Chapter1 Typical Day

Lilly and her 2 best friends Natalie and Amanda were walking down the corridor to the grounds for break all the time talking and laughing. Natalie was Irish and was tall and slim like the other 2, had long light blond hair witch she always had in a side braid down to her waist, always wore her Irish step shoes, and had emerald eyes like Lilly. Lilly had fiery red hair witch she never pulled back and a temper to match though she was normally very sweet. Amanda had shoulder length brown hair that was the exact same shade as her eyes and like Lilly she never pulled it back.
“I love it when it’s Nat's turn to take notes” Lilly said
“Why!” said Natalie looking hurt.
“Because watching you trying to pay attention in binn’s class is hilarious” Lilly and Amanda giggled
When they reached the courtyard Lilly sat on a rock and Nat and Mandy sat on the ground next to her.
And suddenly Lilly had yelled “Put him down!!” to James Potter who was floating Severus Snape in mid air
“Tip” Natalie whispered to Amanda as Lilly stormed inside. I’ll talk to James you get Lilly”
It was a plan they had come up with at the beginning of their 5th year. Natalie walked up to James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter.
“What did I do wrong Nat?” James asked her.
Natalie laughed “What did you do wrong? What did you do right? Be nice and she’ll love you!” She turned around and walked away.
Nat was trying to calm down Lilly with Mandy’s occasional help “James says he’s sorry!” Nat said for the thousandth time.
“Oh don’t lie Nat!” said Lilly “This is James we’re talking about”.
“Come on girls we’ve got transfiguration next and Mcgonagal will be ticked if we’re late” Amanda said and with that they went to class!

That night the girls and their room mate Alice were staying up late.
"Ok Lily who do you like?" Alice asked her.
"Oh I don't know Aly," Lily said.
"James!" Amanda coughed.
"Oh shut up Mandy" Lilly said.
"Um... could we stop taking about boys?" Natalie said.
"Nat you're the hottest girl in school you don't have to talk about them!" Lily said.
"Whatever" Natalie said going down the stairs. When she reached the common room she met Sirius.

"Oh hi" she said a rose colored flush appearing on her pale cheeks.
"Hi" he said "You avoiding your friends too?"
"Well according to the girls I'm too hot to need to talk about boys!" she giggled.
" I agree," he said.
"On what" she said not daring to believe her ears.
"On that you're the hottest girl in school" he said.
"Well..." she started but then his lips touched hers.
After ages she pulled away "I have to go she said and smiling she ran up stairs and grinning, he followed her.

OMG guys I am sooo sorry! I haven't posted in sooo long! So here is chapter 3 it's not as long as I'd wanted it to be but here it is

Chapter 3

A week later the girls boarded the Hogwarts Express. The journey passed and Lily was last off the train she ran off past Sirius and Natalie kissing goodbye, past Remus and Amanda laughing, past James staring at her, and past Peter with his parents and hugged her dad

"How was your year?" he asked smiling at his daughter.
"Fine Dad," she said, "Hi Petunia did you decide to like me"
"Yea-no dad made me come,"
"Figures, so any thing new?"
"Your sister has had a marriage proposal," her dad said.
"Oh joy," Lily grumbled, "Trying on stupid frilly dresses that look like there made of poodles, lets go!" They all knew that Lily was far from a girly girl
"We're meeting mom at the store," Petunia said, "So we should go"
"Oh fine BYE NAT! BYE MANDY!" Lilly called to her friends

"Ok how about this one" Lilly said showing them a plain yet pretty dress.
"No!" her sister said at once
"Can't we go to DEB? They're cheap and the dresses aren't frilly!"
"I will not have my sister come to my wedding looking like she just stepped out of some small town mall!"
"You don't even want me at your wedding," Lilly said in the same angry tone she used with James.
"Girls, Girls, Girls!" Mr. Evans said, "Calm down!"
"Ok but I'm not going with any thing else here!" Lilly was being stubborn and she didn't really care.
"Just do something with your hair!" snapped Petunia.
"Lets go we are going out to eat since Lily's back and we'll just make it" Mrs. Evens said.

After dinner Lily walked into her bedroom she had long since out grown (pale pink walls and pale lime green border) sank on to her bed and was just about asleep when she heard a faint tapping on her window. She looked up, and she saw a beautiful snowy owl tapping on the glass. Lilly smiled and walked to the window and opened it. The owl hopped in with a letter from her friend in Natalie's neat cursive

Hey Lils when are you coming over Mandy's here she came home with me. So any way write and tell me when you can come so we can pick you up
Hugs! Nat

"Perfect" Lily whispered, "Now I don't have to help plan Petunia's wedding she walked out of her room to ask her mom.

Chapter 4

"It's up to your sister," Mrs. Evens said.
"She can go hand out with her freaky friends I don't care," Petunia said.
"All right if you're sure? Tell her parents when ev-," but Lilly was already out the door on her way to her room. She sat down on her bed and wrote

Hey Nat,
Mom says any time that is good for you is good for us so hope to see you very soon

She watched the owl fly out the window and towards the full moon. She glanced at her clock by her bed. It was midnight, and she decided to get some sleep.
The first thing Lilly heard when she woke up was Petunia shrieking. She jumped up pulled on jeans and a tee - shirt and ran down the steps.
"Nat?" Lilly asked as walked in to see her family staring at her friend.
"Hey you said any time!" said Natalie trying not to laugh.
Lilly giggled "Not literally!"
"Oh oops!" Natalie said this time not succeeding in hiding her laughter. "So are you packed?"
"Uh no I'll be right back!" Lilly said.
"Oh I'll help!" Natalie said following Lilly up the steps.
As Lilly opened her trunk Natalie said "Pack!" waving her wand.
"Nat are you crazy we're under age!" Lilly almost yelled.
"Lilly, Lilly, Lilly! Calm down today's my birth day remember!"
"Oh my god! I completely forgot!" Lilly said as they walked down the stairs into the living room.
"I noticed," Natalie said as she threw some floo powder into the fire place, stepped in, said "O'Brien residence!", and disappeared. Lilly followed with her trunk.
"Lilly are you Ok?" Lilly opened her eyes Natalie and Amanda were beside her.
"Oh I'm fine" Lilly said letting Amanda help her up "I fall over every time I use that stuff,"
"Yeah, I know," Natalie said putting Lilly's trunk on her bed.
"Let's go to the kitchen you must be hungry," Amanda said.
In the kitchen Natalie's mom handed Lilly a plate and a glass of orange juice Lilly took a sip.
"Oh girls I forgot to tell you my friends Mr. And Mrs. Potter are going to a party with your dad and I tonight and their son James and his friends are staying with you girls tonight!"
Lilly choked on the drink of orange juice she has just taken and Natalie patted her on the back "What!" she coughed.
"Cool," her friends said together.
"No it is not cool," Lilly said.
"Ugh Lilly just calm down,"
"Yeah and give him a chance,"
" No I wont I bet he's even worse now then he was last year!"
"Well let's have some fun before they're here! Nat let's go to your room!"Amanda said.
As soon as they walked in three owls tapped on the window Natalie walked over and opened the window and they flew in dropped their letters and flew out.
"Ooo the Hogwarts letters," Lilly said.

Lilly was interrupted by a squeal "Lilly you're head girl!"
"What," Lilly said she was paying too much attention to her letter to notice the shiny silver badge that had fallen into her lap when she had opened her letter.
"Cool, wonder who's head boy," Natalie said.
"Probably Remus, I wouldn't mind sharing the head dorm with him," Amanda glared at her, "I mean at least I can get along with him,"
"Oh, nice save," Amanda said, she and Remus had been dating since 4th year, but didn't snog in public, so half the school didn't know it.
"HEY GIRLS THE GUYS ARE HERE!" Natalies mom called up the stairs.
"Well we'd better go down," Amanda said.
"Yea wouldnt want to miss Remus!"
"Or Sirius!" Amanda said
"Hey girls!" the guys said.
"Hey guys!" the girls said. They stood there for a moment then Remus said, "So did you girls get your Hogwarts letters?"
"Yeah," Natalie said "And let me guess Remus is head boy and James is Quidditch captain!"
"Uh half right," James smiled.
"What?" Amanda asked.
"Don't ask me how but James managed to get head boy too," Sirius said.
"What!" Lilly yelled, "But I'm head girl!"
"Oh, this should be interesting," Amanda whispered to Remus he smiled "Oh yes"
"Yeah lets talk Quidditch!" Natalie suggested
James looked away from Lilly and said, "Well it's still light and we can play a game out side,"
"Fine, I'll keep," Amanda said.
"You know Mandy you should try out for the team!" Sirius said. He and Natalie were getting frustrated Amanda had saved every thing they tried.
On the way in James said "Lilly can I talk to you for a minute,"
"A second," She said.
"Fine, I call truce"
"What?"
"I call a truce,"
"Why?"
"Because we obviously aren't getting along and this will be a very long year if we don't,"
"Ok," and before she knew what she was doing she hugged him.

Ok chapter 5

The girls spent the rest of the summer talking, laughing, and teasing each other, but Lilly couldn't quite forget the warm feeling she had felt in James's arms. Then the girls went to diagonally and as they stepped on to the smooth stone ground of the alley Natalie screamed "JESS".
"Who?" Lilly asked.
"My cousin," Natalie explained as they walked to a girl sitting under a pink umbrella at an ice cream parlor.
"Hey Nat, Mandy," the girl said. They stood there for a moment.
"Ok," the girl said to Lilly "Our friends obviously aren’t going to introduce us so I'm Jessica but you have to call me Jess,"
"I'm Lilly," Lilly said.
"Here let me buy you girls some ice cream," Jessica said. Lilly, Natalie, and Amanda sat down.
"Are you two related," Lilly asked Natalie and Jessica.
"Yep," Jessica said.
"So your pureblood too I guess,"
"You say that like it's a bad thing I could care less if I was half, muggleborn, or pure,"
"And you're all related,” Lilly asked.
"Yes you see, Nat and I are cousins, but Mandy and I are I think 3rd cousins and James and I are something like 2nd once removed and I can't even remember what Remus, Sirius, and Peter are," Jessica concluded.
"Speaking of the boys," Amanda said
"Oh no," Lilly said.

But no one heard her because Jessica had just yelled "James, Sirius, Remus!" she hugged each of them.
"Whoa! Jess we haven't seen you since we were 3!" Sirius said
"Yeah," said James, "Where’ve you been?"
"France," Jessica said, "Bouxbatons, but mum wants me to come to Hogwarts this year,"
"Sweet," Amanda said,” What house do you think you'll be in?"
"No clue. Not Ravenclaw because I'm not of wit and measure and
not Slytherin because I'm a blood traitor, so I guess it’s between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor," Jess finished.
"Still play Quidditch?" James asked her Lilly groaned and muttered something that sounded like "boys"
"Yeah, but Bouxbatons doesn't have a team so it's been ages,"
"Oh, that sucks," Sirius said.
"Yeah and I can so beat you and when whatever the house I get into plays Slytherin we'll win!"
"I'm not in Slytherin," Sirius said
Jessica screamed with laughter "A Black not in Slytherin, nice try!"
"He's telling the truth," James said.
"I'd hate to be you when your mum found out,"
"Yeah she was a nightmare not that she isn't always,"
"Ok, should we find a different subject to chat about?" Remus said
"Good idea but don't look at me I'm drawing a blank," Amanda said.
"Y’all got your books yet?" Jess asked.
"No we just walked in," Lilly said.
"Oh well see you on the train tomorrow," Jess left. Natalie then glanced from Lilly to James an evil look on her face then she glanced at Remus, Sirius, and Amanda.

"NO," Amanda mouthed,” I will not,"
Natalie pouted "Oh fine," Sirius mouthed.
"No!" Amanda mouthed.
"Please." Natalie mouthed Amanda sighed and nodded and nudged Remus in the ribs he sighed and said, "Hey Mandy lets take a walk,"
"Yeah that would be great!" Amanda said.
"Uh hey Sirius I'm going to the joke shop way over there want to come with?" Natalie asked
"Yeah," Sirius said Lilly groaned and moved over to the seat farthest from James.
"So this is awkward," James said
"Yeah um...Potter I have got to go."
"James call me James please," James asked.
"Fine, and you can call me Lilly," Lilly said.
"And I think that’s all our friends can hope to happen while we're alone lets call them back?" James said
"Yeah how are you going to do that?" Lilly asked.
"Watch" and James pulled out a small mirror and tapped it with his wand.
"Your of age too then," Lilly said.
"Yep," he said.
"James what is it?" a familiar voice said.
"Is that Sirius?" Lilly asked.
"Yes Lilly," Sirius said from the mirror
"Anyway Sirius you can come back now,"
"But James don't you want to stay alone with Lilly?" Natalie said her face appearing in the mirror.
"Um... Nat I'm right here," Lilly said.
"Fine we're coming," Sirius said.
"Hey guys," Amanda said.
"Mandy where were you?" Lilly asked.
"We got everyone's books so you don't actually have to go to the book store," Remus said.
"Thanks" Lilly said.

"Uh hi guys," Natalie said, "we're here too."
"Hi Natalie," everyone said.
"Hi," Natalie said.
"Anyway lets go we've got our books let's go," Sirius said.
"Yeah let's go," Lilly said they all stood up "You are evil," she whispered to her friends.
"That's me!" Natalie said smiling.
"See ya," Amanda called back.

"Ya know!" Lilly said flopping down on her bed, "James actually acted like a normal person today,"
"Really? Maybe you like him," Natalie said.
"No chance," Lilly lied
"Lils you were always a bad liar you like him," Amanda said.
"No I don't!" Lilly snapped and her friends knew it was no use to disagree.

"WAKE UP GIRLS!" Natalies mom called up the stairs.
"Ugh... I'm tired," Natalie whined she opened her eyes to see Lilly and Amanda already dressed "How do you do that?"
"Like this!" Amanda said and she and Lilly pulled Natalie up.
"Ok ok I can dress myself," Natalie said.

Chapter 6

The girls got to the station with 5 minutes to spare. Natalie ran through the barrier first followed by Amanda and then Lilly, on the train Lilly went to the prefects’ carriage. When she got there she could tell James was going to say something so she beat him to it "James! I feel like shouting at someone so unless you want it to be you you'll shut up!" Lilly said as calmly as she could.
"Darling, what’s wrong?" James asked.
"Since when am I your darling," Lilly asked coolly.
"Umm we are in the right place? Right?" a Hufflepuff girl asked.

Lilly and James looked around and saw all the prefects sitting near them.
"Oh hi everyone," Lilly said "So you're all the prefects, ok here take these," she handed each one a piece of paper with their house password on it, "Parole the corridors from time to time and remember no docking points that’s only teachers,"
"And tell everyone everyone the password," James added.
"Yes, now shoo," Lilly said and was about to walk out after them when James said "Lilly?"
"WHAT!" Lilly screeched.
"There's an owl at the window," James said.
"Oh sorry," Lilly said walking over to the window and opening it.

The owl hopped in and held out his leg. James took the letter and handed it to Lilly who read it aloud,
"Dear Mr. Potter and Miss Evens,
As you are both in Gryffindor their will be no need for Head dorms so as long as you follow the rules we'll be able to find you in case of emergency,"

"Damn," James said.
"What are you so sad about this is good, we can barley get along when I’m in a good mood?" Lilly said leaving the carriage to go find her friends.


By the time she found Natalie and Amanda in a compartment in the back of the train the journey was almost over. "Hi," Natalie said brightly when Lilly walked in, "What are you so happy about?"
"James and I don't have to share a dorm."
"Oh," Amanda said. She didn't look too happy.
"Why is everyone so sad about this?" Lilly asked starting to change into her robes. Then there was a knock on the compartment door.
"What," said Natalie through a yawn.
"Well we were just wondering," a girl with heavy lidded eyes said, "how a mudblood got to be head girl,"
"Because Bellatrix," Amanda said testily "She can beat you in every fight,"
"Oh really," the boy called Severs Snape said.
"Really Snivellus, but I'm tired and its agents my morals to attack someone for fun," Lilly said.
"Fine," a slim girl with long blonde hair said "We'll attack first,"

Then a boy with blonde hair said "Sect-" but he never finished because Lilly had stood up and shouted 'Stupefy!" and at the same time Natalie and Amanda had shouted it too. All but the blonde girl fell to the floor stunned "Narcissa," Natalie said "Walk away," Narcissa gave Lilly one last dirty look and walked away.
"Bye!" Amanda said then the three of them looked at each other and burst out laughing.
"What is it?" A voice said the compartment door had slid open again but this time Jessica and another girl were standing there.
"Hi Jess," Natalie said.
"Hi guys," Jessica said "Lilly this is my sister Tessa."
"It's Tess," she said shaking Lilly’s hand.
"Hi," Lilly said as the train stopped.
"Let's go," Amanda said and laughing the girls walked off the train.
In the carriage on the way up to the castle Lilly asked Tessa "So Tess why didn't I meet you yesterday,"
"I got in a fight and when I came home mom took me to the hospital,"
Tess said
"Is that typical you," Natalie asked
"Yep!" Tessa said cheerily.
"You don't seem the rough type," Amanda said.
"Don't judge a book by its cover," Tessa said grinning.

The carriages stopped the five girls got out of the carriage and joined the crowd going into the castle.

"Nat! Is that you!" a Spanish girl with light brown curls called and walked over to them.
"Chicky!" Natalie said hugging her.
"Hi Chickadee," Lilly said.
"Lilly," She said, "You know you can call me Chicky,"
"Hey Chicky!" Amanda said.
"Hi Mandy," Chickadee said.
"Umm... we might want to move," Lilly said, "We're blocking the door,"
"Oh right," Natalie said.
"See ya tonight!" Chickadee said.

In the great hall Lilly, Natalie, Amanda, Tessa, and Jessica sat together and ate dinner. When the golden plates cleared themselves Dumbledore stood up and said

"Welcome everyone old and new."
"Are you calling me old?" Chickadee said to him and the hall rang with laughter.

Chuckling Dumbledore said "No Miss Sanchez I am not calling you old. Anyway we have one new staff appointment; Madam Bennet will be teaching defense agents the dark arts." Some applause followed that statement, but because Madam Bennet looked like she was unlikely to be much fun, it ended quickly. "Also please note that the forest on the grounds is out of bounds to ALL!" He spoke the last word loudly and looked right at Sirius and James. "Next anyone who wishes to try out for their house Quidditch team please contact your house Quidditch caption, but not now, now it is late and you all need to get to bed," Everyone made their way to the dormitories.

In the common room no one went right to bed that night they all stayed in the common room for a while. Lilly and Natalie sat in chairs, Amanda sat on the arm of Remus' chair and Jessica and Tessa sat on the floor. On the other side of the common room. Chickadee fell onto the couch "Move," Sirius said coming up to her.
"Make me!" She said rudely.
Sirius and Chickadee started yelling at each other and right when Sirius gasped in pain (Chickadee had levitated her shoe so the spiky heel jammed it's self into his toe) Lilly went to bed.

Ok chapter 7

Chapter 7

The next day Lilly woke up and looked around, on her left, she saw Amanda's neatly made bed, on her right she saw Natalie’s messy one.
"Hi!" Jessica said from across the room. Lilly didn't reply she had just realized that Jessica was new and she wondered if Jessica had even be sorted.

"Jess, what house are you and Tess in?"
"Gryffindor Duh!"
"Wha-,"
"Tess and I got sorted on the train," Jessica said.
"Oh," Lilly said standing up and pulling on her robes.
"Come on let's go to breakfast, that's where everyone else is," Jessica said, and talking the two girls walked together out of the dorm.

At the table, Jessica sat next to Amanda and Remus, which meant the only seat left, was next to Tessa and James. Lilly scooted closer to Tessa.
"Lilly you can scoot closer to me but you're still next to James," Tessa said.

Tessa, Jessica, Amanda, and Natalie laughed. Lilly blushed redder then her hair.

"I'm going for a walk before class," said Lilly
"I'll go too," Natalie said getting up at the same time as Lilly.

On the grounds Lilly sat by the lake and took a bite of toast.

"What’s up Lils,” Natalie asked.
"Just thinking."
"About...?"
"Nothing,"
"Come on Lils you know you can trust me," Natalie said sitting down next to her friend.
"Ok, I'm thinking about..." Lilly started but just then the bell rang and all Lilly said was "Oh!" and ran into the castle, and cursing Natalie followed her.

"Miss Evans I would have expected the head girl and her friend to be on time for class! One detention each" Madam Bennet said when Lilly and Natalie walked in.

"Sorry," Lilly muttered staring at the floor.
"Madam Bennet it's not Lilly's fault. I convinced her to come out on the grounds with me," Natalie lied.
"Well then you can take both detentions then," Madam Bennet said.
"Yes Ma'am," Natalie said quietly.
"Good, now sit please. The both of you," she said.

Lilly and Natalie both walked to a table in the back of the room and took out their books, "Now," said Madam Bennet "I will be needing a summery of what you have done so far this year," Lilly raised her hand "Yes," Madam Bennet said pointing at Lilly.

"We've learned disarming and stunning and the impediment jinx and the redactor curse and how to repel boggarts and how to identify dark creatures and well, that's it," Lilly finished.
"Good," Madam Bennet said.

"Thanks," Lilly said to Natalie on the way to potions.
"No problem," Natalie said.
"Are you sure, because I can go back and tell her that I'll take the detention."
"Lilly, it's just a detention to me. Not the end of the world,"
"Yes love, good attitude," Sirius said putting his arm around her.
"Ok," Lilly said walking into the dungeon and sitting in the front row.
"Yeah right," Tessa said she and Natalie grabbed Lilly arms and Jessica gabbed Amanda's and walked to the back row.
"Settle down class," Professor Slughorn said and turned around to write the ingredients on the black board.
"Pssssst! Nat!" James whispered from across the center aisle. Natalie checked that Slughorn was still busy then she quietly slid off the bench, crouched down, and silently walked over to James.
"What?" she whispered.
"Here, he said and handed her a folded piece of parchment. She took it between her index and middle fingers, walked back to her seat, and opened it.

Hey Nat what do you think about next weekend for quidditch tryouts?

"Miss O’Brien would you like to share something with the class?" Slughorn asked.
"No Sir," Natalie said.
"Good," he said and turned around again. Natalie turned the piece of parchment over and wrote

Fine, I'll get Chicky at break

"Chickadee is not a member of the team but she knows everyone and she commentates," Natalie whispered to Tessa who was reading over her shoulder.
"Ahhhhh," she said.

"Ughhhhhh potions was sooooo hard today wasn't it?" Tessa asked.
"Unless it's like this all the time?" Jessica asked.
"What are you talking about?" Lilly asked, "It's always easy,”
"You'll have to excuse Lilly she's a total potions nerd," Sirius said.
"Shut-up!" Lilly said.
"Sirius Black stop rite there!" a girl yelled from down the hall.
"Who is it?" he asked.
"Nikki," Natalie said, "I expected her to get revenge long before this,"
"Umm yeah," Sirius said.
"What?" Natalie asked.
"Love," he said looking suddenly kind of worried.
"Yeah,"
"I haven't broken up with her yet," he mumbled.
"WHAT!" Lilly, Tessa, Amanda, and Jessica yelled.
"Shhhhhhh!!" Natalie said turning to Sirius and whispering "Sirius why not?"
Sirius saw the hurt in her eyes and grabbed her hand, "Love! I'm sorry I just didn't know how to without hurting her,"
"There's no way to do that Sirius," Natalie said.
"I know," he said and leaned down two inches to kiss her. Their lips were three inches apart when…

Chapter 8

Their lips were three inches apart when...

"Whoa hold up!" Natalie said, "What makes you think I still want to kiss you?"
"Ummm?" Sirius said.
"Shut-up," said Natalie and she and Nikki stomped away.
"Did she just break-up with me?" Sirius asked Lilly, Jessica, Tessa, and Amanda.
"Sirius, are you really that stupid?" Lilly asked.
"I....Well,"
"Never-mind don't answer that I'm afraid of what I might hear," Lilly said quickly.
"Let's go we'll be late for Charms," Jessica said and she, Lilly, Amanda, and her sister walked away (Lilly glaring at Sirius as she went)

At dinner time Professor Slughorn waddled up to the girls.
"Ahhhhh Miss Evens and Miss Smith how'd you like a spot of dinner in my office tonight?" he asked "I'm having Jane Butternut from Hufflepuff and Lucius Malfoy and Christopher Knott from Slytherin and Alexa Gold from Rawenclaw. So what do you say?"

"Oh," Lilly said "Well, we should ask our friends first,"
"Yeah, ummmm," Amanda said "Jess, Tess wasn't I going to show you two something at dinner time."
"No?" Jessica said
"Yes I was," Amanda said gritting her teeth "Remember!"
"Oh yeah," Tessa said thinking quickly "You were going to show me.... uh something....let's go!"
"Well Miss Evens why don't you come," Slughorn said.
"Yes well I was uh....James!"
"What!" said James who was passing them in the great hall.
"I'm helping you with your Potions homework right?" Lilly said
James looked at Lilly then Amanda then Slughorn and understood "Yes," he said "yes you were,"
"Oh well maybe next time eh," Slughorn said and waddled away.
"Is he gone?” Amanda asked.
"Yes," James said
"Oh thank God," Amanda said "I've had it up to here with the stupid 'Slug club',"
"I expect Malfoy and Knott like it," James said
"Duh," Lilly said "but I really will help you with your Potions if you want me to,"
"Um....O.k."
"We should go," Amanda said. "If someone tells Slughorn went to dinner we won’t be able to get out of anything else,"
"True let’s go to the common room," Lilly said.
James pouted "I'm hungry!"
"Oh shut-up you'll live!" Lilly snapped and the five of them ran to
Gryffindor tower.
A few hours later James and Lilly could be found in a deserted classroom. Lilly lying half asleep on her back on the teacher’s desk in the front of the classroom. James was sitting in a desk in the front row surrounded with crumpled up pieces of parchment, empty ink bottles and pages of the text book which he had ripped out in frustration.
"Done!" James said.
"How is it Lilly....,"
"Here," Lilly said "You need to rewrite this part and..." The door banged open Sirius and Natalie fell in glued together at the mouth
"Wait!" James said "Didn't you 2 break up?"
"Oh please James didn't you realize that they couldn't stay apart for longer than an hour," Lily replied
"Oh shut-up Lilly," Natalie said.
"Come on Love I'm sure they want to be alone," Sirius added.
"Shut-up Sirius," Lilly said as they left.
"So what do I have to do to me essay?" James asked.
"I hate him," Lilly said
"Lilly! My essay!" James said.
"Oh sorry," Lilly said "Just leave out the bad sentences and that’s at least an Exceeds expectations,"
"That's the best potions grade I've ever had!" James replied.
"Really?" Lily questioned him.
"Yup, we'd better go we don't want anyone to find the head girl and boy in a classroom at midnight," James said
Lilly giggled and waved her wand all the trash flew into the trashcan.
James opened the classroom door and held out his hand, Lilly hesitated then took it and together they walked to Gryffindor tower.

Chapter 9

Lilly woke-up the next morning with a smile on her face "What are you so happy about?" asked Natalie who was already dressed and was staring at her reflection brushing her hair.
"I don't know,"
"Oh please you were with James last night," Natalie said, she finished her hair and started her make-up.
"I was with James last night? Oh God I was with James," Lilly shrieked.
"Lilly calm down!" Natalie said
"I hate James!" Lilly said pulling off her pajamas and putting on her uniform, "why did I even offer to help him with his potions home work, I knew it would mean hours alone with him, and then I held his hand! Oh NO!"
"Lilly shut-up," Natalie said putting her hands on Lilly's shoulders.
"Well I'll just have to make sure it doesn't happen again," Lilly said.
"I guess, but you won’t be able to stay away," Natalie put on some 4'' black heels.
"Shut-up Nat!" Lilly said running a comb through her hair and slipping on some old black flats.
"Where is everyone else?" Lilly asked.
"Oh didn't I tell you?" Natalie said "They're all in class,"
"Why didn't any wake me?" said Lilly panicking.
"Lilly calm down," Natalie said.
"Calm down Nat I don't skip class!"
"You're not skipping you're just not taking Ancient Runes,"
"You could've told me that before you nearly gave me a heart attack!" Lilly said falling onto her bed "and why didn't anyone wake me up for breakfast!"
"You don't normally stay up late for dates so we wanted to let you sleep in,"
"It was not a date!" Lilly sat up.
"What ever you say," Natalie said "come on let's go down to the common room,"
"I haven't made my bed yet!" Lilly said.
"You actually make your bed?" Natalie asked.
"Yeah,"
"What-ever," Natalie said "I'm going down to the common room come down soon!"

In the common room someone called "Nat!" she looked over and saw James.
"Yeah," she said sitting on the arm of his chair.
"Did you talk to Chickadee?"
"Yep,"
"....And what did she say,"
"It's fine,"
"Good let's put a sign up on the notice board," James said.
At that moment Lilly walked down to the common room and saw Natalie on the arm of James' chair and felt jealous. Natalie was Sirius' girlfriend not James' but then wait why should she feel jealous she didn't like James did she? "No!" she said out loud making a group if first years jump.
Just then Natalie stood up and pinned something on the notice board that read

GRYFFENDOR QUIDDITCH
TRYOUTS
NEXT SATURDAY MORNING
AT 1O:OO


So that was why she had been sitting with him, they had been talking about quidditch that was all Lilly had gotten her-self all worked up over nothing.
The bell rang. Lilly and a few other seventh years including Natalie and James walked to their next lesson Charms.
The day passed quickly and Lilly and her friends walked into dinner that night cheerful but dreading the homework they had to do.
“Natalie could you read over my charms home work?” Lilly asked that night Charms wasn’t her strong point and Natalie could write a charms essay in her sleep.
“Sure,” Natalie said and held out her hand. The girls were all doing their home work together in a circle in the middle of the common room floor. Lilly yawned and said “Well I’m tired just put my essay in my bag when you’re done,”
Lilly expected to sleep soundly that night and she did but all her dreams seemed to include James in some way and somehow that didn’t bother her in the slightest

Chapter 10

Lilly woke-up smiling again but this time she knew why and wiped it off her face but not before Natalie, Amanda, Tessa, Jessica, and even Alice had seen it.

"What is it," Alice asked.
"Lilly's in love," Natalie said
"No I'm not," Lilly said but she knew she was lying.
"Lilly don't lie you're really bad at it," Amanda said.
Lilly buried her head in her blankets "Oh god don't start I already feel like crud,"
"Come on Lilly its Saturday cheer up!" Tessa said.
Lilly ignored her and said "I don't want to get up today," Lilly said
"Lilly you can't stay in bed all day," Jessica said.
"Watch me," Lilly said.
"Come on Lilly," Alice said but Lilly was already asleep.
"She'll feel better by tomorrow," Natalie said confidentially.

She was wrong. Lilly's bad mood continued all week. On the next Saturday Lilly's friends convinced her to go watch Quidditch tryouts in the hope that it would cheer her up. When the got there Lilly pulled out a book and started reading.

"What did you bring that for," Alice asked
"Reading," Lilly said
"Lilly this is Quidditch tryouts," Amanda said
"What-ever," Lilly said and put away her book.

Down on the Quidditch pitch Natalie stood holding her broom that had the words Silver Arrow in tiny silver letters on the mahogany handle, her hair was pulled back in a tight pony tail wearing red short shorts and a gold tee-shirt, she was chatting animatedly with Jessica and Tessa who were also holding Silver Arrows and wearing blue shorts and tee-shirts. Sirius and James walked over to them and James said "You guys ready Chickadee's here and she'll start any minute,"

Just then from the commentator’s booth Chickadees voice rang out

"¡Hola! ¡Y bienvenido a las pruebas de audición de Gryffendor Quidditch nosotros tenemos actualmente las posiciones abiertas para el Guarda dos Batidores y una Bebida!"

"Huh?" Tessa said.
"Chickadee speak English!" Natalie yelled up to her.
"Oh sorry! I said Hello! And welcome to Gryffindor Quidditch tryouts we currently have open positions for Keeper two Beaters and one Chaser!" she said to the crowd of Gryffindor that had accumulated on the field
"Ok," James shouted and the crowd turned to face him instead "I think we should start with beaters so please split into groups of two and you will be playing angst me and my two Chasers and the best pair will become the new Beaters ok let's go,"
"James," Natalie hissed in his ear "I didn't agree to this what if I get hurt and can't play in the first match and if I can't play in the match I can't kick Lucius Malfoy's butt,"
"Calm down Nat you can beat him up any time you want you have my permission,"
"I know but it's more fun in front of the whole school,"
"Well don't get hurt," James said and walked away before she could respond

Not surprisingly Jessica and Tessa were the best pair James thought it was because they were twins and could read each other’s minds. Next he decided to choose the chaser he decided on a sixth year called Michael but he still needed a lot of work. Finally he called for keepers.

"Nat, they stink I haven’t seen a good one yet and we’re more than half way through," He whispered in her ear “go persuade Mandy to try out please,"
"You know she won’t budge," She hissed back
"Please, do what you have to do just make sure she's down here before we're done!"
"Ok, whatever but you owe me,"
“You’re not doing it for me you’re doing it for the team,”
She stuck out her tongue at him “You’re a pain,” she said and walked away

Up in the stands Natalie said "Manda, James is begging you to try out for the team,"
"Tell him to save his breath I'm not moving,"
"Listen," Natalie said "James isn't going to give up and you will be saving me allot of trips up and down the stairs if you just say yes, even though i could use the exercise,"
"Well I guess you're going to get you're exercise because I’m not moving,"
Natalie sighed and walked down the row to where Remus was sitting "Remus dear," She said in her sweetest voice "I..."
"You want me to get Mandy to try out for Quidditch," he said
"Yes please!" She said nodding feverishly
"Tell James it's handled," He said standing up and going over to his girlfriend
"Natalie breathed a breath of relief and then she ran down to the field.

After the try outs Lilly, Natalie, Amanda, Jessica, and Tessa were in their dormitory. Lilly was at the small desk doing homework, Amanda was reading, Natalie was sitting on her bed writing in a diary, and Jessica and Tessa were sitting on their beds talking to Natalie.
"So congrats you made the team," Natalie said smiling
"Thanks," they said in unison
"C'mon Manda you made the team too,"
"I was forced to try out angst my will," She said not looking up from her book.
"If I were you I'd of just played badly then you wouldn't have been picked for the team!" Lilly said between assignments.
"James would have picked her any way he knows she can play better than anyone at Hogwarts.
"True," Amanda said
"What's the incantation for the Water creating charm I can't remember it,"
"Aguamenti," Natalie said going back to her journal.
"Thanks!" Lilly said.
Ten seconds later Tessa said "I'm bored,"
"Yeah," Natalie said "Me too,"
"What's James like as a caption?" Lilly questioned as she put away her work.
"Why do you want to know?" Amanda asked
"I just want to know,"
"He's amazing and I’d date him if i wasn’t with Sirius," Natalie said sarcastically
"Be serious," Lilly said
"It's true,"
"But..." Lilly said "you, you're with Sirius,"
"God take a joke," Natalie said
"Face it Lilly you just don't like the idea of someone else with James," Tessa said.
"Ok fine," Lilly said "I have a little school girl crush on James nothing more and if you ever tell James you're dead," she said looking right at Natalie

Omg we're on chapter 11 i can't believe it

Chapter 11

"OMG!" What are Jess and Tess doing," Lilly asked Natalie
"Lilly please, please, please stop it," Natalie said rubbing her eyes "they can sit next to James if they want to,"
"But what if they tell?" Lilly had kept them up all night demanding to know where they were going if they even moved a mussel, eventually being forced to tell Alice when she asked what was up. In Natalie's mind one more person knowing the secret had done nothing but worsen Lilly's nerves.
"Lils I've known Jess and Tess for years They might be a bit annoying at times but they won’t blab you're secrets to anyone,"
"But how do you know," Lilly asked franticly "But even if they don't I'll bet Mandy will, where is she?"
"You don't honestly think Manda's going to tell do you?"
"Yes!"
Natalie gave Lilly the 'Oh-my-god-you-must-be-kidding' look before saying in a voice as calm as she could make it "Lilly I know you don't want James to know but you really need to relax,"
"I can't,"
Natalie decided to change the subject "What do we have first?"
"Potions," Lilly said
"Ugh," Was all Natalie had to say for the rest of breakfast.

At break Natalie, Amanda, Jessica, Tessa, and Alice sat in the court yard and tried to sleep "Guys you can’t go to sleep who knows what might come spilling out of your mouth!"
"Lilly Just shut it," Tessa said "You're the one who kept us up all night,"
"But..."Just then Sirius came over
"Natalie...Natalie, wake up Love," He said shaking his girlfriends shoulder
"Wha...huh?" She said
"What’s up you're sleeping and we haven’t even had History of magic yet,"
"Well," Natalie said, Lilly gave her a pleading look "I just didn't get enough sleep last night,"
"I guess they didn't get enough either," he said gesturing at Amanda, Jessica, Tessa, and Alice whose boyfriend Frank was attempting to wake up
"Um...," Natalie said blankly "Yeah I guess not,"
"Normally I would ask what was up but I'm not too sure I want to know,"
"Thank you, you just saved me allot of trouble," Natalie said laying her head on his chest
"So Lilly," Sirius said over Natalie' head "How is your day going?"
"Tiring," She said
"I'm sure it will get better," He said giving her a smile, and without knowing why Lilly smiled back. The bell rang; they all jumped and ran to their next class which was Charms.
During class Professor Flitwick noted how Natalie who normally was his best student had fallen asleep and Lilly, who was not one of his best students but he had heard Slughorn and some of the other teachers rave about her, was shaking her friend trying to wake her.
"Thank God!" Amanda said at dinner time "The day's over,"
"We don't have any homework do we?” asked Alice who was sitting with them.
"Well," Lilly said pulling a notebook out of her pocket "Let’s see we have
1. That essay on the correct composition of 'veritaserum' but that’s so easy
2. We have to practice conjuring spells for McGonagall that’s not too bad...I guess
3. Charms...Charms let’s see...oh yes an essay on Cheering charms oh whatever we learned that in third year
4. Herbology we have...
"Lilly," Alice said with an ignorant smile "I'm sorry if this sounds mean but all I really wanted to know was a yes or no answer and I'll take that as a yes, we do have homework,"
"Wha...," Lilly said
"Sorry," Alice said shrugging
"Come on girls the sooner we get up there the sooner we go to bed," Amanda said standing up

"Finished," Natalie breathed putting down her quill
"But have you practiced conjuring spells yet,"
"I don't need to practice that **** I already know it and even if I didn't I'm still going to bed,"
"I'm going too," Amanda said
"Me too," Said Jessica
"Wait for me," Tessa said
"Guys," Alice said running up after them.
Lilly let out a long sigh, slowly stood up and walked to the stairs that led to the dormitory

Natalie hasn't told....yet!

Chapter 12

The next day Natalie was walking the steps to the common room slightly late for breakfast. As she quickly ascended the last stone step she ran smack into Sirius and James
"What do you want?" she asked in a slightly rude voice.

Before, Natalie had just been tired but now her tiredness had evaporated into a Very bad mood

"What kind of hello is that?" Sirius asked giving his girlfriend a hug
"Sorry let me try again," she said sarcastically” 'To what do I owe this great pleasure' how's that?"
"Too formal," James said "A simple 'hello' would work,"
"Ok fine," Natalie Sighed "Hello, now this better be quick if Lilly knew I was talking to you she'd have my neck,"
"Ok then: whyisLillysoparanoidaboutyoutalkingtous?" James said so fast that Natalie didn't understand.
"Spare me the stupid jokes and tell me what you want," Natalie said
"You're no fun," James pouted, Natalie stuck her tongue out at him
"We want to know why Lilly is so determined to keep you and you're friends under her nose?"
"She has a secret," Natalie said before she could stop herself.
"About us?" Sirius said raising his eyebrow
"About James," She said softly looking at her hands
"What is it?" They said in unison
"I can't!" Natalie looked so stressed that James felt a little bad, but not enough to stop asking questions

Sirius stroked Natalie's long hair to calm her down

"Okay I'll tell Sirius but Lilly told me specifically not to tell you James,"

She put her lips to Sirius' ear and Whispered "Lilly admitted that...that," She sighed "That she has a crush on James,"
"No really," He asked Natalie nodded "We should tell James,"
"Tell me what?"
"Sirius will tell you I'm not allowed to and I need something to eat before I'm ready to 'face the day' “She pulled her hair back in a pony tail that reached her hips and ran out of the portrait hole.

"Where were you?" Lilly asked

Natalie didn't look at Lilly because she knew her face would betray her guilt

"I just overslept," Natalie said becoming very interested in the maple syrup

Just then James and Sirius walked up behind Lilly "Hi Girls," James said
"Oh ****," Natalie said
"Nice to see you too Love," Sirius said
"So Lilly how it is going," James asked
"James," Natalie said standing up "Can I talk to you for a minute?"

Natalie grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the hall.
"What the hell do you think you're doing, James you're starting to be obnoxious again not to mention the fact that if Lilly finds out you know she'll kill me!"
"Ok, ok, ok," James said "I get the point, let's go," He said and walked back into the hall
"You evil ****," Lilly whispered to Natalie when she sat down "You told,"
"No I didn't, wait did Sirius tell you this?"
"So you admit you told,"
"No...Well...yes," Natalie said figuring it would be better to get the worst over with quickly
"Caitlin Natalie O'Brien I can't believe you!!" Lilly said standing up and running away.
"Oh my God she's mad at you she called you by your full name," Amanda said
"I didn't even know she knew my full name to tell you the truth," Natalie said going over to Sirius and slapping him "I can't believe you told her!"
She said
"I didn't I swear but you'll make up by tomorrow,"

Unfortunately Lilly and Natalie were still fighting the week before Christmas.

Ok I promised you a few things like a side of Natalie and Lilly, well I didn't get to develop that scene enough because this chapter is seven pages not too long, but waaay too much for my Crappy computer to handle so although you will still love this chapter, I hope, it's not what I had planned to give you.

The rest of November passed very slowly for Natalie and Lilly after their 'disagreement' of earlier that month.

It was the first week of December, Natalie, who coming from Quidditch practice, walked slowly into the common room clutching her side where Tessa had, with perfect aim, had sent a bludger. Natalie stumbled into a chair by the fire; she rubbed her eyes and looked up to see James, Sirius, Amanda, Jessica, and Tessa walking through the portrait hole.

"Hey, wait for us much!" called Jessica
"Sorry about the bludger," Tessa said
"Where is Mike?" Natalie asked inquiring about their other chaser
"He stayed back to uhhh do something," Sirius said
"He volunteered to put away the ball crate," Amanda said smiling "where's Lilly?"
"Do you think I'd know?"
"You two still haven't made up," Jessica said
"No, in the two minutes you weren't here we made
up, hugged, an she ran upstairs without leaving any trace of being here" Natalie said sarcastically
"Sorry, Gosh!" Jessica said
"You should just say sorry," Tessa said
"Tried, failed, back to square one," Natalie said "I'm going to bed," She stood up and walked away "And don't roll your eyes at me!!" she said and Tessa stopped mid-roll
"Whets up with her?" Tessa asked
"She just tired, “Amanda said
"Yeah right," Said Sirius "I know Nat, she's upset and doesn't want to show it,"

As This is Happening

Lilly was sitting in one of her favorite spots by the lake. She had been watching the Quidditch practice from a distance, she had seen Tessa hit the bludger in Natalie's direction, but seeing Natalie collapse, fall off her broom and being caught by Sirius was not as distressing to her as it would have been a month ago. She had also seen James telling Tessa off, and even from a distance she could see how hot he was when he was mad. Finally, Lilly realized she was cold; she pulled her numb feet out of the freezing water of the lake, slipped her shoes on, and wiped a frozen tear from her eye. She couldn't stand not talking to Natalie she had been her best friend for seven years, ever since they had met on the Hogwarts express.

She remembered the day as clearly as ever: a small red haired girl was sitting in the seat closest to the window looking out watching the train speed away from the station. She was nervous, she had found out that she was a witch over a month ago and it still didn't seem real. A boy with long greasy black hair had walked in then, "Severus Snape," The red headed girl had said, she had recognized him because he lived very close to her house also he was the reason her sister, her only sister whom she had loved to play with as a little girl, the sister she had called 'Tuney' now thought that she was a freak. Severus hadn't seemed to notice that she didn't want to talk and tried to strike up a conversation. That’s where Natalie and Amanda had come in, Natalie had said "Gosh Snape stop harassing the poor girl," Snape had stood up, snarled at Natalie, and walked out the compartment door.
Lilly couldn't believe that the small red headed girl that had sat in that compartment on September first, seven years ago was looking back at her from her reflection in the dark water. Natalie and Lilly had been so close for so long, but Lilly now thought that Natalie had done something beyond forgiveness.

Lilly slapped herself. James was just a guy and Natalie was her best friend in the world! What was more important? There were other guys out there but nothing, nothing was more important than a friend! Lilly was mad at herself! She couldn't believe she had been that rude to Natalie over a guy!

"Natalie tried to apologize too," Lilly thought when someone behind her said "Lilly?"

Lilly turned around to see a tall girl with long platinum blond hair that seemed to glow in the darkness "Nat?"
"Oh my god Lilly what are you doing out here it's freezing!" Natalie said wrapping Lilly in the pink blanket she was holding "Come on you need to get warmed up!"

Lilly and Natalie walked up four flights of stairs without saying a single word. On the fifth flight Lilly said "How is your side?"
"What?," Natalie said she hadn't been thinking of the bruise on her left side "Oh, you could see from the lake, it's fine," They finished walking to the seventh floor in silence until the fat lady asked for the password "Norwegian Ridgeback," Natalie said confidently.
"Sorry dear," The fat lady said "The password changed at Midnight just a few moments ago,"
"What!" Lilly said.
"But you know we're in Gryffindor so could you please just let us in?" Natalie asked
But the fat lady just shook her head "I really am sorry dear but you could be Death eaters in disguise you know,"
"We could be whatsits?" Natalie asked
"Do you read the paper Nat?" Lilly asked
"Oh, Death eaters those people that fallow Lord...uh...Thingy,"
"But," said Lilly "I'm head girl, the head girl and boy are supposed to know the passwords before anyone else, right?"
"You'll have to talk to professor Dumbledore about that deary, but in the meantime you know the rules 'no password no entry',"
"Wonderful!" Said Natalie sarcastically "Now we're stuck out here all night,"
"Well at least today’s a Friday and we don't have class tomorrow," Lilly said
"Always the optimist," Natalie said.
"Hey, there’s nothing bad about being an optimist and always seeing the cup half full is there?"
"Apart from it being annoying....no,"
"Hey!" Lilly said
"I just kidding jeez!" Natalie laughed
"Natalie," Lilly said
"What," Natalie asked
"I forgive you about the whole James thing,"
"Really," Natalie asked
"Yeah, he's just a guy"
"But he's a guy who's nuts about you," Natalie said "Those are pretty hard to find,"
"What are you two doing out here so late?" the fat lady's portrait had opened to revel Amanda "Come on let’s get back up stairs,"

When the girls got into their dorm they found that everyone was still awake. Amanda bent down and lit a fire in the grate "Ahh the advantages of being in seventh year," Amanda said "We actually get a fire in our room,"
Tessa laughed shaking her shining chestnut hair back as she did so. "Hey," Lilly said "You're not the one who's frozen solid,"
"Ok, ok, ok," Tessa said smiling "Here," She handed Lilly a bottle of festive peppermint scented lotion "As you warm up you'll also dry up,"

"Oh my god Lilz look," Natalie said kneeling next to her "You have ice in your hair," Lilly looked in the mirror Natalie handed her and laughed
"What’s up," Jessica coming in wearing a Christmas, Nighttime tee-shirt with a picture of Rudolf the red nosed reindeer and a pair of fleece pants, Lilly had just noticed that she wasn't their when she came in.
"It took you long enough in there," Tessa said walking into the bathroom her sister had just walked out.
"So where have you been Lilly?" Jessica asked pulling her chestnut hair (that was not quite as shiny as her sisters) into a ponytail.
"Well I was out by the lake and then Nat and I got stuck at the portrait hole, apparently we will find out tomorrow that that the password changed at midnight.
Jessica groaned "That sucks,"
"Yeah, so what were you doing?" Lilly asked standing up, walking over to her bed, and starting to put on the peppermint lotion.
Jessica sat up in her bed which happened to be across from Lilly's "Nothing much, avoided doing homework mostly,"
"Tessa hurry up I have to get ready for bed too ya know!!" Natalie yelled pounding on the bathroom door.
Tessa came out of the bathroom wearing pink silk pajamas and her hair wrapped in a towel "It's all yours," she said to Natalie
"Oh my gosh Tess are you nuts it's below thirty degrees," Amanda said "You are going to freeze,"
"That’s what the blankets are for," Tessa said getting some water from the jug by her bed.
The girls were settling into their Friday night routine: Stay up late talking and playing truth or dare.
Lilly pulled her long strait, couldn't curl it if you tried, red hair into a pony tail.
"Who missed me!!!?” Natalie said coming out of the bathroom
"Not me-e," Tessa said trying to deliberately get on Natalie's nerves.
"Shut up," Natalie said

Lilly stood up and walked into the bathroom last, closed the door, brushed her teeth, washed her face, shed her school robes and pulled on her pajamas. Lilly looked at her reflection it the mirror over the sink, her hair was almost as long a Natalie's now, because she hadn't had it cut in over a year, but while Natalie's hair had perfect ends, Lilly had terrible split ends. She decided to go into Hogsmeade this weekend and get it cut to her upper back instead of almost to her waist. Lilly's gaze turned to her face, good completion and naturally long lashes but her cheeks were still blotchy with cold and she knew they would be that way until spring but Lilly didn't mind she never understood why Natalie and Tessa wore so much makeup they looked just as pretty without it. The most makeup Lilly wore on special occasions was mascara just to plump her eyelashes and red lip gloss and on a regular basis all she wore was pale pink gloss.

"No way!!" Tessa was saying when Lilly walked out of the bathroom in red fleece pants and a white tee-shirt.
"What?" Lilly asked
"I've got a date tomorrow night?" Jessica said casually
"That’s cool who with?" Lilly asked
"Chance Temlake," Tessa said
"Who?" Lily asked
"The Ravenclaw Quidditch captain," Natalie said
"The HOT Ravenclaw Quidditch captain!" corrected Tessa
"I don't understand the fuss about him to be honest," Natalie said "I mean sure he's hot but he's got nothing on the marauders,"
"Natalie," Tessa said "Not all of us are lucky enough to date a marauder. I mean like Remus and Sirius are taken and James hasn't seen a girl in what is it three years.... ever since he and Nat broke up,"
"There's still Peter," Natalie said Tessa looked at her for a moment and then all of the girls were laughing "ok I'm sorry that was mean," Natalie said
"Speaking of dating where is Aly?" Amanda asked
"I think you just answered your own question," Jessica said laughing
"Come on its 11:30 lets go to sleep," Lilly said
"Spoil sport!" Tessa stuck her tongue out at Lilly and Lilly stuck here's out too.

The next day James was sitting in an armchair by the fire. Natalie slid into the chair next to him. "Hi," said brightly with a fake flirty look on her face.
"You keep looking at me like that I won't care that I like Lilly I'll just kiss you," He said Natalie laughed, being one of the more popular girls in school she had quite a few admirers, but she loved to hang out with James because they had known each other for so long and there was no romantic pressure, they were just friends and that was the was Natalie loved it
"No, I'm serious," James said putting his arm around her
"What!"
"Just kidding!" James said laughing at the stunned look on Natalie's face.
"That’s not funny, Natalie said hitting James' shoulder.
"Hello Love," Sirius said he knew they loved to joke around, he didn't mind he had known James long enough to know that he would never touch his girl.
"Hey Dear, hi Remus. Oh my gosh Remus you look so pale come sit by the fire," Natalie said standing up and offering him her seat
"It won't help," Remus said
"Yes it will, sit,"
"But..."
"Yes I know tonight’s full moon...now SIT (please)," Natalie was beautiful, but when she shouted she was scary. Remus sat Natalie lie down on the hearth rug with her head on Sirius' lap.
"When's Quidditch practice?" Natalie asked
"Tomorrow," James said
"Okay," Natalie stood up "The girls will wonder where I am," She kissed Sirius hugged James and Remus and ran out the portrait hole to the court yard
"Where have you been?" Lilly asked
"¿Sí dónde?" Chickadee said
"Natalie was so used to this to notice Chickadee wasn't speaking English.
"Just in the common room," Natalie said
"Are you going home for Christmas?" Chickadee asked Lilly, Natalie, Amanda, Jessica, and Tessa "The train leaves tonight,"
"Nah," Lilly said "My sister's getting married in the spring and the more time I spend away from home the better, plus I'll see them then,"
"Me either," Natalie said
"Or me," Amanda said
"Or us," Jessica and Tessa said.
"**** it , I'll be the only one going home," Chickadee said
"It's okay," Jessica said I'll be boring,"
"Let's go into Hogsmeade," Lilly said
"Sure," Tessa said "Let's go shopping!"
"Then let's go!" Chickadee said and Amanda and Jessica agreed.

In Hogsmeade Lilly drifted away from the group at 'Witchy Cuts' to get her hair done "Meat us at the three broomsticks," Natalie said
"Don't get it too short!!!!" Jessica teased
"You don't even have to worry about that!" Lilly said as she stepped into the shop.
" 'Ello deary Im Donia," The woman behind the counter said in an accent she didn't recognize
"I just need a trim," Lilly said hoping that this woman wouldn't be the one to cut her hair
"Lea! The goyl needs you," Donia shouted to the back room
"Who?" Lea asked. She was tall and pale with hair lighter than Natalie's
"Er!" Donia said pointing at Lilly maybe she was French? No... Russian? Possibly.
Lea flinched "Okay." She led Lilly to the back room where she showed Lilly her chair while she rummaged in a drawer for a pair of scissors. , "What’s up with Donia?" Lilly asked
"Oh moms just being mom. Why do you think were called 'Whichy cuts'?"
Lilly laughed Lea seemed friendly enough
"You're from the school aren't you," Lea asked
"Yep," Lilly replied
"I graduated two years ago," Lea said starting to cut Lily's hair
"What house," Lilly asked
"Slytherin," Lea said carelessly
"R....really?" Lilly said
"Don't hold it angst me," Lea said; “Here I'm done," she led Lilly to the front desk where Donia collected ten galleons from Lilly
"Come back soon!!" Lea called from the door

Lilly arrived at the three broom sticks before the other girls had, so she ordered a coffee. When it arrived so did her friends.
"How are ya?" Amanda asked smiling
"Good," Lilly said "Did you do your Christmas shopping,"
"Nearly," Natalie said "Love your hair by the way, but really what do you get for a guy, I mean I've dated plenty of them, but never long enough to be forced to buy them a gift,"
"Here's what I do," Amanda said carelessly "Wait for them to get you a gift, it's usually jewelry or something, then when he gives it to you give him a big kiss,"
"I could do that," Natalie said with a smirk on her face "Or....."
"Don't wanna know!" Tessa said quickly
"So are you going to get your boyfriend something Jessica?" Chickadee asked
"First of all," Jessica said "He's not my boyfriend, and second of all how the hell do you know?"
"I'm a gossip, you know that!" Chickadee said
"You're also terribly annoying," Jessica said
"Finally, someone who agrees with me," Sirius said
"What are you guys doing here we're not supposed to come here unless it's a Hogsmeade weekend!" Lilly and James said together
"Wow!" Sirius and Natalie said
"Soul mates!" Chickadee whispered across the table, Lilly stomped on the foot
"Ouch!!!" Chickadee shrieked
"Nice one," Sirius said
"Thanks, Sirius, could you Remus and Pot...James get me a refill?"
"Sure, anyone else?"
"Me," Natalie, Tessa, and Chickadee said
"Okay," Sirius said, he took Natalie's and Tessa's cups and walked away without Chickadee's
"Hey," Chickadee ran after him
"I'll miss him," Natalie said

"Why must Chicky where such Sharp heels?" Sirius asked at dinner (his toe was all swollen)
"I don't know mate," James said
"She's at home for Christmas now so you don't have to worry about that," Natalie said
"True," it had not been Lilly’s choice to sit with the Marauders but Natalie, Amanda, and Tessa had dragged her over, Jessica was at the Ravenclaw table.
"Hey, Lilly," James said "I think you have an owl,"
"It's from the ministry," Lilly said "What could be so important that it couldn't wait until morning?"
"Why don't you find out," Amanda asked as Lilly ripped open the paper envelope
"Oh my god!" Lilly whispered, she put down the letter and ran out of the hall. Natalie and Amanda grabbed for the letter but James beat them to it his eyes scanned the page and he ran out or the hall after Lilly. Natalie took the letter and read aloud

Dear Miss Evans;
We regret to inform you that you're mother has been killed by the death eaters when she refused to give them information.
With deepest sympathy,

There seemed to be silence in the hall for a moment then Natalie stood just up, grabbed James' invisibility cloak from Sirius, and strode out of the hall. She just made it through the heavy doors that led to the grounds before they closed after James.

"Psst!" she heard someone behind her say
"Sirius for god’s sake get under," she hissed. Side by side they watched James catch up to Lilly and comfort her.

Lilly was crying into James' shoulder she didn’t care that she was 'supposed' to hate James or that everyone would wonder where she was, all she cared about was that her mother whom she loved so much was gone forever.

"James," Lilly sniffed "Why did you come after me?"
"I knew you'd need a shoulder to cry on," He said
"Oh," Lilly said quietly "That’s so sweet,"
"I'm really not a bad guy," James said
Lilly wiped her eyes and said “I know," and before Lilly could help herself she was kissing him and it was the most wonderful feeling in the world and then she felt James' tongue press against hers. She closed her eyes and opened her lips.
"Oh my God," Sirius said "So much for not liking him,"

Are James and Lilly together at last, of course......right?
Do you Love it?... maybe, maybe not but I'll never know if you don't tell me!!!

Chapter 14

Natalie nudged Sirius shoulder and whispered "Come on, we should go in," they turned Sirius opened the door and they slipped inside.
The door slammed behind them, and James and Lilly broke apart.

"Who was that I didn't see anyone," Lily said.
"Probably Nat and Sirius," James said carelessly
"James Potter you sent them out here so you would have proof I snogged you!" Lilly ran towards the steps to the castle
"Lilly," James caught her. "Lilly do you think I would do that,"
"The old James would," Lilly whispered "but I'd hoped you changed,"
"Lilly, I know that somewhere inside you know that I've changed,"
"What would the old James have done in that situation?"
"He would have taken advantage of you, and used the fact that you just lost someone,"
"And the new James came out to comfort me not to get a date?" Lilly asked
"Yes, I did!" James said
"I believe you," Lilly said softly,

She stood on her tip-toes (although she was quite tall he was taller) gave him a peck on the lips and hugged him. James arms wrapped around her in a tight embrace. Snow shined in Lilly's red hair and stood out in James' untidy, black hair.

"Come on it's cold," She whispered in his ear.

Together they walked up to the hand in hand, but when they reached the door Lilly slid her’s out of his

"Let’s not tell everyone yet,"
"They'll know," James pointed out "there was a spy,"
"True but maybe they didn't tell anyone,"
"If it makes you happy," James said.

Lilly's insides melted 'He was so sweet!" They made it to the hall in time for pudding.

"Where have you two been" Tessa asked
"Umm..." Lilly said she and James should have made up a story before they came in.
"James took Lilly to the hospital wing for something to calm her down," Natalie lied smoothly
"But..." Sirius started Natalie kicked him.

Remus finished his glass of butter beer and whispered something to his girlfriend, Amanda kissed him, and he stood up.

"Well I've got to go guys," Remus said standing up.
"See ya later,” Sirius said Remus gave Amanda another kiss and walked away.
"I'd forgotten tonight was full moon," Tessa said
"How do you forget?" Amanda asked
"She doesn't feel the need to memorize the stages of the moon," Natalie hissed
"New, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full, waning gibbous, third quarter, waning crescent, and New" Amanda said
"Well we all have our little quir...."Tessa said but was interrupted by Jessica squeezing herself into Remus' spot
"Hey..." But she never got all her words out either. Apparently Dumbledore had just dismissed them.

In the common room "I'm going to bed," Natalie said
"But it's seven," Sirius said "And tomorrow is break,"
"Yes I know and I plan to sleep from now until noon tomorrow," Natalie said
"Come on Remus will be waiting," James said.
Lilly caught his eye and blushed softly "I'm going to bed too,"
"And I'm going upstairs to read," Amanda said "Well I'm not," Tessa said "Me either," Jessica said.

The boys left the room "Now you can tell me about your date," "You know I've changed my mind I think I'll go to bed," Jessica said standing up.
"I'm flexible," Tessa stood up to "I'm not going to get away from you am I?"
"You'd have to have a really, really, really good hiding place,"
Tessa said Jessica groaned and sat back down while Lilly, Natalie, and Amanda went to bed.

Ok I know it's not much but it has to happen before the next chapter so

Chapter 15

The next morning Lilly woke up from a long night of tossing and turning and rubbed her eyes.
"Hey Lilz, how are you today," Natalie asked she was sitting on her bed painting her toe nails a pale shade of blue. Lilly noticed that again they were the in only two the dormitory.
"Fine, where...”
"Is everyone?" Natalie cut across her "I don’t know I woke up late 'cause my day doesn't start for another hour,"

Lilly walked over to the mirror and picked up the hair brush, something gold glinting on her wrist caught her eye "Oh my gosh what’s this,"
"What’s what?" Asked Natalie, she inserted a piece of cotton between each of her toes and walked over to Lilly "Let me see," She carefully unclasped the bracelet from Lilly wrist, "It's so pretty where did you get it?"
"I didn't know I had it!"
"When did you notice it?" Natalie asked examining the bracelet interestedly. It was a solid gold chain with several small diamonds set into each link.
"Just now," Lilly said
"Are you going to wear it?"
"Yes," Lilly said pulling shirt out of the closet Natalie pulled a tee shirt, white jeans, and a denim jacket out of the closet and walked into the bathroom while Lilly changed by her bed.

In the common room….

"Hey Lilly, how are you feeling today" Alice said when Lilly sat down.
"Ok," Lilly said
"Good," Alice smiled "Oooh, pretty bracelet,"
"Thanks," Lilly said
"Lilly, how are you!!" It was Amanda standing in the portrait hole there were deep circles under her eyes.

They weren’t there yesterday were they? They had to have been they were too big to come from one night of no sleep, but she hadn't noticed them.

"Oh my goodness Amanda when was the last time you got a full night of sleep?" Lilly asked.
"Why?" Amanda asked.
"Because you look like death," Natalie said from the couch.
"Oh I forgot my makeup, didn't I?" Amanda said. "I'll be right back," She limped over to the staircases to the dorms. A moment later she came out again, still limping but there were no longer dark circles under her eyes.

"Amanda why are you limping?" Alice asked
"Oh I just sprained my ankle," Amanda replied.

Amanda was the shy one but Lilly knew that just underneath the shyness was a girl toughened by dating a man who, however sweet and sensitive he was the rest of the time, turned into a raging monster once a month.

"Why haven't you been sleeping?" Natalie asked
"Well I didn't sleep last night because...well do you ever sleep well at full moon?"
"No but..."
"I rest my case," Amanda said cutting rudely across her friend
"Why are you so agitated this morning?" Lilly asked
"I've just been to the hospital wing," Amanda said as if it was an answer
"And," Natalie asked
”they refused to let me in!” Amanda said
“Do you know if the boys have been let out yet?” Natalie asked
"Did I not just tell you they refused to let me in!”
“Girls please calm down,” Lilly said pressing a couch pillow over her ears.
“Hey I’ve never seen that bracelet before!” Amanda said
”James gave it to her,” Natalie said winking
“Shut up,”
“Yeah Nat shut up,” Amanda joked
“You too,” Lilly mumbled
“What, I’m defending you here!” Amanda started laughing.

Lily smiled but she then felt someone reach over the couch and tickle her side "Ah-ah-ah!" She shrieked

"Boo!" James said
"Hey," Lilly took the pillow and hit James several times with it.
"Get my bracelet?" He asked sitting down next to her
"So he did give it to you told ya!" Natalie said with a smirk.

Lilly twisted around searching for the pillow she had thrown at James but could not find it.

"Looking for this Lilz," Sirius said coming up behind them with the pillow.
"Yes!" Lilly said
"I'll do the honors then, shall I," He hit Natalie on the butt.
"Ack" She shirked and twisted around and put her arms around his neck.
"Get a room," Amanda said
"Like you and Remus did last week?" Natalie said slyly "Yeah I know about that!"
"But...What...How?" sputtered a blushing Amanda.
"Just kidding I didn't know it was true!" Natalie said with shock
Amanda looked like she could have slapped her.

Oh goodness sorry about the delay

here's chapter 16 (the last chapter before the epilogue )

Chapter 16

The rest of the term passed quite slowly and soon it was time for Easter break.

"Finally!!" Natalie said falling back onto her bed "The last break before we graduate! What are you guys going to do?"
"Nothing for me, Petunia's wedding was postponed until summer because of..." Lily couldn't finish.
"You okay Lilz?" Amanda asked concern in her voice.
"Yeah," Lily said wiping two small tears from her eyes.

It gotten much better since December, when Lily had thought of her mother then she had cried like a baby, but now it seemed that she had wept all her tears.

"Girls come down and be social," a male voice yelled up the stairs.
"Sirius," Natalie groaned "you guys go down; I'll stay up here just to annoy him."
"Where's Nat?" Sirius asked when they came through the door into the common room.
"Oh she's not up there," Lilly said
"Aww, too bad, BECAUSE I WAS GOING TO GIVE HER A PRESENT!!" He yelled the last part up the stairs.

Natalie was down in less than a second.

"Present... I want my present!!!"
"Here," he said giving her a kiss on the cheek "There's your present,"
"Waste of time," She grumbled
"Ouch," Sirius said clutching his heart, Lilly giggled
"You know Sirius... you aren't half bad," Lilly said
"Of course not... I'm all bad,"

Lilly stuck her tongue out at him.

"That’s not very nice dear," James said putting his arms around Lilly
"Ungh," Lilly grunted "Neither is he,"
"No arguments there," said James chuckling.
"I rite here ya know!" Sirius said laughing as well
"Come with me,” her hand and led her to a corridor not too far from the common room.

At first, she thought he was lost because he walked past a blank stretch of wall three times, but then, a massive door appeared in the wall.

"Oh wow," Lilly said
"Come with me," he took me by the hand and led me into the room.
"Oh my, oh my, oh,"
"My?" James said
Lilly pushed his shoulder, "Wow, this place is amazing," there was a small...well lake, but it was shallow, there were stepping stones leading to a white table with a white table cloth, in the middle of the lake. The center piece was filled with orchids and other tropical flowers. Beneath her feet was green, mossy grass.

"Come," James said grasping her hand and leading her to the table where two plates were set for dinner.
"Shrimp parmesan, my favorite!" Lilly said
"I know," James said
"Aww, how sweet of you," Lilly said, she took a bite "Oh it's really good,"

They ate their dinner and when they finished their plates disappeared and one plate with a dark chocolate cake filled with raspberry sauce and had some splashed on top.

"It was delicious, James," Lilly said as they were walking towards the door
"Good, Lilly, I have a question,"
"Yes?" She asked
"Lilly Evens," He said getting down on one knee, "Will you marry me?"

"Damn, I hate this dress," Natalie said looking down at the big pink poof surrounding her "No way Lily,"
"I agree," said Amanda coming out of the changing room. She looked even more ridicules than Natalie because of the fact that her hair was up in two chic chopsticks and chic was anything but this dress.

Lily started laughing and laughing, "I *Giggle* know *Giggle* couldn't *Giggle* resist,"
Natalie shot sparks out of her eyes, "As freaking tempting as it is to tell you off right now, I won’t,"
Lily laughed even more, "I know, like I said, couldn't resist," here are you're dresses!" She handed Natalie a silk, long, slim, strapless dark green gown, and handed Amanda one almost identical but spaghetti strap, and midnight blue, "These are you're dresses
"Oh thank God," Amanda said laughing.

One week later Lily was walking down the aisle in a gorgeous white dress, with her red hair up in an elegant bun. Natalie, the maid of honor was leaning on Sirius's arm, crying into his hankie.

The reception was bursting with excitement, everyone was dancing and singing. Finally everyone started to eat Lily, James, Natalie, Sirius, Amanda, and Remus shared a table. Lily and James began feeding each other wedding cake. "Well Love," Sirius said "While those two are stuffing their faces," he gestured to Lily and James "I have a question for you my dear," He pulled a box out of his pocket, "Would you like to go through this ordeal again with me?" he opened the box to show a ring with an emerald surrounded, not drastically different than the one Lilly now wore on her finger, except hers had a ruby.

Natalie threw her arms around Sirius and started to cry again. He rubbed her back until she chocked out "Yes" a round of applause from the table greeted her, she couldn't help but smile.

Later when Lily and James were leaving Lily tossed the bouquet behind her, Natalie caught it, but quickly she tossed it to Amanda, who blushed and looked a Remus. He blew her a kiss.
And then Lily and James flew away on James's broom, to start their new life, unaware of any of the troubles that lay in their future.
