Whats your favourite spell?Mines Stupefy.I hvae no idea why,but i just like it.Crucio.....hmmm...making someone feel terrible pain,no....I have to say im not a fan of the Unforgivable curses,but out of the 3 of them,I'd choose Avada Kedavra,quick death.No im not Voldemort....

Ya stupefy is pretty cool. I also dislike the unforgiveable curses also, but my favorite would have to be levicorpus just because i think it would be awesome to make somebody float. I also liked the water spell because you would never die of thirst or fire.

For some reason I like the Reductor curse Reducto! it can blast through things. As it does during the DA meetings. it reduced a table to dust. expelliarmus is ok too. It is weird how it randomly throws some people but is only supposed to disarm them. I also hate the unforgivable curses

You know, I am definitely going to have to go with Expecto patronum! Not only does the spell repel dementors (which I am sure no one wants around, I do rather enjoy living happily), but you also get a very pretty animal coming out of your wand protecting you. I know the point isn't how the animal looks, it's about repeling dementors, but is seems like a nice concept. You know, the creation of an animal guardian that was formed through happiest memories.

I am also rather fond of Riddikulus! If I even came face to face with a Boggart, that spell would definitely come in handy so that I wouldn't just be standing there scared to death, I could have a good laugh!

I have to agree with HP_RULES!. Expecto Patronum would be a great spell to have. Nothing like being able to conjure up your protector out of thin air! Also, the Order learned how to send messages using their patronus's. That would be much more interesting than sending a letter!

Mine would most definitely be Expecto Patronum. After all it is the only way to defend urself from a dementor. Also it's cool to see what animal you produce. Another spell i like would be Expelliarmus. It's dead useful in duels and it is a common spell that can get you out of tricky situations

Well I have several different favorites.
My main favorite spell is Accio! because it allows you to be extremely lazy. I also really like the spell Lumos and its counterspell Knox (sp?) because there are times when that spell could really come in handy.

Sectumsempra-because it sounds cool, it does an amazing amount of damage and it is still not classified as unforgivable, so I see it as a useful spell that could help out Harry and the Order if they chose to use it.

Rictusempra-the tickling charm. How cool would that be to cause someone to tinkle a little from laughing? I know, I am a little strange but those are just a couple I like. I like many more but I will save those for later?

I love Expecto Patronum. I think I would have problems with dementors like Harry does and it would make me feel safe knowing I knew that spell. I also think it would be neat seeing what form your Patronus takes on. . .and it's also a means of communication.

I like the Sectumsempra spell, too. I like it because it's dark and a new spell we learn about in the 6th book . .but it's not horrendous like an Unforgivable curse.

Actually, quite honestly, I like the Imperius curse. I would never use it or want it used on me, but I sort of have this odd admiration (for lack of a better word) towards it.

Lumos is a neat spell, too, and so useful. I would probably use it often.

i also like stufefy though... i am also not a fan of the unforgivable curses, they are just so totally evil... but yess my favourites are stupefy and sectumsempra!

my favorite spell is bombardum. it was when hermione was getting sirius out of the cell on top of hogwarts. i like the spell b/c the way it expodes stuff. i thought it was really kool.

probably the summoning charm, accio, or the cheering charm lol (anyone know the incantation for that?)

Sorry hpgeek but I don't know the incantation for that one. I would say that my favorite is bombardum, for the same reason as iluvviktorkrum, it just explodes stuff... I like interesting spells, not like Stupify (even though it is handy) but one like Sectumsempra, it creates gashes, like actually slashing someone. (I don't have problems...) I like the idea of the Imperious Curse, I think it is cool how could just have someone totally in your control... or Legimens... see peoples thoughts.... Okay... that's enough on my part...

Accio would be pretty useful, but then again that might make me a bit more lazier than I wish to be. But I also liked that Bat-Bogey hex that Ginny used. That might come in handy

I would chose waddiwasi, because it's funny, and I think it was made up by lupin right where he was. This is just a guess

My favorite spell would have to be levicorpus, because the victim never knows it's coming (it's nonverbal) and it's not really a BAD spell, just a semi-harmless prank. I think it would be awesome to do that to some people... hee hee hee

Well, I personally like Alohamora! because it sounds really pretty like something hawaiian AND i can unlock doors that people lock on me, because I am oh so nosy and annoying

Well, I really like a lot of spells. But, right now, my favorite is "Expecto Patronum" (sp?). It is a really powerful one that chases away fear. Plus, I like the way it sounds!

I have to say my favourite spel, ever since the third book, has been "Expecto Patronum." It is very useful, and it is also incredibly uplifting. I also like "Wingardium Leviosa" because who doesn't want to make objects fly!?!?!

Whichever option they would ever offer, -which they won't...- my choice would be Expecto Patronum -- because you call over a friend, a partner, a guardian.

Another of my favorites is Silencio. Some of my friends talk nonstop all day, everyday... it would be cool to just say, Silencio! and have a few minutes of peace for once...

I have always siad that Accio is my favourite spell. Accio handbag...accio dinner...accio cup of tea lol!!

I also would love it if Expelliarmus worked on the remote control while the footballs on TV

Expelliarmus is my favorite spell, it is just so cool to be able to disarm someone and just catch whatever they had in their hands at the time. Like a wand, obviously, or, as said earlier by etphonehome the remote. It would just be so much fun to be able to disarm people... it would be so sweet

I'm not evil but my favorite one was Morsmordre because, before book seven, I thought it was the counter curse for Avada Kedavra. I mean, it made sense!! Morsmordre-- death bite-- I thouht that the skull might swallow the flash of green light.

my favorite spells would be the spell that "Professer Moody" used to turn Darco Malfoy into a ferret and Expecto Patronum. i want my kitty to protect me lol!

I like the Bubble Head Charm because it'd be funny walking around with a bubble encasing your head making it look like you had a goldfish bowl on. just like as it said in the book. I also like Peskipixi Pesternomi (sp?) because, well, i don't want any pixies pestering me (mainly cornish pixies).

I love the Unforgivable Curses, so Avada Kedavra is deffinitely my number one. Crucio is pretty cool too. I'm not a big fan of the Imperius curse though, seems a bit boring. I like Sectumsempra a lot too, so that's my third favourite.

As for my favourite most useful spell, it would have to be Accio. Actually, I say it a lot in real life! I go around to everything, point at it then say ACCIO! Haha, it's a terrible habit!

I would have to say my favourite spell would be reducto or expelliarmus,impedimenta,patronus and alohamora.I dont like the unfogivible curses,I could never kill someone,torture or force someone to do whatever i want .But still very col it is just i could never do it!!!

I think reparo is an extremely useful spell. I am always breaking things so being able to repair them on the spot would be fantastic. I also like impervius. I would never need to use an umbrella the rest of my life.

I always admired the Patronus charm, I think having an animal that poses significance to you and having it become your guardian against foes like Dementors. I'm also fond of the Protego spell and the elemental spells such as Aguamenti (water conjuring spell) and Incendio (one of the fire conjuring spells) there were other spells that I liked but I'm not sure what they are, I'll have to get back to you on those ones when I remember them.

Hi folks! It's such a good idea for a thread. Reading through it makes me remember so many spells and actions connected with them that I thought I have already forgotten!

My favourite spell ever is Expecto Patronum.One, it is incredibly useful when it can shield you from the Dementors and also, as it has been pointed out, it serves as a means of communication. If you want to send a message via a patronus, you have it on you all the time, unlike an owl which might be somewhere off hunting as Hedwig sometimes does. Two, it's just incredibly beautiful in its colour and in whatever shape it takes. Three, I love the way it is conjured as it includes a person's happiest memory - it is so much positive. And four, I think it's one of the first spells with which we realize that conjuring something is not only about flashing your wand and saying the incantation but also that there must be some mental activity at the background. Which, of course, later reappears with the Unforgivables which again you have to mean if you want to cast the spell. But I am certainly not in favour of these

As for the most useful spell. I think that for the characters it is Expelliarmus as it is not that dangerous and usually doesn't cause much harm but Harry can really do wonders with it.

I have to admit, I'm going back to basics. Wingardium Leviosa is my faviroute spell. You gotta admit, it's the best. It saved Hermione and Harry's life. Also, it was Ron's first real spell! Come on Ron!

Reparo because i break things
Patrounus because its advanced
Accio because im lazy
Avada Kedavra so i can kill spiders
crucio so i can make spiders hurt
stupify so i can stun my foes
and obliviate so i can wipe my parent and teachers memorys clean

My two favorite spells are levicorpus and stupefy. I don't know why those are my favorite ones though. MAybe cause of how levicorpus is shown in IMAX 3-d when I saw OOTP movie there.

As the majority I also like Expecto Patronum as it helps to repel all bad things dementors bring. Also the animal that appears makes it really great as it portrays the feelings and characteristics of the person casting it. Finally it is also used to send messages which is also great. Making this a multifunctional spell.

Antoher spell I like is Scourgify as it helps to clean and will be very useful specially when i'm asked to do the dishes,

In matters of duelling or fighting I like Expelliarmus and Protego as they both help me protect myself without causing damage. But if it was a life or death situation I will seriously consider using Crucio or Imperio, I think I wouldn't be able to use the Avada Kedavra as I think no one deserves to die.

hehe i too used that spell, it will definitely be my favorite real life spell because i'm so lazy, it's nice to just point and let the thing zooming to your grasp. this spell will really come in handy!!!

I have three:
1) alohamora - because I'm nosey!
2) reparo - because I'm so clumsy, I'm always breaking things!
3) protego - because it's so cool and helpful if you're in a dangerous situation

And you can't forget expecto patronum!
So really I have four!

My NEW favorite spells, now that I'm back at school (yuck ) are Muffliato and Obliviate. They would be dead useful if I wanted to talk to my friends....

Well, my 2 year old's favorite spell is Expecto Patronum!!!!! He walks around with anything that looks like a wand and points it at you, and yells this spell at you. It is way to funny!!!

Anyhow, my favorite is Protego because you can protect yourself or people you care about with this one. I do like the imperius curse though. There are times when I want to use that one on my children to get them to do what I want them to do, he he he.

Mine is definetly Accio... Sometimes I imagine how useful it would be in real life, specially to find stuff (I'm a little messy...) plus, it might save some time from searching and going over to take things.

Second favorite: Wingardium Leviosa... I would use it just to have fun. Sometimes I think of myself doing it at stuff just out of boredom... that would be nice.

And third: Expecto Patronum: It also helps for sending messages, so it might actually help me save some money on my phone bill!

Expecto Patronum and the simple Expelliarmus. These words just sound wonderful and they are very useful, especially Expecto Patronum. But Wingardium Leviose sounds great as well and Protego is a very nice spell too.

well, if you mean by "favorite spell" that you like what it does, then my favorite would probably be Wingardium Leviosa. Next favorite would be Accio of course.

If you mean that you like it by how it sounds, then my first choice should be self explannatory. I like Aguamenti too..

in PSE today me and my friend were having a duel and we write in a piece of paper all spells that we could use against eachother and i must say that the first spell she used on me way crucio one of the unforgiverble curses but i must say that my faveroute spell is expeliormous (and i am defiantly shore that is harrys aswell)

oohh this is tricky i have so many i cant choose! when it comes to most usefull spell i guess its Accio because you can be really lazy with it!

id love to us Bombarda or Reducto, lol just blast a door or something

Expecto Patronum is really cool too (and pretty useful!) and i guess Petrificus Totalus just sounds cool and it sorta freezes people so its pretty usefull too!

but when it comes to the best sounding spell iv got to say prioro incantato (but maybe im a bit biased on that one)
