Are you more exited about the 5th movie or the seventh book? I say book because I already know whats going to happen in the fifth movie, plus some more.
IM confused about how to put a poll on this and it wont let me on edit.

Sorry for the inconvience, Fiery Phoinex, here's the poll question you meant to post. There should be a red sentence above the reply box that says in part, "Create or edit topic poll..."
I agree with your sentiments in a nutshell, HP has been an obsession for several years and the shining moment rests
eight days after a movie release.

The movie will surely be another big moment for the fans; but for me once it hits midnight, chances are I won't remember the film much till mid-August.

I'm more excited about the Book. It's the end of an era. An Era that has spawned how many fansites? The movies are just money makers for WB, they're nothing special. But the book....it will prove some theories and scrap others. It will hold us on the edges of our seats waiting for the next big twist. It will have us talking for months, maybe years afterwards. It is the final step in a journey that has held us captivated for the last however many years. For me it's only been 7 years, 5 of which I have spent on this site. As much as I want it to end I dread the last chapter. Because that will be it. No more reading of Harry's exploits, no more wondering if Ron and Hermione will finally get together. It's the end.
The movies for me are just a way to see the story without spending days reading the books. They are a slight escape from the world when you need a magical hit. Sure I want to see what the OotP movie is like but it's a mild curiosity. The books have held me for years, they will always be my favourites.

Absolutely the book!! But I have to say this: because I am one of a very few people who think that there are 2 Snapes (a bad one in the book and a good one in the movies), I want to see the movies, too. The book is what I am really excited about because that is the true story. The story I fell into an obsession with so long ago now. I will be re-reading HP for many years.

Oh, the book, DEFINITELY!
I love the movies, I really do, but there's something more to the books. And I think it's J.K. Rowling's writing style that keeps me entranced. I can sometimes read a Harry Potter book for hours and finally realize that I haven't eaten supper. I am so, so, SO excited about the book!!!

I would say the book, simply because I know what happens in OoTP, but I really want to find out what happens in the end.

it has to be the book! no one in their right mind would be more excited about the film. the film will just be explored territory, edited, warped and americanised to contain a dozen sickly heart felt speaches that were never in the book (but dont get me wrong, i quite like the films really)
the book, however, will be unexplored territory, full of suprises and twists and conclusions and loose ends tied up and IM NEARLY SCREAMING THINKING ABOUT IT!!! no bodies waiting for the film....thats just something to keep us sustained for the few days we have to wait for the book. my copy is ordered, i shall be banging on the doors of WHSmith at precisely 1 minute to

I'm actually looking forward to both! I rather like the movies and I'm very excited to see OOTP! It looks awesome! But I am also looking forward to the book. I want to know all the answers to all the unanswered questions!!

i'm definately more excited about the book!! its the final one, the most important and will tell us everything we have been wondering about for years, how it will end, who will live and die!! i'm so excited! plus, i prefer the books to the films anyway, and i already know what will happen in the OOTP film whereas the book is a whole mistery and is the climax to the series!!

I am more excited about the book coming out. It is the end of the series, the end of all the adventures and excitement that has happened. It will gives us all the answers to our questions that we've had, all the mysteries. I simply cannot wait!!!

Oh without a doubt DH!
Once I get my hands on DH, and manage to read through it all, all of my questions will be answered.
With the movie, sure I'm thrilled for that as well, but it will be seeing something I've already read about, I want something new more!

DEFINITELY DEATHLY HALLOWS !!!!
We already know what happens in OOTP, we just get to see it on the big screen now.
I want to wrap up the all the mysteries and loose ends, and finally see what becomes of the magical world after Voldemort's reign.....

Deathly Hallows hands down.
It's the last HP book (sobs)

but I want to know what happens soooo bad. We've been waiting for a long time to find out everything.
Plus yeah the movies are good but not as good as the books.

I was much more excited for the book, and it really matched my expectations...
But we cannot say that the movie was the one most of Harry Potter fans were waiting for...
Both are amazing, the movie AND the book, but I wanted more the book than the movie, obviously!

Definately the book. I never thought I could feel this way about books, but Harry Potter made me think differently. It's just so amazing.

Deathy Hallows - 100% - no questions.
Theres so many limitaions to the films, and plus we already know what happens in the films because we've read the books. The books have the ability to draw you in for longer that two and a half hours, and you can let your imagination run wild. Plus it's the last book in the series *sighs in disappointment*.

Well I've seen/read both now...
But I was more excited about the book! Like it said in the first post you already know what's going to happen in the movie, except like what scenes will be cut, but you still know the outcome! Deathly Hallows was the last book, when so many of our questions would be answered
and we would finally find out Harry's fate!
Don't get me wrong, I was really looking forward to the film as well, but nothing compares to the excitement before DH!

exactly how I feel or.. think. The excitement of reading HarryPotter and
Not knowing what's going to happen occurs so rarely. Lol, I mean after rereading the book tons of times, it's hard to make myself forget what's next. So That and DH being the last book made the book WAY more exciting than the movie. The movies always cut things out and dissappoint even though I was excited enough to see it at the midnight opening.

Wow, what an overwhelming result!
Considering that I don't like the movies much and that I generally prefer reading... I am more excited about the book. Plus, this movie was so weak and I was so disappointed that I even doubted that I'll return to the story and read it's ending book... But of course I did.

I'd like reading the book. There was a lot of scenes taht were deleted in the movie. I hope that for Deathly hallows they can make the movie longer.
The movie is good for the special effects and the truo ofcourse.

Ok, as i have read the 7th book and have seen the 5th movie, i think i was more excited for the book than the movie. The Book was the last in series unlike the 5th movie. So I think thats why i was more excited for the book than the movie.

The book for sure!

I just love the books so much more than the movies. All of those small phrases of humor and those humorous emotions that's found in the books just aren't expressed through the movies. So the quality of the movies aren't anything like the books and so I would definitely vote for the books

I was more excited about DH, because it unfolds lots of secrets and answers to the mysteries that had me hanging. The movie, I was anxious because it had lots of new stuff and interesting things, and you always wonder how will they make it, but DH ... I will remember it forever, the best book, and the only one that will pull tears out of me.
