Well, you must admit, they could possibly work. Luna understands Harry, Harry understands Luna...
They can talk to each other, they're both picked on by others, they're both different. They both stand out from the crowd.
They're friends.
It's possible.

Yup, yup, Matthew's right--Harry and Luna have much in common. like an understanding between the two of them.
But maybe they'd be better off as really good friends than anything else. Because Luna seems a bit too...spacey for a relationship.

I tend to agree with this one. If Harry and Hermione would remain friends forever, this one has more possibility.
They already share a couple of experiences others have not.
But I also think, that there is more chances of Ron and Luna than with Harry.
Harry and Luna look better off as friends. Luna is too "dreamy" for Harry who needs to be grounded and reigned in from all his "dreams" and surprised outbursts. Someone like Hermione.

I've always thought since I read the 5th book, It's gotta be Harry and Luna or Harry and nobody. I think that Luna comes the closest to Harry... Again agreeing with Matthew. Either Harry is meant to go with Luna or completely alone.

then again...we all know J.K. Rowling loves pulling us into stuff and then throwing us back out in the last second...I though harry and cho actually stood a good chance..but then what happens? everything's going pretty good, and J.K. Rowling is able to throw us out and keep us guessing...
Maybe she's just doing this to distract us from what we should be focusing on...it'd be competely like her to do that..

May 6 2004, 01:39 AM
Well, if Harry's got a whole seven years of Hogwarts time, it'd be fairly boring if he stayed with the same girl for the whole time, eh? At least two relationships, so we can see different emotions and reactions from him.

I say if Harry doesnt end up with Hermione he'll probably end up with Luna. (but then again--these both seem like obvious choices...perhaps too obvious...) probably neither....perhaps he'll remain a bachelor forever...or die in book 7 so it wouldnt be an issue....I dunno.

[size=10]I definately see these two togeither...they're very different, but VERY alike in some ways. Luna has an odd understanding of Harry, she understands how hard it is to lose someone, and she's living proof that you can get over it and go on with you're life. Harry needs someone like her in his life, he's comforted by her, I think, no matter how...different...she is.
If they don't fall in love with each other, I believe that they'll at least become very strong friends.
Naz
Jun 23 2004, 06:52 PM
i am sure that they will become friends because of everything you said. how can he not be friends with her? but i dont think that they have the... erm... chemistry to be together. i know opposites attract but still

Shes really not that bad, and Harry can relate to her. She has seen death and has been ridiculed. When sirius dies, shes the only one who calms him down. Anything goes guys!

If could be something to think about. Think about how much she got under Hermione's skin and what Hermione thought of her at first. I think that it would be interesting because of the fact that Harry and Hermione are such good friends. You know your friends always end up with people that get under your skin.

At the end of OoTP, Harry begins to form a strong bond with none other than ....... Lonny Luna Lovegood. Im not sure what this relationship is or how far its going to go, but there is definately going to be another situation in which they team up. ANy theories, ideas, questions...

I just can't imagine Harry and Luna getting together...
Luna always reminded me of the highschool wierdo stereotype. You know, the girl that's smart, but kind of spazzy, kind of obsessive about, say, StarTrek (no offense)? You want to be nice to her, and you feel kind of bad for her, but you also don't necessarily want to be seen with her.
That'd be uber-wierd for Harry - and I think he'd have better taste than that. *shudder

I scream "YES!" Luna would give Harry a reality slap, because she is so beyond reality...he'd have to learn to be the grounded and composed one instead of being the angry, hormonal, stupid mess he usually is. Besides, with Luna taken, that frees Ron right up for Hermione...

Jul 12 2004, 07:01 PM
Well, I guess I can put my say in this...
Harry/Luna is by far, my favorite couple. I love Luna. She isn't ditzy at all, she's just a day-dreamer. She believes in so many crazy things, and is so unique and different from the rest.
A lot of people think Luna and Ron are going to end up together, but let's face it. Luna, even though dreamily obsessed over Ron, doesn't show much proof that she likes him.
Yes, yes. She does look dreamily at him, laugh at his jokes, sing 'weasly is our king' under her breath while sipping her cocktail, and call him by his full name. But Luna is strange like that. And how would you know just because she calls him 'Ronald' that it automatically means she fancies him? I'm not saying that they wont end up together, but I doubt it..I mean, Ron is the only one with a nickname in the book, besides Percy who is sometimes called 'Perce' but Luna doesn't even know him... She could be weird enough just to call him by his first name, cause Lunas like that. Can you actually imagine her calling Ron, 'Ron'? I can't...not really.
Anyway, back to the subject. Luna and Harry share a special bond. And if you notice, he wasn't too keen on talking to anyone else about Sirius's death except for Lunas. He didn't want to talk about it with Dumbledore, or Hermione, or Ron.. And those are the closest people he knows, he seems only Aquantied (S/P?) with Luna...
It's definitely a 99.9% chance that they will become good friends.
With her, Harry will have someone who he can talk to her about. Luna calms him, if you remember what Book 5 says exactly, It says that he feels better after talking to her.
Luna would be good with Harry. As many state: "To overcome the evil of Lord Voldemort, Harry must first overcome his own emotional problems."
The death of Sirius could kill Harry in that area of improvement. But Luna calms him, and makes him feel better. She can easily help him with his problem, in that area....
So yes, I agree with most Luna/Harry shippers, I think they'd be awfully cute together and I can't wait to see how the relationship progresses in the near future.

the only clue that i see for them two is the ability to talk about death and sirius. but i dont think that they will get together (my opinoin)

This is the first time I've posted on here! I'm so glad there's a whole topic devoted to a Harry/Luna ship. Ever since the first time I read OotP I've thought that the only person Harry could really connect with is Luna. I don't have any "proof", but, with everything that he went through with Cho, I really feel that if he ever fell in love with ANYONE, it would be someone he could find something in common with. I really think that what Harry needs, more than anything, is someone he believes can understand what he's gone through.
Expecto-Patronum!
Jul 13 2004, 04:56 AM
I think that Harry will end up with Ginny, if anyone, since he is so fond of the Weasleys..
As for luna.. i think she'll stay single since she is sort of batty, but she could end up with Neville.. she has stuff in common with him too...
I think that Hermione and Ron will end up together for sure... its obvious what with the way Rons jealous of Krum and they fight like an old married couple

Just to clarify all my ships: Harry/Luna, Ginny/Neville, Ron/Hermione.
And I don't think Luna is as ditzy as people think she is. She must be very smart to be in Ravenclaw, and talented, besides that, to enchant that Lion hat to ROARRRRR!!! She lives in her own world but, then again, so does Dumbledore, and he's the most powerful wizard in the world. I think people shouldn't underestimate those that move to the beat of their own drum.
Peace,
