Hopefully no one else has this kind of thread...
Now, there are lots of people out there who love Harry. Heaps love Ron and Hermione. There are supernovas of people who worship Draco and Snape fans are everywhere! There are many, many, many, many people who think Lupin is the most sweetest guy EVER, some who just want to give Neville or Hagrid a big hug and some who would like nothing more than to discuss Fudge's army of fire demons he has with Luna.
But what about those people who love Mrs. Figg? Do you hanker for Filch? Or is Blaise Zabini your man? Do you have Pansy Parkinson on your wall or do you dream about Ernie Macmillan?
Basically, are there people out there who have a favourite minor character or a character most would be confused about as to why you like them.
Mrs. Black supporters, this thread is for you, too.
If you KNOW anyone who loves an Unconventional favourite, then come!

I have a feeling that there is actually a minor character favourites thread, but I haven't found it yet so this thread can stay open.
However I am just letting people know that I'm moving it to the General Books area

Mine is Binns
Yes I know we rarely hear of him but I just think he's so funny! Like how he calls Harry 'Perkins' and Hermione 'Miss Grant'. I really really hope he has a big role in book 7.
This wasn't supposed to be a minor characters thread. It's supposed to be a 'if you seriously like a character that people wouldn't usually like' thread. If there's any confusion, it's entirely my fault.
Until the mysterious minor characters thread is found, then people talking about minor characters are welcome. I don't have the broadband to serach the site!
I like Mungungus. He's so funny. He sounds like he has a cool accent.

I love Mundungus too. Remember the Goblet of Fire? He was trying to say that he had a big tent mansion, but they knew he was sleeping under a tent held up by sticks? I about died laughing. I love his character.

My view has changed since the first film because I thought how everything Seamus Finnigin did in school resulted in something getting blown up. Like in Professor Filtwiks class when he attempts the levitating charm on the feather and it blew up. Since then I have grown to like hermione.

Ha! I laughed at that too! I also laugh at what character's say about Mundungus. I think it was Sirius who was talking about why Mundungus was in the Order and it was because he knew all the crooks because he was one.

I am a huge fan of Oliver Wood, from the books, not so much on the movies. I love how his real passion is Quididtch, and he absolutely rants and rants and rants when he is trying to get a point across. He is really enthusiastic with real determination about the craziest things, so I believe he is absolutely hysterical! I can totally relate to him sometimes. Great idea for a thread.

Oh yes I do like some minor characters, the way they are framed..Some are Flitwick ,he is a superb teacher in my opinion!.Not too strict and too funny.the way he stands on the books which are stacked!!.Then there is..Ernie Macmillan..He is a fickle minded guy..that's what I like about him..then..Umbridge(I know that she is not a minor character!!she has a great influence on the readers)..evil git!!...Colin Creevey..funny shy guy...then..ok I'll stop it here.It seems like a never ending list right?..

I do love Dobby, as my username says, but not that much anymore.
My favorite characters who aren't reguarly favorite characters are Winky (I love her fits), Mad Eye (I think he's adorable), Mrs. Figg (Poor old woman), Ernie MacMillan, Dean Thomas (Hey, I like the name "Dean"), Seamus rocks, and of coarse Luna. But everyone likes Luna...

Aww..classicalravenclawwriter, shucks...
Oliver rules! And I think Tonks is in that odd limbo in between main and minor. She's not instumental in the plot, but you can't just blank her out now (Lupin: 'ARGH were'd she go?!').

I am a big fan of Bill Weasley! I love the hair and the earring and the whole treasure thing!! HE is def one of my faves. I would say another unconvential one is Harry. I love HArry and I rarely see him as a favourite. But i am a big Harry supporter.

Well a unconventional character that I love is Bellatrix. She is as much crazy as she is evil to the core. Her kind of loyalty scares me and fascinates me too. Can't fathom that type of loyalty unless it fits my needs, very Slytherin I suppose. I can't wait to see more of her in the seventh book. I also have this weird fascination with Lord Voldemorte. He is a megolomaniac and dreadfully smart. Like Ollivander said "he did very great thing...terrible but very great things." What can I say I like the dark side, wouldn't join though. I wouldn't be ruthless enough.

i love love love knigsley shacklbolt...he is so amazing okay if vernon can like him, he can be a double agent at the ministry, he can catch on to dumbledore's tricks, he's really powerful, his patronus is a lynx, he can blend in with muggles, and his voice can calm a frantic group of people? come on that's just awesome...and he has an earring

Um...Oliver Wood rocks!!! I love him, love him, love him, love him!!!

Partially because they got an adorable guy to play him in the movies. Love his accent! I like Bellatrix because she is almost like Voldy's fangirl. Bill rocks.Period.

I like Romilda Vane because she is on the cusp of being an evily derranged fangirl.

I like Cormac McLagglin (spelling?) because he reminds me of the guy who was talking to Mary at the dance in
It's a Wonderful Life. I loved that part. Erm Pansy Parkingson is kind of like Draco's Bellatrix so I like her the same way. And that's about it!

I love Tonks. I thought she was cool from the begining. Allot of people who aren't so obsessed with the Potter series are allot like,"Tonks is awesome- but Lupin!?" whenever I say that I LOVE Lupin. He's just so awesome.

Oh yeah! I'm a huge Tonks fan! I think she's really cool with that "I change my appearance to match my mood" thing! She's so lucky! I try to dress up to mood... I love how passionate she is! It's nice to see a character who acts as she feels.
On that matter, Oliver Wood is great too! He just loves his sport, and I don't know why, but ever since the first book, I imagine him handsome... Sean Biggerstaff helps to that! But it began before the first movie.
Then, continuing with the passionate issue, there's Bellatrix. I hate her so much that I love her! She's just the perfect evil girl, and I think, the only Death Eater who is a woman, and branded with the Dark Mark (I think Narcissa doesn't have it... does she?)... Way to go girl!
And what about Kreacher? He's so faithful! I hated him at the beginning, but then, he turned out to be so nice! Yeah! Let's all vote for Kreacher to be the new House-elf Union Director!

Arthur Weasley is classic! I love him! Adds a bit of humour in a fatherly way.And in the films it has to be Lucius Malfoy although I obviously don't like what he stands for!! And I don't get the Tonks thing, I honestly didn't care about what happened to her in DH. Sorry.
But I did care about Lupin. I love him much more than Tonks. And not just because he is male.

Well, what do you know, I just found this by accident. Yay! My thread's come back from the dead!
I also really like Arthur Weasley. Even if JK decided to kill poor Lupin and Tonks instead of him, I still enjoy his character alot.

I'm big fan of Bill Weasley!! I think he sounds dead cool - with the fanged earring, long hair and 'looking like he's dressed for a rock concert' he just sounds like a fun bloke!
I'm also a Tonks lover - not sure whether you'd count her as main or minor, but I love her anyway.
And Kingsley - I don't know why, but everytime he's there he just seems to make everyone seem safe, and he seems the type to look up to and be a role model.
And I just love Bellatrix! She's so evil, it's amazing! She's a very strong character, and just her passion for Voldemort that drives her is so great! I don't understand why I think she's so great, cos she is an evil little so-and-so, but whatever!! I think Helena Bonham Carter helps my image of Bellatrix cos she is without a doubt, my favourite actress!

I have to say I do love Bellatrix! She's so evil and I should hate her but I love her.
Although, I have to say - I hate her guts for killing Sirius

I want to kill her for that.
But her craziness and her wild passion for evil is just so amazing. Even if she did kill Sirius

I can never over look that lol

I love Mr. Weasley!!
"Now tell me, what exactly is the function of a rubber duck?"
hehe
JKs evaded killing him on so many occasions! She said that she was going to kill him in the 5th book as well, and in a way I wish she had killed him in then because by not killing him it meant that Sirius had to die
And as you can tell - I'm a HUGE Sirius fan!

But lets not go there or you wont shut me up =P
Another character I love to death is Barty Crouch Jr. (and Sr. in the films for that matter - Owen from Vicar of Dibly lol!

) I was so happy that David Tennant played him in the film !

Sir Cadogan!
I mean yeah he's only really mentioned twice, and that was in the same book, but come on, those where hilarious lines! Challenging Harry, Ron and Hermione, getting his sword stuck in the grass, being the only one to volenteer to be the password keeper to Gryffindor Tower because he's nuts - he's brilliant!
Am I the only one who remembers him?

I really doubt it, somehow.
I guess saying that I like (as in REALLY like) Kingsley Shacklebolt makes the case for his unconventionality weaker, because I see I'm definitely not the first, but he is a favourite of mine. The guy in the film is quite cool, but Kingsley as I imagine him is even better!
I love Arthur Weasley, too. I'd marry a guy like him any day!

He's eccentric, good natured, kind, interesting, a Muggle lover (which says a lot about his healthy sense of right and wrong) and I really love his passionate interest in all things Muggle. I can relate to that slightly feverish obsession and his eagerness to talk about it to the "experts" whenever he gets half a chance.

Well... Moaning Myrtle's my fav. She shamelessly flirts with Harry (matched only by Romilda Vain), is morbid to the extreme and is ferociously self-pitying and melodramatic. Not to mention a superficial gossip. Seriously, what's not to love?
Though I have to agree with you Laurette: Arthur Weasley is awesome. There's no denying it.
