1. Go to the topic you want to subscribe to, and on the top right corner of the parchment, right next to the topic title, click on Options. A drop down menu should appear that looks something like this:
Options
-> Track this topic
-> Email this topic
-> Print this topic
-> Download this topic
-> Subscribe to this forum
Display Modes
-> Switch to: Outline
-> Standard
-> Switch to: Linear+
2. Click on Track this topic. You'll be taken to a page listing a few emailing options:
No Email Notification
Delayed Emailed Notification
Immediate Email Notification
Daily Email Digest
Weekly Email Digest
An explanation of each is given, so just select the option that suits you best, click on proceed and you're done!
You can do the exact same thing for the forum the topic is in by clicking on Subscribe to this forum, instead of Track this topic.Forum subscriptions
This works a lot like topic subscriptions, but the drop down menu can also be found when you're viewing the forum itself. Click on Forum Options in the top right corner to see this:
-> Mark forum as read and return
-> Mark forum as read and return to board index
-> Subscribe to this forum
Click on Subscribe to this forum and select an email setting.
Managing your subscriptions
To change something about your subscriptions, go to your control panel (My Controls in the top right corner of the page).
Under the Subscriptions section you'll see two options - View Topics and View Forums. Clicking on one of them will show you your subscriptions, and you'll be able to select specific topics/forums. To change a setting or to unsubscribe, choose the appropriate option from the drop down menu at the bottom.
Automatic/Quick subscriptions
This will automatically subscribe you to any topic you start or reply to. Go to My Controls -> Options -> Email settings.
The last option is Enable 'Email Notification' by default?. If you select that option you must specify an email setting, just like you would have done otherwise. Ticking this will automatically subscribe you to the topics you post in. You'll notice that beneath the text area where you type in your post there are three options:
Enable emoticons?
Enable signature?
Enable email notification of replies?
By default the first two are ticked, (depending on your board settings) but selecting the third one will enable the email setting you specified in your control panel to notify you of any replies made to that topic. You can deselect it for each reply you make if you don't want to subscribe to the topic.
