i think that it if fine. emma is a main character too and loved by people as much as dan probabaly is. i think that it is totally fair.

i think that every one loves both equally if not the same!

2, How do you know dan wasnt busy.

I thought Rupert should've done it because he has less fame out of the entire trio. He needs more of it than the others.

I'm not a fan of Emma and I also think that Dan should have done it. They're turning Emma in to this main character, which she isn't as she's supposed to be a sidekick.

Oxfordshire is her home town, she should be a right person to do that job. I mean why would oxford people want a london boy to turn their light? No matter how famous he is, Emma is the most famous in her own home. (of course).

First of all....why does it matter? She's a main character in HP. She's great. Why shouldn't she light them? Besides, it does make sense having her do it, seeing as how she lives there.

And...they could've asked Dan and Rupert, who could've been busy or just not interested.

[B]Well, I think that Dan (as much as i love him) should have been the last person of the trio asked to do it! He gets to do enough cool stuff as it is. Yes, i know...he's the "main character" but does that mean he should get to do EVERYTHING?¿?¿?¿ I think it was a good choice to choose Emma to do it seeing as she lives there. And as much sense as it made to have her do it a part of me wishes Rupert would have done it. I think he is the least popular of the three. He could have used that to try and catch himself up with Emma and Dan. All and all I have absolutely no problem with Emma doing it. She did a fine job!

Well, just like what Resilda and DracoLoverTF said, I'm also feeling a bit stupid because of this Oxford thing. But as what I've read from the past post, I think, it doesn't matter if it's Emma or Dan or Rupert. Does this Oxford light's motive is about Harry Potter? I believe that even if it's not them, I think, it doesn't matter. And maybe, they didn't invite Dan and Rupert. I hope I help you with this.

I would be great fo Emma to do it but personally I would like to see Dan do it but thats only because I fancy the Quiddich robes off him.*blushes* Go Emma!

Could someone pleas explain what these Oxfordlight-thingies are? Is it lighting the lights in some giant Christmas-tree or something?

As for Emma doing it instead of Dan I agree with most of you. What does it matter, Hermione is a main character as well as Harry is. So I don't really see a problem here... I think that Rupert does deserve more attention, since I've never read anything about him doing such things, or is that just me?

They probably asked her because they knew her better than Dan. I mean after all she does live there, and they probably just know more of her background.

They probably asked Emma because that is who they wanted to turn the lights on. What a thought. Maybe you don't like Emma but other people do. I'm aware the books are called Harry Potter, but Hermione/Emma is Harry's best bud, so why can't she turn on the lights? Emma is an actor too, and just because Dan has the main role, doesn't mean Emma can't have some well earned spotlight as well. I like all three actors very much, but don't hate on Emma because she was probably invited to turn the lights on.

i kinda like the idea that they chose emma. i like her better because dan is always seen everywhere. and its nice to see someone else share the spotlight.

I disagree with you, I think it's just a case of personal taste but I don't think she is a particularly charismatic actress, especially when surrounded by some of the best actors in Britain.



They are just the Christmas lights for Oxford, like with London they always get a celebrity to turn them on. Emma lives in Oxford and goes to school there when she is in school, so she was chosen.

i think that its probably because she lives in oxford. like for example, i live in belfast an there was an ad on tv about who is doing it here this year and theyre two people from belfast, callum best and someone else, so personally i think its where they come from but maybe you're right, maybe dan and rupert were'nt free.

I think both are great....

But i am a man (boy *lol*9 and thats the reason i thing, that emma is better, sweeter and more beautiful than dan. She is a good actress... a very good one.

I actuall think Dan can act better than Emma, but hey're both great.

Actually, to be truthful, Emma has done a better job, lets remember this, Dan had acted in 3 shows before her and many other plays while Emma that have being her first ever movie/play or whatever.

well yes i see your point Spencer Potter but it doesnt make daniel radcliffe a worse actor. I think theyre both equally good on what theyve done.
