This announcement is to let everyone know that the sorting area will be closed at the time of the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The quiz threads (including the sorting hat) will be closed as soon as possible after the coordinator/s have updated them in the week leading up to the book release and will not be reopened until August, or when the coordinators are able to recommit to them.

This is due to the demand of time that these quizzes have on the coordinators and the influx of new members that inevitably happen following book and movie releases. Having to spend all of their time sorting people or giving them a marauder/animagus/character etc is incredibly time consuming and does not allow our valued coordinators to participate in the conversations and discussions that they may want to after reading DH. If people are wanting a wand/pet/patronus/etc, then they will need to wait until the coordinator is able to continue in their role.

All quizzes that are created during this time will be closed and members will be referred to this thread and the sorting rules thread. It is our intention that those who are currently coordinating these threads will continue to do so when they are reopened. This is of course, assuming that they still want to and that they haven't used the opportunity to crawl under a rock screaming.

The majority of coordinators at this point have given me a request time to reopen their respective threads, however members should please be aware that we WILL look at opening new quizzes or finding new coordinators for SOME of the threads if necessary. In this case- and announcements WILL be made if it does come to this- we will advertise for quiz ideas or coordinators. As previously stated, any quizzes created without permission will be closed down and deleted.

Well with DH finally been released and a lot of new peoples around the forum, there are obviously a lot of eager people who want a House/Marauder/Animagus etc.

We will be starting to reopen the quizzes when the coordinators are ready for them. Please DO NOT post your answers for quizzes that are not reopened, as they will be deleted. Please DO NOT bug the coordinators who still have their quizzes closed, as there are several who are away at the moment, others with forum responsibilities and some who just want to enjoy the moment that is Deathly Hallows and who really don't need rude people who have nothing better to do with their time than be demanding.

All that will do will annoy the heck out of me and if I do hear of people harassing our time-generous coordinators it will probably warrant you an official warning. Please understand just how much time these quizzes take on our coordinators, who do these roles as volunteers.

Once all of the current quizzes are reopened, as I said above we MAY start to look for new quizzes and coordinators. Please do not bug me or any of the other staff about this. IF we decide to go ahead with it, we will advertise it. If people open quizzes without seeking moderator approval first (which you won't get until we advertise for it), the quizzes will be closed without questioning.

Ok. Here we go. I've been putting this off because we are still missing some very good coordinators who appear to have head for the hills screaming.

All of the currently closed quizzes are now being advertised for new coordinators. If you would like to apply, please send a PM to ME stating which quiz you are applying for, why you would be a good coordinator and how you would go about sorting people into that respective area. People who send things to the other staff will just prove that they can't read and will be ignored without further consideration.

Please understand before you apply that sorting takes up a lot of time and it is expected that you will update your quiz AT LEAST once a week. If you don't, it will be closed without warning and all that you will have done is prove what an unreliable person you are. DO NOT include in your PM to me a speal about what a reliable person you are and how you would never walk away from a quiz without notice- there isn't a single original coordinator still currently with their quiz so I'm not going to believe you and it will probably result in you being given less consideration.

Please also note that more consideration will be given to people who have been here at least 3 months, who have a clean posting record as well as a decent amount of posts that can be reviewed. I will not be reopening the quiz for the first person who applies and will be looking at the best possible option for the quizzes.

If people would like to apply, we will hopefully have all current quizzes reopened within 2 weeks.

At this stage, we are not opening any new quizzes. Anyone who does open a new quiz without approval will have it closed without warning.
