i have a cell phone and almost all of my friends have tem too. who had one here? i made this randomly!

Yep, I sure do. I've had one for years.....I remember them when they first became popular. Huge, brick-like things they were that you used to have to wave around to find a signal, looking like a right prat at the same time!!

Wouldn't be without it now though. I'm always texting. I love mine to bits...HP wallpaper on it, plays Hedwig's theme....and I got Splinter Cell on it when I'm bored!!

Nope I don't have one. I use my mom's if I'm going somewhere and have to call for a ride or money or something (because pay phones never seem to work) I like those text messaging ones and I love to listen to all of my friend's funny ringtones.

i don't have a cell phone, my mom was going to buy me one but i was like no thank you 'cause i thought i didn't need it and would just be a waste of money... ( i know you probably think i'm crazy!) well now i kind of need it to call my mom or dad to pick up and stuff but i don't need it to make personal calls like some people... but i do feel kind of bad sometimes when i ask someone to use their phone like everyday.... i would get annoyed... maybe i should get a cell? i don't know?

i have a cell i love it cause iam a chatty person and because i need cause i used to get loads of calls from my friends when i didnt have one and i talk for hours so my folks got me one its really cool i have two one with a camera and a another that used to be my old one but i use that one just in case the other one runs out of batterys and all thanks by my mom because iam always never home and she likes to check on me 24/7 lol yes cells are part of my life i even use them in class and lunch time when i want to talk to my friends that dont have my lunch peroid or they are not in my class peroids but i put in i put it on vibrate or my fav text mesaging i do get in trouble for it but what can they do about it lol

It's crazy to see the youngest people have cell phones. The craziest story I've heard so far is where a fourth grade boy gets a cell phone while his seventh grade sister doesn't. First, why is the younger sibling getting the cell phone? (He gets send to school, no bus or anything) Second, this boy is in fourth grade?! Who else are you going to call except your mum. A waste of minutes and money if you ask me. . .

Anyway, yes, I have a cell phone. My aunt broke my phone while I was in California. Erm, you could say she "drowned" my cell phone. In her purse, a water bottle was knocked over without her noticing and my phone was just floating there. . .I had to have a prototype/used phone for around a month and I got my new phone two weeks ago. It has nice ring tones and has color. But my old colorless one had games! You can't get everything I suppose.

No cell phones are allowed in school, so you can either sneak a call in the bathroom (but the Dean makes check-ups, she's not afraid to visit the men's room. . .) Text messages will have to be in secret too. Cell phones start to get annoying when they ring in public, especially a movie! You don't know how much information you can gather from the lives of several people by just staying on a train for twenty minutes. . .

I have to be very frugal and save my minutes. Once you get used to it, if you leave without it, you feel naked. I'm serious! That's what happened when my phone "drowned".

Oh, I dunno....I don't see how they can improve really. I mean, I can see that cellphones are better than beepers...you could see that it's better to be able to speak to the person directly rather than have to go look for a phone to return the page. Other than portable video-phones, or holographic interaction things, I don't see how they can improve much more really. Although greater signal coverage would be nice.... ...(You hearing this?? T-Mobile, Orange and Vodafone??? Get some more relay stations up!!!)

I don't see why schoolkids really need the phones in school....it's nice to have them when they're out - especially for the parents - because it saves them having to worry if you're late home for some reason. It only takes two seconds to call your mom and tell her that you missed the last bus home or something and saves her having heart failure when you're still not home an hour after you said you would be....

My cell is a lifeline though...my route from uni to home goes through quite a lot of deserted countryside and if my car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, at least I know I can always get hold of someone or ring to say I'm going to be late home. Plus, my campus is so huge that if my mates and I have different lectures or something, they can text me to let me know where they are and vice versa.

I don't get the point of using them at school (of course its againist the law to use them in school here, so that might be why). But they are dead handy if your going someplace and need to call if your going to be late (or if you have to borrow a few dollars...). But my mother doesn't see the point in me owning one so instead I use hers when I go out (or when I go on walks now, because I don't always come back in time, and then she goes nuts over what she thought could have happened to me or whatever). I guess I don't really need one but I use them a lot during the school year (I'm in the band so: The bus didn't show up, I need a ride to the sports game, I need a ride home from the sports game, I need a ride home from the festival, I ran out of money. Can i borrow some? Can I go over to Emily's with Micheal after the event is over?, etc. I always seem to be calling my mother too...)

i started off having this really basic flip fone (no color, no downloads, nothin special) then i asked my dad when i can get a color one and 2 weeks later he got me one (i feel like a spoiled brat) then my mom got the old one

I adore my cell phone (Samsung SGH-E715), not only because it saves me from the worst situations (when my mother can't contact me, she goes ballistic and I get reprimanded...which is hell for me).

I take the schoolbus home, and it takes me an hour to get home. I sleep on the bus, and I usually miss my stop x_x Sometimes it's just a few blocks away, but there were several occasions where I'm like 9 stops too late. I used my cell and called her and she told me how to get back home.

I have really bad service though...

Nearly every friday, I do spontaneous planning for afterschool hang outs, so having my cell is handy.

Another reason why I love my cell phone is because it's a camara phone. Candid pictures anyone? hehehe...Mine can store up to 500 pictures, and I already have 50 (I just got it in July too). Text messaging, reading the news, and games saves me from boredom most of the time. I also have a handy flashlight, which can also blind you for a few seconds xD

As much I love my cell phone though, I tend to scratch, drop and lose it. You see all these scratch marks all over the place, and I only had for a couple of months too. Worst time to drop is when you're trying to catch your bus by running across a busy street while it's raining....happened to me three times >_>

My 12 year old sister has a cell phone...and it's much prettier than mine ::pouts::. But she actually uses it, and since she's such a social butterfly, you can hear someone calling her every 3 hours. That and I tend to call her whenever she's not home while I'm worried. The thing is that I didn't get my first cell phone until I was 14 =\

We're not allowed to use or show them during school, but no one cares. People flaunt their cell phones on their pants pocket while walking on the halls, or even calling one another during passing. Some even call their friends during class (but their head is against the table to hide the fact that they're calling someone).

I wish I had a cell-phone. That totally sucks, but my mom says I can have one someday, which I wish it would happen VERY soon!

Yes I have one, it´s pretty useful when I´m bored somewhere, and I stat playing the games, specially snake, it´s quite interesting, and my cell is blue with kind of a stripe white near the screem, something like that!

i have a cell phone but over here we call it a mobile phone. it's really cool it's a prepaid and my phone company is so cool. they give away credit when another company has some sort of deal on, 1 time i got $200 of credit and it had too be used in a month it was so cool i was just ringing and texting ppl non stop. i love my phone i don't know what i would do without it, it goes everywhere with me.

I have a 'cell phone' but over here in Australia we call it a mobile phone..Just one of those little differences... It has a camera and looks pretty cool. I made it a cover ~its one of those ones with a clear case and paper goes underneath...anyway.. thats not the point. Phones here are pretty cheap, but expensive at the same time. Prepaid credit just goes on nothing...

Oh, yeah, kreacher...like in my place, we call it handphone. Or handset... oh, and having a built-in camera in it would be awesome. I wish mine had...I'm using prepaid as well. It's really down to your frequency of using it. If it's only just occasionaly, then prepaid is the best. However, if you're using it often, then post-paid is cheaper...

Prepaid cost me around 45 to 60 cents per minute for calls but it doesn't have any monthly fee. So, unless you're using it, you don't have to pay anything. Unlike post-paid, which cost around 10 to 15 cents per minute but puts 30 dollar as monthly fee. So, it's how much you're using it that matter...errr...well, I know it would be different in your country but I thought I'd explain in case you don't know the difference...

The camera is alright, but the actual picture is really blurry. I heard that you can get them printed at the Kodak shop so off I go. It's useful if you see something that words can't describe. I sort of wish I had a normal phone because all my friends borrow it and take useless photos which I have to delete. Errr as well as a lot of my type of phone get stolen quite easily... Call rates are roughly the same around this neck of the woods. I'm thinking about postpaid (or Pay as you go)

It's a nokia 3100. about a year old, that little one with no camara. I had a samsung V200....it's just not worth it. I sold it to my mum.

I got a cell phone this year for college. I only use it when I need to, though. I'm not one to use up minutes on unnecessary calls.

Yes, I have but it's not the latest unit. It is actually one of the oldest model of Nokia but not the big ones. The unit of my cell is 5210. Well, it is a hand-me-down cell because it was my father's then he gave it to me last 2003.

But for me, the unit/model of my cell phone is not important. As long as I can use it to communicate, it's ok with me. I'm just using it for texting...

i use it for texting, taking pictures and videoing and recording. i also use it for receiving calls buti never call people because i use all my money up so quick and have to use my free texts!

Man, so many people around here have a cell phone! Even the younger ones. I also have a cell phone for text messaging and the standard use of it; reaching people when I need them (I'm seventeen btw). I guess no one who's going to university can live without one. The looks of my phone is not important for me, as long as it works decently and fits into my pocket it's okay.

It's handy that some of you comment your age with your post, it's interesting for me to see of which age all of you are. I am kinda shocked by the young age some people get there first cell phone, in our country they're actually advertising for "child mobils" it's specially engaged for children between 6 and 10. I got my first cell phone when I was 14, and that was because I had to cycle an hour to my school and had a flat tire often.

my phone is a siemans, i don't really like it, but it still lets me ring , text, take photos etc. but i seriously need to get a new one! and all i need to do is convince my parents why i need a new one!
