biggrin.gif I have just watched Dan on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross and he was great!
He was his usual witty self and although they talked about Equus, they also discussed the OOP film!
I was amazed to hear that Dan had never before seen the teaser trailer for the film (which they showed during his interview).

And he's got a beard! Well... stubble more like tongue.gif

I just wondered if anyone else had seen the show and what they thought of his interview!

Sorry if this is already a topic or in the wrong place- my search didn't get any results and I didn't really know where it should go!

I love Dan! biggrin.gif tongue.gif

I didn't see it on the night, but I just watched it on YouTube - part one here and part two here for those who didn't see it.

I don't know...I miss the cute little innocent kid he used to be. He used to be so nervous and self-conscious, and that gave him a very endearing quality - really unassuming and modest and so in awe of everything, but I think he's beginning to lose that now. It's great he has more confidence now because he's older and more used to the attention, I'm not knocking him for that, but I just think he needs to be a little bit careful how he presents himself sometimes, that's all - he almost seemed a little arrogant in parts of that interview to me...

yeah i seen this the other night..but didnt catch all of it thanks for the links must watch it tongue.gif ..how much older does he look now!crazy lol

I do know what you mean, actually. Although I always thought that these qualities were quite rare in someone of his age, and were very unusual for someone of his...circumstances (being so famous/rich).
So I guess he's just catching up with the majority of the rest of the 17 year-old male population. tongue.gif

I downloaded the interview from a link on megaupload. He seems much more mature and comfortable which is a good thing, But we also need to remember that he is growning and cant stay 11 years old forever no matter how much some of us want him to.

I agree. But it's still such a novelty and it's so exciting to see him all grown up now (he'll be 18 in July). I mean everyone who's watched the films since the first one was released has seen him growing up and in transition. It's just so funny. But the interview was great! Johnathan Ross is obviously a funny chap and Dan can be quite the character as well. I thought it was quite entertain to hear the two of them chatting about Dan getting his rocks off.
Muggle_Born_Girl
Yer Jonathan Ross is a legend in my opinion because even if his interviewee is really uninteresting (which Dan is NOT) he makes the interview interesting and I'm always laughing all the way through.
But I think they both work really well together because they both have comedic talent and you can see they both like each other and get on really well.

I didn't get to see that, i didn't even know he was on it that week plus i forgot Ross was on when i was going to sleep. I think i am going to attempt seaching for that interview right now coz i tried one of thos links just now and it was deleted off youtube coz of COPYRIGHT.
Nevertheless i came across Dan's website and i saw a picture of him during that interview; I BARELY RECOGNISED HIM, he had a stubble beared, and i was sooo shocked to see this i am now very disappointed. I wish i wasn't but i can't help feel negative about his appearance lately. I hope he doesn't keep that beard for the Harry Potter RED CARPET later in July cos it absolutely scares me just looking at him.
I hope i havn't offended any of you DanRadcliffe fans out there and i hope you can forgive me. But its just difficult seeing Dan in the same light anymore because he's changed so much into someone (like someone said before) arogant. I still like him though, he's great. His image though has upset me recently because of how the media are representing him. Please, please, please give me a reason not to feel so disappointed anymore; show me more interviews of him being Harry potterDan again, other than EquusDan; i just wan't to forget about Equus and have him carry on the way he was - Yes, i know he wants to be taken seriously as an actor but can't he just wait until the Harry Potter franchise are over? I think Equus is just a ONE-OFF publicity stunt because he just want's to be be recognised, poor boy, not as Harry Potter but as a serious actor. I only hope he doesn't take it too far. Just take it slow Dan! Don't aim to high, too fast.

Ok. I just had a good look at the Daniel Radcliffe interview with Jonathan Ross, and I CHANGE MY MIND PEEPS!
He is in no way arrogent in this and his personality is exactly the same as it was before. Only, he has a beard, and it suits him especially. Plus he's neatened off his hairdo a little bit and he has definitely earned my respect.
Of course, i am a girl, and alot will suggest that i fancy Daniel Radcliffe, but i don't. Although i do think that in the interview he was looking better than he has done in months and THATS A STATEMENT!! Otherwise i totally and utterly respect him 10/10 and i think he has done well for himself and his intentions are great. He is still the innocent young lad we once knew and he has definitely not transformed his mind into a sexfreak. He is so totally innocent and that is the only thing that concerns me most of all.
I think of Daniel Radcliffe as a role model and someone who i can most definitely relate to. Apart from that i fancy boys and that he fancies girls. Many say that we share the same grin/smile and the same hyperactive state when we talk. This to me is a compliment. As i watched the video i began to remember why i admired him in the first place; he's hyperactive; he's charming and inadvertedly witty; he's shy at times yet he's easy to interact with; he's very funny and i just love the fact that he listens and responds just how i would in a conversation.
I now wan't to start getting pictures of him from his website - of him with his stubble - because he looks really good. And, i must admit, i'm growing suddenly attatched to his hair.
You know what i think his short hair is just a response to starring in Equus, and once its all over in June, he'll start to grow it back again.
I don't know if any of you guys had noticed in any of his OotP pictures, Harry (Dan Radcliffe's) hair has changed colour from dark brown to light brown; perhaps this is why they cast a fair-coloured young James as Harry's father. It doesn't really matter now because, in the interview, his hair has gone back to being dark. But then what was wrong with Dan's hair in the mean time? Is there something he's not telling us...that he's a METAMORPHMAGUS (Hah laugh.gif ... only kidding) happy.gif

Me too. But I'm hoping he'll shave it off so that he looks more Harry Potter-ish because I think he mentioned that the beard was for Equus, and he's on stage until July, if I remember correctly from the interview, so that's in time for the premiere, hopefully smile.gif

Of course not! ...and I AM a BIG Dan Radcliffe fan wub.gif ...but you're as intitled to your opinion as everyone else. I see what you mean, many people are growing less fond of his personality recently but it's mainly because of the way he's portrayed in the newspapers, some kind of sex freak.

I agree, I was really happy after this interview because I think it proved that Dan is the same lad, just a bit more grown up! He is 17 years old after all. He's just the same lad who's decided to make a career move. I mean, wouldn't anybody find doing 7 movies of the same series all in a row just a little bit tedious! I loved him in the interview, in helped me find renewed faith in him, having been just a teeny tiny bit swayed by the press. I guess I felt I didn't fully know who he was any more, what his motives were, if he'd changed. The interview helped me realise he hadn't changed, at least not for the worse, just in the same way we all do when we grow up and take risks and make decisions for ourselves. biggrin.gif

Dan and Jonathan have great chemistry, the last interview they did together was great, so was this one. They both have a sense of humour that I can really relate to, I get their humour which some may not, it's very English lol.

He said it was for his role in Equus. Dan is also 17, almost 18, and shaving is actually quite a pain in the **** sometimes. It's nature.

I don't get why some people expect him to stay 11 for the rest of his life lol.

I agree, it is very British humour, that's why I love it too, being English. I think they get on really well and like and respect each other so it makes for a really funny and good interview.

The difference between Dan's interview and lots of other peoples on Jonathon Ross is that, with Dan, Jonathan doesn't have to really try. Well, he does with his interview skills, but I mean he doesn't need to try very hard to make it funny...which is one of the key things of his show. Dan is a natural at humour and it makes Jonathan's job easier- and he makes it a really good interview!

They showed the Harry Potter trailer though. laugh.gif

And as i am only young 12. laugh.gif Some of the humour went over my head but i got some of it. He he. laugh.gif

You might not have realised this but all the things you've just said is exactly how i feel/felt, especially with what you just said in the last paragraph about the impact of the interview. As soon as i saw the interview i was already reassured about Daniel Radcliffe's character and personality. It has given me so much trust in him and i just know his humour wil just crack me up and remind me of me. He really makes me feel comfortable with the way i do and say things in public (with just alittle bit of english humour) because he does and says it the same.

Me too! Because he doesn't think too hard about his answers. Like sometimes with these kind of answers you can tell the celebs are thinking too hard about how to sound good, keep their image, or be really funny.
But that humour comes completely naturally to Dan. It flows out of him. He doesn't need to make an effort. And that's what's so refreshing... because we are assured that he is genuinely this great, funny, witty person who is almost definately the person he portrays himself to be.
And as you said, it gives me the confidence to do this. The reassurance that if I am my true self people will be able to tell, and will appreciate me for who I am.

This is why I love Dan you see! wub.gif

OOH! I know that interview was on quite a way back but i just found this topic and had to post a reply! happy.gif
Daniel looked so cute with his grown-up stubble [i watched the first film a couple of nights ago- aww! ^.^] but he also looked quite scared when he was being interviewed by good old Jonathan Ross!
Hehe. and then he started picking at the sofa- that made me laugh. The whole interview was good and i really wish i could go down to see Equus... [not just because he prances around naked.... no way! blink.gif ] Has anyone seen it?
Anyway! Yeah... interview was so amazingly cute! ^.^ Yeah for Daniel! hahah! Now i just can't wait till film five and book seven! woo! xx

No I haven't! sad.gif
I reallllly want to see Equus though!
He really sold it to me in the interview, plus I'd get to see Dan Radcliffe in real life. That would be just... wow! tongue.gif

If anyone has seen Equus please tell us about it and if it was as good as it sounded in the interview! He made me reallly want to see it, but i'm not allowed. I live hours from London and am skint!

I watched him live on jonathon ross as well!! I dont always watch the show, but when i saw he was coming on, on the adverts and the tv times, i had to watch it. I think hes very mature for his age, hes only 17. Not too keen on the beard though, he obviously wont have that in harry potter so we're safe lol. It striked me at how modest he is, its not like it is with some stars when theyre very up themselves, he was down to earth and very friendly. Id love to see equas also, i only live about 3 hours from london in birmingham, so it wouldnt cost much getting there , its just the price of the tickets. If anyone on this forum has seen him in the play though, can they like write a review for all us fans?? Thanks
biggrin.gif
Muggle_Born_Girl
I'd love to see him in Equus too. The interview made me really want to go and see him to support him because I think he's great at what he does and he came across great to me.

So yes, if anyone has seen Equus pleaseeee tell us about it!

And certainly... the increase in his maturity from his last J.Ross interview to this one is massive!!! I think he's great!... beard or not wink.gif (but i agree, he looks wayyy better without it).
