After watching numerous adverts, theatrical trailers and so forth and such which, I have come to find that there is no sight of any veil! yes, i have seen the arch (possibly) but no long, wavy veil!?
What are your views?

I don't know... I was just looking at a picture (I just closed the page so I don't have the website) of Sirius and Harry in the Department of Mysteries and I think it was the veil in the background.... I could be wrong, but all I saw was what looked like see-through material (I could tell it was there 'cause it was bunched up a little, like it was moving in the wind) and one post, but Sirius and Harry were sitting behind something so it blocked the rest of it from view. I could be wrong, but that is what it looked like....

On each trailer I've seen there is the Huge archway, but no veil convering/behind it... I thought the veil portion was supposed to have some huge significance??

They better have the veil! They're going to regret in if it plays a big role in the 7th book. They have to have the veil. His death and the phrase "Just beyond the veil" like Luna said won't have any significance if it's not there. Maybe they didn't want to spoil it for people who don't read the books. His dreams and what's going to happen in the Ministry's supposed to be huge.

What?! No no no, don't you guys even consider there being no veil. They have to have a veil. It's how Sirius dies, and Sirius has to die with dignity. If they kill him differently or change it to Avada Kedavar, then i will-

Moon(I luv you Luna) Okay you are very close but they do have the veil you guys it's not exactly what I pictured it to be but they have it. So now worries there everyone but i think one like Moon here are going to be a bit disappointed.

Well, I couldn't believe it! It is sooooooo no how it is described in the book. Check the book description then check out the movie. I guarantee you'll be suprised!

yes i agree with gryffindorgirlie. the movie was nothing like the book. the ending was terrible and nothing at all like the book. there was no veil, no brain room, no spinning door room, no hall of time and sirius was stunned not killed by avada kadavra.

The movie was a great thriller but it was horrible

supposed to be blasted by Bellatrix into the vail laughing

Sirius's death was so messed up!
There was so much emphasis in the book on being able to hear voices behind the veil but not knowing what was there, that's where all the controversy came from after his death the "is he alive is he dead?" situation. ALSO, Belletrix was fighting Tonks when Sirius died, that's why afterwards Tonks gets depressed because she feels guilty that she should have stopped Bellatrix from killing Sirius!
And he didn't get killed by Avada Kedavra, that was just wrong wrong wrong!!
Nicely filmed though, with the sound going quiet and it being slow motion, very effective. Oh how the tears did flow!!!

On my opinion, the movies are terrible, except for the first two. They didn't follow ANYTHING in GoF, it's not even funny, that movie was just, ugh, OotP was ok, but it lead away in certain spots but it was more on track than GoF. The first two movies no one seems to like but, they followed the book EXACTLY, or as close as they possibly could, it was right on it in my opinion, they don't have to follow word by word in the books, but the events have to be the same or it will all be confusing!! Who was the director for SS/PS and CoS? I want him back!! For the 7th book, I don't care whether or not it's 10 hours long, I want them to follow EVERYTHING in the book, from them buying stuff and saying the littlest things up to or else!!! Every single line, every word, every touch, every move!! EVERYTHING!!!! Grr... it's gotta be right or I'll rip their throats!! Lol, I'm not that aggressive, but i'll be very very very very very very very very (etc.) mad if they don't!!!!!!!!!! That's what i think!

I think they should've made it more prodominate that it is a veil, but it definitely was one all the same. They made it look too much like an invisibility cloak was hanging there and waving about. I don't think it was terribly important, really. The mystery of it is already left in everyone's minds without really talking about it int he movie itself. Just like the book. We're all left wondering by ourselves. I didn't like how slowly Sirius died, but I didn't like that in the book, either. *shrug*

And I also think that you all aren't sticking to the topic very well. Most of you are just ranting about the movie and how it 'is nothing like the book'. Go rant somewhere your SUPPOSED to be ranting about it! I don't care if you rant on about how much you dislike something about the veil, but come ON....

I think it is important, cause it's THE veil ,the mistery. I didn't like how Sirius died either, cause it was like another thing that it was nothing to do with a veil-ish way to die. It was like the Greek miths pound of souls, when Sirius' soul soared slowly.

In OOTP the book it did say that Harry and Luna heard voices coming from the empty archway!! But the cloth was probably for dramatic effect. You know David Yates!!!
