Hey i was bored and wanted to start a topic some time maybe this week I'm going to send a letter to Dan. please tell me if you've sent one to him and got a reply or even sent one and someone else replied

I sent two..It was in 2005..I sent one with a poem and the other one with my frnd.We didn't get his reply though.It's because he recieves alsmost 500 letters everyday that he can only see a few letters.I don't know if you'll get one back..He'll send a newsletter signed by him and a latest photo of him.That's all.

Well, the thing is , like Phoenix92 said, he gets so many letters a day. And hes usually very busy. At the moment he has the Equus play every day ( well most, i dont know the timing) and then he'll have his Order of the phoenix movie premiere. Probably after that he'll start filming for the half blood prince. He most likely wont reply to your letter, but i suppose a factor to try and getting it read is making it stand out from all the other letters of fan mail. Perhaps you could have brightly decorated envelope or something like that. If you do get a reply though, tell me so then i can send him a letter lol.

Ya i probably wont get a reply but hey its worth a try and I'm going to make an envelope with a drawing that I drew and it has questions in it about hp in it

I don't know WHERE i saw it/read it, but I remebering seeing that filming for Half-Blood Prince will start in September. But for the life of me I can't remember where i saw it!!!! ><!! I'm sorry! But yeah Dan's a busy guy this year, so are Emma and Rupert too of course! God i'm happy they all signed....now if only tom felton would too....lol!!! i can only hope. Oh yeah have you guys seen the new trailer?!?!?

I sent two letters to Dan I think in 2005 or 2006 around Fall or Spring, and he replyed back within 2-3 months for me and he sent a picture from when he was in Australia shooting the December Boys movie

he was basically talking about what he was doing, like he just finished making December Boys and that he was starting OOTP and he talked about the lady that would be playing Umbridge in the movie, and his interests and the movies that he liked....

Wow,gryffindorwitch,that's very interesting!You are lucky!I sent him a letter a long time ago and he answered quite fast.He sent me an autograph and a typed letter which he was sending to everyone.Anyway,I was very excited!At least,he wrote my address in the envelope himself.

That is exiting gryffindorwitch I'm beginning to actually think i might get a reply no I'm kidding the chances are about 1 in a 1,000,000 but hopefully i do get a reply from him and not from the people replying for him any ways do any of you know how long it will take for a reply?

I've sent a letter to Emma Watson and Alan Rickman, I recieved a letter reply to both, each were typed, though both were ink-signed by Emma Alan (I can only assume lol). They didn't come right away so give it time, I'd suspect Dan gets more letters than anyone on the cast, plus he keeps busy with non-Harry Potter roles.

Go for it anyway, it's great recieving a reply and if not, nothing lost! I would recommend sending it to their agent address, not Warner Bros fanmail.

Ooooh, my friend sent one to dan and like 2 months later she got a reply! I sent one to tom felton who plays draco malfoy and like 5 months later i got a reply...... my friend got dans autographh but i only got a pic of tom because he doesnt give out autographs.

I sent one either at the end of last year or at the beginning of 2007. I got the reply too, it was a newsletter and an autographed picture like mentioned above. It was pretty cool I guess.

Ok,don't worry,it's still early. Mine came after about a month.But maybe he has more to reply to now.About the typed newsletter,I just like to believe that he typed it on his own and he is the one who signs the autographs and addresses the envelopes;he just can't write a letter to every one of them.You know what?Don't think about it so much.Just forget it and when you get the reply one day out of the blue,it's gonna be amazing.

I've been reading all about all you people who got replies from Dan , and now I really want to send him a letter too! Even if I just get a picture or a newsletter that'd still be cool!

I would be afraid to send a letter because my brothers would tease me. But it would be really cool if he responded I would like die of happiness but I think I might give it a shot now that I can drive and stuff thanks Killian for posting the adress thing im really excited now I wish I could go to the LA premiere to see like Dan and Emma I was just in LA but I never left the airport but nonetheless I was there.

I think I will send a letter. I mean I have nothing to lose! It would be awesome if he sent something back! I mean, I know he is busy, and I wouldn't kepp my hopes too high, but if he replied to my letter, that would just make my whole entire year!! I'd be so ecstatic!

I sent him a letter, but just got that typed letter in return along with a picture. It was big and is now hanging on my wall! Haha! It took a just around two months for me to get it back, but when I got I was ecstatic for the rest of the year, and I still am when I look at the picture. You gotta love him I just wish I had gotten one he had written himself, but of course he cant sent one like that to everyone. I’m glad for my picture! Love him!

I sent the trio a letter a couple years ago when they finished making one of the movies. I got a picture of a screenshot of them from PoA and the three of them signed it.

Wow, something like that you'd think would almost be worth some money some day. Although I know that if I had something like that, I wouldn't sell it; the sentimental value would be waaaaay to high. That's really neat.

Hmm I don't mean to shatter all of you but most of the time the photo's are just mass copies, if you look side on at your pic I think you'll find most of them are just copies of the original signatures the same way you buy a copy of an original painting. And people as high up as them have people who handle their fan mail and send them back, kindly which is a whole lot better than nothing and letters are passed onto the actors. They have people who sort through them all, and I find it highy doubtful that the actors would sit there addressing envelopes for hours out of their days as they would get thousands a week.

Also the notes that come with them would be scribed for them, they would tell someone what they want written, every so often if you look at HP site, pretty sure Veritaserum normally posts it there'll be news saying a new letter and new pic of Dan has been released for this year or 6 months however often they re-do the letter. For eg the one I got from Emma said they were still filming OOTP which was impossible.

The Other Boy Who Lived don't worry I sent a letter to Emma and Rupert last August and I only got Emma's reply a month ago and I'm still waiting on Ruperts.

None the less they're great keepsakes, and only those who have made the effort to write the letter will possibly receive a reply!

I just got my letter back saying that it was a fake address so now i'm going to try the one you posted i just got it yesterday and its been four months so i wouldn't use the addresses on this site

I am going to send him a letter with a picture of my son dressed up as HP in his quiditch uniform. I am hoping he will answer me with an autographed photo of himself as HP. I plan to frame it for my son and hang it up in his room. He already has three HP posters. I don't plan on hearing back from him any time soon, but if he will answer me by April then that will make a great birthday present for my son.

It would be pretty nifty if he responded personally which would definitely be super unlikely. However, I would be much too lazy to send him a letter. I basically do the bare minimum on everything and it would be too much effort.

I sent mine out about a month and 2 or 3 weeks ago. And just got it back on Saturday. So, yeah you still have like a few weeks. I hope it comes!!!

I sent one like waaay long ago, quite a few years ago, and I got a reply a while after (so long after that I wasn't expecting it at all ). It was, of course, just a typed letter and printed autographed picture. I expect he changes the letter once in a while, but everyone pretty much gets the same thing. I wonder if there's a difference if we can actually send it to the agents and not the fan mail? It'd be great if they picked out a few letters of the thousands they get, and took the time to read it and reply personally. I might send one to Tom. Just to say I did, even if he doesn't read it.

Well, I had never felt the need or time to send them letters, because I thought I'd get pretty sensitive getting a typed letter. But now I thought 'hey, this is the end, let's have something to remember Harry Potter was a movie!' and I really want to write to the whole HP cast. Only to get their autographs. But I never have time (well, now there's time, but I'm not using it) and I don't know what to say. Despite that doesn't mind, since they send a typed letter, right?

Yes, they change the letters and pics through the years. So, they answer with standard facts from the actors' current life, I think. That'd be awesome, getting a personal letter ^^ But... quite unlikely :/

I really, really have to get time to write them.
