Hi!
I’m back! And I’m back with my second part of my fanfic ‘Love from First to the Very Last’, as I hope you’ve been waiting for. If you’ve not red the first part you can read it here, but you can also just start reading the story from this point.
It starts the day after Petunia and Vernon’s wedding in the beginning of the summer vacation… I skipped the wedding at the thought of Petunia in a hideous wedding dress and Vernon pressed down into a suit. Both Lily and I would have gotten sick. Oh, and I have written a longer chapter than I use to, because it have been such a long time.
Enjoy!

Lily was waiting in her room for James to come and get her. She had told him to get her around noon, and it was half past twelve, but of course, James was not the most punctual person Lily knew. She looked out the window once more. She had view all over the street, and would be able to see when James arrived. Lily looked at some pictures at her wall, she had some that was moving and some that was not. She had a picture of herself with Tess and Wendy. It had been taken in the beginning of their sixth year, they were al waving and smiling. There were pictures of her muggle-friends too. Lily had never given them up after she attended Hogwarts. On the picture were herself and three other girls: Jackie, Amy and Kate from last summer. They were all tanned and wore summer clothes. Kate had blonde curly hair and she wore the necklace Lily had given her for her seventeenths birthday which had been two months before. Both Jackie and Amy had brown hair. The only difference was that Jackie liked to wear hers in a high ponytail and Amy’s always was loose.
Lily and Kate had been inseparable since they were four, and they had met Jackie and Amy when they were about eight. The four of them had become best friends, but none of them had come to the same school in the year that Lily came to Hogwarts. Lily was still talking too them when she was home and wrote to them. Last summer Lily had told them that she was a witch and they didn’t hate her for not telling them, and they were actually all very happy about knowing a witch.
The doorbell rang.
Lily looked up from the pictures; that had to be James. She ran out of her room and out to the door, but when she opened, it was not James.
“Hi Lily!” Three girls exclaimed.
“Oh, hi you all!” Lily said and gave Jackie, Amy and Kate a hug each. “I didn’t expect you now.”
“Well, my mother told me that she had heard from your mother that you were going somewhere later, so we wanted to say ‘hey’ to you.” Amy told. “So hey!”
“How nice of you.” Lily grinned.
“So where’re you going?” Kate asked.
Lily blushed and looked down. “Just to one I know from Hogwarts.”
“She’s blushing!” Kate said and pointed. “I bet it’s a boy?”
“Uhh, is it?” Jackie asked.
“Well, kind of.” Lily said and blushed even more.
“When you say kind of… do you then mean that he’s half girl or what?” Amy asked with a wide smile.
“No.” Lily said and laughed “It’s just a normal boy.”
“Who is he, and why have you not told in the letters we have been writing together?” Jackie asked.
“Sorry for not telling you. And his name is James. And he-”
“Wait I minute!” Kate interrupted. “James? As in James Potter? Him you hated and wouldn’t stop talking about when we asked you. THAT James?”
“The exact same.” A deep voice came from behind Lily’s three friends.
They turned around and saw a tall boy with messy jet-black hair and glasses. Behind the glasses shinned a pair of warm hazel eyes and he smiled a wide and flirty at Lily.
Lily had been so busy talking to her friends that he had not seen James arrive. She smiled at him, and couldn’t help but think of how much she had missed him.
“I’m flattered that you have been spending you spare time talking about me.” James said and walked up and gave Lily a quick kiss and a hug.
“So that’s the James Potter you have been talking about, huh?” Amy asked.
“That’s right.” Lily grinned.
“And I’m here to pick up Lily.” James added with his head on Lily’s shoulder.
“We could wait a little, right? I haven’t seen them all since Christmas.” Lily asked and looked up at James with puppet eyes.
“Sure. I have all the time in the world…Umm names?” He asked.
“Kate. I’ve known Lily since we were four.”
“Jackie. I live just next door. ”
“Amy… And I’m… just Lily’s friend.”
“Great!” James grinned. “You have some pretty friends, Lily.”
The three girls giggled and Lily hit James on his upper arm.
“Do I have to remind you of who you’re dating?” Lily asked with raised eyebrows.
James grinned. “I know who my girl is. Don’t worry.” He said and kissed her cheek. “I know where my heart and I belong.”
“Aww!” Kate sighed.
Lily blushed.
“So, have Lily really talked a lot about me?” James asked.
“YES!” Amy almost yelled, but blushed slightly when the other girls and James looked at her.
“Well, she would never stop talking about you when first you were mentioned.” Jackie said. “Quite annoying, actually.”
“Is that really so?” James asked and looked at Lily, who still was blushing very much.
“Yeah, yeah.” Lily said and pushed slightly to James. “It was not like you yourself was better!”
“No, but when have I ever been better that you, according to you?”
“Never!” Lily said and smiled.
“She’s bossing you around too?” Kate asked James and winked at Lily.
“Oh, yeah…” James said in a false serious way and nodded. “I can’t get a moment of peace when she’s around.”
“Shut up…” Lily grinned and pushed to James.
She really had missed his ‘jokes’ and ironic attitude. In short terms: she had missed everything of James, and she could feel how her heart beat a bit faster now that he stood with his arms around her stomach.
“We feel the same way.” Jackie grinned.
“But we love you despise of that!” Amy told Lily.
“I’m glad you do.” Lily grinned.
“How could we help but love you?” James asked without realising it.
Lily’s three friends giggled again.
“Lily how could you have resisted his charm for six years?” Kate asked.
Lily shrugged and looked at them in a thinking way. “Can’t we just say he’s not always like that?”
“Hey! That’s not fair!” James said. “You’ve just never given me the chance.”
“James we have talked about this, right?” Lily asked and looked him into the eyes. “If you remember? We were two about that case.”
“What case?” Jackie asked.
“Well-”
“Can’t we hear the story inside?” Amy asked. “Or in the garden?”
“Yeah, and we have so much to catch up with and I feel like sitting down to it.” Kate said and grabbed Lily by the hand and pulled her inside.
James followed inside while shaking his head a bit. “Girls…” He mumbled.

What a lovely feeling. I hope your all glad that I’m back and enjoying the story already. And please leave your feedback here biggrin.gif

Hey! biggrin.gif
Here’s the next chapter and something I would have posted in the first post, but forgot.
I’m very sad to admit that it was me not who came up with the Harry Potter-universe. JKR have given me inspiration to the story which I have written. I do not own any of the characters! They are JKR’s. That's it.
Now read! tongue.gif

James spent the rest of the day with Lily and her three friends. He admired how girls just could go on and on in one long sentence about some friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s friend’s something’s new girlfriend. James had lost track after the first ‘friend’s’, and sat with his head cocked and studied as the girls talked fast and very excited, felling he slowly turned mad. But he did found out that Jackie apparently had gotten a new boyfriend, and that Amy had broken up with hers. Steve was his name, James found out. He also heard a few stories of Lily, and some pretty funny things she had done. It was like he saw a side of her he had not seen before.
First around five in the afternoon Kate, Amy and Jackie went home and Lily was alone with James. James had still not seen Lily’s room, and persuaded Lily to show him before they went back to Godric’s Hollow.
“Then come on.” Lily said and pulled James through the kitchen and into a little hall.
“Is it in there?” James asked and pointed at a door with a single black and white poster at.
Lily nodded, so James opened the door and went inside.
“It’s nice. Just you.” James said and smiled at Lily. “Who is that on that picture over there?” He pointed at one of Lily’s pictures at the wall.
Lily walked over to the pictures. “That one?”
“Yes.”
“It’s my dad. Taken three years before he died, but that’s the way I remember him.” Lily smiled sadly and looked at the picture.
James moved closer to Lily and the pictures. “You loved him very much, right?”
“Yes. So much.”
James kissed Lily on her forehead, and then his eyes fell at the picture above Lily, Tess and Wendy.
“Hey! That’s me!”
Lily blushed and smiled. She looked at the picture of James. He was leaning against the frame and looking at them with a wide mischievous smile at his face and his hair was even messier than usual. And just as they looked, the picture-James let his hand run through his hair to messy it even more.
“Well spotted.”
“How long has it been up?”
“The last three days only.”
“He’s lonely. Look at him!”
“Year, I thought of putting one of myself up to join him.”
James smiled, and then kissed her. “You’re cute.” James said and put his hands around her waist and kissed her again. “Really cute. Did you know that?”
“I have been told.” Lily said and jumped up at James so he had to hold her up. “That’s what makes me so charming.”
“Exactly.” James kissed Lily again, just a little more passionate than before.
Lily didn’t make sign to want to jump down again, so James didn’t let go of her. But after five minutes of kissing and holding Lily he started to get tired and walked over to Lily’s bed and lay her there along with himself. James let hand support on the bedside to not put too much of his weight at her. He felt Lily’s heart against his own as they lay there.
They both heard the door open and broke apart at once.
James looked up and saw Lily’s mother stand in the door, he quickly sat up and so did Lily. He felt his face turn red at once, as she kept looking at them.
“Oh, Hello Mrs Evans.” James said and let his hand run through his hair. “I’m sorry ‘bout that.”
Funny enough, Lily’s mother suddenly smiled.
“I should have knocked. You’re James, I assume.”
James got up from the bed and shook her hand. “Yes, I’m glad to meet you Mrs Evans.”
“You can call me Jane.” She smiled. “I thought you already had gone, Lily.”
Lily looked at her mother. “Yeah. But Jackie, Amy and Kate came by to visit me and we decided to wait a couple of hours.”
“Oh, well. Could I make some dinner for you then?”
“Mom, you know I can do it in less than a minute. Let me.”
“No, you don’t need to bother.”
“But I want to.”
“All right then. If you really want to, you can.”
“Thank you.” Lily said and got up. “James can help me. Come on James.” She grabbed James by the hand and stormed out of her room.
Lily and James made dinner for the three of them before they went back to Lily’s room and finished packing. They said goodbye to Jane and apparated to Godric’s Hollow.

Yes! Tell me what you think here tongue.gif

Hey!
Actually this chapter and the next chapter was one, but then I found that I missed a chapter, and parted it and wrote some more to them. Hope it is okay never the less.

Lily was once again on standing on a little sidewalk in Godric’s Hollow by James’s side. They started walking down the little street where James lived. James took her by the hand and walked down the street. Lily couldn’t help but love this place. Everything from the big beeches along the street to the little colourful houses was just perfect!
“So, you’re ready to meet my parents once more?” James asked.
“Sure. Can it be worse than your meet with my mother?”
James laughed. “I don’t think so.”
“Me neither.” Lily said and gave James a quick kiss.
They reached their destination and walked up the green front lawn and Lily noticed how red and yellow tulips were all the way around the little house. She thought it looked perfect too.
“Let’s go inside.”
Lily didn’t notice that she was squeezing James’s hand a little harder. James opened the door and together they walked first into the hall where they dumped Lily's suitcase, and then into the kitchen.
“Hi mom, dad.” James said to his parents and smiled.
“Hi dear. So it was Lily you were going to get!” Helena said and smiled.
Both she and Jonathan looked at Lily and James’s hands.
“So, are you together?” Jonathan asked.
“Yeah…” James said slowly.
Lily blushed and looked down, so James gave her hand a little squeeze.
“Congratulations.” Helena said.
Lily blushed even more, but tried to smile at Helena. “Thank you.”
“How long have you been together?” Jonathan asked.
“Since Christmas.” James answered slowly.
Helena and Jonathan looked at each other in a way that Lily could see that they knew.
“Sorry we didn’t tell you.” Lily suddenly said. “It was my fault, I wasn’t-”
“It’s okay, dear.” Helena stopped her. “It’s nothing compared to what happened the first time I should meet Jonathan’s parents.”
“What happened?” Lily wasn’t sure she wanted to know the answer.
“Well, first of all they caught me and Jonathan just as we were saying hello to each other in our own way. Then next I broke this tank with some liquid in. Of course they could repair the tank, but the liquid was gone and the carpet was ruined. What a mess it was. What a mess.” Helena shook her head slowly and smiled.
“But they still liked you.” Jonathan said.
“They did eventually.”
Jonathan made a short laugh. “They did.”
“Where’s Sirius?” James asked. He hadn’t seen him since he left to get Lily earlier that day.
“He’s out looking at some house he saw in a muggle-newspaper.” Jonathan answered.
“Oh, has he found something?”
“I don’t know yet, but I think he like this one he’s looking at right now.”
“Okay. Want to go up and unpack?” James asked Lily.
“Sure.” Lily said and went after James upstairs.

I might post the next chapter tomorrow because this is so short, please bear with me and leave some feedback. Thanks biggrin.gif

Okay, as I promised yesterday I’d give you this chapter today! And look; it’s here! biggrin.gif Now, read! tongue.gif

Lily had begun to unpack in the room as she stayed in the last time she was there, when someone knocked on the door.
“Yeah?” She called.
“Can I come in?” Helena's voice asked
“Sure.”
Helena opened the door and came inside.
“Why are you unpacking in here?” She asked.
Lily looked up from her trunk. “I’m going to sleep in here. Like I did the last time I was here.”
“Don’t be ridiculous.” Helena said and sat at the bed. “Come here.”
Lily walked over and sat beside Helena.
“Now listen, Lily. You seam like a nice girl, and both Jonathan and I like you a lot. And I can see that James is very happy about you, and he really is into you. Actually I have never seen James as happy and smiling as when you’re beside him. And you really like him too, right?”
“Yeah. More than I could ever have imagined.” Lily said and smiled.
“I thought so too. Therefore I don’t doubt two seconds that you and James are both adults and can handle to sleep in the same bed, so why don’t you pack your stuff and go into James?” Helena said and smiled at Lily, then she got up and was on her way out.
“Thank you, Helena. It means a lot that you trust me already.”
“You seamed like a person to trust from the very beginning. You’re different than any girl James has ever brought home.”
Lily looked worried. “Is that many?”
Funny enough Helena laughed silently. “No. James brought one about two years ago, but something in his eyes told me that it didn’t go anywhere. And then again one and a half year ago. It was the same, his mind was elsewhere. And the girls were… well, there wasn’t anything about them, as there is about you.”
Lily smiled. It was not like she was worried or anything else. She knew that James liked her. He had chased her for seven years. She even had talked to Remus one time and he told Lily that James had never been happy with any of the other girls he had dated.
“Once again, thank you Helena.”
“It’s nothing. And now you pack your stuff, and join James in his room.” With those words Helena walked out the door.
Lily quickly packed her stuff back in her suitcase and walked across the little hall with it all and knocked silently on James’s door. Lily heard steps on the inside and after that, the door opened.
“Hey Babe.” James said and kissed her.
“I know why I’m happy, but why are you?”
James shrugged his shoulders and grinned. “Nothing. The situation just seamed right to call you that.”
“Umm, okay.” Lily said slowly.
“Do you mind if I call you that?”
“No. It just seams so unlike you.”
“I’ll work on that. But tell me, what are you so happy about?”
Lily walked past James and inside his room and sat on his bed. “I just talked to your mother.”
“Oh. She didn’t tell you something awful about me or anything did she?”
“No, but she told me to pack my stuff.”
“What? Did she kick you out?”
“Yeah…” Lily nodded slowly.
“WHY? I mean… don’t she like you? I-”
“James!” Lily interrupted, she almost laughed of James being so stupid. “Do you actually think that she would kick me out? She just said that she trusted us, and that I could sleep in here. With you.”
James, who was on his way out of his room had stopped and looked at Lily.
“She did?”
“Yeah. That’s why I came in here.”
James looked at her for a while and suddenly started to smile. “But then we just need to make a little change.” He said and walked over to get his wand at a table. She flicked it as his bed that immediately grew into a double bed.
“Uhh… That’s nice.” Lily said and jumped up in it.
“Hey! Stop jumping in my bed!” James exclaimed.
“It’s also mine!”
“Yeah, but stop nevertheless!”
“Make me.” Lily smirked and kept jumping.
“You little-!” James ran over to her and flung himself over her so she fell down.
“AH! James!”
James pushed himself up and kissed Lily.
The door smashed open.
“Cut it out, will you!” Sirius said.
James sat up so Lily could too.
“Right. Have you found a place?” Lily asked as she got up.
“Nah. It seamed a little too big and empty for me.” Sirius answered and sat down at a chair.
“Okay. It’ll get boring here without you anyways.” James said.
“I know.” Sirius said and winked.
James laughed and so did Sirius, but Lily looked at the two boys, thinking.
Slowly her stomach started to hurt, and it was not a good feeling. She felt terrible, and she knew why. She had to do something about it. Soon.

Uhh, something’s bothering Lily. But what? Give me your guess here! tongue.gif

Hey! Thanks for al who guessed what’s up with Lily. happy.gif You’ll get the answer right away.

Lily sat in the windowsill at her and James’s room. She was looking down in the backyard and at the small waves in the pool that reflected the moonlight in a beautiful way. But it was hard to keep focus on the beautiful sight. Something was nagging her. It had been this way for weeks, but she didn’t know what to do. She didn’t like keeping secrets from James, yet she had in some time by now. She had known since he first started dating James, but had pushed it forward for a long time.
Lily could only imagine how disappointed James would be, how much it would hurt him if she told. She could risk ruining the relation ship to him. She knew she hadn’t been honest, but she wasn’t alone in this case. Lily knew she should have told him a long time ago, but on the other side: it was past now. For them both.
“Why are you up on this time?”
Lily turned quickly around and looked at James who had sat up in the bed and looked at her. She was still so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t admire his upper part of the body as she used to.
“Couldn’t sleep.” She said shortly.
James got up from the bed. He looked her into the eyes, like trying to figure out why she was up.
“Something’s bothering you, right?”
Lily nodded slightly. “How could you know?”
“You’re pretty easy to see through.” He said and sat down beside her. “Tell me what’s up.”
Lily didn’t say anything at first. She just looked out of the window, wondering if it was now or never. She sighed loudly, but James didn’t press her to talk, he just looked at her. She avoided his eyes.
“James, we need to talk.” She said at last and looked at him.
James’s eyes grew big and his jaw dropped. “Are you going to brake up with me? Now? Here?”
Lily couldn’t stop a snort escaping her, and James seamed very offended.
“Of course not! Why would you think that?”
“Because that’s what I have said every time I have broken up with someone. So does Sirius.”
Lily blew some air out in a giving-up-way. Sirius; The main problem.
“No, I just wanted to tell you something. You may not like it. You may hate me for it. But I need to tell you it; I can’t bear to carry around this secret no more.”
James was getting scared; Lily could see that on his eyes. But despite that he took her hand in his and looked her deep into the eyes.
“Just tell me.” He said. “We have no secrets, remember?”
“Yeah…”
“Then just tell me baby.” James said soft and waited for Lily to speak.
She sighed and looked at their hands. “You know how Sirius and I have never been on these good terms?” Lily asked and James nodded. “Well, there is a reason for that…”
James looked more anxious than before, and Lily almost couldn’t make herself continue.
“Lily, just tell me.” James said.
She sighed again. It was now or never. “Well… It was at this party in the beginning of our sixth year. You had just won the first Quidditch match and there was a party in the common room… We had just had a row. You and me… Remember that?” Lily asked and James nodded once more. She still had er eyes fixing on their hands when she continued. “Well after that you went straight over to this fourth year and began snogging her. It was so mad about it that I stormed out in the corridors and sat there, crying.”
James didn’t say anything, and just listened. He couldn’t see what this had to do with Sirius, but he listened. Of course he felt sorry for making Lily cry back then, but it was not that the story was about.
“After five minutes later Sirius came out and sat beside me.” Lily continued. “He asked me what was wrong, and I told him some of it. He really listened and understood me. Then we sat there, just the two of us, he holding his arm comforting around me. And…” Lily’s voice broke of. She looked up at James again, her eyes filled with tears. “We kissed.”
James looked stunned at Lily for a moment before he let go of her hand, got up and walked towards the door.
“James…?”

Hey! Okay, I’m going into a little summerhouse tomorrow and I considered if I wanted to post this chapter, but then I didn’t want to be that mean and evil to you all, so here is the next chapter! Happy reading!

The door smacked and Lily could hear James steps out in the corridor. A door smacked open and Lily heard someone exclaim something, and right after that someone dragging someone else down the corridor, past the door. Lily got up from the windowsill and opened the door, and looked down the corridor after drying her eyes. She just made to see Sirius be dragged down the stairs by James. Lily ran after them outside where James had let go of Sirius who now lay on the ground and looked at him. He looked surprised and still sleepy.
“What’s up Prongs?” He asked.
“You!” James said angrily, almost yelling, but trying to control himself. “Get up!”
“Okay, okay! Calm down, please.” Sirius sighed as he got up.
Sirius hadn’t almost not gotten up before James hit after him. He stepped back and a frightened expression on his face.
“Wow! What’s wrong with you!?” Sirius raged at James.
“You!” James repeated. “You kissed Lily!”
Lily could see on Sirius’s face that he became very pal and didn’t look well. James hit after Sirius one more time. This time it hit right on the jaw and Sirius took a step back.
“James!” Lily shouted. She ran over at James and stood between him and Sirius with her arms out. “Stop now, and listen.”
James, who was on his way to hit Sirius one more time, stopped and looked at Lily.
“What is there to hear?” He asked angrily. “You,” He pointed at Lily. “Kissed my best friend and did not tell me; your boyfriend. And you,” He pointed at Sirius. “You kissed the girl I had liked for five years and didn’t tell me! That’s what I call friendship!”
James tried to get past Lily but she grabbed him around the waist and pushed him back with whole her body, not letting go of him.
“James!” Lily said and looked up at him, but couldn’t get eye contact because James was looking at Sirius and struggling to get past Lily.
“Prongs, we never meant that to happen. We had both gotten a lot to drink and Lily was very upset about your row. And I… I was even more drunk. I had not been with a girl for a very long time and would have kissed Moaning Myrtle if it had been her who sat out at the corridor. We both needed the comfort.”
“Fine! But why didn’t you tell me?” James asked Sirius.
James had calmed so much down that Lily slowly let go of him and stepped a step backwards and looked up at him.
“Well…” Sirius began again. “Neither I nor Lily was very proud about it the next morning, and we didn’t talk to each other. We both thought it was a big mistake and we sort of agreed about that without talking about it with each other.”
“If you have noticed…” Lily begun. “The non-friendly friendship between Sirius and me begun just about there. We couldn’t talk to each other after that, and we begun to snarl more of each other.”
“How could you let that happen?” James wanted to know.
Sirius sighed. “I sort of just kissed some girl who sat in the corridor. I didn’t think about it was Lily, your big crush, but when we did it I found it wrong and we pulled apart after very short time.”
“Exactly.”
“Lily, why didn’t you tell me?” James asked, looking hurt.
“I was embarrassed. Sirius and I first talked it out this year after the other fight we had.”
James didn’t response at that and kept looking at Sirius and Lily on turn.
“And Sirius didn’t tell you because he was afraid of ruin his friendship with you. That means more to him that being with some random silly girl. He loves you like a brother and more, and didn’t want a simple – but EXTREMELY stupid – kiss ruin that!”
“I just thought we were being honest to each other, Lily.” James said.
“We ARE!” Lily said and placed her hand on his arm. “That’s why I told you. I have wanted to in months, but I couldn’t find the courage to do it. James, I love you and that’s why I told you. Because we’re honest and trust each other.”
James looked at them both for some time before he spoke. Lily was sure his temper had fallen, but wasn’t sure yet.
“So how did Sirius kiss?” James asked Lily after some time.
Lily grinned, knowing they were forgiven. “Awful!”
“And was it nice to kiss my present girlfriend, Padfoot?”
“Disgusting!” Sirius grinned.
Lily looked at Sirius. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
James put his arms around Lily and she put hers around him.
“Then I have one last confession.” James said over Lily’s shoulder. “I just want to say that I have been making out with both Tess and Maja in the end of last year.”
“WHAT?” Sirius yelled and looked angry at James.
James just grinned and shook his head slowly. “Man, you’re stupid, Padfoot.”

The three of them became friends again, and James accepted it all as a mistake they all just wanted to forget.

Ahh, peace! tongue.gif Leave some feedback to when I get back. Haha.

Hey all!
I'm back and here's the next chapter! it's just a little fill-in and I'm not too pleased about it, but I promise that the next will be longer and something will happen, but I'm not telling! Haha! Ah, just read! biggrin.gif

In the following two weeks Lily lived with James and his parents, she enjoyed every moment and she loved to stay there. Sirius had found a house and was about to move out in one more week. A day Sirius had taken James and Lily out to see it with Remus and Peter. The house had looked beautiful and they all were sure that Sirius would be happy there.
“Man, I’m gonna miss you around here.” James said as they got back.
Sirius looked around. “It will be a little bit sad to leave you all.”
“Where’re you going Lily?” James asked as Lily had begun to walk up the stairs.
“Oh, sorry I forgot to tell you. I’m going out to eat dinner with Tess and Wendy. I’m just going up to get ready.”
“All right. Just go up and get ready.”
Lily smiled at him and ran up the stairs.
“We could invite Moony and Wormtail over.” Sirius suggested.
“Yeah. I’ll go up and write an owl.” James said and ran up the stairs to his own room.
Lily was on their room, brushing her hair.
“There’s no need for that. You look beautiful already. At least for a dinner.” James said to her.
Lily just smiled but kept brushing.
James walked over to his desk and began to write a small letter to Remus and Peter. He sent them both with Harald, before walking over to the mirror and Lily. James put his arms around her waist and kissed her cheek.
“You really look beautiful enough.”
“Maybe, but I need to brush my hair if not I want it to be just like yours.”
“It’s only me who can wear that style.”
Lily grinned. “It’s very close to ‘can’t’ instead of ‘can’, you know.”
“I thought you liked my hair!” James said and looked hurt.
Lily saw it and let her hand run through James’s hair, feeling it between her fingers.
“I do. I was just joking. It’s actually lovely.” She said and kissed James.
James grinned. “I knew you couldn’t resist me.”
“Only happening in your dreams.”
“Don’t lie.”
“I’ll stop.”
James kissed Lily one last time and then went downstairs and joined Sirius in the kitchen.
“Isn’t it full moon now?” Sirius asked James as soon as he entered.
“Actually, I think it is. It will be fun.”
“Isn’t it risky to let him on the loose here?”
“Yes, but we’ll go somewhere. I know the perfect place.” James said and looked out the window.
“Great!”
After ten minutes Lily came down and joined them in the kitchen.
“Let me go with you out.” James said to Lily.
“Okay.” Lily said and smiled.
They both got outside and walked down the sidewalk.
“You look beautiful.” He bent down to her neck. “And you smell lovely. You’re not going to meet some one, are you?” James asked and smiled at Lily.
“Not unless you have planed to drop unexpected by.” Lily said.
“Perhaps I will.”
“No you don’t…”
“No, you’re right.” James said and shrugged his shoulders. “Have a good night.”
“You too. Bye”
“Bye.” James said and kissed her.
Lily apparated and James stood back and looked at the empty spot she leaved behind before he turned around and walked back.

As I said, short and not very good, but please leave some feedback and look forward to the next chapter! biggrin.gif

“Wow. This is it. You’re actually leaving and going to live all by your self.”
“Yeah. It’s actually kind of exciting.”
Sirius had packed all his stuff, and he and James was saying goodbye before he was moving. They both thought that it was very sad, but none of them wanted to show it.
Helena, Jonathan and Lily who had all been sitting in the living room came out in the hall.
“It’s going to be very silently here without all your and James’ noise.” Helena said.
“We’re not making that much noise.” James said and sounded offended.
“Oh, really?” Jonathan asked. “The neighbours have complained once.”
“Year, but that was only because there were something wrong and it all exploded. It was not on purpose.”
“According to you, you never do anything on purpose.” Lily said.
“No, we don’t mean to ruin and break stuff.” Sirius said.
“It just happens.” James continued. “Like someone wants us to make trouble…”
“…and destroy things.” Sirius continued
“…And get into trouble for it.” James said at last.
“You know what I think?” Helena asked. “I think it’s something you have from your father. He was just like you when he was young.”
“No I wasn’t.” Jonathan said shortly.
“Yes you were. Actually, much worse. I would say that James is an angel compared to you.”
James smiled at this and Jonathan snorted.
Lily put her one arm around James. “This can mean that if you ever get a child. Perhaps he would actually make his homework. And if you’re really lucky: on time.” Lily pattered James on the chest and smiled.
James laughed. “That will never happen. My influence is too bad.”
“Don’t say that James.” Helena said. “I actually thought you would be much worse than you are.”
“Thank you Mom. But you did like the half toilet seat I sent you and Dad, right?”
“Oh yes. It looked very good when it disappeared.”
“So that was what happened to it!” Jonathan exclaimed like he had just realised it all.
They all laughed.
“I just want to say, that the toilet seat was also from me.” Sirius said.
“Thank you, dear. We’ll send you one back when you have moved into your own house.” Helena said.
“I would love that.” Sirius said. “But I’m afraid I have to go now.” Sirius waved at his two trunks so they lifted from the ground and walked out the door. “Good bye.”
“Bye!” They all called after him.
“You can come over the day after tomorrow when I have decorated!” Sirius called at Lily and James. “Party. 8 o’clock.”
“We will.” James called as he waved.
When they had closed the door Lily walked with James to their room.
“I think I’ll go home tomorrow.” Lily said and sat down at the bed.
“Why?” James asked and sat down beside her.
“Well, I haven’t seen my mother for three weeks. And she’s all alone because Petunia had moved in with Vernon.”
“It’s okay.” James smiled at her. “But shouldn’t we make use of time while your here?”
“I’m not entirely sure I know what you mean?”
“Oh, I think you do.” James bent over and kissed her.

“Welcome!” Sirius said as he opened the door to Lily and James. “Come in!”
“Thanks for inviting us.” Lily said and stepped inside with James.
James had been over at Lily’s house to pick her up and after that they had went to Sirius’s place. Remus and Peter were there already. Sirius had asked Lily to ask Tess and Wendy if they would come too. Then they would all be gathered again, and what a night it would be.
“Moony and Wormtail is here already.”
“Great.”
“And Tess and Wendy will be here in less than an hour.” Lily added.
Sirius smiled.
“Wow. It’s beautiful, Sirius!” Lily exclaimed when she saw the living room. “It’s just you!”
“Thank you. I feel myself I have done a well job.”
The living room had a dark red carpet and white walls with black and white moving photos at. There were two black leather couches and a table of glass between them. In the end of the room was a fireplace lighted up with deep red flames.
“You really have!” James said and thumped Sirius on the back.
“Oh, so you came.” It was Remus who had just entered from the kitchen with Peter.
“Of course.” James said and walked inside the living room and sat down in one of the couches with Lily
It knocked on the door.
“I’ll open.” Sirius said and walked out in the hall and opened the door.
A minute after Tess and Wendy came inside.
“Hello you all!” Tess said and waved.
“Hey.” They all greeted.
Lily noticed that when Tess had sat down, Sirius sat down next to her. A little too close Lily thought. But she pushed the though away immediately.
As the hours drifted past and it became later Lily couldn’t bear to look at Sirius and Tess anymore. Tess was going out with someone, and she knew that Sirius was too. She pushed James slightly in the ribs and when he looked at her she nodded at Sirius and Tess.
James looked at them and his face went darker.
“Two seconds.” He whispered to Lily, then he raised his voice. “Sirius, how would you like to show me the new motorbike of yours?”
Sirius looked up at him. “Sure. Come on.”
James walked out of the living room after Sirius. Sirius led him out of the house and into a garage.
“Here it is.” He said proudly.
“It’s beautiful.” James said honest.
They talked for a while about it before James pulled himself together.
“You and Tess seam to get very good along.”
Sirius kept looking at his motorbike. “Yeah. I’m kind of starting to think I have made a mistake when I broke up with her.”
“What happened to Maja?” James asked.
“Oh yeah… we broke up. Sorry I didn’t tell you.”
“When?”
“Two days ago.”
“Oh! So it was the day you moved?”
“Yeah. Just as I was decorating, it hit me. Maja and I don’t belong together. I have my own house, and she is just about to start her seventh year at Hogwarts. We’re different places in out lives. It just wasn’t meant to be.” Sirius had looked up as he said the last sentence.
“Seams fair. But remember: Tess has a boyfriend.”
“No, she doesn’t.”
“She doesn’t?”
“Nope. They broke up yesterday, she told me.”
James sighed. “Then I can’t stop you from doing anything.”
“No.”
They walked back in silence, and just as soon as James had sat down, Lily pulled him outside and they both sat on the stairs.
“What did he say?” She asked.
“Just that they were both singles, and he was starting to regret that he had broken up with her.”
Lily looked at him with slightly open mouth. Suddenly Sirius and Tess walked through the hall and outside without noticing James and Lily.
“Just let them have fun, will you?”
“Yeah. Sure. They have to enjoy the life while they can.”
“That’s my girl talking.” James said and kissed Lily.
“I’m your girl?” Lily laughed. “Like in you own me'?”
“No." James said quickly. "I know you wouldn’t let that happen. Therefore you’re just the girl I’m dating.”
“You’re sweet. Did you know that?” Lily couldn’t hold a smile back.
“Yeah. I have been told.” James leaned over and kissed Lily. “Oh, and while I remember it. Here.” James handled a small present over to Lily.
“Why?”
“Well since me and my parents are going to visit someone tomorrow a guess you should have your birthday present now. But don’t open it until tomorrow!”
“I won’t.” Lily said and kissed James.
“Good.”

Lily was in her room, chatting with Kate. It was two weeks after the smaller party at Sirius’s house, and she had not heard from James. He had not written to her once, not even after Lily wrote him a very long letter. She was starting to get nervous about if anything had happened to him. Or for some unknown reason to Lily, he was mad at her.
Kate seamed to catch that Lily was very absent-minded and suddenly stopped talking.
“Lily?” She asked.
“Yeah?” Lily looked up from her hands.
“Is there anything wrong? You seam a little absent-minded.”
Lily looked sad at Kate. “I haven’t heard from James for two weeks. Should I be worried?”
“No. If he hasn’t heard from you either, then-”
“He has. I wrote to him a week ago, but I didn’t get a letter back, just my owl.”
“It seams weird.”
“It’s just that! Why isn’t he writing back? Can’t he write back? I don’t know anything!”
Lily looked over at her table where the perfume and the lovely black night dress from James lay. She had really loved his present, but at the moment she would rather she could have an owl from him instead.
“Lily! When I was over here he really seamed to like you a lot… I don’t think he just would stop writing back to you. He seamed like a very nice guy.”
“But what’s wrong then?!”
“I can’t tell you.”
“Oh, Kate what am I going to do?”
“I don’t… hold on a second. You told me last year, that when you turned seventeen you could do something… I can’t remember what you called it, but go from on place to another place in less than a minute? Why don’t you go visit James to see what’s up?”
Lily was stunned. She couldn’t understand why she hadn’t thought of that. Kate looked at her, waiting for response.
Suddenly Lily started smashing her head at the wall. “STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!”
“Hey you! Stop that!” Kate exclaimed and stopped Lily from hitting her head at the wall.
“How can I have been that stupid?” Lily asked Kate.
“Don’t blame yourself! Go and visit James instead.”
“But what if he’s mad at me, and don’t want to talk to me?”
Kate gave her a look with raised eyebrows, telling Lily she was being silly now. Lily looked down.
“Why should he be mad at you?”
“I don’t know.” Lily mumbled.
“You’re being stupid now. If you haven’t giving him any reason, he’s not.”
Lily didn’t say anything, just looked up at Kate.
“Now go and do your thing!” Kate suddenly exclaimed.
She got up and grabbed Lily’s hand and dragged her out of the room. Lily just followed her outside.
“I’m sure nothing is wrong. Just go and check on him.” Kate said and gave Lily a hug.
“Thank you Kate.”
“It’s nothing. Just go now!”
“See you later.” Lily said and apparated.
The fresh air in Godric’s Hollow blew around Lily and made the summer seam less hot that it was. Lily looked around and started walking down the street James lived at.
Lily didn’t notice, but she almost ran when she reached the house. She walked up and knocked on the door. No response. Then she grabbed the doorknob. Locked. Lily started to get scared now. She tried to knock at the door once more.
“They’re not home, you know.”
Lily turned around so quickly she almost fell over.
A young man, not more than five years older than her, stood on the sidewalk and looked at her. He was wearing an ugly lime-green shirt and a hideous pair of trousers with red, green and brown stripes at. He had blonde hair and dark blue eyes.
Lily realized that she had been staring at him for several seconds. “Sorry?”
“They’re not home.” The man repeated.
“Do you know where they are?”
“Yeah. They’re at S-… Hold on a second. Who are you?”
“Oh, I’m sorry. Lily Evans, James’s girlfriend from school.”
“Oh, okay. I’m Edgar Bones. Had to ask. You can never be too careful in these times. You know with a maniac on the loose.”
Lily looked at him. She was not sure who the man was and what he knew, but she didn’t want to risk anything.
“Pardon?” She asked a bit unsure.
“Voldemort!” Edgar exclaimed.
“Sorry, I wasn’t sure if you were a-”
“A wizard? How could you know?”
Lily smiled and looked at the house “You said they weren’t home. Do you know where they are?”
“They went to St. Mungo’s… what is it? About a week ago I think.”
“What?”
“Yeah. I don’t exactly know why, but it went pretty fast.”
Lily didn’t say anything, but just looked horrified. What could probably be so wrong they had to go to St. Mungo’s?
“Don’t you want to go there?”
“Yes, but I don’t know where it is, so I can’t apparat.”
“You can use my fireplace if you want to?”
“Would you really let me do that?”
“Yeah. We have to help each other. This way.” Edgar said and started walking.
Lily followed.
The house Edgar lived in was just down the street. It was little, but Lily was sure that it was bigger inside, like the Potters’.
And sure Lily was right. As she entered the hall she saw a staircase on her right hand. She smiled to herself.
“It’s right in here.” Edgar said and pointed at a door.
Lily followed him into the living room. The living room was light and open, and the fireplace was at the wall across the door.
Edgar went over there and grabbed a jar. He offered it to Lily and she grabbed a handful of the powder.
“Thank you very much for this. I really appreciate this.”
“You’re welcome.” Edgar said, smiling. “Just go and see to them now.”
“Bye then.” Lily said and threw the powder inside the fire. “St. Mungo’s!”

Uhh, so now you know what was up! Nothing good, but who was the person who needed to go? Give me your guess here!

Lily landed on her back on the floor in the entrance hall of St. Mungo’s. She got up from the floor and smoothen her skirt out, then she looked around.
People were standing in a line to a witch that helped them. Lily’s eyes fell on a young boy whose skin was deep blue with sickly yellow coloured dots all over. The last man in the line had an extra pair of arms on each side of his body. Lily quickly went over behind him and waited until it was her turn.
“How can I help you?” The witch behind the counter asked.
Lily was shocked. What should she say? She didn’t know who she was here to visit. How stupid it actually sounded in her own head.
“Potter.” She said in a hoarse voice. “I’m here to see Potter.”
“Okay.” The witch said and looked at some papers. “That’s on second floor, ward five.”
“Thank you.”
Lily quickly moved out of the way and walked up the stairs to second floor. She looked down the small corridor and went over to the door to ward five. It would be rude just to walk in without knocking, Lily thought, so she knocked softly at the door, and then opened it slightly and looked inside.
James sat on a chair across his mother by a bed. He had his back at Lily, but he turned his head and looked at her. He was not smiling and his eyes did not shine in the same way as they used to be. He got up and walked over to Lily who had still not entered the room. She stepped a step back so James could enter the corridor with her.
“Hey. What are you doing here?” He asked in a low voice.
“I came here to see what was going on.” Lily answered and looked concerned.
“How did you know?”
“Long story. But I hadn’t heard from you for two weeks. I was getting really nervous you know!”
“Um, okay. Sorry for not telling you, but we kind…” James stopped a few seconds. “Well, we hadn’t time.”
“It’s okay. What has happened?”
James face saddened again and he looked down, so Lily took his one hand in hers.
“It’s umm… My father suffers from this pretty serious disease…” James looked up. “… He probably won’t survive, Lily.”
Lily was shocked. “Wha… What?”
“It’s this wizard disease. You can’t do anything about it. We just found out the day after we got here. There isn’t anything to do.”
“But… but they’re wizards for Merlin’s sake!” Lily said in a panicked voice. “They have… magic!”
James shrugged. “It’s just not good enough. There’s nothing to do…”
Lily could see James was close to crying, and he had small tears in the corners of his eyes, so she gave him a warm hug.
“I’m sorry.”
“I don’t know how to get through this, Lily. I don’t even know if I can.”
“You will. I know it. But for now, I think you should go in there and make use of time while there’s anything left of it.”
“You’re right.” James said slowly. “But he’s asleep right now. Mind a walk with me?”
“Sure. Let’s go.”
James slowly began walking down the corridor with Lily’s hand in his. None of them spoke, they just walked in silence.
Lily didn’t know what to say. She had herself been in the situation a few years ago, but suddenly found it very hard to say something comforting to James. She didn’t know if it was because she was closer to James than anyone else she had ever comforted, or if she just had little experience about people dying.
“How did you even know we were here?” James suddenly asked curiously.
“Err… Do you want the long or the short story?”
“The short is fine, thanks.”
“Okay. I came home to your house to see you, but you weren’t there, and then I ran into this man, Edgar Bones, and he told me where you all were and he sent me by his fireplace.”
James smiled. “Why did you come to see me?” He sat down at a single chair at the corridor.
“I hadn’t heard from you in two weeks. I wrote you an owl, but you didn’t answer.”
James took hold of Lily by her hips and slowly pulled her down at his lap and his arms around her waist, and Lily put her two arms around James’s neck.
“I’m sorry.” He said. “I got your letter just as we were about to go here. I didn’t have time. Sorry, I know I could have written I just didn't-.”
“It’s okay." Lily interupted. "I understand. It was probably just me, who was too paranoid, but it turned out I was a little right.”
“Thanks for coming.”
“It would just not be right to leave you alone when you need someone.”
“I love you.”
“And I love you.” Lily quickly kissed James.

Hey biggrin.gif !
Okay. I’m sad to say this, but this will be the last post for a very long time! As in about ten hours I’m taking an airplane and will first be back in a week, and then there’s DH! WUHU! And I don’t know about you, but I’ll much better read that than this. Then I have to read it a few times and correct all the mistakes and wrong things I’ve written in the upcoming chapters so it’ll fit into what JKR have written. So please, enjoy the last chapter from here.
But I must warn you: if you don’t like cliffhangers, please, close the window NOW and don’t read on. Short chapter and huge cliffhanger coming!

Lily spent most of the next four days at St. Mungo’s. She was home at night, but she felt that James needed her by his side. At the fifth day Lily arrived to St. Mungo’s in the early afternoon. When she came up to Jonathan’s ward she saw Helena and James talking to a tall blonde male healer. Since James was much taller than his mother he had his arm around her shoulders.
Lily walked inside, James and Helena turned around and looked at Lily. The healer had stopped talking too.
“Is she with you?” The healer asked after some time.
“Yeah.” James said and tried to smile.
Lily got over there and looked at the healer, who was about to say something important, Lily knew. She grabbed James’s other hand.
“All right. As I was saying, we have located the illness inside the body, and I’m afraid that it looks much worse than we first thought.” He lowered his voice. “I can’t guarantee you more than twenty-four hours.”
James and Helena looked shocked. None of them moved their gazes from the healer.
“Okay. Then thank you for the help.” Helena said after some time.
“I’m sorry.”
“You did what you could.” James said.
The healer nodded and walked out.
They all looked at Jonathan in the bed; he was asleep.
“I’ll just go out to get some fresh air.” Helena said and left James and Lily alone.
Lily looked up at James. It seamed like he was going crack any second. Lily quickly grabbed James’s hand and dragged him out in the corridor.
“This is my entire fault.” James said as soon as the door had closed behind them. “I even saw some of the signs, but didn’t pay any notice to them.”
“James, that’s not helping now.” Lily said comforting. She didn’t want James to fell worse than already.
“I mean… if I just had paid a little more notice to the things around me.”
“Stop that, will you?”
“All those things I could have done!”
“James, stop blaming yourself.”
James was not to be stopped. It was like he wasn’t even listening to Lily anymore. Even though the situation Lily got a little mad at James because he didn’t listen to him.
“And what if I-”
“James! There’s nothing you could have done!”
“Yes there was.”
“No! And will you please stop!”
“I could have seen the signs, Lily!” James voice had risen, and Lily would not be surprised if the whole floor could hear them.
“James Potter you stop now. I repeat myself: there’s nothing you could have done!” Lily herself raised her voice as an attempt to try to make James listen.
“What do you know about it?! You just stand there like-like… like you know everything. But guess what? You don’t!”
“I have been in the situation myself! And I know the feeling, but if you don’t want to listen to me, then just go and carry on with destroying yourself. I’m not gonna watch it.”
“Fine! Because I’m LEAVING!” James yelled and stormed down the corridor.
Lily looked after him and suddenly became aware of how it must have sounded.
“James…" She whispered and felt a few tears in her eyes. "I didn’t mean to…”

Lily stood alone back right outside the ward and breathed loud and heavily, tears forming in her eyes. She didn’t know what to do. At last she decided to walk into Jonathan and Helena, but when she got in there, only Jonathan lay in his bed. She had forgotten that Helena had walked out to get fresh air.
Lily walked over to his bedside and sat down at a chair with her head in her hands. She could not cope with all this right now. James mad at her and just as his father had less than 24 hours to live in. It was too much. She sighed loudly.
“Go talk to him.”
Lily looked startled up at Jonathan. “What?”
She thought he had been sleeping, but he was awake, and had probably heard everything James and she had yelled.
“Talk to James.” He said simply. “You two should not be on bad terms. You are meant to be.”
“I’m sorry. I don’t quite understand.” Lily said confused.
“You and James.” Jonathan said and breathe in. “I’ll tell you something, Lily. And you shall listen very attentive. It’s about you and James… mostly James. He really cares about you. I can see that this you two have is more than just a fling, he truly loves you, and it shines out of him. And it shines out of you too, you know. It’s quite easy to see… You two are both stubborn, good-hearted and so much more. None of you will voluntary bow under to the other one, but someone has to do it, otherwise you are dooming something more wonderful that you will ever have again. Don’t do that… You and James are meant to be. Of course James has his faults, but he’s full of good intentions. Even though he seams stupid and thoughtless sometimes, and let his feeling carry him away so he say things he doesn’t mean, he never means to do any harm, remember that Lily. Don’t let go of him, he would never let go of you.” He was silent for a couple of minutes, while looking at Lily. “Think of what I have told you, and talk to James about it. Then I can ask for no more.”
Lily sat back with slightly open mouth and tears in her eyes. Jonathan was right, and he knew it. She looked out of the window, it took some time to it all absorbed and she started to bite herself in the lip. After a minute she looked down at Jonathan who looked at her over his glasses.
“So?” He asked. “Are you going?”
“Thank you so much!”
She got up and stormed out. She didn’t know where James had gone so she headed to the cafeteria at fifth floor. She almost ran up the stairs all the way op. Jonathan was right. It was Lily who should be the one to apologize now, because James needed her more than ever and he probably couldn’t handle all this at the same time.
The cafeteria was big and filled with small tables and there were big windows on the wall that turned out to the mugglestreet. People in there were drinking smoking drinks and eating all kinds of food, or just smoking on a pipe or reading some newspaper. In the corner farthest away sat James and looked out of the window and down at the street, he had not seen Lily and probably wouldn’t before she got over there.
Lily walked over there and sat down at a chair opposite James. He only looked at her for half a second before turning his gaze at the street again.
“James…” Lily said silently.
James did not say anything, not even show that he had heard her. But Lily would not stop because of that. She sighed.
“James… my father died from this very serious thing called cancer. It’s a muggle-disease and there can’t be done much about it. We too saw the signs but didn’t think it was that, or we ignored it. When we found out, it was too late, and he died much quicker than we would ever have thought. That’s why I know how you feel. I felt the guilt too, and I got past it. You have too… It’s not time for us to be on bad terms. Your father needs you just as much as you need him. And don’t let his last words in this world be said in vain. I didn’t mean to sound so arrogant and unfeeling, but you can’t go blame yourself. Remember: it didn’t lead me anywhere, and will not lead you anywhere either… I love you, and you know that. I just want the best for you. Therefore I need you to go down and enjoy the last hours your father is here.”
James had still not looked at Lily, and she could not even see his eyes for his hands. He cleared his throat.
“James, please!” Lily said. She was close to tears now.
James suddenly looked at her. Lily was surprised to se some tears falling from his eyes. He removed his glasses and looked at Lily.
“You know what scares me the most?”
Lily shook her head.
“In 24 hours I can’t go talk to him anymore. My mother is there of course, but she’s… she’s not my dad. He’s… The one I have talked to about you since I fell in love with you. The one who helped me pulling pranks on the neighbours and hide afterwards. The one who made me the one I am today.”
Lily smiled sadly. “That’s the hard fact of life. The only thing that’s for sure is that we die. It’s sad, but true.”
James sighed and put his glasses on again.
“I’m sorry Lily. I shouldn’t have yelled at you. Of course you were right. I shall not go and blame myself… Will you forgive me?”
“There’s nothing to forgive.”
Both of them sat and looked out of the window for a while.
“I think we should go down now.” Lily said at last. “Your father probably wants to see us friends again.”
James nodded. “Yeah.”

No real cliffhanger, so hope you're happy! biggrin.gif Leave feedback!

Hey!
Okay, sad chapter comming! Really.

85
When Lily and James got back to the ward, Helena was there. She smiled as she saw them, which confirmed Lily that Jonathan had told about the row she had had with James.
James went over to the bedside and sat down in chair next to his mother. He started a conversation with his father.
Lily somehow felt that they needed to spend some time with each other and left the small family alone. The corridors seamed emptier than they had done for all the days Lily had been there. She sat down in the lonely chair James had sat in for something that seamed like months ago. She swung her legs over the armrest and let her head rest on the wall with closed eyes. She sighed. What a headache! Her thoughts rushed around in her head and didn’t seam to want to settle down. In twenty-four hours James would have no dad anymore. It was a scary though, and Lily didn’t want to dwell at them.

“Lily.” A voice was heard. “Lily, wake up.”
Lily opened her eyes, she must have fallen asleep, and James stood bent over her.
“What?” She asked sleepily.
“You have been sleeping here for three hours. I wanted you to come into us.”
“Sure. I’ll be right up.”
James took her hands and pulled her gently up. “Come on.”
Lily was a little bit sleepy yet and her head spun around, so James had his arm around her on the way. When they got inside the ward James sat down with Lily on his lap and his arms around her. Lily looked at Helena. She held Jonathan’s hand in her own and she had tears in her eyes. Jonathan’s breathing was in short and loud blows, but he smiled which surprised Lily.
“You shall not all look so sad!” He said slowly.
None of them said something, so Lily cleared her throat.
“It’s hard to tell how else to look.”
“No it’s not. In the last hours of my life I don’t want to look at sad people.”
“I’m sorry dad.” James said and took his father’s one hand. “It’s just because… Well, we’re going to miss you.”
“All of us.” Lily added.
Jonathan turned his heads to Lily and James.
“You know what, Lily?”
Lily shook her head.
“I’m glad you finally gave James a chance. Then I know that my son at least found love and will not go around thinking of a way to make you go out with him. That’s one of the only things that matters to me. You two will have me blessing to whatever you decide to do later in life. Getting married, have children… Anything.”
Lily couldn’t hold a smile back, and when she looked at James, she could see that he too was smiling through the tears that shinned in his eyes.
“Never just let go, son. Keep fighting.” Jonathan said to James before turning his head to Helena. “It will be lonely on the other side without you.”
Helena bent over and gave her husband a kiss, a kiss that contained all the love you possible could give to a dying person. Lily had not seen anything sadder: two people who were not going to be together again, but seamed so happy and young when they were. As they broke apart both Helena and Jonathan had tears in the eyes.
“I love you.” Helena said.
“I love you too.” Jonathan said and closed his eyes.
Lily had the feeling that he was not going to open them again. And sure she was right. Jonathan took a last breath and lay still.
Helena exclaimed a silent cry of sorrow, and let her head fall down on Jonathan’s white thin blanket where she continued to sob.
Lily felt James grip around tighten slightly and she quickly put her arms around him. James let his head rest on Lily’s shoulder and started to cry quietly. Lily removed his glasses for him. She too had harder to see anything because of the tears which would not fall down from her eyes and just blocked her gaze. She softly stroke James’s hair, which seamed to feel sorrow too because it lay almost flat to his head and wasn’t messy at all for one of the first times of his life.

Hey!
Sorry, the last chapter was so sad. This might be a bit sad too, but not nearly in the same class. It’s just the funeral.

86
The next couple of days went slowly and was quite. They had returned to Godric’s Hollow the same day as they didn’t have more to do at St. Mungo’s. Sirius came by a day and helped getting the backyard ready to the funeral which was set to five days after the death. Lily helped Helena writing to people; in case of they didn’t hear it in other ways. James spent most of the time at his room, doing nothing. Sirius had tried to go up and talk to him, but it didn’t seam like James wanted to talk about it.
At the day of the funeral Lily had had enough. She walked up the stairs to James and her room, and found him sitting on his bed with his back at her. Lily walked over there and sat down beside him.
“James, please talk to me.” She started “It’s not any good to just sit here all alone and let your thoughts destroy you.”
“I know.” James said simple. “I just had never thought it would be this bad.”
“Nor did I when my dad died. But we all have to move on, and it’s much easier if you come down and talk to Sirius or me. Or even your dad who’s lying in the coffin out there.”
James looked up from his hands and at Lily. “You seam so wise. How have you become like this?”
“Because I tried it myself, remember? And you know what I did when my dad died?”
James shook his head slowly.
“I talked to him. I got past the state where you get embarrassed and I told him about every feeling he had left inside of me after he died. How mad I was because he had left me alone way to early, how I was going to miss him. Everything… It really helped me, James.”
James got up. “You’re right.” He said and nodded. “I have to go down and talk to him. Before everything goes crazy.”
Two hours later people began to arrive, and sit down on the chairs in front of the coffin. Lily recognized some of the people. Among them her and James’s former head master; Albus Dumbledore, Edgar Bones, Sirius and the rest of the marauders. But most of the other people Lily had never seen before but was polite to everyone and condoled to those she could see had known Jonathan very well.
When everyone was settled an old windblown wizard got up and started a speech about Jonathan. Lily had a hard time listening with James by her side and the sorrow inside of herself. She could not believe that both she and James had no longer a father. She began to think at her own father’s funeral. It had been a nightmare. People kept coming over to her, Petunia and her mother to condole. There had been so many wonderful speeches and her mother could almost not stop crying. Lily had been visiting his grave almost every week when she could and brought flowers every time.
Suddenly everyone stood up and the ceremony had come to the end. Lily shook herself out of the trance she had been sitting in. She grabbed James by the upper arm and pulled him up so they both stood up.

The funeral had long ended and James was nowhere to be seen. Lily walked around inside the house over and over again, but still with the same result. She sat down at a chair in her and James’s room and looked out the window. Even the weather seamed sad. The sun was not shining and it was filled with clouds. Suddenly she noticed some very messy black hair behind a shrubbery that stood in the back of the garden. James!
Lily got up and ran down the stairs. The back of the garden was a mess and Lily wondered how James had managed to get through all the bushes. Finally Lily won the fight and dropped out from the bushes in front of James.
“I have been looking for you, you know!” Lily said as she got up and brushed some twigs of her black top.
“Sorry.” James just said.
“It’s okay. I guess you needed to get away.”
“Yeah.”
Lily didn’t response, she felt that James was about to say something more. But several minutes passed before he did.
“When I was much smaller, I used to hide me here when I had made trouble and I knew my mother would be mad.” James said and went silent again.
Lily still didn’t say anything because she knew James had more to say about it.
“My father knew where I was but my mother didn’t, and he didn’t tell her. He always found it funny to watch all the things I messed up, and I kind of think he supported me… even when my mother was very grumpy. This became my own place. And look at the view! It’s beautiful, and perfect. You’re actually very lucky I didn’t kick you away when you burst into my own paradise.”
Lily laughed a little. She understood why James called it a paradise.
If the sun had been shining it would have reflected the waves in a little lake at the foot of the little hill they sat on the top at. At the one side of the lake was there threes and on the other side a meadow filled with blossoming flowers in all the colours of the rainbow.
Lily suddenly felt James hand take hold of her hand. She looked up at him and saw him smile sadly down at her.
“Come.” He said. “I know a better way out from here than your way in.”

A bit longer than usual, but not much happened. Leave some feedback for the murderer of Jonathan Potter! (Very harsh spoken)

Okay, I give you two chapters as they’re so short. Though I’m no at all pleased with them, but I really wanted to get them up to you as I won’t be able to post in a couple of days and I'm a bit busy right now so I didn't give it time to be looked through. Enjoy as mush as you can wink.gif

87
As the summer became autumn everything seamed to get into the better for James and Helena. Lily had gone home the day after the funeral and had left them alone. She knew they needed the space.
Tess and Wendy had come to visit Lily a day in the beginning of September; they sat in Lily’s room when Tess came with a piece of news that shocked Lily and Wendy.
“You’re what?!” Lily almost yelled.
“I’m moving.” Tess said again.
“To where?” Wendy asked.
“America.”
“What are you doing there?”
Lily was shocked and couldn’t find any words to say.
“My uncle, who lives over there, has offered me a job.” Tess explained.
“As what?”
“A keeper in this zoological park of magical animals. It’s what I always have dreamed of.” Tess said and looked out of a window.
“Can’t you be that another place? Here, in England?” Wendy asked.
“It’s the only one that exists.”
“Man, this is really depressing!”
“I won’t forget about you.” Tess assured them.
“No, but it will not be the same without you.” Lily said honestly.
She just knew it wouldn’t. The three of them had been best friends since their first year at Hogwarts, and had never left each other’s side. It was all going to change now.
“Definitely not!” Wendy added.
There was silence for a couple of minutes while all of the girls looked out of the window.
“So, when are you leaving?” Lily finally asked.
“In two weeks.” Tess answered and looked down.
“That’s soon.” Lily said and let herself fall back on her bed.
“Please don’t hate me for it.”
“Of course we won’t hate you!” Wendy said and gave Tess a hug.
“Have you told Sirius?” Lily asked.
“Yes.”
“What does he say to it?”
“Why would he care? It has never been more than just a fling that we have.”
Lily looked at Tess. “So he doesn’t care?”
“Of course he does. Actually he’s throwing a party for me the day before I leave.”
“That’s nice of him.”
“Yeah. It is. I’m really going to miss him too.”
“I understand. Too bad it would never be more between you.” Lily said.
“Nah. It’s okay. It was never like that you and James has.”
Lily smiled at Tess.

88
The next two weeks passed away quickly and suddenly it was the day of Sirius’s party for Tess. The three girls had spent the day together and arrived at Sirius’s house together at 8. On the inside were filled with people, but Lily didn’t know half of them.
“Who are all these people?” Lily asked Tess.
“People I know. Some of them are muggles I know from where I live… Lived” She added.
“Oh. Okay. Do they know about you?”
“Sure. Come and say hello to them.”
Tess introduced them all to each other and Lily found that it was some nice friends she had. Lily had not seen any sign of James, and was about to doubt if he even would be there. When she asked Tess, she said that James had assured that he would be there.
Lily found it very interesting talking to some Tess’s muggle friends and she suddenly found herself in a deep conversation with a girl named Amanda who had known Tess from they were seven. Amanda was very sweet and Lily liked her view on the wizardig world.
Suddenly two hands were blocking Lily’s view and she could feel someone came close to her one side.
“Guess who!”
Lily removed the hands and spun around to kiss James.
“Why did you take so long to get here?” She asked when they broke apart.
“Had something to help my mother with first. But I’m here now.” he said and winked at her.
“I’m glad.”
“Good. I’m just going to find Sirius. Have fun.” James said at last and walked away.
“Is he your boyfriend?” Amanda said as se watched James talk to Sirius.
“Yeah.” Lily answered and smiled.
“For how long?”
Lily looked at Amanda in a thinking way. “Nine months I think… almost ten.”
“That’s a long time.”
“No it isn’t. It feels like weeks instead. James really makes every minute wonderful and makes time pass more quickly.”
Amanda smiled at Lily. “It’s not many who can say that.”
Lily made a little laugh. She turned around and caught James eye. He smiled his flirty smile at her and Lily couldn’t help but blush and smile back at him before he turned back to his conversation with Sirius.
Another girl came to talk to Amanda and Lily walked over behind James. He hadn’t seen her yet and was very surprised when Lily’s arms suddenly were around his upper part of the body. He gave jump and then spun around.
“Damn, Lily. You surprised me there.”
“Why? It’s just me.”
“It could have been any girl at this party.”
“You sure have some high thoughts about yourself, right?” Lily said and raised an eyebrow.
James smiled. “Well, yeah.” He said and shrugged. “That’s what makes you like me.”
Lily laughed. “You wish.”
“Just say you hate me.”
“You know I don’t hate you.” Lily said and gave James a soft kiss. “Oi, where did Sirius go?” James turned around and found that Sirius had left. He looked around in the room.
“I kind of hope it’s him standing in that corner, saying goodbye to Tess.” He grinned and pointed.
Lily looked at two persons standing very close in the corner and nodded. “Yep. It’s him.”
She and James grinned at each other before they parted and Lily went over and talked to Wendy.
It was long past midnight when the party came to an end. Tess had said good bye to everyone except Lily and Wendy. The three girls had met just outside and was hugging good bye.
“I’m going to miss you so much!” Tess said tearfully.
“And we’ll miss you so much!” Lily said and gave Tess another hug.
“I can’t believe that you’re leaving us like that!” Wendy said. She was crying.
“Me neither.” Tess said and she started crying silently too. “But we’ll see each other again. And we’ll be together all three again. I promise!”
The three girls gave each other a big hug again before the door to the inside opened up. It was Sirius.
“Hey.” He just said and looked at Tess.
“Hey you.” She said.
“Come in and say good bye before you’re leaving.” Lily said and left Sirius and Tess alone.
Five minutes after Sirius and Tess came in. They were holding hands.
Tess caught the attention of the guests. “I just want to say good bye to you all.” She said. “Because this is it. I’m leaving now. And I’m going to miss you all.”
There was silence for a while before Lily stood up.
“To Tess!” She exclaimed and raised her glass.
“To Tess…” It resounded in the small living room.

Okay, as I don’t like killing people, and some certain people will have to ‘leave’ this story sooner or later, I decided to make Tess move instead of killing her of because I like her so much. Hope you’re not too disappointed.

Feedback is always welcome.

Hey! I’m back. Sorry it took so long time.
No offence to this chapter, but I really don’t like it. Something just seamed wrong when I wrote it… I hope you like it more than I do.

89
It had been almost a month since Tess had left and Lily was starting to get used to not see her every other day when she wanted. There had been at least five attack or murders in the Daily Prophet, but Lily was getting more used to it and was starting to only feel sorry for those who was the victims. She knew that there wasn’t anything she could to it, even though she would love to help.
A day her mother had invited Petunia and Vernon to dinner and Petunia had arrived there half an hour before. She just wanted to check that Lily would hide her wand so she could not to perform any magic.
“I get it!” Lily said impatient to Petunia for what seamed like the four hundred and twenty eighth time.
“You better do, because I want to keep it as a secret. And then you and all your freak-stuff have to back off.”
“Will you at least try to listen to me? I’ll not do anything.” Lily had a hard time to control her temper which had risen to an alarming high.
“Just like I said. By the way don’t you have some freak friends to visit? Or a freak boyfriend?”
“You shut your mouth right now!” Lily could handle Petunia calling her a freak, but she should absolutely not call her friends or James freaks.
Petunia looked at Lily in triumph. She had found something Lily could not just act cold about.
“So you have managed to get yourself a freak-friend?” Petunia said and smiled.
“Mind your own business!” Lily said, trying to suppress her anger.
Suddenly with no warning, a glass that stood on the table exploded.
Petunia screamed out loud, but right after the scream it knocked on the door and she ran out there.
Lily stood back breathing loud and her temper was on the highest. She saw Vernon take his coat off in the hall and he and Petunia came inside the room where Lily where.
“Hello.” Vernon greeted.
Lily didn’t response or even smile, so Petunia sent her a nasty look. This made Lily even madder. Petunia should not call her friends freaks and she should not decide how Lily should act when Vernon where here.
A glass more exploded.
“Where came that from?” Vernon asked and looked shocked.
“Don’t you think you should go and help mom in the kitchen, Lily?” Petunia asked.
“No, I’m fine.” Lily said and gave her a cold smile.
“Lily!”
“Petunia!”
Petunia walked over to Lily. “Grab yourself! Try to act normal, or haven’t you and you freak friends learned that at school?” She whispered so only Lily could hear.
Lily spun around more quickly than seamed possible. She started walking towards her room. She made a smaller outcome with her hand at the windows and they smashed.
“Lily!”
Lily turned around and was facing Petunia and Vernon when she made another outcome with her hand and a small puppet of glass flew right over to her from shelf at the wall. It was floating around in front of Lily. She knew her sister loved the puppet because she had gotten it from their father two weeks before he died, and Lily was ready to use that fact.
“Lily, NO!”
“Give me one good reason!”
“I beg you!”
“You better do!” Lily made another of Petunia’s ornament that looked like a peacock fly from the shelf fly over there.
Petunia didn’t like this one as much as the puppet, but Lily knew she loved this one too. The two things floated in front of Lily while the rest of the ornaments from the shelf left their places too. They flew around in the room and Petunia was screaming. Vernon looked shocked, ready to pass out.
Lily and Petunia looked at each other, and suddenly Lily let her hands fall down and all the ornaments too. The peacock smashed as it hit the floor and Petunia screamed.
Lily ran up to her room and smacked the door. She had never done anything like this before. She had made glasses smash before when she was angry or upset, but what she had just done was the first time she had been able to control the magic, or even make that kind of magic without a wand.
Lily packed all her stuff in a suitcase quickly and looked around to see if she had left anything. She looked at the pictures at the wall. She let them fly over to her. Then she apparated away with a crack.

Hello!
Cliffhanger in the end! just so you know wink.gif Please R&R - thanks! biggrin.gif

James was walking out of the bathroom while pulling a shirt over the head. The house was quite because his mother was in London. James was about to go into the kitchen when someone knocked at the door. When he opened the door he saw Lily standing with a small suitcase and looking rather unhappy.
“Hey baby. What’s up?” James asked concerned.
“I just had an argument with my sister.” Lily said and walked inside. “I got so mad I performed magic in front of her and her big husband, Vernon.”
“Wow. You must really have been mad if you lost your head like that. You have never done that before.”
“I have never been so mad in my entire life,” she said honestly.
“What did she do that made you that mad?” he asked, frowning.
“Things about you… and Tess and Wendy. I miss Tess.”
James gave her a hug. “We all do… Shall I help you unpack?”
“No. I can do it myself.”
Lily walked up to unpack and when she had finished she joined James in the kitchen.
“You know what?” James asked her when she entered.
“No what?” Lily asked back.
“I think you need to relax. Go on a date with me some time.”
Lily looked at James for a while. “Yeah.”
“So, what are you doing tomorrow evening?”
“On a date with you guess?” Lily grinned.
“Correct.”
“So,” Lily begun and sat down. “Where are we going and what are we doing?”
“Wear something fine. I can’t tell you more. Then it’s no surprise.”
“You’re a genius.”
“You don’t need to tell me that.”
Lily raised an eyebrow at him. “Right…”

The next day Lily was very excited about her and James’s date. James had asked her to be ready at seven, and sure Lily was ready before. She had their room for herself and James was nowhere to be seen or even heard.
At seven it knocked on the door and Lily opened it. James stood there in the doorway looking very gorgeous with dress robes on. Lily had assumed that they were going somewhere in the wizarding world so she had found one of her best dresses to wear.
“You look beautiful.” James said and kissed Lily’s cheek.
“Such a gentleman you can be.” Lily said and smiled.
“I know. Now come on.” James grabbed her hand and they went down the stairs together.
“Have a great night.” Helena called from the kitchen.
“Sure.” James called back and he and Lily walked out the door.
They walked up to the spot where to apart from and James asked Lily to take his hand. Lily did and James apparated them both away.
Next, Lily felt a cool breeze brush against her face. She opened her eyes and found herself in a place she had never been.
“This way.” James said and took her hand.
They walked inside a little restaurant and James asked a waiter to show them their seats. The place was very romantic, Lily thought. There were candle lights everywhere and a fine violinist was playing the violin.
“It’s beautiful, James. But where are we?”
“Diagon Alley is just around that corner.” James said and pointed out of the window.
“It all looks so posh.”
“This place is nothing compared to some of the others that lies on this street.”
Lily smiled.
Short time after came a waiter and they ordered something to eat. The whole evening went perfect. The waiters in the restaurant were doing all kinds of wonderful magic that impressed guests of the restaurant over and over again. As Lily and James had paid and was about to leave a loud scream of horror was heard outside.
Lily and James looked at each other and ran out there. There was nothing to be seen, but another scream was head from the Diagon Alley.
“Come on!” Jams said and ran around the corner.
Some of the other guests from the restaurants ran after them. Around the corner was a shop in fire and two persons lay unconscious at the ground. Two other persons with masks were laughing of a fifth man that was hanging upside down in the air.
“Death Eaters.” Lily muttered.
James found his wand from a pocked and pointed it towards the one man.
“Stupefy!”
And the man fell backwards. The other man looked at James through the mask, then he flicked his wand and there was a small explosion between James and Lily. After that he disapparated. The man in the air was still hanging upside down so James pointed his wand at him and made him come down again.
While some of the other onlookers ran over to see at the two men who lay down and the third that stood up, James looked at Lily. She was lying on the ground, unconscious.
“Lily?” He tried, but when nothing happened he flicked his wand at her and muttered a spell.
That didn’t help either. James swore to himself, and then he lifted Lily up in his arms. He looked once more at the men on the ground. They were surrounded by others and would do fine.
“St. Mungo’s.” James muttered to himself and disapparated.

Next chapter will be up sometime tomorrow. Oh, and drop by the feedback thread and give me some biggrin.gif

Okay, I’m going away today and I won’t be home until Saturday I think. Sorry. No cliffhanger!

91
People who were screaming. A man who were hanging upside down in the air. An explosion, then pain and darkness.
Lily blinked a couple of times. A light was binding her so she looked away. She could see James in a chair beside her, and feel his hand hold onto hers. As Lily tried to move James lifted his head and looked at her. He looked concerned.
“How are you?” He asked.
Lily tried to say ‘Fine’ but it seamed like the words didn’t want to get out.
“There’s coming a healer to check on you in a minute.” James said.
Lily nodded slightly. She cleared her throat. “Wha’ ‘appened?” Her voice was very hoarse.
“It was Death Eaters… and they were attacking a shop and its owners.”
“Okay. And what about me?”
“Well… One of them shot some spell at the ground between us and you passed out.”
“Oh… And for how long have I been here?”
“Err… three days I think…”
“Wow.”
“Yeah. I was afraid, but the healers told you would wake up.”
The healer came in to se to Lily. They were told that Lily would be discharged in two days, but until then, she needed rest.
After a couple of hours where Lily and James were alone on the ward, someone knocked on the door.
“Yeah?” James asked.
The door opened and none other than their former headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, walked through.
“Hello…” Lily said hesitant.
“Good day Lily, James.” Dumbledore said and nodded.
“What has caused us your visit?” James asked.
“The attack in Diagon Alley two days ago. I believe you were there.”
“Yeah.” Lily said and nodded. She pushed herself a little up in the bed.
“And I believe you, James, fought one of the Death Eaters. The one that is now in Azkaban.”
“True.” James said.
“Well done.” Dumbledore leaned back in the chair he sat in.
“That’s not all you came here to hear, was it?” Lily asked; she wondered if Dumbledore had just come to hear that.
“No.”
“Then what more can we help you with?” James asked.
Dumbledore flicked his wand at the door. “I don’t want people to hear this.” He said simple after receiving questioned looks from Lily and James. “I don’t believe you have heard about the ‘Order of the Phoenix’ before?”
Both Lily and James shook their heads.
“Well…It’s an organisation that works against Voldemort, who I know you have heard about. I want you to join us along with others that go against him. I assume that you share me and the others in the Order’s views and attitudes towards him after what I have heard.”
James nodded slightly and Lily just looked at Dumbledore.
“This Order.” James started. “It works against Voldemort and is trying to fight him, right?”
“Yes.”
“And we can help by joining you?”
“Yes.”
“I don’t think there’s more than one answer then.” James said and looked down at Lily.
Lily looked with determination at Dumbledore while touching a big lump on her head she had gotten after the fall. Then she nodded.
“Of course.”
Dumbledore clapped his hands together and got up. “Great. I’m in a hurry now so you’ll hear from me in one of the following days.”
“Okay.” Lily said.
James just nodded.
“Best wishes for a speedy recovery. And good day.” Dumbledore said and left James and Lily alone.

Hey! I'm back. I give you two chapter because it has been a long time and they are kind of short. Happy reading!

92
“Hello! James Potter. This is Lily Evans.”
“Sturgis Podmore. Nice to meet you.”
James shook hands with a young man he had never met before, but thought was about two years older than himself.
He and Lily had gotten a quick visit from Dumbledore who told them to meet up at this house they now were in. James and Lily were now going around saying hello to everyone, which was not many, just around 11.
“Hey Edgar!” Lily said as she shook hands with a man James knew lived in Godric’s Hollow. He had never really talked to this Edgar, but his parents, now just his mother, was talking a lot to Edgar’s.
“Hey Lily. Nice to see you here.”
“Thank you.” Lily turned to James. “James, this is that Edgar who told me you had gone to St. Mungo’s that day…”
“Oh. Okay. Nice to meet you, Edgar.”
Edgar nodded and smiled as Lily and James moved on.
After they had said hello to everyone in the room they sat down at the end at he table that had been arranged.
At the end of the table they could see Dumbledore get up.
“Welcome everyone,” He began. “To our third meeting of the ‘Order of the Phoenix’. I’m glad to see that everyone has returned once more. We even have three new faces among us: Emmeline Vance, James Potter and Lily Evans. Welcome to you.”
Lily and James both nodded and smiled at Dumbledore, and so did another young woman a little longer down the table.
“So let’s start up the meeting, shall we?” Dumbledore said and sat down.
At the end of the meeting Lily and James had gotten a very good insight into what the order was doing. Some were working on getting new members others were tracing Death Eaters and trying to get them sent to Azkaban.
“That was quite interesting.” Lily said when they had apparated to Godric’s Hollow and was on the way home to James.
“Yeah. It was.”
“And I’m glad we can finally do something to this situation.”
“Yeah. I’m just afraid that we are some of the only once that is not too afraid to stand up.”
“They are afraid of what will happen to them.”
“Who is not at these times? Some don’t even dare to say his name any more…”
“Voldemort’s?”
“Yeah. They call him ‘You-Know-Who’.”
“It’s horrible how scarred people can get.” Lily said and shook her head slowly.
“It is…”

93
“Lily?”
“Mmm?”
James moved a little in the bed where he lay side by side with Lily and his arms around her. It was the day after the meeting with the Order.
“You know… You have been here for almost two weeks, and you still have not talked to your sister or mother.”
Lily sat up. “I wrote an owl to my mother. She’s not mad.”
“What about your sister?” James said and sat up too
“Well, I have not talked to her since then.”
“Don’t you think you should?”
Lily was silent and looked down while James looked at her.
“Lily?” He asked and looked urgent at her.
“I can’t do it James…” She said and looked up. “If I go there, she’ll just make me mad again and I’ll do magic again.”
“Then I’ll go with you.” James offered.
Lily looked at James for a while. “All right. But you have to be there the whole time!”
“I promise.” James kissed her cheek. “So, where’re we going?”
“Little Whinging.”
“Have no idea about where it is.”
“Me neither. But we’ll find it.”
“I think we should go tomorrow.”
“Okay… Just don’t make me say things that I’ll regret.”

Lily raised her hand and knocked at the door to number four, Privet Drive. Her sister’s house. Some seconds went before she and James heard footsteps inside. The door opened and Petunia stood and looked at Lily and James. Nothing happened for about two seconds before Petunia was about to get very angry.
“How dare you turn up here?” She hissed to Lily.
Lily who was smaller than her sister seamed to shrink in front of James so he put his arms around her. It seamed to help Lily and she straightened her back.
“I just came here to…” Lily’s voice broke over.
“Lily just came here to apologize.” James said for Lily. “She didn’t mean to lose her head like that.”
Petunia seamed stunned for being talked to by this stranger man, but quickly pulled her up.
“I had to tell Vernon about you!” She said.
Lily shook herself. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.”
Petunia looked at Lily for a while. “You’re forgiven. And tell me who this is you have brought.” Petunia spoke as James wasn’t able to hear what she said, but James ignored it.
“I’m James Potter. Lily’s boyfriend.” James shook Petunia’s hand.
“All right.”
There were some seconds of awkward silence.
“If that was all…” Petunia begun. “I have things to do so…”
“We’ll go.” James said. “We just came here to say that.”
“Bye.” Lily said as Petunia closed the door.
“That didn’t go that bad.” James said as he and Lily was walking down the street on their way home.
“Oh yes it did.” Lily said and made a little laugh. “She just said that things were all okay. But I could see that she have not forgiven me for showing magic.”
“She’ll come around sooner or later.” James said as he put his arm around Lily and kissed her cheek.
“To be honest, I don’t even know if she will.”
“That’s sad.”
“Not as much as you think… We never had that sister-bond that all sisters have. Of course we were good friends when we were smaller, but after our dad’s death, we kind of grew apart.”
“I’m sorry.”
“It doesn’t matter now.” Lily said and shrugged her shoulders.
When they were sure no one saw them, they said goodbye and Lily apparated home to herself and James to his house.

As November neared its end, Lily got herself a job interview in the Ministry of Magic. She got the job as an Obliviator. She had been to some trainings and lessons to learn what she had to do, and after that she had been applied of the job in the ministry. This was an important job to Lily because of more reasons. The Order needed some of the members to be in the Ministry because there would be Death Eaters too. Another reason was that if Lily should out and talk to people who had seen something that could be Voldemort and his followers. Lily enjoyed doing something again, even though she spent a lot of time in the Ministry.
James had been to tryout at the Ballycastle Bats. And had gotten spot on the reserve team. He was very happy about it, and Lily was very proud.
James had come to visit Lily one day. They had agreed on spending the evening just the two of them, but when the telephone rang their plans changed. Lily picked it up.
“Yeah…Oh, hi...um, nothing I guess…James is here, can I bring him?...Thank you…see you then… okay, bye.”
James looked at Lily in an asking way.
“It was Jackie. There’s party over there tonight. I said we would be there.”
“Um okay. But where did you get that from?” James looked at her confused.
Suddenly Lily began to laugh. “I’m sorry. It’s a phone. You can talk to others that are on the other side of the earth in those. Mugglething.”
“Weird.” James said and smiled.

James and Lily were outside of Jackie’s house at 9. Jackie opened the door and she and Lily hugged. Lily grabbed James by the hand and dragged him inside. James looked inside the living room and realised something.
“Lily, I don’t know any of these people!” He whispered.
“I’ll introduce you.” Lily said. “First from a distance, so you know what to expect.”
James looked around at all the people “Um, okay.”
“Where to begin…” Lily muttered to herself before starting. “Okay. See those two girls over there? Leila and Tara. Pretty fun, but Leila drinks too much… That boy over there was one of my best friends before I attended Hogwarts; Jake. That’s his best friend Martin. Martin Jackie’s boyfriend. Very funny guys. You’ll like them. Amy and Kate. You know them… The girl they’re talking to is Diane…”
James tried to remember all the names but it was hard and he kept listening.
“That’s Mike. He’s boring and that’s his twin brother Phil… He is closer to date Amy than you can be without actually doing it... Now… Don’t get jealous! But that boy Jackie is talking too is Keith. He’s my ex-boyfriend.”
James shook himself. “What?”
He looked at a rather muscular boy with brown hair standing next to Jackie in the corner. James suddenly felt small compared to Keith. He was good-looking and filled the t-shirt he was wearing with a muscular body and upper arms.
Lily looked at him with wonder. “Don’t look so shocked. I have had boyfriends too.”
“When?” James asked.
“Well… We started dating in the summer after our fourth year and broke up around Christmas half a year later.”
“Why have you not told me?”
“You didn’t ask.”
“Do I have to ask?”
“James, it doesn’t matter. I broke up with him because I didn’t like him. And who is the lucky guy now?” Lily asked him with raised eyebrows.
James couldn’t stop himself and grinned and kissed Lily.
Lily could feel that James knew that she didn’t like Keith anymore, but that he was a little jealous about it. But as they kissed more passionate she was sure that he would forget it. Lily put her arms around James’s neck as he grabbed her around the waist.
“Lily!”
Lily broke apart from James when she heard one call her name. It was Keith.
“Hey Keith.” Lily said very unenthusiastic and negative.
Couldn’t he see that he just had interrupted something?
“I’m so glad to see you again.” Keith said and gave Lily a hug, totally ignoring James.
James could see Lily’s lips form the words ‘wish I could say the same’ and made a little snort so Keith broke from Lily.
“And who are you, may I ask?”
“James Potter. Lily’s boyfriend.” James said and shook the hand Keith offered.
James noticed that Keith was squeezing his hand a little, but ignored it.
“Nice to meet you.” Keith said.
“You too.”
“Lovely to see you again, Lily.” Keith said and walked of.
“He was nice.” James said to Lily seconds after.
“You got to be kidding me!” She exclaimed.
When she saw James’s face she began to laugh.
“Anyways. How many of these persons know about you and our world?”
“No one beside Kate, Amy and Jackie.”
“Okay.”
The night went nice and James did actually like Jake and Martin. Lily was very happy about seeing James talk to them.
James had gotten up to get some fresh air outside and left the living room.
He took a deep breath as he came outside; those muggle drinks really was other stuff than what he had had before. He felt a soft breeze stroke his face and messed his hair a little bit. James looked up at the now full moon and felt sorry for Remus who had not him, nor Sirius or Peter by his side this month.
Suddenly James heard the door to the house shut and James turned around to see who came outside. But he didn’t make it to see anything before a fist hit him on the left side of his head and he fell backwards onto the asphalt.

Hey! Sorry for the cliffhanger! Here’s the next chapter where most prayers will be answered biggrin.gif

95
His glasses fell of and he couldn’t see anything. His hands fumbled on the ground, looking for them.
“Can’t see anything, Potter?” A voice, James recognized as Keith’s, asked him.
James found his glasses and put them on while anger was racing through him. He looked up at Keith who seamed to be very gloating.
“What the hell was that from?!” James asked him, trying to stop himself from shouting.
“Lily.”
James tried to stand up, but as he was halfway up Keith swung his arm once more and James could taste blood in his mouth. He fell back once more, but kept his glasses on.
“You know what I did for that girl?” Keith asked him, but didn’t want James to answer. “And then you come here and just get her without doing anything! You little-!”
James felt his temper rise to new heights. Some boy should not come here and hit him because he was with the girl he loved. He tried again to get up, but Keith pushed him down.
“Why don’t you stand up? Or are you too weak?” Keith asked scornfully.
“You’re not letting me!” James exclaimed angrily.
“Then all right. Get up!”
James quickly got up. Keith swung his arm again, but this time James had time to duck. He quickly swung his own arm and hit Keith right under his jaw. Keith looked at him for a second, but didn’t seam to get affected much by the punch. Then he acted so quickly that James had no time to react. He just felt his glasses break and his nose started to bleed. He fell back on the ground, and Keith’s fist hit him on his one side of the head for the third time that day.
“STOP!” A voice shouted. “LEAVE HIM ALONE!”
James didn’t need his glasses to know who had shouted. It was Lily.
“Will you just stop?! Your pathetic loser! Don’t you have other things to do that beating up innocent people for nothing?!”
“He asked for it.” Keith tried to explain himself.
“I absolutely doubt very much that he did! And I want you to leave! Now! You have done enough damage!”
James could not see anything, but he could hear on Lily’s voice that she was very close to tears. He turned away from Lily to lie on the shoulder and then spat some blood out. He heard Lily mutter something and next he felt her put his glasses on him again. He could see Lily’s face only inches away from his own. She was crying and her soft fingers were stroking his cheek. Her eyes sparkled. But not in the good way, that showed she was happy, it was because of the tears in the corner of concern and love, and James could not help but notice how beautiful she was, even crying.
“How are you?” She asked him after some time.
James looked at her and sat up with his hands supporting him. Lily kept looking at him.
“A little headache. But I’m fine.” He said and dried some blood away.
“You are getting a black eye.”
“Doesn’t matter.”
“Two seconds.” Lily said and flicked his wand. James felt the blood from his nose and mouth be removed instantly. “There you go.”
“Thank you.”
“I’m sorry. I should have known that Keith would do something like that.” Lily said.
“It’s okay. I’m fine.”
“No you’re not. You have a black eye and you have just been punched by a boxer! They hit very hard, you know!”
James didn’t know what a boxer was, and he didn’t care at the moment.
“I’m okay… You’re by my side. Then I’ll be just fine.” He said and stroke Lily’s hair.
One more single tear fell from Lily’s eyes as she kissed James.

Hey! Hm, cliffhanger. Now you're warned.

96
“Oh my god, James! What happened to you?” Helena’s voice sounded though the Hall, when Lily followed James home the next morning.
“Nothing, mum,” James mumbled, looking down. “It’s nothing.”
“You have a black eye,” she said and lifted his head up. “Don’t call that nothing!”
“James was in a fight…” Lily said. “But he wasn’t the one who started it!”
“A muggle-fight?” Helena asked and James nodded. “What were you thinking at?!”
“It’s my fault, Helena.” Lily said quickly. “I brought James to this muggle-party last night. And this ex-boyfriend of mine… kind of got very mad at James and…” Lily got tears in her eyes.
“Stop that…” James said and gave her a hug. “I have told you it was not your fault. It was none but Keith’s.”
“But I should have known. He’s a boxer and everything…”
“He’s a BOXER?!” Helena yelled.
Lily looked up from James shoulder. “Do you know what a boxer is?”
“Of course I do! Them that beat each others up for fun, right?”
“That’s right.” Lily nodded.
“Don’t expect all witches and wizards to know that little of the muggle-world.”
“Was that why he hit that hard? Ah man!” James said annoyed. “That was why he didn’t get much affected by the punch I gave him!”
“You punched him?!” Helena, again yelleding.
“Well, yeah.” James said and shrugged. “After getting hit with my back at him and after that a punch while I was laying on the ground. I thought he deserved it…”
Lily was sure she could see something that looked like a smile at Helena’s face for a short moment. She could still fell James’s arm around her turned around to put her arms around him too. There were some seconds of silence.
“I’ll just go get something to remove that black eye of yours.” Helena said.
“No, don’t do that.” James said. When Helena and Lily looked at him like he was crazy, he added. “I like it. It makes me look braver.”
Lily couldn’t hold a little snort back.
“Hey!”
“I got so scarred when I saw you and him.” Lily said. “Don’t you ever do that again!”
She hit his upper arm and James looked at her and then at his mother.
“Mum, we’ll just go up. I think Lily needs to rest.” He said.
“No, I better go home.” Lily said quickly.
“No you don’t.” This time it was Helena talking. “I have some tea that’ll calm your nerves.”
“Take care of James. He was the one who got punched, not me.” Lily said.
“Perhaps. But you’re the one who needs the care.” Helena said and looked at Lily with raised eyebrows.
“I’m fine you know.”
“Lily, you didn’t sleep the whole night…” James said. “How can that be fine?”
Lily didn’t say anything but when Helena went out in the kitchen Lily was on her way out of the door but James grabbed her one hand.
“You’re coming up stairs now.”
“No. I’m fine.”
James looked at her fighting against him for two seconds before grabbing her around the legs and lifted her up over his shoulder. So she looked behind and he legs stuck forward.
“James! Put me down!” Lily tried, but couldn’t stop laughing.
“Nope.” James just said and started walking up the stairs and all the way up to his room.

Lily had still not gotten permission from either Helena or James to go home that evening. They all sat at the kitchen table, eating dinner when a brown owl flow in landed on the table. It had a newspaper.
Helena paid the owl and James grabbed the newspaper after seeing the front-page.
“An attack earlier this day.” James said. “Two killed... A pureblood and his daughter... Thomas, 43 and the daughter Wen…” James stopped.
Lily looked at him. “Who was the daughter?” She asked, but when James didn’t answer or give her the paper she took it.
James didn’t oppose, just looked at Lily.
Lily read to where James had red and stopped. “Wendy?”

Hey! Sorry for killing Wendy of, but I promise happier times are coming. No, really! Please read smile.gif

97
“It’s Wendy.” Lily whispered.
James looked at her while he nodded slightly. His eyes showed sorrow. Lily threw the newspaper away and ran upstairs. She felt James and Helena’s eyes on the back of her on the way out of there. When she entered her and James’s room she fell down on the bed and lay still there. Short after she heard the door open.
Someone sat on the bed next to Lily; she could slightly smell the aftershave James wore. He put his one hand at her back and stroked it softly.
After some time Lily turned around and sat up. She looked very sad and slowly teas began falling from her eyes, so James took her around the waist and dragged her up to him and to sit with his arms around her.
“It’s not fair!” She said as she begun to cry even more.
“No. It’s not.”
Lily let her head rest on James’s shoulder and her tears seamed to not want to stop. And she began sobbing. James stroked her hair over and over again while he was rocking Lily backwards and forwards.
While James was comforting Lily, she tried to believe what she had just red. Wendy was killed. It seamed to Lily that nothing would ever be good to her again. She felt that she had nothing left in the world, beside the boy who was now stroking her softly at her back. A new stream of tears fell from Lily’s eyes down to James’s shirt.
“Why, Wendy?” Lily asked after almost half an hour with James comforting her. She had almost control of her voice, but it was very hard to her.
“No one can tell, beside those who were behind it.”
“She was not even muggle. Not even the slightest of a muggle.”
“No. But when is it even fair to kill?”
Lily cried some more.

The funeral was sat to be on Wednesday, two days after the death. James had not let Lily go home because he was so worried about her. Lily was just getting ready to go when Sirius, Remus and Peter arrived. They had decided to go together. She hurried down to the boys and they walked in silence out of Godric’s Hollow and apparated.
As Lily walked into where the funeral was about to happen, her eyes fell on a young woman with short straight and thick brown hair and brown warm eyes filled with tears.
“Tess?” Lily whispered.
Tess looked at Lily. “Oh, Lily!” Her eyes filled even more with tears and she gave Lily a hug.
“I have missed you so much.” Lily said.
“And I’ve missed you too… and Wen-” Tess ended her sentence in a huge sob.
“Me too!” Lily whispered and let her tears fall freely.
Tess sat down between Sirius and Lily who sat with James and Peter. Remus had sat next to Wendy’s mother and brother up front after being asked to.
James’s hand held tight around Lily’s through the whole ceremony. It was a living nightmare and Lily didn’t catch half of the words that were said. Tears were constantly running from her eyes, even though she kept brushing them away. Lily found herself happy when the ceremony was over and everyone stood up.
After it most of the people were on the way home, the marauders and Lily and Tess were talking. Lily and Tess were crying again. James held around Lily, and Sirius around Tess, comforting. Lily couldn’t stop herself thinking that it was a shame for them both that Tess lived all the way in America.
“It was nice to see you again.” Lily said as Tess was about to leave.
“Yeah. I had just hoped it would be a happier occasion.” Tess said back and hugged Lily.
“We can see to that another time.”
“Sure. A happier time.”
“Yeah.”
Lily gave Tess one last hug before they all split up. She decided in that moment that she would visit Wendy so often she could and write to Tess even more often. In times like these you could never know when your dear one was taken away.

Yea. Leave some feedback to the evil writer.

Hey!
Another short chapter comming. It's really just a fill-in... I have big things coming up shutup.gif

Lily had a hard time trying to move on after the death of Wendy. She was glad that James was by her side most of the time. He even went home with Lily for a week. Lily couldn’t stop herself in saying thanks for it; she knew he made it a lot easier than it would have been alone. One day Jackie came over to apologize to James and Lily about inviting Keith to the party.
“It’s okay.” James said and smiled at her. “It was actually kind of fun, now that I think about it.”
“Okay. I’m just glad nothing more happened. I mean… In that way he 'loves' Lily, I would almost have thought he would try something on her. Not you.”
“He did try something…” Lily said with a small voice.
“WHAT?!” James almost yelled.
“Nothing happened, James.” Lily said and looked at him. “He just tried to kiss me, and I slapped him.”
“Wha-?… When?”
“It was right before he walked out to you. I think that was the thing that made him do it.”
James looked stunned at Lily.
“I’m so sorry.” She whispered.
“Don’t be. If you had let him, perhaps I wouldn’t have been punched… several times. But my girlfriend had showed that she was weak and didn’t love me anymore.”
“Thank you.”
“No. I’m the one who says thanks, for you being loyal to me.”
“I will always. Trust me.”
James kissed Lily on the forehead, before turning to Jackie. “So when’s next time for a party?” He asked with a big mischievous smile on his face.
Jackie laughed. “As soon as I have found some friends that don’t get into fights and stuff like that. Oh! I can see it’s about to get late, I gotta go. See you.”
Lily stopped smiling as she waved at Jackie. What Jackie had just said reminded her about Wendy. She was just like that. Calm and did never get into trouble. Miss Perfect!
James seamed to have red Lily’s look on her face, because he wrapped his arms tightly around her and stroke her hair softly. Lily just gave him a hug back and they kept standing in the door like this.
“I miss her so much.” Lily said into James’s shoulder after some time.
“Yeah. I know. Remus does too.”
Lily blinked a single tear from her eye and it fell down on James shirt.

Later the very same day James and Lily had been called to a meeting with the Order. James was quite taken back when he saw a few new familiar faces among the people.
“Hey! Padfoot!” He called. “And Moony and Wormtail!”
The three young men turned around and looked at him.
“Hi Prongs!” They greeted.
“When did you join the Order?” James asked.
“Well,” Remus begun. “Dumbledore contacted me after Wendy’s funeral and after that Padfoot and Wormtail here.”
James smiled. “I’m glad you decided to turn up here. You really feel you make a difference.”
While the guys kept chatting Lily suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder and she quickly spun around.
“Hey Lily.” I woman, that was about the same age as Lily, said. She had a nice smiling face which Lily could easily recognize her on.
“Hi Alice.” Lily said to Alice, her classmate through seven years. “Since when have you been a part of the Order?”
“This is mine and Frank’s first meeting. We’re really excited.”
“That’s nice.” Lily said. She had never talked much to Alice because she had spent most of the time with Lina, who Lily had never liked much.
Alice looked like she had red Lily’s thoughts, because she suddenly said to Lily. “I’m really sorry for the way Lina behaved to you and James last year. I never though it was okay all those things she said about you… actually I’m… I’m not talking to her anymore.”
Lily looked at her for a while. “It doesn’t matter. Actually I didn’t care.”
“Oh, okay. Can we just forget that part and be friends?”
“Sure…” Lily thought Alice was overreacting a little bit, but didn’t mind. She was sweet by coming and say that to her, and Lily appreciated it.
“And I’m sorry to hear what happened to Wendy.”
Lily got a sad look on her face again. “It was just not fair.”
“No. It’s always the good once that are taken away.”
“It is.”

Okay, really this first chapter was most to show time was passing, so I’d give you two chapters. As the last one is my chapter number 100, there’s a little ‘surprise’ in it. I really like it hope you do too happy.gif

99
December month was full of snow and it went quickly. Suddenly it was Christmas morning. Lily was woken up by her bed was moving. When she opened her eyes she noticed it was James jumping in it.
“Presents!” He just exclaimed.
“Get off!” Lily shouted with a hoarse voice.
Then with no warning, a pillow hit James on the one side of his head, and he felt off the bed with a crash.
“Hey,” It came from the floor. “What was that for?”
“You woke me! I wanted to sleep.” Lily said simple.
“Why? There’re presents.”
“So that’s why you’re so early up?”
“Why else? You know I want to sleep long.” James said as he got up and took his hand to his head. “The floor is very hard you know!”
“Yeah, yeah. Not my fault you fell over.”
“Don’t sound so indifferent.”
“Right. How did you even manage to get this early up? It’s seven thirty!”
“Yeah, but I couldn’t sleep with presents and such a beautiful girl at my side.” James said and sat next to Lily and kissed her.
“The thing with the beautiful girl is no problem at the every day.”
“Then it must be the presents.” James joked.
“Thank you.”
“I love you, you know that. Especially when you have that nightdress on.”
James was referring to the black dress made of silk, and very short, he had given Lily for her birthday. James though she looked gorgeous in it and it showed her forms and shape perfectly.
“And I really like it too.” Lily said and made James come back to reality.
Suddenly it began knocking on the window, and Lily and James looked up.
“That’s Valdemar. And he’s bringing a letter.” Lily walked over and let the owl inside. “It’s from my mother. She asks us to come to lunch today.”
James looked at her for a second. “We could that. But I don’t like leaving my mother alone on Christmas day.”
“She can come too.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah. My mother actually asks to.”
“Okay.” James ran downstairs and come up again five minutes later. He smiled at Lily. “She would love to come.”
That midday James, Lily and Helena apparated home to Lily, where her mom had prepared a lovely lunch to them all. James was glad to see that his mother and Lily’s mother came good along. But something James didn’t like was that his mother ‘accidentally’ told Lily’s mother things he didn’t like. Like the fact that James had exploded about half the schools toilets in their fifth year and how much time James and Sirius had spent at detention. Some embarrassing stories were told too. But Lily got hit too. Her mother told stories about when Lily was small and James actually enjoyed it. When he thought about it later, it was not that embarrassing. He had tried worse.
It was late in the night before James and his mother went home and let Lily and her mother alone.

100
December became January, but the weather didn’t seam to get warmer. Actually it was colder outside than ever, and it was late so it was dark outside. While James was knocking on the door to Lily’s house, snow started falling. It wouldn’t make a big deal since it had snowed the last week, but he liked it. James had sent her an owl and asked her to go somewhere today with him, he had not told where, but she had agreed.
The door opened and it was Jane who opened.
“She’s on her way.” She just said and smiled.
“All right.”
James saw Lily come out in the hall. She was wearing a black thick jumper and green scarf, mittens and cap that matched it all perfectly. Even though she only wore a jumper she looked to be warm enough. Just as James had hoped she would. He himself wore a brown sweater with black gloves and a scarf.
“You looked beautiful!” He said.
“So do you.” Lily said and too his hand. “So, where’re we going?”
“Won’t tell you.” James said and smiled at her. “Just grab my arm and we’ll apparat.”
Lily looked at him for seconds. “Okay…”
James smiled at her and disapparated.
Lily suddenly found herself somewhere very illuminated. It was not because of the sun or that it was no longer early night. They were just beside a big frozen lake surrounded by trees with small lights all over that lightened the whole area up in a romantic way. The snow that was falling made the view perfect. The lake was filled with people ice-skating and in the one end was a little house where people could get hot chocolate and rent skates.
“So.” Lily begun and looked up at James. “We’re going to ice-skate.”
“Yep!” He said and took her hand and let her out from the trees.
“Do you even know how to do that?”
“I’ve practiced.” James said shortly.
But that was a lie. He had been ice-skating since he was four on the lake at home, he just didn’t want to sound too good in case he would screw up and trip in the middle of everyone.
“Then you can teach me. I have no idea how to do it properly.” Lily said with an apologetic smile.
“Come on.” James just smiled. “We’ll start with lending some skates.”
James and Lily made their way to a little house where they got skates. James quickly put his on and looked at Lily. She was still fighting with the laces on her skates, trying to loosen them up.
“You need help with those?” James asked and grinned.
Lily sighed and let go of one of the skates, then leaned back in the bench. “Yes, please.”
James picked the skates up and began putting them on Lily.
“You’re so cute when you’re helpless.” He said and smiled at her.
“That’s not something I try a lot.” Lily said back with a flirtatious smile.
“So you don’t know how to skate? Or roller-skate?”
“Never in my whole life tried it beside a time I was six, and fell down a long and steep road. It hurt, so I never did it again. I was scarred.”
“Then I won’t let you fall. Okay?”
Lily smiled. “Okay.”
“Done!” James said and got up. “Ready now?”
Lily grabbed the hand James offered and they got out on the ice, still with their hands linked.
“Um… James I’m not sure about this.” Lily said as they came out on the ice and James was skating around her.
James stopped in front of her so abruptly that the ice flew up around them. Lily looked at him impressed.
“You have skated a lot before, right?”
“Yeah…” James admitted and shrugged his shoulders. “At the little lake at home. Here! Take my hands.” He offered Lily his two hands and she took them. “You said you have skated before?”
“I have.” Lily said. “I’m just scarred. I can’t hold my balance.”
“Okay. Just skate. I’m in front of you, holding your hands to make sure you’re not falling.”
Lily nodded and James began skating backwards and Lily followed slowly. Lily was impressed that James could manage to maneuver between the other skating persons backwards and help her ice-skate at the same time. He was very good at it, and Lily thought he looked cute as he was there in front of her, teaching her to ice-skate.
“See, you’re actually good at it.” James said to her.
“I’m not afraid when you’re beside me. I trust you.” Lily smiled.
“Good. Then I’ll let go of your one hand.” James said and did it.
He and Lily skated around on the lake hand in hand. Lily looked at the threes with lights and noticed how beautiful it all was.
“It’s beautiful here, James.” She said. She had never been anywhere that seamed so romantic, and James seamed to think the same.
“So are you.” James said. He stopped skating and let himself slide in front of her and kissed her. “I love you.”
Lily was about to say the same but James continued taking. “Listen…” He said, but some time went before he continued. He took a deep breath. “I have this thing I need to get of my chest.”
“Yes?” Lily said, helping and smiled encouraging.
“Here it goes… Lily...” He sighed deeply. “I never thought it would be us, as it did… I just always wished for it. You have no idea how happy you made me when you first let me kiss you. It was like this dream… I never thought my life could be better… But it did. I had the best time of my life. You made my everyday better when I came home this summer. You were there when I needed it the most. I can’t ever say how much I love you, Lily. How much I want to be with you. How much I want to spend my whole life with you… Lily Evans,” James stopped for a second, took a deep breath and looked Lily deep into the eyes. “Will you marry me?”

Okay, my own computer doesn’t work at the moment, and I wanted to get this chapter up today, so this chapter might be a bit different from what I have written or edited at my own computer as this is just my back-up. But, really, it is not far from the other one. So just read now biggrin.gif - oh, and it is very short.

Lily forgot that she was on the middle of frozen lake a late night. She forgot that the ground was hard and cold. She forgot that people was ice-skating around her and could crash into them every second. Lily threw herself forwards and grabbed James around the waist so he fell backwards with her on top of him. James was taken by surprise and had a very frightened expression on his face. Lily pulled herself up and kissed James very passionate. First there was no response from James but it was gone after one second. James could hear people skating past as he and Lily lay on the ice and kept kissing.
After several minutes they broke apart and James looked intensely at Lily.
“So is that a yes?” He asked.
“Yeah!” she said and smiled.
“I love you so much.”
“I love you more.”
Lily kissed James some more while they lay on the ice and broke apart after a long time.
“Perhaps we should get up. People can’t ice-skate here.” James suggested.
“You’re right.”
When Lily got up James was on knee. Lily looked glad and let James take her one hand. He pulled her mitten of.
“Thank you so much for making me the happiest man on earth.” He said and let a cold ring slide on her finger.
“Oh, James! It’s beautiful!” She said as she saw the ring. It was gold with a single emerald on.
James got up. “Not half as much as you.”
Lily smiled widely. “Let’s go have some hot chocolate. Shall we?”
James looked down at Lily and noticed how much more than normal her eyes shinned. It was hard to let his gaze go somewhere else that Lily. And he didn’t even notice that they had come to the end of the lake where Lily ordered hot chocolate.
“Here.” She said and handled him the chocolate.
James shook himself back to reality. “Thanks.”
They sat down on a bench in silence. Now that Lily had gotten a ring on her finger she couldn’t get her eyes of it. James noticed and smiled.
“I’m glad you like it.” He said.
Lily looked up. “I just never thought this would happen to me.”
“Really?”
“Yeah… I never thought I should find some one like you. Or for the matter of fact… you.” Lily said and made a faint snort.
“I bet that was a little surprisingly.” James grinned and let his one hand slide through his hair.
“No…” Lily said slowly. “It seamed so right when we first started dating.”
James couldn’t help but smile. “Then I’m glad you found me. And made me the person I am today.”
“I didn’t make you into anything. It was all you. You changed without being another person.”
“I didn’t know you could do that…”
“Nor did I.” Lily looked at James with a loving smile, then she looked out over the lake and took a sip of the hot chocolate. She felt like the happiest girl in the world. And next to her sat the person who had made her that; with the exact same feeling.

And some feedback would be nice tongue.gif

Two chapters up because of lack in the lenght.
Okay, I wrote chapter 103 before DH, as I did with most of this fic, and the birthdays of Lily and James doesn’t fit exactly, and I’m not about to change it. Just so you know. I know it’s not a big deal, but I’m not changing it. Sorry.

As James and Lily stepped inside the kitchen where Lily lived they heard voices from the living room. Lily and James looked at each other and then waked in there, hand in hand.
“Mum?” James asked when he saw his mother sit with the back at her.
Helena turned around. “Oh, hi James and Lily.” She said and smiled.
“What are you doing here?”
“I thought that since you two where out I would pay Jane a visit.”
“But it’s almost ten.”
“What’s that?” Lily asked as she saw the papers at the table.
“Oh!” Jane said and took the papers. “Just some houses I was looking at.”
“Why is that?” Lily asked even though she already knew. “Are you moving?”
“Well… not yet, but since Petunia moved and you’re pending most of your time at Helena and James, the house it starting to get too big for me alone.”
“But mum, I still live here.”
“For how long? I don’t think that ring on your finger will make you stay longer.” Jane said and nodded smiling at Lily’s hand.
Lily blushed. “Well… it… we just-”
“Lily and I are getting married.” James said quickly. He too was blushing slightly.
There was silence for a while. Jane and Helena looked at Lily and James.
“I think it’s great!” Helena suddenly exclaimed and clapped her hands together.
“Me too.” Jane said and smiled.
James stood behind Lily and put his arms around her waist and let his head rest on her shoulder.
“So, where were you, and how did this happen?” Helena asked and smiled.
“James took me ice-skating.” Lily said and smiled.
James felt that it was Lily who should tell the thing so he was quite. It was something with girls.
“It was at this lake with threes around and the whole lake was lightened up with lights from the threes. Very romantic. He taught me how to do it without being afraid. We were skating and he sort of asked me in the middle of the ice.”
“That’s sweet.” Jane said.
Both the elder women smiled at James, and he started to get uncomfortable.
“Well, she deserves the best.” James said and shrugged his shoulders before he kissed Lily on the cheek.
“Aww…” both Jane and Helena sighed.
Lily smiled widely.
“Oh, well…” Helena said and got up. “I better go home. We can talk wedding-talk another time.” She looked at Lily and Jane before she smiled.
“Let me follow you outside.” James offered and walked after his mother.
“Sure, sure.” She just said.
James helped his mother in the coat and opened the door to her. They walked outside in the cold winter and down the front lawn.
When they were on the sidewalk, James’s mother turned to him; about to speak.
“I’m very glad for you, James.” She said.
James just smiled. He knew his mother had wanted to say that to him, but he was also sure she had more to say. And sure he was right.
“Lily is a good girl and I know you two will be very happy together. And even though you’re very young I know it was the right thing to do. Your father and I married young too… Not as young as you two, but young. You have my blessing and full support.”
James smiled. “Thank you, mum. It means a lot to me.” He said and gave her a hug.
“What you don’t do for your only son.” She sighed and smiled. “Your father would be proud of you, you know that?”
“I’m sure he would. I couldn’t do a single thing without him being proud of me.” James said and smiled sadly.
“That’s right. And getting married is definitely not an exception.”
A real glad smile spread at James’ lips. “No… definitely not.”
“Ah, well. I’m going home now. Feel free to bring Lily sometime soon.”
“I will.” James said and waved at his mother, before she apparated with a loud crack.

103
The next couple of weeks passed very quickly and the weather was getting much better. Lily spent most of the time when she was not at work at the Potters. At Valentines Day Lily and James spent most of the day walking around just outside Godric’s hollow. At 4 they were inside again. Lily made her hot chocolate to James. She did it in the muggle way. She had made that since she was six, and no one could make it better than her.
“Wow. This is very good, you know.” James said and smiled to Lily.
They had arranged a little table on James room and both sat in the bed and drank the hot chocolate.
“Thank you. I always made this for my father.”
“And now you make it for me. That’s sweet.”
Lily sighed and looked at her cup in her hands. “It is.”
James had noting to say and kept looking down.
“My mother has almost found a house.” Lily said silently, looking at her hands.
“She has?”
“At least one she likes… I want her to be happy, but it is going to be hard to say goodbye to that house. And I’m not sure how much I like the new one. It’s so small.”
“Don’t you want to live with her more?”
“I don’t know… It’s just not the same anymore. And I think it’s about time she gets to be herself.”
James looked down for a while before he looked up at Lily.
“You… You could… move in here?” He asked slowly.
Lily looked up at him and smiled. James leaned forward and put his cup at the table.
“I could that…” Lily said and smiled. “If I’m welcome.”
“Of course you are. Any time.”
“Can’t you ask your mother if it’s okay first?”
“Sure, but I know it is. Actually, she suggested it weeks ago. She thinks now that we are engaged we should live together.”
“Okay.” Lily smiled and leaned back against the wall.
There was silence for a while. James took a sip of his chocolate and Lily looked down at her cup once more.
“James…” She broke the silence. “It was the right thing we did, right?”
“What do you mean?”
“With the engagement. I mean… There’s one month to you turn nineteen and I’m just eighteen… You don’t think we’re moving too quickly. Do you?”
James looked at Lily and suddenly smiled, which surprised her.
“Lily. Don’t think I haven’t thought of that. I realised, that we live in times where you don’t know what happens tomorrow. And this we have… It’s real. Don’t you feel that too?”
“Sure. I was just wondering…”
“It’s okay. Here,” James said and grabbed her hand and put is to his chest. “This heart you can feel the beat of… It only beats for you, and always will. Remember that.”
“You make it seam so right. And for once you are.” Lily nodded slightly, still with her hand on James’s chest. “We did the right thing.”
James leaned over and kissed Lily for a long time.
“You taste like chocolate.” She grinned as they broke apart and sat her cup at the table.
“So do you.” James said and kissed her again.

104
Two weeks later Lily had packed her stuff at home and was ready to move in with James. She had been over to visit Kate, Amy and Jackie to say good bye. In the end of the day James came and would help her take all her things to her new home.
“Is that all?” He asked when he saw her luggage.
“Yeah. I have shrunken them, so there’s more than it seams.” Lily said.
“Oh okay. Shall I take them?”
“I can take some of them myself.”
Lily grabbed some of them and James took the rest. Then they walked outside. Jane stood in the door looking at them.
“I’m going to miss you around me Lily.” She said.
Lily smiled at her mother. “I promise I’m coming to visit you where you move.”
“I’m sure you do. But I’m not moving before the 1st of April.”
Lily smiled sadly at her mother. “I think we should take of. Ready, James?”
“If you are.”
And then they both apparated to Godric’s Hollow.
“I have told you how much I love this place, right?” Lily asked as they walked hand in hand at the sidewalk towards Lily’s new home.
“I think you have. But it’s lovely, and it’s not all the muggle’s job.” James said.
“You mean some of it is magic?”
“Well, not exactly magic. It is plants, but most of them have been affected by magic in some way.”
Lily smiled. She could not believe that she was about to move in with James. Some part of her was happy because of that she was going to wake up every morning next to James, and she had to live her everyday with him. The other was sad: She had left the muggle world and all of her muggle friends behind her. She knew she was going to see them again, but it would not be the same now.
James seamed to notice her tension.
“You are sure about this, right?” James asked because he suddenly found himself unsure.
“Of course, James!” Lily said, almost sounding offended “I’m just going to miss everything. But I’m sure it’s going to be great.” Lily gave James’s hand a squeeze and smiled at him.
James quickly bent down and kissed Lily at the cheek. “You know I love you, and will do everything to make you happy?”
“Yes, I know. And I love you too.”
As soon as they had entered the empty house and gotten up to the room that had used to be James’s and now also was Lily’s, they sat down all their bag and trunks and looked around.
“I think we need to make a few changes.” James said.
“How?” Lily asked and looked at him.
“See.”
James found his wand in his one pocket and flicked it at the one wall. It disappeared and the old room was now much bigger because the room next to now was a part of it. The carpet changed in both rooms and it was now black, the walls suddenly was painted red and there were two couches in the corner and a little table in dark tree beside them. A fireplace was illuminating the room. He flicked his wand at the bed and it became bigger and looked much softer with more duvets. At the right side of the room an extra closet had appeared to all of Lily’s clothes at other stuff.
“It’s nice.” Lily said. “But wait.” She flicked her own wand and a low wall you could just look over separated the room in two. It had a hole in the middle to walk through to enter the other ‘room’.
“That is nice.” James gave her right.
“Want to try the new bed?” Lily asked flirtatious.
“My mother is visiting someone somewhere, so I’m fresh.” James said with the same tone and smile. He grabbed Lily’s hand in his and started to kiss her while walking slowly over to the bed.

Yup, I know it's not much, but be nice and leave a word or two in my feeeback thread. tongue.gif

The time flew past for Lily and James. Every day seamed to go faster than the other and soon it was early April. It was lovely outside now that the summer was close and the weather was warmer. Both James and Lily loved being engaged and enjoyed every moment of it.
One day when Helena was in London to do some shopping, the doorbell rang. Lily was outside so James opened the door and on the outside stood a man, he couldn’t be more than five years older than himself, with long blond hair and cold grey eyes. His face showed superiority and arrogance.
“Lucius Malfoy. It’s an honour.” He spoke slowly and his voice was very low. He shook James hand slowly.
“Hello.” James begun. “I’m James-”
“Potter.” The man cut in. “Yes, I know.”
“In which ways can I help you Malfoy?” James tried to smiled and be polite to the Malfoy-man, who he didn’t like from the very beginning, but he didn’t think he could do that in the long run.
“Oh. It’s not you who can help me, but me who can help you.” Malfoy said smoothly and took a step inside.
“How?”
“I assume you have heard of a man known as The Dark Lord?”
“Yeah, Voldemort.” James said and crossed his arms. “The muggle-killer.”
“You have understood it all wrong. We consider him as a helping hand to the wizard society.” Malfoy was still calm and arrogant in the way he was speaking.
“My fiancée is a muggleborn.” James’s voice was low and calm, but inside of him, anger begun to stream through him.
“So much the better. We want to have understanding from all in the society we live in.”
“So what do you want from me?” James asked, his eyes not blinking as they bore themselves into Malfoy’s.
“Your presence at one of our gatherings.” He said smoothly.
“I don’t thing so.”
Malfoy seamed taken back, but changed path at once.
“You’re a pureblood wizard, right?”
“Yes.”
“Don’t you want our society to become a place where there are only folks like us?” Malfoy asked.
“I repeat myself. My fiancée is a muggleborn.” James’s voice was now cold as ice.
“She could join The Dark Lord too. She’s a gifted witch I have heard. We could use one like her.”
“I don’t care about muggleblood or pureblood. And I would like you to leave my house. Now.” James had not raised his voice, but it was menacing calm and spoken with as much pure hate and contempt as he could muster.
“First, let me explain something to-”
“I don’t think you heard my fiancé, Malfoy.” Lily said from behind James. She had been standing behind the door to the kitchen and had heard everything he had said and had, like James, gotten very mad. “He asked you to leave. Please do that.” Lily hadn’t raised her voice either, but her voice was much colder than James’s and she didn’t take her eyes of Malfoy.
Malfoy looked like he had been slapped with a dead fish in the face, but eventually he spoke.
“Sure, Miss Evans, sure. Just remember that we gave you both the choice.” And with those words Malfoy turned around and walked out, without saying another word.
Lily and James stood back and looked after him for a long time before James closed the door.
“What do you think he meant with ‘remember that we gave you both the choice’?” Lily asked and looked at James.
James looked out of the window after Malfoy and shook slowly his head. “I don’t know. But we have to be more careful from now on. And I think we should talk to Dumbledore about this.”
“We can do that at the next meeting.” Lily said.

And as always, tell me what you think here biggrin.gif

Hello!
Warning: Cliffhanger in the end tongue.gif

106
Lily and James talked to Dumbledore to the next meeting, but he just thought that it mean they would try again. They didn’t know if they should be relieved or worried, but decided to don’t think about it.
They had both been invited to dinner by Lily’s mother in her new house in the middle of April. Neither James nor Lily had seen the house yet, and was very excited about it.
“James, hurry up!” Lily called from the hall and looked up the stairs, waiting for James to come down.
“I’m on my way! It’s usually me who’s waiting for you… You can handle to be the one who’s waiting.”
Lily snorted. “Right.”
James came down the stairs. “Don’t do that.” He said and looked at her with raised eyebrows.
Lily smiled at James. “Just finish…”
“I am finished. I’m just waiting for you.”
Lily looked down of herself. James wore his jumper, but she didn’t. She quickly grabbed a black one and pulled it over her head. James took hold of her hand and they walked outside. The sky was light blue and sun was hanging low because it was late noon. The walked down the sidewalk and Lily apparated them both to the front door of her mother’s house as she was the only one of them who knew where it was.
“It looks nice.” Were James’s first words about the place.
“It is.” Lily said and smiled. “Let’s get inside.”
She knocked on the door and seconds after Jane opened it.
“Hello, children.” She said and smiled.
“Hi Mom.”
“Hey Jane.”
“Come in, come in. The dinner is ready in about ten minutes.”
Both James and Lily smiled and stepped inside.
Lily gave James a quick tour while Jane finished cooking. The house was little, but very cosy and peaceful. James liked it, but understood why Lily didn’t want to live there. The place was simple too little to a mother and her daughter. There was a little garden behind the house. It was not big, neither small. It was perfect for a person who lived alone.
“Dinner’s ready.” Jane called just as Lily had finished the tour for James.
“Coming.” Lily called back.
James followed Lily inside and sat down at the little table. Jane came with the last of the dinner and sat down too. Lily started by taking some potatoes.
“So,” Jane begun. “Is there a date for the wedding yet?”
James looked at Lily, and she nodded.
“Well, we have talked about August 15.” He said.
“Just a small wedding in the garden at James’s.” Lily added.
Jane smiled. “That sounds great.”
“If it was something very big, it quickly could be ruined by Voldemort.” James said.
Jane shook by that name. And both Lily and James looked at her with wonder.
“Mum, what’s wrong?” Lily asked.
“I just don’t like the sound of that name…”
“Why? Do you know who he is?” James asked.
“I have kept the Daily Prophet since Lily first attended to Hogwarts. And I don’t think there’s something wrong with fearing a name.” Jane said like she really meant it.
Lily nodded. “It’s okay, mum. Some in the wizard society fears the name too.”
Jane was about to say something when the doorbell rang, so she stopped.
“I’ll be right back.” She said and got up. She got out of the room and closed the door after her.
There went not much longer than ten seconds before both Lily and James heard something fall to the floor. They looked at each other and Lily got up seconds before James. She walked over to the door. Before she got her hand on the handle the door, it was blown of it hinges. Lily and the door flew into the dinner table and hit the floor.
Lily was shocked, but looked up to see who this violently person was. The man she looked up at didn’t even look like a man, but more like a skeleton with white skin. He had red eyes and wore an evil smile. Lily didn’t doubt one second who this man was. It was Lord Voldemort.

Uhh! I could just leave you here for a long time. What a temptation! But I won’t I’m back as quick as always. But please leave some feedback biggrin.gif

Hey! I’m in an extremely good mood today, so I give you two chapters biggrin.gif

107
“Hello, Miss Evans and Mr Potter.” He said in voice that was so high it made James’s hair stand up.
“What did you do to my mother?” Lily asked furious.
Voldemort didn’t answer, so Lily looked past him and saw her mother lie on the floor with open eyes and not breathing.
James had noticed the wand in Voldemort’s hand and drew his own.
“I understand that you weren’t interested in my offer.”
“Of course not!” James said angrily.
“Shame…” Voldemort said and studied his wand.
He suddenly pointed it at James and a bright light shot out of it. James tried to block it, but the spell was to powerful and he was knocked of his legs out of breath. Lying on the floor and out of breath James tried to disarm Voldemort while getting up, but the spell was blocked.
“You shouldn’t have done that, Potter.” He said and pointed his wand at James. “Crucio!”
James once again fell down on the floor and screamed in agony. His bones were burning like they wanted the flesh to let go of them, and his head felt like exploding every second. Nothing in his whole life had ever been so painful; he actually found that he would rather die than be under this curse.
“STOP!” Lily screamed. “Stop you maniac!”
Voldemort just laughed evilly, so Lily drew her wand and tried to stun him. Voldemort did something and it missed him, but the Cruciatus Curse was lifted from James and he opened his eyes. Voldemort’s wand was now pointing at Lily.
“Don’t” Voldemort said and let Lily fly through the air and hit the wall. “Ever” Lily hit the other wall. “Point” Lily hit the first wall again. “Your – Wand – At – Me – Again – You – Filthy – Little – MUDBLOOD!” Lily hit the wall at each word Voldemort spoke.
James tried to get up, but his legs didn’t seam to want to obey him. But as he saw Voldemort kept making Lily hit the wall he suddenly got the needed power to get up. Wand or not he would not let anyone harm Lily. He ran towards Voldemort and let himself flew over him, they both hit the ground. Voldemort lost his wand and Lily stopped flying in the air and fell down on the floor. James got up before Voldemort and ran over to Lily. She was unconscious and had a big gash on the one side of her head. James grabbed her hand and the last thing he heard before he apparated away with Lily, was Voldemort’s scream of anger.
They appeared right in the middle of the kitchen back home. James walked into the living room and lay Lily on the couch and took his wand in a tighter grip and pointed at Lily, trying to wake her up.
Seconds after Lily’s eyes opened very abrupt.
“My mother!” She said and tried to get up but James pushed her down with his left hand.
He shook his head. “You need to rest now, Lily. You’re bleeding badly.” He healed the gash on her head with his wand.
“But my mother…” Lily tried and felt hot tears form in her eyes.
“Lily! There’s nothing you can do.” James said and pushed her down one more time, he had tears in his eyes too.
Lily started to cry and James pulled her up in his arms. Lily let her head rest at James’s chest and her arms were around him. Words were not necessary; support and love was.

108
James went back to Jane’s house with Sirius and Remus in the early morning. Lily had stayed back on James and Helena’s orders for her own best. James, Sirius and Remus repaired the house and the damages and made it look like Jane had died a normal death before Remus had to call someone that came to check on Jane. Despite the circumstances James and Sirius had a lot of fun trying to figure out how Remus did when he used the phone, and it ended with Sirius calling some Mrs. Jackson. They had a big laugh of this and Sirius kept his hands of the phone.
Lily joined them in the house around noon. She called her sister to tell, and Petunia arrived an hour later. The guys left and let the two sisters about the work for the funeral, which was set to the next Friday.
When Lily came home, she was not happy, nor was she sad as James thought she would be.
“I can’t believe her!” Lily raged as the first thing to do when she entered the house.
“Huh?” James said stunned and looked up from the paper he was reading.
“Petunia! She totally blames me for our mother’s death!”
“What? Why?” James asked.
“Because our mother was killed by a wizard, and I was there!”
“That’s not fair. I mean you couldn’t possible-”
“It was my fault.” Lily said silently.
“What?”
“If we had just joined or done something, Voldemort wouldn’t-”
“Oh no! Lily, that’s not true.”
“She’s right. I mean-”
“Lily Evans! You stop now, and listen to me!” James said in a very firm tone.
Lily stopped babbling and looked at James with big eyes, again filled with tears.
“You remember right before my dad died?” James asked and Lily nodded. “You told me not to blame myself, because you knew nothing good would come out of it.”
“But James-”
“Shh! No ‘buts’.” James said and raised a finger. “I can say the same to you now, but I won’t, because you’re too smart to need a guy to retell the things you self have said very wisely once.”
Lily didn’t say anything and just stood and looked up at James very unhappy. James looked down at her with raised eyebrows for a long time. At last he gave her a long and warm hug, which seamed like it lasted for ever.
“Want to go out to my place?” James asked Lily after the hug.
Lily nodded and James took her hand and they walked outside together. James led Lily through the shrubbery and out on the little spot. James sat with his back at a stone.
“Come here.” He said and Lily lay down with her head at James’s lap, looking out over the lake and the meadow.
James began to stroke her hair slowly with his one hand. The other was holding around Lily’s one hand. Some birds flew out from the bushed and their happy tweets filled the peaceful spot. They flew towards the blue sky where one single cloud flew past the sun and it seamed much brighter.
“I hate the weather!” Lily said suddenly and looked up. “It seams so happy!”
James signed “We can’t control everything in this world.” He said and looked down at Lily who looked out over the lake again.
“I know… It’s just hard to fell so powerless. To not be the one who decide what happens in one’s life.”
“Yeah…”
There was silence for some time while they both watched the lake sparkle in the sun and the flowers and trees blow in the wind. Suddenly a brown rabbit ran out from a bush and al the way over the meadow to the lake.
“What is it like?” Lily asked and broke the silence.
“What do you mean?” James asked her back.
“To be a stag. When you’re the stag, what is it like?”
James looked into the sky and sighed. “It’s nothing like this… I’m the same, but feel free and independent at the same time. It used to be my escapism when I was downhearted for some reason. It still is. Why do you ask?”
“I don’t know, but it sounds wonderful.”
“It is…”

Okay, this chapter is quite long considered how long the chapters in this story use to be. biggrin.gif First I had divided it in two, but then I thought I wanted to be nice to you all biggrin.gif Enjoy!

109
The funeral was a living hell for Lily. She sat next to James with her hand in his, but Petunia didn’t talk much to her, and halfway through the ceremony Lily realised something.
“James?” She whispered.
James looked from the vicar to Lily. “Yeah?”
“I have no family left… My sister hates me, and all of my parents and their brothers and sisters have died too. Tess left to America and Wendy… she’s not here too. I have no one.”
“That’s not true… you have me.” James said and gave Lily’s hand a little squeeze. “…and my mother.”
Lily gave a little snort and smiled at the last. She looked up at the white coffin with red roses at. It felt like the beginning and the end at the same time. Lily felt her eyes fill with tears and slowly they began to roll down her cheeks.
James gave her hand another squeeze and kissed her forehead. Lily looked up at him and saw his eyes were filled with tears too. He formed the words ‘I love you’ with his lips and Lily responded with ‘And I love you… very much’. James smiled and gave Lily another kiss on the forehead.
After the ceremony had ended Lily and James stayed for a little longer and let people condole to them. It didn’t seam to have an end to Lily.
Lily was sent home by James who stayed back and cleaned up after everyone had left. As she entered the house back home Helena stood in the door into the kitchen, waiting for her.
“How are you, dear?” She asked.
Lily looked at her through the tears. “Awful.”
“Thought so too. Come into the living room and have some hot chocolate.”
“I don’t think hot chocolate will help, Helena.”
“No, nothing but time will help right now. But you need some energy after such a hard day.”
Lily nodded and followed Helena inside the living room. Lily got a cup of chocolate and sat down in a chair next to Helena. None of them spoke for some time. Lily just looked out of the window, into the sky which was blue again and seamed too happy. Helena talked about something, but Lily didn’t really listen.
When she had finished the chocolate she went upstairs and tried to get some sleep, but found that she couldn’t. After she had lain in the bed for what seamed like years, she heard the door open and looked up. James entered. He smiled slightly to her. When she didn’t return the smile he moved over to her and sat down on the bedside. Lily had still not moved any muscle and lay all still. After some minutes of silence Lily sat up and James put his arm around her.
“You’ll get through this.” He just said.
“I really hope so.” Lily said and sighed.

As the late day turned into early night and after that midnight, James and Lily had gone to bed.
James sat up suddenly as he had had a smaller nightmare which had awakened him. He could hear the rain against the windows, but not a sleeping person next to him. He turned his head towards the space where Lily used to lay, but she wasn’t there.
“Lily?” He asked in the darkness, but knew if she wasn’t in the bed, she wasn’t anywhere in the room.
He got up and walked out of the room and downstairs. Lily wasn’t in the kitchen or the living room. She wasn’t in any of the bathrooms or the study rooms. James had almost given up when he stood in the kitchen for the fourth time and looked around, but then he saw a small figure out in the garden. It was a girl with red hair and she was wearing a green t-shirt (James recognised it as one of his own), that was all too big for her. The rain had soaked the t-shirt and the red hair was dark because it was soaked too. She sat on a bench with her head in her hands and looked into the sky.
James slowly walked over to the doors that led out to the garden and soundlessly opened them. He walked outside and sat down next to Lily. She didn’t look up. They both sat for a couple of minutes in silence, watching the black sky.
“Why are you here?” James asked when they had sat there for about five minutes.
“Couldn’t sleep.” Lily said shortly.
“All right.” James said and let his hand run through his wet hair. “Aren’t you freezing? Because I am.”
“You’re only wearing shorts, silly.” Lily said and looked at him for the first time.
She smiled a bit of James’s stupidity.
James looked down. He was only wearing shorts. He grinned and looked at Lily again.
“Yeah. I’m glad I have you to tell me what I’m wearing.”
“You’re welcome.”
James leaned forward and let his head rest in his hands which rested on his knees. He looked at the lake where small drops kept banging against the surface.
“Do you realise that one day we’ll die too?” Lily asked James unexpected.
James lifted his head from his hands and looked back at her. He thought for a while.
“No… I hope there’s a long time to that happens, but you can never be sure what the tomorrow brings. Therefore I live as if I should die tomorrow.”
Lily smiled slightly. “Such wisely words from a troublemaker.”
James snorted. “Thank you.”
Lily looked a bit more out over the meadow and so did James. Suddenly he got up and grabbed her hands. She looked questioned at him.
“Come.” He just said and pulled her up.
He ran down to the back of the garden with Lily in his one hand. Then they ran through a small gate down towards the meadow. Then they ran through the rain and down the muddy hill. When they were almost down James stopped up very abrupt and Lily slipped into him. They both fell forward and landed in the mud. James on his stomach with Lily on the top of him. They slid a few feet further down the hill and then stopped.
Lily started to laugh, and so did James. Lily slowly pushed herself of James and got up. She tried to help him up by offering him her hand, but instead of getting up, James pulled Lily down in the mud one more time.
“AH!” Lily shrieked as she fell down next to James, who was grinning. “You are so dead!”
She grabbed some mud and threw it right in the face of James.
“Hey!” James exclaimed and dried the mud of his face.
He threw himself over Lily and grabbed some mud too and squeezed it into her hair.
“James, get of!” Lily cried, grinning.
But when James did not get of, Lily grabbed some more mud and smashed it at James. Like this they lay for a couple of minutes before they stopped sudden at the flash of a lightning lightened the grounds up. Some silent seconds went before a deep thunder was heard. Lily shrank a bit and crept into James. He looked down at her and put his arms around her.
“Don’t you like thunder?” He whispered.
“No!” She said and trembled. “I like rain, but not thunder.”
“Then let’s get inside.” James said and got up.
He offered Lily a helping hand and then helped her up the muddy hill again. They slipped a couple of times, but managed to make the top.
They went inside and stood in the doorway and looked at the lightning over the land far away, but both were sure it neared them. After a couple of minutes they both went upstairs and went to bath to get all the mud away. Lily spent a lot more time in the bath than James, because she had mud in her hair too. At last James got impatient and stuck his head inside the shower.
“What’s taking you so long?”
“The mud you put in my hair won’t get out!” Lily said to him.
“Sorry. Do you need help?” James asked and looked up and down of Lily.
“No, I need you to get out and let me bath by myself!” Lily responded and turned her back to James.
He grinned. “You’re not comfortable with me?”
“Yes I am. I just want to bath without someone looking at me!”
“It’s not like I haven’t seen you before…” James mumbled as he shrugged and pulled his head back.
Lily stopped rubbing her hair free from mud and lifted her head. She slowly turned and stuck her head outside. James stood with his arms crossed and leaned against the wall.
“Sorry.” She said and James lifted his head. “It’s just… I-”
James got up and walked over to her. He put his one finger over her lips. “Shh… You don’t need to apologize. It’s okay. You’re having a hard time.”
He kissed her softly at the lips.
Lily smiled slightly. “Thanks.”
“Here.” James said and gave her a red t-shirt. “Let’s go back again.”
Lily quickly dried herself and joined James in their room. They sat down in the couch and James sat the fireplace on fire. Lily sat for a couple of minutes and stared into the fire. James put his arms around her and she put her head at his shoulder. He slowly stoked her wet hair as they sat together and stared into the fire. Suddenly thunder was heard over their heads is if the storm was right over the house. Lily crept into James and he put his other arm around her too and kissed her forehead. Lily was shaking of fear.
“Lily, please calm down. It’s just thunder. It won’t harm you.”
She lifted her head and looked up at James. “It once did.”
“But this time I won’t let it harm you.” James smiled down at Lily.
Lily smiled back and hugged James a bit more tightly. She felt for the first time in several days that everything would get better from now on.

Okay, I know not much happened, but I thought it showed that Lily was about to move on. Please leave some feedback wink.gif

As April turned into May, and May into June, Lily got better for each day. She and Helena had even started to plan the wedding. James wasn’t much for planning it, but the girls insisted that he had his input in it. They decided that they only wanted a small and quite wedding. It could easily be ruined by Voldemort and his Death Eaters.
Lily and Helena had made the biggest discussion; roses or lilies. James and Helena had both said lilies because of Lily’s name. Lily wanted roses because it was what she found most romantic and the other thing would be silly.
“Yeah. Perhaps lilies are beautiful, but roses are classic and romantic!” Lily sighed one day; it seamed like the hundredth time she said that, and yet they had gotten nowhere.
Helena leaned back in her chair and sighed too. James sat still and looked out of the window. Lily thought for a while.
“What did you have at your wedding, Helena?” She asked after some time.
“Tulips. In every possible color.” Helena answered and smiled.
“What did you mother want? And Jonathan? And his mother?”
“My own mother wanted orchids and Jonathan and his mother wanted roses.”
Lily smiled satisfied. “And who got her wish fulfilled?”
Helena sighed. James came back to reality and looked at Lily.
“I’m going with the roses too.” He said, and when he received a piercing look from his mother he added. “It’s Lily’s big day. Not mine, not yours, mom. Lily’s.”
Helena sighed again and then smiled. “You’re both right. It should be roses. Red and white?”
“Red and white.” Lily said confirming.
James smiled. “My two girls are getting along.”
“‘Your’ girls?” Lily asked him with raised eyebrows.
“Yeah! My mother and my soon-to-be-wife!” He nodded confirming and smiled self-confident.
Lily and Helena looked at each other and giggled.
“I’m glad you at least believe in it yourself.” Lily said.
“What about invitations?” Helena asked. “You have only made ten or something.”
Lily and James looked at each other and James nodded.
“We just want a small wedding… hopefully not more than twenty people.” He said.
“It’s the safest.” Lily added.
Helena nodded. “I understand.”
“And James you’re sure Remus wants to follow me up the isle?” Lily asked. “I mean he said yes when I asked him, but you think he wants to too?”
James grinned. “Yeah. Remus loves you as a sister and he’s thrilled to do it. I think it’s a great honor to him.”
“Okay… He just seams like the only one since my father couldn’t do it himself.”
“Trust me. Remus is honored.”
“Okay, good.”
Lily smiled and picked up some papers and looked at them.
“What’s that?” James asked and tried to grab the paper, but Lily pulled it away.
“Nothing, you should see.” She said simple.
“Wha-a-aat?” He asked in an annoying voice.
“It’s just some dresses I have been looking at. You shouldn’t see them.”
James crossed his arms and leaned back with a sulking expression.
“Can I have a look?” Helena asked.
Lily gave her the paper. “It was some Kate sent me. They’re from this muggleshop in my hometown.”
“They’re beautiful!” Helena said. “Wish they had been like this when I got married.”
Lily smiled to Helena before she turned her gaze to James. “You don’t need to stay longer. We can plan the rest another day.”
James smiled at her. “Sure?”
Lily nodded.
“Then I’m going to visit Sirius.” He got up and kissed Lily on the cheek. “See you both later.”
James walked out the door and a small crack was heard.
“I like all the dresses, Lily. You should go look at them another day and try some of them.” Helena said.
Lily looked away from the doorway and at Helena. “Monday in a week?” She asked.
“You want me to come?”
“Yeah.” Lily said and nodded. “Actually I wanted both you and my mother, but seeing that she’s… not here anymore… I just want you to come.”
“I’m much honored.” Helena said. “And Monday in a week is fine.”
Lily smiled. “Okay then. I think I’ll ask Jackie, Amy and Kate if they want to come too. Is that okay?”
Helena grinned. “It’s your dress, not mine.”

Hey! Okay, this chapter was supposed to be a great chapter where they went find Lily’s wedding dress, but I just… something seamed wrong when I wrote it, and I couldn’t make it different. It was like the chapter was stuck inside my head and didn’t want to be changed. I know it sounds silly, but that’s the way I felt tongue.gif

“Oh, Lily! Look at this one!”
“Or this!”
Lily fell back on a chair and sighed. She, Kate, Amy, Jackie and Helena had been looking for a dress for hours now. It was a big shop with twelve rows with dresses which all seamed endless, and Lily was sure there were a million different dresses. This far she had had ten white, four red, and seven in different pastels on. None of them were good enough. Helena came running from the fourth row with a big white dress more and Amy had found one in row seven.
“Let me see them, then.” Lily sighed and grabbed the one Amy had brought her.
It had a big slip and was faint blue and had laces around the neck. Lily shook her head and pushed it away.
“Then see this one.” Helena said.
Lily was handled a white long dress with big white shining pearls twisted all the way down and to the edge. It was strapless and had a lovely curve over the chest. It needed to be tied on the back with white bonds of silk.
She looked at it a few seconds before getting up and walking towards the changing room. She quickly pulled of the white dress she had tried on before this one and put on the new one. It was loose around her because it needed to be tied.
“Helena? Can you help me?”
Helena stuck her head inside. “Of course dear.”
Lily turned her back to Helena and she felt how Helena tied it. She straightened up as the dress was finished and looked at her. It was actually pretty. It fell lovely down her legs and brought out her figure. Yet something wasn’t right. Helena red Lily’s face.
“We’ll find one to you, Lily. Don’t worry.”
Lily walked out of the changing room and her three friends looked at her.
“It’s wonderful, Lily!” Jackie said.
“It really is.” Amy gave her right.
Kate, on the other hand, just looked at Lily with a thinking expression and her hand up to her mouth. “Nope… it’s not the one…” She said slowly.
Lily smiled. “I didn’t think so either. I mean… It’s very pretty, but it’s just not the one.”
She walked away from them as they all began looking again. She looked down row eleven, but then continued to row twelve. It was filled with dust because most of the dresses in the row were old and outworn. Not many would bother by looking down there. She walked a few steps down when someone called her name.
“Lily, come back here! There’s nothing down there.” Kate called.
“I’m just looking…” Lily said.
She slowly moved down the row. She brushed dust of some of the plastic bags with dresses in. Most of them seamed very old, like something from the past century. She looked at a few; they had style, but were nothing she would wear to a wedding. She looked back and saw that she had gone very far down the row. She couldn’t hear the others no more. She picked a light green dress out and continued down the row. She picked a few more white dresses before she made the end and found herself face to face with the wall. She sighed and was about to turn around when she saw a plastic bag that had fallen down to the floor. She picked it up to hang it back on the rack, but stopped midair.
The four other dresses fell down to the floor and she ran back. She drew the curtain and dropped the white dress she was wearing and wore the new one.
“Everyone!” She called. “I’ve found it. Come and look!”
Suddenly the curtains were pulled away and the four other girls were looking at Lily in her dress.
It was pure white, almost shinning, like it hadn’t been used before. It was strapless and a little longer than thigh-length; just above her knees. There were a broad red belt around her waist just beneath her chest and the dress was close to her body all the way down to her hips where it widened a bit out and hung loose around her thighs.
It was far from a traditional wedding dress, but Lily loved it.
“Wow.” Amy sighed.
“Yeah… You look amazing.” Jackie gave her right.
“That really is it!” Kate said.
Helena just nodded. “Couldn’t have found a better one myself. You look gorgeous.”
Lily smiled. This definitely was the dress.

Lily sat at the kitchen table and looked at a letter when James walked in. He looked at her a few seconds and found something was wrong. He slowly walked over to her, not seeing the envelope on the table.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” He asked and sat in the chair next to her.
Lily pushed the envelope towards James. “Petunia and Vernon sent their invitation back.”
“Oh…”
“They didn’t even answer.”
“I’m sorry.”
Lily snorted. “It’s not your fault... It’s just… Arrgh!” Lily exclaimed and let her fist hit the table.
In the same second the envelope set on fire with flames there were several feet high.
“Wow!” James exclaimed and got up.
Lily looked shocked by her own actions too and quickly pulled her wand out and tried to put out the fire, but she couldn’t concentrate with all the thoughts that were going through her heads.
At last James found his wand and put out the fire. He made the rest of the letter disappear and looked at the table. It didn’t look burned at all.
“Some temper you have, huh?” He grinned.
Lily couldn’t stop herself from smiling. “Sorry. For a second it just got to me…”
“It’s okay.” James said. “We can’t always be strong.”
Lily smiled weakly and James pulled her into a hug.
“I just never thought she would such thing.” Lily mumbled into James’s shoulder.
“We can’t control other actions… But I must give you right; I had never expected someone’s sister act like that.”
“I don’t even know what was at my mind when I said I wanted to invite her.”
James shrugged. “It’s the way we are. Nice to people and always believing in the good.”
“You’re lucky you don’t have any siblings.” Lily mumbled.
“I have Sirius.” James said. “He’s like a brother to me, and needs to be looked after too.”
Lily snorted, but then got serious. “What… what actually happened the day Sirius ran away from home?” She asked.
She knew Sirius had run away from home and come to live there, she just didn’t know why. They broke the long hug and James looked at Lily.
“Sirius’s parents have other… – um what to say? – views of life and people.”
“I don’t get that… Like what?”
“Everything. Muggles for instance. He’s family are only purebloods, marrying their cousins and stuff like that to keep it that way.”
“Ew, that’s disgusting.”
James nodded. “Yeah. But one day he had had enough. He and his mother had this huge fight involving everything did wrong… mainly the fact that he was in Gryffindor: the house of mudbloods and bloodtraitors.” James told bitterly. “Then everything came up. The fact that he was friends with me and Remus; the other bloodtraitor and the halfblood. He told me you were mentioned too. You and him had talked at the station before you were picked up, and of course she didn’t know the last name ‘Evans’, and things just got ugly. He was called a bloodtraitor, just like me and before he slammed the door he was told never to return to the house.”
Lily had not realized it, but at this point she sat and starred at James with open mouth. She could not believe someone could be that mean to anyone.
“He was kicked out of the house because he talked to me?” She asked stunned.
“Not just you of course; me and Remus too. Peter was never a problem as he’s pureblood, but he had just had enough.”
Lily nodded. “I understand that.”
“So don’t ever think you have a bad family, Sirius has suffered much more than any of us can imagine.”
“Yeah… Wow, I suddenly feel bad for him.”
James grinned. “Not something you’re used to.”
“No…”

Okay, first of all, I want to apologize. It’s been… what? Five days without a post? And I can’t say enough how sorry I am. But I’ve been ill and have had loads of homework. And then all I can come up with is this short lousy chapter. Please forgive me.

113
Three weeks before the wedding, Lily begun to get very nervous. James was nervous too, but he on the other hand didn’t show it like Lily did. He was al calm when it was just the two of them, because he didn’t want to make Lily more nervous, but when he was with Sirius, Remus and Peter he complained about everything. What if Lily changed her mind and didn’t show up at the wedding? What if this all had just been a dream and they were just to begin their seventh year where he and Lily got together?
“That thought is just ridiculous, Prongs!” Remus said when James told them about his worries.
“It would have been a pretty long dream, if you ask me.” Peter joined in.
“Yeah! And look!” Sirius said and hit James very hard on the upper arm.
“OUCH!” James exclaimed and rubbed his arm. “What was that for?”
“If it was a dream you should have been awoke now.” Sirius said and shrugged.
James grinned and shook his head.
“You’re a married man in a month!” Remus said, smiling. “I would never have thought that about you.”
James stopped grinning. “Me neither.” He said honest. “But I feel ready for it when I think about it…”
“Prongs are getting married!” Sirius exclaimed and beat holes in the air.
“Yeah.” Peter said. “You’re gonna wake up to the same face every morning for the rest of your life!”
“And that’s a long time.” Sirius remarked.
“Actually, I don’t feel bad about it. Lily is and has always been the girl of my dreams. I’m looking forward to grow old with her, have children and see them grow up and go to Hogwarts. It’s what I have always wanted.”
“Hey!” Sirius suddenly said and all looked at him. “I’ll throw you a stag night! With lots and lots of girls!”
“No.” James said silently. “I have Lily and that’s it. I don’t want to look at other girls. I think it should be just the four of us a night.”
“Ahh! Prongs, think about it! You have to have one more night where you can look all that you want.”
“Padfoot. Listen to the groom.” Remus said. “If Prongs doesn’t want a party, then let it just be us.”
Sirius sighed. “All right, then. But we should at least go out.”
“Yeah.” Peter squealed excited.
“We could do that.” James said thinking. “And it’s full moon right around the wedding.”
Sirius looked at him. “Prongs, are you thinking what I’m thinking?”
James nodded, smiling. “I think I am.”
“Oh no, guys!” Remus interrupted. “That’s unwise to go out with a werewolf the night before you’re getting married. What if something went wrong?”
“It won’t.” James said simple.
“We can handle you. We always have.” Sirius added.
“Yeah, except for the one in last year where I almost ate Peter and then ran away. I could have bitten several persons that night.”
“But you didn’t.” Sirius said. “And Peter’s okay now, right Peter?”
“Yeah.” Peter said. “I think you should go. It’s James’s last night as a bachelor and he should have his wish fulfilled. It’s only fair.”
Remus looked at Peter for several seconds. Maybe it was because it was Peter who had said way much more than he used too; maybe it was because he was right, but at last he agreed.
James smiled. “Thanks, Moony.”
“Yeah!” Sirius exclaimed and smiled.

Again, sorry, but please leave me some feedback? smile.gif

Hey.
Err… I kind of thing most of you know what will happen in these chapters. I hope I don’t disappoint you all.

114
It was early the day before the wedding. James was pretty sure Lily was close to a nerve breakdown. She ran around trying to fix everything for the next day, and didn’t sit down in more than ten seconds. First Lily was sure something was wrong with the flowers, next it was the place cards.
James sat still on his chair in the kitchen when Lily came rushing from the backyard heading towards living room. James eyed his chance and quickly got up and ran after Lily. He caught her around the waist and pulled her back to him.
“Baby, try to relax just two seconds!” He sighed as Lily tried to go free of his grip.
“But the tables…” Lily tried.
“Not now…” James said. “You need to relax. My mom can fix that.”
“But what if-”
James put his hands over her mouth.
“One more word, and I’m calling the wedding off!” He said in a very serious tone.
Lily stopped to try to talk and after some time James slowly removed his hand. Lily looked up at him.
“Would you do that?” She asked, looking sad.
James snorted. “Of course not! But you need to relax. Everything will be okay.”
Lily sighed. “Fine.”
James slowly let go of her. He studied her for a couple of seconds.
“Now, come. Let’s do something relaxing.”
Lily nodded and they turned to go towards James and her room with James in front. When they reached the door to the hall Lily turned around and ran out towards the garden again. James stopped and looked behind where he saw Lily jumping out the door into the garden.
“Oh no, you’re not!” He muttered and ran after her.
He ran out the door and saw Lily in the back of the yard looking at the tables. James ran towards her, but she heard him and turned around. She started to run away from him to the other end of the garden.
“You come here, now!” James yelled while running after her.
“NO!” She grinned and ran out of the garden out on the street.
James sprinted after her. He ran out the gates and looked up and down the street and saw Lily. He stopped for two seconds before he started to run again. He gave everything his legs allowed and soon was right behind her. He stretched his arms forward and caught Lily around the waist. He stopped and Lily almost tumbled forward with her head.
“Ah! James!”
James lifted her off the ground and over his shoulder.
“We’re going back now!”
“But I don’t need to relax!”
“Yes you do.” James said shortly and started to go back to the house.
“James, people are staring.” Lily said embarrassed and covered her eyes.
James looked at the people who sat in their front lawns and looked over the street. Some of them grinned at them; others just looked at them with interest.
“She’s trying to run away, James?” An old man with a glint in his eye called.
James grinned. “I just can’t make her stay.” He said and shrugged.
“You just hold on to her properly.” The man said and winked at James.
Lily grinned too as James continued with her over his shoulder.
After some time Lily sighed. “You can put me down now, James.”
“Naah. I’m more comfortable with this.” James said ad kept walking.
Lily sighed, this time more heavily, like deciding to do something. And then, without warning she licked James’s neck.
“EW!” He exclaimed and let go of Lily so she dumped down next to him. He still had his arm around her. “What was that for?”
“I like to walk myself.” Lily said shortly.
James looked down at her with a slight smile at his face.
“Is there something wrong?” He asked.
Lily was stunned. “No. Why would you think that?”
“Well… you just seam a bit… I don’t know… Not yourself these days.”
Lily smiled. “I’m getting married. It’s the nerves.”
“Are you afraid of marrying me?”
“No. It’s just… I don’t know. Aren’t you nervous too?”
“Yeah. Of course… well, I was. But then I realized that I’m marrying the most beautiful and lovely girl I always have wanted. There’s nothing to be afraid or nervous of.”
Lily smiled a bit more. “I love you.” She just said.
“And I love you. It’s going to be like a dream.”
“The best dream I have ever had.” Lily said, smiling.
James kissed Lily lightly on the lips. Lily put her arms around James neck, and they stood for a couple of minutes, just kissing. As they broke apart Lily saw a couple of people where looking at them. She blushed slightly. She let her hands slide down and grabbed James’s one hand.
“Come, let’s go back.”

115
Later the day both James and Lily went to their parties. James with the Sirius, Remus and Peter. And Lily went with Tess to Kate where Jackie and Amy were too. They had both been home around eleven and gone straight to bed. James had not fallen asleep, but only pretended. Lily had taken some time to fall asleep because she was so anxious about the next day.
It was midnight when James sat up in the bed slowly, not to wake up Lily. He slowly got out of bed and pulled a jumper over his head, then he went over to Lily’s side of the bed. He kissed her cheek.
“See you at the altar tomorrow.” He whispered and sneaked out the door.
He ran soundless down the stairs and out on the street. He made sure no one was out or looked out the windows before he apparated away.
Next he found himself face to face with a big black dog.
“Hello, Padfoot.” He nodded.
The dog turned into Sirius and smiled back at James. “Prongs.” He acknowledged.
“Where’s Moony?”
“Right down in that shack. He’s transforming in these minutes.”
James heard a howl and nodded. “And Wormtail?”
“Errm…” Sirius said while looking around them. “There!” He pointed down to the grass.
James eyed a little ran, which soon had transformed into Peter.
“Hey, Prongs.”
“Wormtail.” James said and nodded. “Should we get going?”
Sirius and Peter nodded before transforming. James looked at the full moon before transforming.
He ran after Sirius, who had Peter hanging by the tail, down towards the little house where Remus was in. James sprinted after them.
Sirius opened the door as they arrived down there, and slowly a full-grown werewolf came outside. It started to run so James and Sirius followed. They ran over a meadow towards a forest. Sirius put up the speed to catch up on Remus. James just followed.
They made the side of Remus when Peter fell of Sirius and he had to stop and run back to pick him up. James stopped too and looked while Peter bit himself at Sirius’s tail again. He was about to turn around when suddenly something hit him very hard in his side. He fell to the ground and saw Remus stand and looking down at him.
James knew that Remus could not control himself, but he got a bit irritated when things like this happened. James got up, but when he was on his legs again he felt a sharp pain in his stomach and gasped before falling to the ground one more time. Suddenly Sirius jumped over him and right into Remus who was about to attack one more time. Sirius fought against the big werewolf who at this moment tried to harm every possible thing. It picked up Sirius and he flew right into a tree and down at the ground where he lay still.
James got up once more as Remus came storming towards him. He put down his head to prevent Remus to get near him. What he didn’t see was that Remus jumped up and landed at his back. James tried to shake him of, and then suddenly he felt a pain all the way up his back. Remus had placed his teeth in his back.
If he had been able to, he would scream. His legs gave away and he landed hard on the ground for the third time that night. He head paws running on the ground and saw Sirius come running and push Remus of him. Now Sirius was fighting Remus. Peter was gone. Sirius was on two legs, sneering and biting of Remus, who acted the same. Suddenly Sirius bit Remus in the one leg and he howled.
James saw Remus running away deeper into the forest, and Sirius turning back to human form run towards him. Then it all went dark.

Hello there! biggrin.gif this is a slightly longer chapter than usual.

Lily had woken up the next morning at seven. Her stomach hurt and she was shaking slightly. This was the day she had waited and prepared to for months. Tess opened the door slowly and looked at Lily who sat up in the bed.
“Hey, sweetie. Ready for today?”
Lily nodded. “Yeah…”
“But umm… where’s James?”
Lily looked at the empty spot next to her. James wasn’t there, but she just smiled.
“I suppose he went over to Sirius’s house a bit earlier than he said he would at first.”
Tess nodded. “Okay. Want to take a shower before eating breakfast?”
“Yeah.”
Lily quickly got up and showered before eating breakfast. Around nine Kate arrived. The two girls should help Lily getting ready.
“Hey Lily-flower!” Kate said and hugged Lily.
“Hey Kate!” Lily said while hugging Kate. “This is Tess from school.” She added as they broke apart and Kate saw Tess.
The two girls said hello before turning to Lily again.
“What were you thinking with your hair?” Kate asked.
“I don’t know.” Lily sighed.
“I think curls.” Tess said.
“Me too.” Kate nodded.
“It’s curls then.” Lily grinned. “Should we get to work?”
“Yeah…” Tess said, but suddenly slapped herself over the mouth. “I haven’t even seen your dress, Lily!” She exclaimed.
Lily grinned. “I’ll show you. I gave it to Helena. James couldn’t see it, you know…”
All the girls giggled.
“I could go finding Helena.” Kate said and walked into the kitchen where Helena was.
Lily turned to Tess with a serious expression.
“What?” Tess asked and grinned.
“You’re not mad that I made Kate my maid of honor?” She asked in a rush. “I mean you’re my best friend along with her, but I have known her since we were both four and-”
“Lily, chill please!” Tess interrupted.
Lily blushed. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay. I totally understand. I would ‘ave done the same if it was me.”
“Thanks.” Lily said and smiled. “What’s by the way up with the accent?”
Lily grinned and Tess blushed.
“It’s those bloody Americans!” Tess said with as much English accent as possible.
They grinned even more.
Kate came out to the, carrying the dress. Tess gasped.
“Oh, Lily! It’s so beautiful!”
“Yeah isn’t it?” Lily smiled. “But couldn’t we go up and do my hair now?”
Both girls shrugged and went after Lily upstairs. Tess started to curl Lily’s hair with her wand and Kate helped her with the make up. The girls grinned all the time and had a lot fun. Helena came at last to help with Lily’s hair.
After an hour they were finished and there were less than half an hour to the ceremony begun.
Lily got up and looked down into the backyard. Everything was ready. She finally found herself relaxing for the first time for several days. She knew she was ready and James as too. James. Where were he and the rest of the boys by the way?
“Tess. Have you seen Sirius or any of the others?” Lily asked.
“Nope.” Tess said and shook her head. “I’ll just go downstairs to look.”
Tess ran out of the room and downstairs.
Kate turned to Lily from the window. “Who’s the best man?” She asked.
“It’s Sirius.” Lily said. “He’s James’s best friend. Very found of girls, but don’t, Kate! He and Tess have this past, and I wouldn’t like a war to break out or something.”
Kate grinned. “Of course not. Actually, I’m kind of dating someone at the moment.”
“You are?”
“Yeah. But it’s not serious yet.”
Tess came into the room again. “None of them are here yet. But your two friends, Jackie and Amy have arrived with their boyfriends.”
“Okay.” Lily said and smiled.
“I’ll go down to welcome them.” Kate said and walked out.
Tess and Lily stood for a couple of seconds in silence.
“Shouldn’t they be here by now?” Lily asked Tess. She couldn’t hide she was a bit anxious.
“Yeah. But you know Sirius and James. They always wait for to the last minute to show up.”
Lily nodded. “Yeah. That’s right…”
“I’m just going down under again.” Tess said and walked out again.
She turned to stare out of the window once more. After some more minutes Lily could see Helena’s brother arrive with his wife. They settled themselves at one of the benches. Shortly after Jackie walked out in the garden accompanied with Martin. Amy and Phil followed.
Lily began to shake again. There were less than five minutes now. And where were the Marauders?
“Tess?” She called.
Tess came running up the stairs. “Yeah?”
“The boys haven’t still arrived?”
Tess shook her head. “No.”
“Can you go and check on them at Sirius’s?”
“Yeah.” Tess said and apparated. She was back half a minute later. “They’re not there!”
“WHAT?” Lily yelled.
“They’re not at Sirius’s.”
Lily let herself dump down at a chair. “Oh my god! He’s changed his mind.”
“No, Lily! Don’t say that. They’re probably just somewhere and a bit late.”
Lily put her head in her hands.
“Oh no, oh no, oh no, no, no, no!” She kept saying.
“I’m going out to find out if Helena knows something.” Tess said and got up.
Lily sat for a couple of minutes before getting up and looking into the garden. Now Jonathan’s sister had arrived too. What would they all say if nothing happened? James was the only nephew they all had. And nor Jonathan’s sister or Helena’s brother had any children themselves. What would they say if they didn’t get married?
Lily slapped herself. How could she think things like that? But where was James?

There was three loud *CRACK*s down in the hall and Lily hurried down out in the corridor and over to the stairs. She ran down and saw the Marauders stand in suits. Remus and Peter looked a bit white and James had closed eyes and was supported by Sirius.
Lily gasped. Then she found her usual self and ran over to the guys. She took another look at James before she turned her gaze at Sirius. Then she swung her hand at Sirius who barely reacted but simply looked shocked and a bit tiered.
“What was that for?!” he asked.
Lily ignored him. “What happened?” She demanded to know.
“Not now, Lily.” Remus said. “Come with some stimulating potion. It’s much needed.”
“Yeah, I see that!” Lily said and rushed into the kitchen.
“And bring some healing if you have that too!”
Lily opened a smaller closet and grabbed three bottles. She ran back and gave them to Sirius. He made James drink them. James blinked a couple of times.
“Okay…” Lily said slowly. “Now, Sirius, the bridesmaid’s name is Kate and she’s right inside the living room. It’s her with the blonde curls. Peter, you help James up the aisle to the altar. I guess he can stand by himself at that time. Remus, just wait here to we have to go out.”
The three boys nodded and Sirius and Peter hurried out with James.
Lily looked after them, hoping it wasn’t anything serious that had happened to James. After a couple of minutes standing in the kitchen, she was about to walk out, her temper still high. She grabbed Remus’ arm, hoping he could not feel how nervous she was.

James was standing by the alter, slowly getting better. He looked down himself. He had no idea how he had gotten into the suit, but knew what was about to happen. As the music started to play he looked up towards the house. Lily came walking out side by side with Remus. She looked wonderful, with a short white dress and red belt. She wore a small bouquet of red and white roses. He couldn’t get his eyes of her. When she eyed James she smiled. James couldn’t help but notice she looked a bit pale.
Like time had flown quicker Lily was standing right in front of him.
“Hey.” James just said and smiled.
Lily just smiled. It seamed a bit forced.
“Anything wrong?” He whispered.
The vicar had started to speak.
“What happened to you?” Lily asked, looking anything but happy.
“Nothing.” James answered automatically.
“Can you please stop a second?” Lily asked turning to the vicar.
He looked a bit taken back by the interruption, but stopped and Lily turned to James.
“That wasn’t ‘nothing’!” She said between her teeth. She seamed angry.
“All right!” James sighed. “We where out with Remus yesterday and he attacked me.”
“What?” Lily said a bit too loud and shrilly.
“Lily, I’m fine now. And I’m very sorry about making you anxious and everything.”
“You have just no idea how anxious and scared I was, have you? I thought you had left me!”
“You know I wouldn’t do that!”
“Yes, but I was very scared you know!” Lily said. She had tears in her eyes.
“Okay, I’m really sorry! Baby, you know I love you more than life itself! That’s why we’re here now. I want be with you for the rest of my life. No other girl. Only you. I’m sorry for doing it. I love you.”
James leaned down and kissed Lily. And surprisingly she kissed him back.
The vicar cleared his throat. “Errm… you may now kiss the bride…” He said.
James broke away from Lily. “Sorry. Just continue now.”
People laughed. The vicar started to speak again, but James did not catch half of the words. He was lost in Lily’s eyes.
“…James Jonathan Potter, take Lily Marie Evans to your lawfully wedded wife?”
“More than anything in the world!” James grinned.
“And do you, Lily Marie Evans take James Jonathan Potter to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
“I do.” Lily whispered with tears in her eyes and grinned widely.
“You may now kiss the bride!”
James smiled at Lily and slowly bent down to kiss her.

“Ahem! Can I have everyone’s attention, please?”
James got up and everyone looked at him. He smiled.
“I don’t know if I’m supposed to make a speech. But it’s my wedding, so I do what I want.” James said and a few people laughed. “And it will just be a short one… Actually, I just want to say thanks. Thanks to all you who have come here today. Thanks to you who have helped Lily and I getting ready and helped us all the way. But most of all I want to say thank you to Lily.” James looked down at Lily who looked back at him with interest. “By marrying me today, you have made me the happiest man on earth. Right now I couldn’t ask for anything, because I have you. Since we first started dating you have done something to me. It’s not a bad changing, I like it.
“Four years ago, when I looked into your eyes, I saw a girl I was crazy about, a cute and sweet girl I wanted to date. That was all I knew about you. But then I got to know you and when I look into your eyes today I see much more. I see the girl – woman – I want live my whole life with and to grow old with. I see little Lilies and James’ run around in the backyard. I see them grow old and go to Hogwarts and one day they’ll be where you and I are today. You, Lily Potter, have made me the happiest man on earth. I can’t wish for no more. Thank you for marrying me.”
James had said what he wanted to say and slowly sat down. Everyone clapped, and some of the women were crying.
Lily whipped a single tear away from her eye and kissed James.
“That was so beautiful.” She said as they broke apart. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” James said and kissed her lightly.
Suddenly someone pattered James on the back and he broke apart from Lily. Sirius grinned back at him.
“That was some of a speech, Mate. I didn’t know you were that sensitive.”
“Don’t ruin the moment, Padfoot.” James said.
Sirius grinned even more. “That was beautiful, Prongs. You’re lucky about him, Lily.”
“I know.” Lily smiled.
James grabbed Lily’s hand and gave it a squeeze.

As the wedding came to an end and everyone slowly had left, James sent his mother to bed so he and Lily could go clean up in the garden.
“It sure has been some of a day, huh?” James asked as he waved his wand and made every chair disappear.
Lily nodded. “Yeah. Truly like a dream.”
She waved her wand at the plates, glasses and cutlery. They all flew into the kitchen and began to wash themselves up.
James walked slowly over to Lily and gave her a hug. She returned it after putting her wand into a pocket.
“So, how does it feel to be Mrs. Potter?” He asked her.
Lily thought for a minute. “Different than the ‘Evans’. But I’m going to miss it.”
“Miss being called ‘Evans’ instead of ‘Potter’ as you now should be known as?”
“No… not like that. I’m glad to be Lily Potter, but Lily Evans sounds good too.”
James grinned. “It does. But I personally like that you’re a Potter now instead of an Evans. That’s something I never thought would happen.”
Lily smiled and lifted her head to kiss James. He kissed her. First just on the forehead, but on the mouth right after. They both deepened the kiss and were so lost in each other that didn’t hear the footsteps that indicated that someone was approaching them.

“Ahh, the happy couple, I see.”
Lily and James quickly broke apart and turned to look at the person who had spoken. It was none other than Lord Voldemort.
“What are you doing here?” James asked aggressive.
“Just paying the happy couple a visit.”
“Leave.” James said and stepped in front of Lily while drawing his wand.
“Put your wand down, boy.”
“Leave.” James repeated cold.
Suddenly out of nowhere four masked men stepped out, all with wands out. Voldemort held his hand up, and James couldn’t move. One of the masked men grabbed Lily and dragged her in front of James and Voldemort.
“I’ll ask you, Potter, one last time. Will you join my army?” Voldemort said with an evil smile.
James looked from Lily up at him. “No!” He said through his teeth.
Voldemort sighed. “Crucio!” He cried and pointed his wand at Lily.
A Death Eater made a sudden movement, like about to run into her but seamed to change mind halfway and fell back in possession. Lily, who was on knees before, fell down on the ground and rolled backwards and forwards in pain. Her scream almost made James cry.
“Stop it!” James shouted.
Voldemort smiled and lifted the curse. “Changed your mind?”
James looked at Lily. She was getting back up and knees and spat some blood out. Her hair hung down so he could not see her face. Her fine, before white, wedding dress had brown stains all over.
“Let her go! Leave her out of this.”
“Join me and she will go free.”
“No…” Lily breathed. “James, don’t!”
“Shut your filthy mouth, mudblood!” A Death Eater said and stepped forwards and pushed to Lily with his foot so she fell back on the ground.
“Don’t touch her!” James said aggressive and stepped towards the Death Eater.
“Stay back, Potter, or your wife won’t live long.”
James stopped. “Let Lily go and take me.” He said and looked down at Lily.
He stepped towards the death eater with his wand down.
“No James!” Lily shouted. “Don’t let them take you!”
James looked sad at Lily. “Better me than you.” He said and smiled to her.
Another Death Eater stepped forward and grabbed James around the wrists. In the same second an explosion happened next to another Death Eater. He fell unconscious to the ground.
Voldemort looked around and his eyes narrowed. “Dumbledore.” He hissed between his teeth.
Lily lifted her head a bit more and looked around and so did James. And right, behind them Dumbledore was approaching with his wand held high and air blowing around him.
Voldemort hissed something and pointed his wand at Lily. A Blue light shot from his wand and hit her right in the chest. She fell unconscious to the ground too. James looked from Lily to Voldemort. What had he done?
James drew his own wand and pointed at Voldemort. Expeliarmus, he thought. Voldemort blocked it.
“What did you do to her?” James shouted.
He saw in the outside Dumbledore pointing his wand at Lily and muttering something. Voldemort grinned and James shot another spell at him. Again it was blocked.
“Fight!” James yelled. “Not just block!”
He was getting frustrated and had tears running form his eyes.
“Alright, Crucio!” Voldemort cried before James could do anything.
James’s legs gave away and he fell to the ground in pain. His bones were burning and it felt like the flesh was letting go of them. His head felt like exploding, burning and like being stabbed at the same time. The wounds Remus had giving him only hours before seamed to open again and started to bled. He screamed, but it seamed useless at this point.
Suddenly the curse was lifted and James opened his eyes. He saw Dumbledore stand in front of him with wand pointing at Voldemort, who didn’t look happy.
“To we meet another time.” Voldemort said and apparated away.
James looked towards Lily. She still lay on the ground with closed eyes. Dumbledore appeared in front of him and then it all went black.

“He looks a bit pale, doesn’t he?”
“Of course stupid! He’s lost so much blood and been through more pain than you can ever imagine.”
“Do you think he will wake up?”
“I…”
“I’m more concerned about Lily. The healers have not been able to make her respond to any of the things they have tried.”
“You just can’t leave us here, Prongs!”
“You have your whole life to go through! And what about Lily, will you just leave her here?”
Something in the back of James’s mind reacted. The name Lily and the voices. He blinked a couple of times.
“He- he’s awake!”
Someone pushed James’s glasses back on his nose and he could see three happy faces smile down to him.
“Hey guys…” He said to Sirius, Remus and Peter.
“I thought you might have left us!” Sirius exclaimed and let his hand cover one eye.
“Are- are you crying over me?” James asked and grinned.
“No!” Sirius said and dried the other eye.
The four marauders grinned. James sat a bit up in his bed.
“Where am I?” He asked.
“St Mungo’s.” Remus answered him shortly.
James looked a bit around. “Where’s Lily? You were talking about her, right?” He asked but the three men avoided his gaze. “Is… is she alright?”
“They don’t know.” Remus said. “She’s in another ward for more serious damages.”
“What?” James asked as he couldn’t believe what Remus told him.
“She has not yet woken up, James.” Sirius said. “Not yet.”
“Yet?” James asked. “For how long have I lain here?”
“A week.”
“A week?! I didn’t even suffer form some curse.”
“No, but the wounds you had from our night out… They had not healed on the inside yet and they opened and started to bleed. Very bad-” Sirius said, but his voice broke of.
“James, you almost died.” Remus finished.
“Yeah, but I didn’t!” He said a bit too aggressive. “Can I go see Lily now?”
In knocked at the door, and then it slowly opened. Albus Dumbledore stepped inside. They all nodded a ‘good day’ to him.
“See you have awoken, James.” Dumbledore said.
James tried to smile, but it didn’t work. He nodded instead. “How’s Lily?”
Dumbledore’s face saddened. “I don’t know, James. It’s hard to tell.”
“But can’t you do something, Dumbledore?”
“We have tried, but everything seam impossible.”
“But it was just a spell! I saw it!” James said, tears forming in his eyes.
“Lily has dealt with a lot of things lately. Her emotional state doesn’t improve the situation.”
James removed his glasses and put them back on the table. He dried his eyes and looked at Dumbledore.
“So this is all because of the wedding!” He said more to himself than the others.
“No.” Dumbledore said. “Lily has dealt with a lot of other stuff lately.” He turned to the three marauders. “Now, I may ask you to leave. James has things he need to be told under four eyes.”
They all shrugged and walked out the door. James looked as the door closed before he looked back at Dumbledore.
“James, there’s a thing you have to know about Lily…” He said and stopped, looking at James over his glasses.
James got very scared. What was possibly up with Lily she had not told him?

Dumbledore sighed. “James. The last two months Lily has worked on a special mission for the Order.”
“What?” James whispered, frowning.
“I have a hunch that we might have a spy among us, and I asked Lily to help us find out. She agreed, but I told her she couldn’t tell you.”
James sighed. “I knew something was wrong.”
“We have had regular meetings to see if we had gotten any further.” Dumbledore told. “It was a tuff mission, but Lily told me the hardest part was not to tell you.”
James shook his head slowly. “Why Lily? Why not Sirius or me or someone else?”
“She was the best choice. She has always been more ‘open-minded’ than you or Sirius and she’s better to get along with everyone. She has better qualities.”
“But why could she not tell me?” James asked; his head started to hurt of that information. “We usually tell each other everything.”
“I’m sad to tell you that I forbid her because you could easily have been the spy too.”
“Me? You got to be joking,” Jams half-laughed.
Dumbledore shook his head. “But Lily confirmed as the first one that you weren’t the spy.”
“Lily has studied me too?”
“Yes.”
“That thought is scary.” James mumbled.
Dumbledore nodded. “I assume you want to see her now?” He asked.
“Can I?” James asked back.
“Yes you can.”
James tried to push himself up, but his stomach hurt too much. He looked down and lifted the white shirt he was wearing. The wounds were big and purple. They were healing, but slow.
“They’re cursed scars, James.” Dumbledore said.
James nodded. “Yeah…” He said and avoided the gaze Dumbledore sent him. “I guessed.”
“I won’t ask how you got them,” Dumbledore said after some seconds. “So you don’t have to lie to me.”
“Thanks.” James said and still avoided Dumbledore’s gaze.
He slowly got up and out of bed. Dumbledore led him down the corridor and stopped in front of a door.
‘Serious Spell damages’ stood on the sign at the door. James slowly opened it and stepped inside.
In the ward was five beds out of which three was taken. Lily lay motionless in the bed at the window. James hurried over there and looked at her.
Her hair seamed like a fire on the pillow and her face was pale. Se had a single scratch on the left cheek and a black eye. Now that James was close at her, he could see that she looked tiered and outworn. He slowly stroked the cheek without the scratch. She looked so peaceful, like she was just sleeping. But James knew she weren’t; he’d know. He had spent more nights looking at her sleeping than he could count.
He grabbed her hand, it was cold as ice. A healer walked inside the room and made James turn around.
“I see you have woken up, Mr. Potter.” He said and smiled. “How are you?”
“Fine.” James quickly said. “How about Lily?”
“Miss Evans? She’s-”
“It’s Potter.”
“What?” The healer asked and looked up from his papers.
“We got married a week ago.” James said and looked sadly down at Lily. “She was so happy before they arrived.”
“Congratulations then. I’m sorry your wedding day was so brutal interrupted.”
“Never mind. How is she?” James asked again; the only thing that mattered now was how Lily was.
The healer sighed. “I don’t know. I have never seen anything like this. She shows every sign of being dead, but she isn’t. There’s something in her that keeps her alive. I don’t know what it is. But she refuses to die and refuses to wake up.”
“Why would she refuse to wake up?” James asked; the thought seamed stupid to him.
“It’s not deliberate. Only time will show if she wakes up or not.”
James sighed and sat down in a chair next to Lily. He grabbed her hand again and kissed it.
“Please Lily. Wake up.” He mumbled to her.

James was discharged from St. Mungo’s two days later, but he didn’t feel like going anywhere. Lily had still not showed any sign of waking up, and James could spend hours just sitting next to her and holding her hand.
Sirius had written to Tess and she arrived at St. Mungo’s the day after James had been discharged. James was sitting in a chair, holding Lily’s hand when the door opened. Tess rushed inside.
“Ohh!” She just said as she moved over next to James. “Lily!”
James didn’t say a word, just looked at Lily. She probably didn’t even know they were there. He sighed, wishing Lily would just wake up.
“James, how are you?” Tess asked. “Sirius said you were attacked too.”
“Yeah, but I’m fine.” James said quickly. “I just wish Lily would wake up.”
“Aw.” Tess said and gave James a hug. “I’m sure she will.”
“Me too.” James said over Tess’s shoulder. “Me too.”
“Wanna go get some coffee?”
“No. I want to stay here. I can’t leave her.”
“I understand.” Tess said and walked out.
James sat down and took hold of Lily’s hand.
“Why won’t you wake up?” He mumbled.
He didn’t know if it was actually a question to her or more to him. There weren’t anything more in the world he wanted than her to wake up. And yet she just lay still there, not moving. He lifted her cold hand and kissed it once, letting a tear fall from his eye plashing onto the hand and slowly moving over it and falling down to the floor.
“Please wake up Lily.” He whispered. “I don’t want to lose you…”
He slowly put her hand back onto the white bed and put his head in his hands, rubbing it out of helplessness and confusing. What could possible cause this?
“James…”
James looked up from his hand to Lily. She was not awake, but he could recognize her voice. It was her who had just spoken.
“Lily?”
And then without any sign at all, Lily began to scream. The scream sounded a thousand times worse than being under the cruciantus curse. Like a suffering, dying person.
“Lily!” James shouted and grabbed her hands.
She started to roll backwards and forwards in the hospital bed and James tried to hold her.
“Someone help!” He called.
Only five seconds after a healer stormed inside, he grabbed Lily’s hands on the other side of Lily and James let go of them. Lily didn’t stop moving and kept trying, even though they were holding her in a very firm grip.
“Lily!” James called.
He didn’t know why he did it, but he had to say something to her, even though she couldn’t hear him.
Then suddenly, Lily stopped screaming and sat straight up in the bed. James’s heart skipped a beat and Lily flung her arms around him.
“James…” She whispered.
“Lily…” He just said back.
Lily started to sob uncontrollable and James slowly stroked her hair, trying to calm both her and himself down.
“I’m so glad you’re awake again.” He whispered.
“I’m so glad you’re alive.” She said.
James broke away from Lily. She still had tears in her eyes, and he was sure he had too.
“Why shouldn’t I be?”
“It… It was just all a bad dream.” She whispered.
James stoked her hair slowly. “It’s okay. Everything’s fine.”
“I was so afraid I had lost you…” Lily sobbed into his shoulder.
“But you haven’t…”
“He had killed you… and I was left alone in this world, without you.”
“Don’t worry, Baby, don’t worry. That’ll never happen. He’ll never get that close.” James said.
He knew who Lily was talking about. He now understood that no one would ever be safe while this war was going on.
After some minutes with Lily sobbing by his shoulder and stroking her hair James slowly moved away from her.
“Then beside your dream… how are you?”
“Not good…” Lily said slowly. “James… I’ve lied to you. I’ve kept a secret from you which I can’t bear you don’t know about.”
“Don’t tell… Dumbledore put me in it all. I’m not mad. You did what you had to do.”
“But I kept secrets from you. James we’re married now, I should have told you.”
“No. You shouldn’t. You did as you were told and that’s the most important thing.”
James looked into Lily’s teary eyes. He slowly lifted his one hand and dried her cheek from tears. She smiled slightly, looking up at him.
“Thanks for not being mad.” She said silently.
James shook his head. “Why could I be mad?” He said. “You know as a married couple we forgive and forget small problems. Just like this one.”
Lily smiled a bit more. “Yeah… We’re married!” She exclaimed in a low voice.
“We are.” James said and kissed her quickly. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”

Lily and James left St. Mungo’s three days later. Lily was fine again, and James’s wounds had healed completely. They went through the fireplace and before James noticed, he had slid out on the floor in the living room. His mother was sitting in the couch, reading a newspaper. She smiled as she saw James and seconds after Lily.
“Hello. I was just wondering when you’d show up. How are you feeling, Lily?”
“Fine.” Lily said and smiled.
“Great.” She said. “James, I’m going to London this evening and probably won’t be home the next three days, if you need me. Is that okay?”
James nodded. “Sure. But why?”
“I have an old friend to visit. She’s not feeling well.”
“Okay.” James said and nodded. “We’ll do fine.”
“Good.” Helena smiled.
She left for London two hours later and left James and Lily alone.
“So, Mrs. Potter.” James grinned at Lily. “As husband and wife we should so something married couples do!”
Lily grinned at him “Yeah!” She said and then her smile faded a bit. “Umm… like what?”
James looked at her in a thinking way. “Err… Something… I don’t know.”
“We could play golf.” Lily said hesitating.
“What’s that?” James asked.
“It’s some sport lots of old couple plays where you have to hit to a little ball and get in a little hole with a golf club.” Lily explained.
“Sounds boring…”
“Well, it’s… I wouldn’t say bo-… yeah, it’s boring.” Lily said and shrugged.
Then both Lily and James let themselves dump down in the couch. James slowly began to hum and move his hands in steps to it. Lily looked up in the ceiling in a thinking way with her head tipping sideways, also like going through some music number in her head.
“We could go fishing.” James suggested after some minutes of doing nothing.
“That smells…” Lily just said and looked from the ceiling to the opposite wall, but didn’t stop tipping her head.
“Yeah, it does and there’s no action about that.” James said, also with eyes on the wall.
“We could go for a walk. I see loads of couples going around and holding hands.”
“We’ve done that in more than a year now, Lily, that’s not fun anymore.”
“Then we could just be ourselves and don’t think about doing things married people do?”
James nodded. “I like that idea…”
“We could go visit Sirius,” Lily suggested. “I’m sure he’d like to know how we are.”
“Yeah. Good idea,” James said and got up.
Lily took the hand he offered and together they disapparated to Sirius’ house.

Okay, I know I’m a long time about this, but as you can see around in the forum, I’ve been busy. … Anyway… One of me New Year’s resolutions is to post what’s coming as I’ve been thinking of this for weeks… Well, here it goes. There is no chapter in this post, just my writing. ‘Why?’ you may ask. Well, *deep sigh* I’m very sorry to say this, but I’m closing this down. There is no particular reason for it but tiredness of it. It just seams as if I’ve hit a dead end with this, and there is no more to write. Yes, I had planned things, but plans can be changed. And they are now… I’m sorry.
I really want to say thanks to all of you who’ve stuck with me form the beginning until now… and also (of course) to those who’ve caught up through the story. A special thanks to Lizzie (for writing in big letters when I make her mad and being there from the beginning to the very last), JSB 073 (for always being happy to see me update, and making me smile when I read her feedback!), Piglet (for being honest and leaving constructive feedback), x_kc_x (whose posts is helpful and always make me laugh and smile) and Layla (I’ve already told her this, but she was the one who inspired me to write this one with her You’ll Fall For Me)… I know there is a lot more, but this was just the top of the iceberg, and mostly based on the feedback for the last half of my story. Thanks to all of you! Without you all I wouldn’t have had kept going for so long. It was really great as totally new author on this site to get that lot of support I got in the beginning. Thanks again.
Errm… I don’t really know what more to say… I had really hoped to run this story to their death, but as said before; plans can be changed. I’m really sorry, but I hope you’ve all enjoyed this. At least I have.
Thanks for everything!
