentioned in the books, when Tonks is introduced, that metamorphagi are rare.

Tonks said that one of the tests to be an auror was something to do with disguises. If no auror could turn into something, a chair in this case, then no one except metamorphaguses would be an auror and metamorphaguses are very rare as I recall.

I don't think he is either. He just knows how to transfigure himself. It's a possibility that he is, but I doubt it. I'm sure if he were a metamorphagus then we would have seen him disguising himself in a different way other than a chair.

well remember as early as sixth year they start human transfiguration...the eyeborw and stuff.so someone as old and experianced will certainly know how to transfigure himself.

I don't think that Slughorn is a metamorphagus. I mean if he was, I'm sure that he would have disguised as someone else or something else. But I'm sure that he's just really good at transfiguration if he turned into a chair. I mean metamorphagi are going to turn into something more interesting than a chair. And metamorphagi are rare.

as keith said, we know it is possible to do human transfiguration because harry was leaning to do it in HBP. and also because is very rare and to have two people in the book to be one would be very unlikely.

I dont think metamorphi can change into ANY given object. As someone else said, I just think he is a very clever wizard.

I see that all of you are saying no. But why not? Just curious. The overall response is that he's just a good wizard and can transfigure himself. If you had transfigured into a chair would you feel someone poking you or sitting on you? Thats what appeared to have happened to Slughorn if memory serves me right. What if he is indeed a metamorphmagus? (sp?).

no becasue if you are a metamorphmagus you change your appereance. No, what Slughorn did was Transfiguration.
