I would have to agree that he is probably going to play the eleven-year-old Tom Riddle. He will be in only a very short (but very significant) part when Dumbledore visits Tom at the orphanage and Tom discovers he is a wizard - a very crucial role for the young actor to play. I will be anxious to see what the movie directors decide to include within the movie as far as Tom's previous discovery of his as-yet unexplainable ability (maybe they will show the cave when Tom is torturing the kids before DD and Harry visit).

Isn't it obvious? Think who is a new character in Hbp and who is young - its the young Voldemort in the orphanage!!!!!!

He looks too Weasley. They did announce casting for Tom Riddle, so I doubt that’s the part. They’ve would’ve let us know right away. Like when Luna Lovegood was cast. Why keep it a secret? This is probably some smaller role, which is bigger in Deely Heely. Hmmm- maybe it’s Fred... or young Dumbledore, or even Godric Gryffindor!

Why would they cast an eleven year-old for Fred, Godric or Dumbledore? There aren't any scenes in the Half-Blood Prince with any of the three in a younger form, and two of them have a very limited role in the book, and one of them will most probably be cut from the movie due to a certain cut that they made in the Goblet of Fire, including the chapters: 'The Scar', 'The Invitation', 'Back to the Burrow' and 'Weasley's Wizard Wheezes'.

Oh yeah, and Godric isn't even a character in the books at all. He's just used as reference, such as Merlin and Grindelwald.

I'm pretty sure that it's Tom Riddle he's going to play. Or one of the orphanage children???

And now someone else has been cast. I'm wondering if it's Amy and that other kid. . .the two that Tom Riddle kind of tortured in the cave when he was at the orphanage, do you remember? I can't remember thier names. Going to look it up. Yes, yes. . .Amy Benson and Dennis Bishop. I wonder if it's the two of them? Probably not, but I thought I'd hazard a guess.

The boy, Taylor, might be a young Tom Riddle, yes. But I'm thinking like passerby is, that he might be Dennis Bishop, and the girl that was just cast could be Amy Benson. *shrugs* could be a possibility!! Oh they might put them in that memory scene, you know at the orphanage, they might just be there, or something of the sort, if they even show us the memories!

I think that Taylor Triphook will be playing the young Tom Riddle and the girl they just cast will play Romalida Vane.

I too think that the two are playing young children in the orphanage, I think Taylor Triphook is most probably going to be a young Tom Riddle because the open casting was for the 16 year old Riddle, seeing as the age boundary wa 15 - 18, and the girl, I don't know her name..., is most likely going to be Amy Benson, or even just a random girl in the orphanage.



I've said this another thread in the HBP forum so I'm not going to go into detail, but I know that Romilda Vane has infact been cut from the movie entirely. Besides Romilda is... 15 I think? I think it said she was a fifth year, yeah so she's 15, so this girl can't be playing Romilda Vane, the girl was eleven wasn't she??

But as for Taylor Triphook, I agree with everyone else here, he's most probably going to be the eleven year old LV when DD goes to visit him.

At first I thought that both of the two young kids cast looked like Weasleys, but it didnt' really make any sense to me. I agree with Passerby and say that they will both play the little boy and girl that Tom Riddle takes to the cave.

Maybe they will be the 2 kids in the cave or Young Tom Riddle. Or the falshback. There are many options. I guess we'll have to wait and see!!
