Any one like it? It was my favorite show.
musta
It's ok. Though I haven't watched it for a long time.
Princess_Hermione
I don't like that show. I have cousins and a couple of friends who like it, but not me! dry.gif
Amyrat151
OMG, people posted. I just love this show, the quote in my avie is from Buffy.
ADV
The show is cool...
Amyrat151
Yeah, I wacthed since the first eposide a way long time ago. I was never a big shipper of anything really, expect Buffy/Angel. I was never to keen on Spike.
yue chan
I watched only the early eposides of Buffy. I couldn't watch the rest because it was on at my bed time. But I did like Spike, I think he's cuter than Angel.
Amyrat151
I find that kinda funny since I started to wacth wacth it when I was only 7, but I had no bedtime.
brkn promises x
I used to love to watch this show. I haven't watched it in a while though. I even did a report on vampires last year. I found out a lot about the disease that makes people have vampire like symtoms. WHen does Buffy give on T.V? dry.gif
Amyrat151
I just got 7th season on dvd. But no one seems to care, so I'll let this thread die now.
Layla_Black
Like it? No way!

I LOVE IT! CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT! tongue.gif

Miss_Moonstone
Aw, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. What a classic. TV just isn't the same without that show.

I am proud to geekly admit that i have all 7 seasons on DVD tongue.gif ...
Emeline

mioneweasley_witch

its got good action but i dont get that shes beaten; the master, angel, the mayor, adam, glory, willow, the first, and still gets punched by normal vampires.
HermioneJane916
I was watching Buffy the other day and Buffy said something that reminded me so much of HP. It was something that I could see Harry saying to Ron and Hermione during or after the fifth book, especially during his emotional phase in OoTP. Here's the quote:

" It is always different! It's always complicated. And at some point, someone has to draw the line, and that is always going to be me. You get down on me for cutting myself off, but in the end the slayer is always cut off. There's no mystical guidebook. No all-knowing council. Human rules don't apply. There's only me. I am the law."

Now, you would have to change the word slayer to hero, but it fits. Of course, if Harry did say this, it would seem quite self-centered, but as observers, we know that he's the hero and that it will come down to him in the end. It seems that all heros go through the same type of realization phase where they come to terms with the fact that they're on their own. So for all of you who think Dumbledore's coming back, I'm sorry, the hero is always alone in the end.

wow, i used to love buffy when it was on, my week wasnt complete if i hadnt seen Buffy!

I havent got around to getting all the dvd's, not yet anyway! its on my to do list!

HermioneJane916, your so right, i never even thought of that, but i think thats even more poetic now in the post HBP age. He is the one, the chosen one, and the similarities are really quite strong. What if JKR does what Joss whedon did in season 5, Buffy dies to save the world. It could happen with our little hero. But im getting way of topic now, so i'll do a quick U-turn before anyone notices!

The thing that annoyed me in the last season, was how the first time Buffy met an uber vampire she got thoroughly beaten down. yet when she has the axe, she doesnt, she's the one doing the kicking, and the rest of the scooby gang, who dont have the axe dont get kicked the same way she did. But there you go, there were a few inconsistencies throughout the series, it still rocked though!
Ygraine
What season was that HermioneJane?

I am a bit of a Buffy Addict...I have all the eppisodes on Video, and sevn seaons? That's a lot of buffy.

I love Spike hehehe...

Personally i don't really see Harry saying that, he's not arrogant and he doesn't really (well in OotP) know that he has to kill Voldemort. I think it would be better suited in book 7 when he knows what he has to do and there's no DD to help him.

I know what you mean in the last season. The thing i don't get was how she killed The First? Um...can't take Corporeal form how did that axe thing cut through it...then again it was rather magical... Yeah how on earth did Andrew of all people manage to kill a few uber vamps. I like it when he said 'Think of happy things...Bunnies...'

and anya snarls 'Bunnies, cute hoppity little bunnies' and kills loads of uber vamps

I think my iTunes can read mines or something!!! The buffy theme's just come on. it did this the other day as well. rolleyes.gif

Come on who didn't cry at the end? I bawled my eyes out for hours i reckon.

Yeah with the end of seaon 5 i can see Harry doing that too smile.gif *wipes tear away*
Lovely Traces
HermioneJane916, I can totally see Harry saying something along those lines to Ron and Hermione.

However, I don't really think that heros are alone in the end. I think that it is their friends that get them through tough situations. Buffy had Xander, Willow, and Dawn (plus Spike, some close potentials, and Anya). Harry has his friends too, he may have to fight the battle but Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, and Luna are there to give him support.
Eaglefeather
Awww, I loved Buffy and I still do. I started watching it during season 4, and after season 7 was over I bought season 1, 2 and 3 on DVD so I could watch them too. I'm planning on buying the 4 last seasons too, when I can afford it. I just loved the dialoges, and the puns. I've always loved puns, I think they're hilarious when they're done well biggrin.gif

Well, that wasn't really the first was it? It was just the essence of it or something... I mean, didn't Caleb just get some power from the first... Unless there's something I'm forgetting from the last episode now... It's been a while since I saw it... The axe was supposed to give her some extreme power to help her I think... If I remember correctly that is... But yeah...

Oh, and I cried at the end too. My friend was looking at me strangely, and I was like how can you not think it's sad? tongue.gif I also taped it, so I've got the tape of the last episode until the time I can afford season 7.

And Harry could say that yeah... Both Buffy and Harry were destined to save the world or die... Aww. It's good that they've got their friends as Lovely Traces pointed out biggrin.gif smile.gif
Spider22
the jokes are very funny in buffy but in the end i think the spin off Angel has far more style

I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I love all the charatcers they are so well created and devised. I really enjoy watching the fight scenes in the episodes they are so cool and quick. I like the relationship between Giles and Buffy its so like a daughter-father relationship. I liked the episode 'Once More with Feeling'. I'd admit it was werid to watch but the songs stayed in my head for about a week! laugh.gif biggrin.gif
K.Lupin_werewolf
oh i loved buffy! it was sort-of real life with an other-worldly twist. what i mean is the things that the characters went through (putting aside saving the wolrd) were genuine. Xander is a great character, the things he says are funny lol and sometimes he just says the most obvious of things but you have to laugh anyway. Giles is one of my favourite characters because he's intelligant and well another favourite character of mine is Willow.
i love all the action, all the fighting! and i am into all the vampires and werewolves and deomens etc lol i just love it!
Harry_Ginny777
FINALLY...i have been gone for about 2-3 months and someone put up a thread about Buffy. woot yay woot, i love this show Spike is awesome and OZ is just great. but i love alyson hannigan and sarah michelle gellar, they are both so pretty. and i love the show angel which is a spin off of buffy it is really good but thank you for putting this up smile.gif
Seriouslysirius
Well i don't know much about Buffy the Vampire slayer. But it's a shame because when i get to see the episodes they look really good.

I want to watch it from the start..

I love fighting and vampires so i really want to see them all.
Amyrat151
You very much welcome Harry_Ginny777.
It's so awsome that people are posting here now, I thought it would just die away.
I still love Buffy more than anything I have ever read or wacthed, sometimes I hope, and don't, at the same time that I'll find something I like better.
Someone said Harry and Buffy are alike, I have to say duh with a capital D! It seems to me that they could of come from the same mind, them and Peter Parker, anyone ever notice how Buffy-like he is. He's like the only super hero character ever that had more going on in his comics than whatever super villian trying to kill him or take over, in Spider-Man's case, New York. He had more problems than that. So did Buffy, so does Harry.
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall
I'm so glad theres a Buffy thread, can't believe I haven't seen it here before! I've just finished watching season seven on dvd for the first time since I saw it on tv which was a long time ago. It's still as awesome as I remember it though. Spike is really likeable in seventh series I think...but I still don't agree with what he tried to do to Buffy before he got his soul. Andrew really did have me cracking up everytime he was in it too.
Also, a question that came to me, did Buffy mean it when she told Spike she loved him? It looked to me that when she saw Angel and said something like 'It would be years if anything' and he replied 'I'm not getting any older' that it would be Angel she would want when she was ready.
Anyway, the whole of the seven seasons were just amazing. I did see the start of the show Angel, it was ok but then it got taken off tv in the UK for some reason...
Amyrat151
Hmm, well I liked the show Angel as well, but not as much as Buffy. I know some people who were really into it, but for the most part, I thought the series was ok. My love for Angel died when they killed Fred, after that I was pretty much just wacthing it to see it through to the end.
I think that Buffy did mean it when she said that she loved Spike, but she didn't love him like he wanted to be loved by her, if that makes sense.
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall
Well cheers for clearing that up, I think I know what you mean by that. It makes more sense to me now. Also in the final episode Buffy get's stabbed...maybe I'm just unobservant but did that heal somehow? Because then afterwards she jumps over all those buildings and I'm thinking that would hurt lol. Knowing me I probably missed something, I'm a little slow!
Amyrat151
No she's just Buffy, being big scary magical warrior, she's able to get up from being stabbed, I guess the knife didn't hit any major organs rolleyes.gif. As much as I love Joss Whedon, I think that he kind of droped the ball on that.
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall
Yeah, me too. Really should of thought that one out a bit more, but I guess she is Buffy so jumping over buildings after getting stabbed doesn't seem so strange after she died a couple times and came back happy.gif
I also do see the comparisons of Buffy and Harry Potter. When I was watching it the thought sprang to mind alot. Just like Xander, Buffy and Willow lived hopefully it will be the same for Harry, Ron and Hermione but I really don't know. I hated that Xander lost his eye though, could they not somehow get it back by magic someday?
Amyrat151
Yeah that was gross too, and they would always show it when they did previews from that last couple of episodes. I don't know, you'd think though wouldn't you that they would be able to fix it some how.
I've seen the comparision of characters before, I swear, Ron reminds me of Xander so much that sometimes it's scary.
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall
Yeah they did didn't they, I was thinking...how many times I gotta see Xander lose an eye?! Who knows, maybe they will eventually be able to fix it. I thought about the Xander/Ron comparison at certain times too, I suppose they are both characters who can provide comedy in serious situations. They are both very important and I doubt Harry could have worked without Ron just as Buffy couldn't have worked without Xander.
Seriouslysirius
Yay! I've just finished watching an episode of Buffy finally. Iy was when Chiles becomes a Demon. It was really good i'm going to watch it as often as possible now. I love the action sequences.
It's great.
Amyrat151
Yes, the episode is called "A New Man" Dan, I can't think who wrote it just know, it might of been Jane or David...hmmm. I know all the episode names, and I know who wrote most of the episodes, I liked Buffy long before Harry Potter, so I sort of compare it to everything, Buffy. And you know when Buffy was over, I didn't cry for the end, so I know I won't cry because I'm sad Harry Potter is over.

A new man oh.. Well i would hardly say a new man more like a new Demon.. laugh.gif

I like Buffy because i love all the demons in it. Plus i love the action sequences there freat.

Oh and the actors are great as well.
Amyrat151
Yeah, it's a whole bunch of greatness. I never had a favorite character ever, nor do I have a favorite episode. I'll be thinking "Becoming is my favorite, no Hush, no Once more with Feeling, no Chosen, no Storyteller, no Bad Girls..." this goes on forever.

*bump*

aww i miss this show! they should do a dawn-spinoff.

I love spike lol just thought to let everyone know.

I'm breathing life into this life into this again. I don't know about a Dawn spin-off, espically now that she's a gaint. Has anyone else been keeping track of the series in the comic books, which is the series's 8th season?
Dementoid1
I LOVE the show, but I must admit, I wasn't ecstatic when they announced that Buffy was going to be a comic book series, as I would much rather see the actual actors on the screen, but oh well, I'm sort of ok with it now. I'm hoping it's going to have the same humour etc. from the programme. I will eventually get round to buying them! smile.gif

So, Amyrat what's going on in it, you say Dawn's a giant? huh.gif What's that all about?
Lily_Potter
I used to really like Buffy The Vampire Slayer, but then that whole thing with the Initiative and then Buffy hooking up with Spike really turned me off. I like the original episodes where Buffy and Angel where pining over each other and Willow was pining over Xander who was in love with Cordelia. And Spike and Dru were wreaking havoc in Sunnyville. Those where the good ol' days....
Dementoid1
It was cool that they all had a reunion at the Paley Fest.
I think it would be great if they did decide to do a movie. It's a shame Sarah's not really into it anymore.
I mean, loads of people would love to see all the actors back again, wouldn't they?
I know I would! biggrin.gif
etphonehome
They really should get on the whole resurgence of the vampire thing with Twilight being so huge at the moment. I loved the early Buffy when she was totally in love with Angel and like Lily_Potter says, when Spike was causing grief in Sunnyville with Drusilla.

I sometimes watch re-runs of Angel but now he's in Bones, he's all too grown up.

I agree, it's a shame that Sarah doesn't want anything to do with it anymore, it made her what she is...I mean she wouldn't have been in Scooby Doo without Buffy rolleyes.gif
lupin<3tonks
I use to love Buffy The Vampire Slayer! Back when Dawson's Creek was on! I loved both those shows in middle school, that was like what 1997!? Ten years ago! Oh my!

Whats this about Xander's eye out?! And Dawn (isn't that Buffy's little sister?) is a giant??

I stopped watching the episodes pretty much after Buffy's mother died and Dawn was around. I heard she hooked up with Spike...thought that was a little weird but it wouldn't have bothered me. I loved Spike!

I, too, Lily Potter miss the good old days. When they were in high school and Buffy was in love with Angel and Spike was being Spike and Willow liked Xander (I was rooting for them) and then she fell in love with Oz(I ended up loving this relationship). Rememeber Oz was a werewolf?! And Cordelia was the queen of the school and she depised Buffy but somehow she ended up becoming a part of the Scooby gang?

My favorite episode was when Xander got turned into (more or less) a hyena. That will always be my favorite! Oh and the one where the teacher was a praying mantis and she was after Xander. Poor guy....always getting picked on. Oh and I liked Xander and the girl he was suppose to marry...I can't remember her name but she was funny! They had good chemistry!
Fairy
I have to say, I recently started watching this and I really like it, i'm currently up to Season 4 (Episode 5 to be precise!).

However, a few years back, my 'best friend' made me watch Seasons 5 - 7 all in one night, non stop and I hated it!

However, my boyfriend talked me into watching it, and I was like "Hmm fine, but I'll hate it!" and as it turns out, I love it =)

I can't stand the actual girl Buffy, she does my head in so much, but I love Spike and my favourite character was Dru, until she left (sad.gif) and then Faith (but she's gone :\) so it's currently Spike! When Buffy and Spike get engaged because of Willow's spell, ahh Giles' face was a picture!

Do they really get married?! Or engaged? Or does that simply happen because of Willow's spell? Does it ever get lifted?? So much I missed! I think I stopped watching after what? Season 3 or 4??

and then Faith (but she's gone :\)

Who was Faith?? Was she another slayer? Or am I way off base on this? Haha.

Willow accidentally casts a spell so that whatever she says comes true; Giles ends up going blind, Spike and Buffy 'fall in love' and get engaged and Xander has all the demons after him! This is all in one episode though, so near the end it lifts once they figure out how to do it tongue.gif

Yeah, Faith was another slayer throughout Season 3, but after she accidentally killed a man she went a bit nuts and joined the Mayor's side instead, fighting against Buffy.
lupin<3tonks
Ahh yes! Faith was Eliza Dushku!!! I remember all of that now!!! The one where Willow accidently puts the spell on the others, was that in Season 3? That sounds awfully familar! I have season 1, I haven't watched it all yet. I plan on doing on a lazy rainy day. I know though that the third episode, the one with the witch, won't play. So I'm kind of disappointed about that....but I'm obviously rambling right now so I'm gonna stop!
