Ok i found this website with a petition for an International harry Potter Day. Please can you sign it and tell everyone you know to sign it and hopefully there will be 1 million signitures by july 21st.

Oooh sounds like a great idea. I would love to see an International Harry Potter Day, but what would it entail!? Everyday for me is a Harry Potter Day!! LOL. Perhaps we can push to make it a holiday where we get off school/work or something! (completely ridiculous idea, I know )

Same here. If i dressed up as any HP character, they'd just be "Who are you?" I laugh at them, they don't appriciate the fine workings of JKR that is Harry Potter.

I'm not sure if HP would become a public holiday (hough it would be cool) When would it be, 21/7/07? I'd dress up as Luna. She rocks.

The pixel, for those who dont know, is for the mural they have on the site. For every signature for the petition you are assigned a pixel. The mural is most likely 1,000,000 pixels and thus will be complete when their goal of one million votes is met.

Once again Professor Dumbledore has explained something I didn't know. I had also received that pixel email and I was wondering if it was supposed to be junk or not.

Alright, SeriouslySerious, I'll try to explain it a bit better. Every picture on a computer or the internet is made up of pixels. These pixels are a single color and make a picture when tons of those pixels are put together. The goal for the International Harry Potter Day is one million votes. So the creators of the site have a "mural" or a picture that is made up of one million pixels. Each time someone votes for the Internation Holiday, a single pixel is sent to them representing their vote. Once the picture is complete, it will signify that one million votes have been achieved. There really is no purpose for it, its just something nice and fun that the creators wanted to do. You can see the mural by clicking the "Mural" link at the top of the site.

hey i just wanted to let everyone know that sometimes the validation e mail goes into your junk email folder so just make sure you check there. also in some email things it empties the junk email folder every day or so (it does on mine anyway) so just make sure you validate it before it gets deleted!

I just signed the petition! I think it would be cool to have an International HP day. Ok when it comes to dressing up I'd have to go all out in my Slytherin garb, and I even have the tattoo to match. It looks so cool, It's the Slytherin House Crest with the Serpent in the middle of it, with Slytherin etched across the top...So yeah I'd have to dress up as the Slytherin "Bad Girl" lol

I signed it, and told my other friends to do the same. They aren't really Potterheads like us, but I'm really proud to say that they signed it too. Obviously, it seems pretty fun to them if ever this petition is granted once this petition reached 1M before July 21st. I'm still going to spread the word though. This petition is way better than that "Save Harry" petition, asking JKR to continue writing Harry Potter books. I think that's being disrespectful.

That would be such a fun holiday, I would love it, I would have like a huge party where you had to come dressed as a HP character and we would eat cauldron cakes and pumpkin pasties and bertie botts every flavour beans I hope they get a HP day!! Okay, I've signed it. I'm not sure such a day will exist. But I hope it will be a holiday day where everything HP is free and where there is a great bal for every fan of HP. All waltzing...

They should have like a Yule Ball type for HP fans, like say have competitions, or buy tickets or something to go the 'The Yule Ball' like you could have one in London for Britain and other places around the world.

I just signed. I think it would be kinda cool to have a day that is all about Harry. I don't think we would need to have a day off from school or work, but I think it would be good to have a day for those to celebrate the stories. I mean, think about how much they have meant to so many people. As fans we have put a lot of who we are into these characters. I think for all the people that love HP there should be a day for them to show just how much.

Not enough people signed it for July 21st this year but the petition is still open so we can hopefully get 1 million by next July 21st.

Please do as much as you can to help. Harry POtter deserves a day dedicated to it because it got kids onto reading and I know that we could get enough people to sign it but not enough people know about it. JK Rowling has put in so much time and effort to make the Harry Potter books a big hit with not only children but adults too.The books have managed to unite contries all over the world to discuss their favourite characters,scenes and theories keeping us on our toes for so long. It's been great growing up with Harry and being with him every step of the way as he over comes the evil and sorrow in his life. She has high lighted the things that really matter in this life which are love for others and to fight for what is right.She has premoted reading as being an exciting and enjoyable experience and I would like to thank her for sharing her idea of Harry Potter and his world with us. I like many other fans thing that she is frankly ....A LEGEND!

I signed it too! I was so excited to hear about an international HP day. I think that a yule ball would be way fun! Maybe they could have a HP movie marathon at the movie theaters, or on tv. And they could do readings of the books at libraries and book stores. However, I really doubt that schools would make it a school holiday and kids wouldn't have to go to school. And I really don't think work places would let people take the day off.

Today! i really hope it happens!!! i would celebrate it by dressing up in a Harry Potter costume and going out,, or by reading one of the Harry Potter book(possible the first one-- because thats where it all started --- or the last because that were the series ended-- but not in my heart!!), or all of them! (maybe not in one day, but starting on that day, and reading a bit each day till i finished) or i would go to a coffee shop, because thats were JKR started writing the books-- in a coffee shop.
