just wondering what house was dumbledore in???

I'm not a hundred percent sure on this, but there is most likely a thread somewhat like this. Oh well...Anyways, I'm pretty sure that DUmbledore was in Gryffindor, but don't quote me on it.

Silence Dogood was correct, DD was indeed a Gryffindor. I think he was actually head of Gryffindor House before he was Headmaster.

It's about time I was right on something! haha...It wouldn't surprise me one bit if he was the Head of Gryffindor House, it makes sense.

Dumbledore was in Gryffindor. In one of the books Dumbledore says something about burning the curtain thingymabobs because he got tired of their scarlet colour. I also believe that he was Head of Gryffindor, just like samsmom said.

I think he was in gryffindor, he wouldn't have been in hufflepuff, and he wouldn't be in slythrin but there is a possibility he was in ravenclaw but i think his bravery would have put him in gryffindor.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was in the books, or I just read it somewhere but yeah Dumbledore was in Gryffindor then was Head of Gryffindor while he was the transfiguration teacher. Am I right?

Um, I think we've about covered it, but I just want to write a mantra for something, so I will. Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore was indeed a Gryfindor, many many long years ago. Since then he has been many things, most notably Headmaster of Hogwarts for some of the most difficult times that school has ever, and will ever see. Before, he was the Head of Gryfindor House under Headmaster Dippet, during the First opening of the Chamber of Secrets. He taught Trangfiguration, along with other things by and by. He died, leaving him D-E-D, dead. He was proceeded by Headmaster Minerva McGonagall, who herself was Head of Gryfindor House, and the Transgifuration teacher to young Mister Potter, he himself who was a student of Gryfindor House, son of two former children of Gryfiindor House, in a long line of talent passed down from Godric Gryfindor, one of the original Founders of the school, who... Ok, that's long enough. Gee, wasn't that fun?

Dumbledor was in Gryffindor, he said so in the Goblet of fire to harry while in the dormatories at the end. Explaining that as a young gryffindor student he had always hated those curtains on the bed so he set them on fire.

this is a good topic to be discussing. if i were probably to take a guess - i think dumbledore could either have been in ravenclaw or gryffindor. dumbledore has courage & he's brave, but he's also smart, wise & he has better brain skill then any other headmaster/headmistress hogwarts has ever had! another thing is that he's the only one voldemort ever feared!

I definately think that DD was in Gryffindor, but I don't ever remember reading about him burning the curtains. I think that was in the movie, which isn't always correct.

yep im 112% sure that dumbledore was in gryfindore. I had always presumed and thought he must have been in gryfindor until jk told us in GOF (some one said he told us in book 1, i must have missed that)

He was definitly in Gryffindor

At the end of GOB he told Harry (In the dormitory) that he hated the curtains and that he accidently set them on fire in his 4th year. So he was in Codrics house

Dumbledore was in Gryffindor... It says so in Sorcerer's Stone, I think Hermione said she wants to be in Gryff because she read that Dumbledore himself was in it.

I am 100% sure Dumbledore was in Grifendore..cause in harry potter book one when hagrid talking about houses he said Grifendor is the best..The greatest wizard of all time Dumbledore was in Grifendore too.

Wouldn't it be ironic if he was a Slytherin? That would be quite the twist. However, all logic would lead us to believe that Dumbledore was in fact a member of the Gryffindor house. In the 4th film he says that he burned the drapes on the fourth poster bed in that very dormitory.. I doubt JKR would allow such an error to be in the script if there wasnt some truth in it.

I believe it was Hagrid (correct me if I'm mistaken) who informed Harry that Dumbledore was in Gryffindor.

I remember too the part in the Goblet of Fire movie when Dumbledore said he set the drapes on fire in his schooling, however it's possible that was added for humor without actual thought or basis being put into it.

i rekon he would be griffindor but he could be in ravenclaw because he was very smart as a student

DD was a griffindor, it was stated before that he studied in griffindor then was head of griffindor while he was transifugation teacher as well(like Mc Gon.). we saw that in CoS i think.
but i'm still not 100% sure

i remember hermione once saying somthing about him being in gryffindor. my brother says he assumed he was because gryffindor is the cool house.

He was clearly in Gryffindor house, there are many signs..
First and foremost he possessed the only relic of Gryffindor (the sword) and I don't think it's very possible for someone to own such a treasure for so long without belonging to the house on which it was. If you think about it he mentions the burning of the curtains in the Dormitory so you have to assume it were the curtains that were in the Gryffindor dormitory. When everybody says he was head of Gryffindor House, I have to agree, I think it is a hugee possibility that he was in that position.
