We know this thread is just to reiterate the obvious, but very amusing nonetheless.
Just the other day, I discussed with some friends about who will die in the last book. One of them reminded us: "It's a children book! Nobody lovable by the children will die!" I am not saying I agree completely that Harry Potter is a children book, but I agree that Jo Rowling will NOT kill any lovable characters, because it will give trauma to children. Well, she might kill one of the less lovable ones, but definitely not the main ones. With that said, I am pretty confident that Ron and Hermione will survive and enjoy the fruit of Harry's hard work in these 7 years, namely peace after Voldemort is gone. It has to be long peace (including among these two).

muggleview, I hope you're right! I don't want to see these characters with who I've grown up with just...DIE! Specially the trio! My mom says JK Rowling is EVIL! because she wants to kill Harry and make everybody sad...and I was like "mom, she will not kill him just because she's bored! she has REASONS to do it!"

BUT THIS WHOLE THING IS AWFULLY OFF TOPIC!

I just wanted to say that we're so close to the end, and we'll finally know what will happen, specially with one of the things that intrigue us the most: Ron and Hermione... and if it DOES happen, which I'm sure it will, I'm happy to say I supported them from the start, even WAY before I supported HG...I'm sorry I'm just getting sentimental now the post Potter depression is beggining, and I haven't read the book yet!

I went back to the movie theater today, and I can now confirm what I said yesterday: They looked each other at the very end when they got into the train!!! but it's very very subtle!!!

Before the forum close for book 7, I just wanted to say that Ron and Hermione, however they are going to get together they will be a fantastic couple and I think that the bickering they had throughout the serie just make them a better couple (even if that's weird to say).

JKR worked so hard on the two of them that their journey together can't be other than to be fantasticaly romantic and funny and sweet and will last until death (please make them die OLD!!! and not, let's say... at 17 years old!!!).

I'm pretty sure that if the two of them survived, at the end, wich WILL happen (let's be hopefull), they are going to have red-headed children and they will live happily ever after!!! I'm doubtful that JKR make that kind of end though!!! But any way!!!

In the worst of cases, if one of them don't survived, at least, they will have been together until death take them appart... wich is sad, REALLY, but sweet... well, kind of...

For me, the worst-case sinario os that one of them die. It'd be sad if just one died. If they both did, at least they could be happy together in the after-life or where ever the heck they go.

I can't believe we're almost there ... how many years have i been waiting for this ending? Ever since i read PoA. I got the first three for cristmas before GoF came out. That was back when i shared a room with my sister, so a long time ago ...

But i'm sure Ron and/or hermione won't die. I dunno why, but they're main characters ... the amount of people who'd turn against JKR, golly goshly ... i have a feeling that the trio will survive. I'm happy as long as those 3 survive. Namely Ron and hermione, because after all this, they deserve a long and happy life together.

Yeah, that's true Moon(I luv you Luna), I can't believe all of that is almost over... We are finally going to know what happen with those two we have been sharing so much discussions about... I remember the one time I saw in the fourth book a chapter named ''The Yule Ball'' and I just thought: I really hope Hermione and Ron are going to get together in this chapter! Man, that's been a long time since this chapter and they are not together yet... I am so eager to finally find out what I was looking for for so much time! But at the same time I'm sad because I know it will come to an end... I'm thinking it's about time it's over but even though I think that I just don't want this to end! Ron and Hermione have been in our minds for so many years and in only a couple of days it's all gonna be over (well, kind of, for us)... finished... And not only Ron and Hermione but the Harry Potter's world too! No waiting for the next book anymore... Let me just say that it has been a heck of a journey!!! Wow, no more theories about Ron and Hermione... I wish them (even if they are not quite real ) a happy life together!!!

I'm here to post my love letter to this ship like, y'all have done. I'm not sure if I'll post again till after the book, I'm looking at a busy Thrusday and Friday.
I'm going to yell out like the rest of you: "RON AND/OR HERMIONE!!! DON'T DIE! Now that that's out of the way. I've found this ship interesting the moment I started caring about Harry Potter. Hermione and Ron have alwsy had a connection, the moment she first noticed him on the train wanting to teach him how to do spells correctly. They both saw something in the other they wanted to be, wanting the other to make up for what they lack. The road hasn't been easy. They took the slightest jibe straight to the heart because the aproval and understanding of the other was so imporant. Hermione, thinking Ron would never return her affections went out with Krum to try and get over him, but most (un)forunetly Ron figured out just how much he liked her that night. They put aside their feelings for a year, not being ready to ask for the other's affections and because of Harry's problems. Finally when Hermione was ready to lock things down, her past came back to haunt her and Ron and Lavender happened.
But now, it's differnt, there's nothing left to be said, the game has been played out, but neither has won. We are going to witness in less than 50 hours their coming together. It's been a hell of a ride that's now coming to an end...let's pray a happy end.

Ron/Hermione kiss. It will be in book 7. It must be there. Not an easy one. Jo has made it difficult. She made us wait until the very last book. Hopefully not the last chapter. Hopefully not a parting gift, but a start to a long and prosperous life together.

Yes I say it too! I think that Ron And Hermione shud get together in the last book and if they don't then i'm going 2 (literally)scream my head off !!!!I mean, when we've been waiting for so long and when there's been hints all the wayy throughout the books then there's absolutely no point of NOT putting their kiss in ! I am pretty confident it will be there. Jo must have had a good time seeing the two actors, Rupert and Emma, feeling uneasy in their interview about the prospect of kissing each other on screen. Not in book 6, so it must be in book 7, but how? I wonder whether as Harry/Ginny kiss in front of the whole Gryffindor, Ron and Hermione will kiss in front of many people. There will be multiple screams!

Ok I'm here to give my final last vote of confidence before tomorow night that Ron and Hermione are meant to be and they will get together in the last book!

I'm so excited about reading it on Saturday, and though I'm looking forward to finding out a lot of other stuff from the book I can't wait to see Hermione and Ron finally get together after six books worth of waiting.
And lets hope it is just six books, not like 6 and half or something because I hope they get together near the start ( that is assuming they get together ... which they will).



Aww. That would be cool ( and cute ). But I don't they're confident enough about their relationship to kiss in front of everyone. After all if they can't even admit it to themselves, I think the would find it difficult to let everyone know at once in this way. Not that anyone would be particularly surprised. I think just about everyone apart from them has worked it out by now. I just hope they come to their senses ... and soon.

Maybe Harry will do to Ron what Hermione did to him when he fancied Cho. Some thing like :

Harry spots Ron and Hermione looking at each other in 'that way'.
Harry : 'So what's going on with you and Hermione. I saw the way you were looking at each other.
Ron : Wh - what you talking about?
Harry : Oh don't try to kid me on. Just tell her how you feel.
Ron : You think?
After several nods from Harry he goes off to tell Hermione how he feels and Harry enters whichever room they are in a while later to find them kissing !!

from the first time they saw each other and she pointed the dirt on his nose, then to the "it's levi-oh-sah" not "levio-saaah" or whatever! to throwing up slugs and the awkward handshake, Scabbers/Crookshanks rows, taking his hand, feeling uncomfortable when she hugs him, turning to him instead of Harry when Buckbeak is killed, showing off just like Malfoy did with Pansy, the whole Viktor Krum problem, smashing the Krum toy, and of course the Yule Brawl! THE RHr moment! Staying together all summer, kissing him "good luck!", flirting in the common room, worrying Grawp will hurt her and getting jealous he's her admirer, feeling bad because the Slytherins sing songs about him and happy because the Gryffindors change the lyrics! Exchange of looks and smiles and blushing, snogging Lavender just to get jer jealous, asking him to Slughorn's party, smelling something in the Amortentia that reminded her of him, going with McLaggen to the party, fighting and not talking to each other, and her "helping hand", and his "I love you", and she visiting him in the Hospital Wing, and "er-my-knee", and him conforting her and stroking her hair....and to so many things more I might have forgotten... it will finally be in a few hours... it's been an amazing journey and I'm happy and sad at the same time.... RHR for EVER

Ron/hermione will definitely happen as JK has no other choice! really, she doesn't. but I am interested in finding out how she will do it? It could be like the harry/ginny kiss or cho/harry but I definitely don't want it to be a parting kiss. THey belong together--- forever!!
and speaking of kissing in the movie, it has been confirmed that emma and rupert as hermione and ron will kiss in the 6th film! isn't that crazy?

Confirmed! What do you mean Confirmed PurpleForge? This kiss is much anticipated (assuming there will be one in DH/ which there will ) it can't be in the 6th movie. Or do you mean confirmed from that interview, because personally I think that was the interviewer's mistake and Emma/Rupert thought they meant DH.

Man, only ONE DAY left practically. I'm like everyone else: excited, but completely depressed that it's all gonna end . I just hope neither dies, but I have a feeling one of them (probably not both, too cruel) will. JKR said that two die that weren't intended, but many more do as well. So that kinda sucks, but lets hope they are all DE .

It will be great if they get together in the beginning of DH because then we'd be able to see lots of R/Hr moments. It will be horrible if they do the kiss then die thing. But anyway (this would be good), if Harry were in a room, equipped with his Invisibility Cloak, then he hears them coming but doesn't leave. He could stand in the corner hiding under his IC and watch their first moments happen lol. Harry has to somehow see it happen cause WE NEED to see it not have it told, I don't want it to just be like:
Ron: Something happened today.
Harry: What?
Ron: I kissed Hermione!

I can't wait! It is 1 1/2 Days TILL DH!

If I'm not mistaken, the interviewer deliberately tried to give each of them the impression that the other person is willing to do the kissing. However, it seems that Rupert and Emma have known each other well enough (that both are awkward in kissing each other), so they basically didn't take it as real. I believe, if it's true in the book 7, R/Hr kiss will be in movie 7.

I got the feeling that there won't be any clear statement in front of Harry. They don't have to do that anyway. Harry has seen the two getting closer and he didn't mind with that. The two are shy in front of others, so they must have talked between themselves without Harry or others. What we will see, I think, is that Ron and Hermione will behave more and more natural to each other, as if they have been together for a long time, and then something intense will happen that they have to kiss each other! "Have to" as in "Now or never". I wish it's in the beginning (like in the wedding of Bill & Fleur, if that really happens in book 7), not at the end.

One more day. And we will read about it. I am pretty confident we will.

PurpleForge ...it was CONFIRMED? where?! OH MY GOD! this is HUGE! why would they change the kiss...although...I have this theory that they kissed during the burial, but Harry didn't see them... maybe, who knows...

Oh the anticipation is killing me!!!!! I wanted to post one last time in this ship before the book....... R/Hr is my favorite ship...closely followed by H/G of course!!! I really hope they get together at the begining of the book so we can see them have a relationship!!! I would absolutely bawl my eyes out if they had one kiss then died!!! That would be sooooooooooo aweful !!!! But I'l probably end up bawling my eyes out anyway...since one of my favorite characters will more than likely die... and it's the end of the series... but that's off topic!!!! Ron and Hermione deserve to be together!!! After almost seven years of bickering and flirting they deserve to come clean about their feelings for eachother!!!!! I have confidence that JKR will not let us down with this last book!! I know that they will be together..... and even if it's just for a short amount of time... I will be happy with the outcome of it!!!

Just goes to show how much R/Hr really is in the books, but there's so much more than that. Subtle things-like in GoF, after they read Rita's article about Hermione suposedly two-timing Harry, Hermione turned red, Ron was grinding the desk insted of potions ingredients because he was so busy trying to figure out if hermione said yes to visiting Krum over the sumer.

That's why i love R/Hr-they can be subtle, yet obvious at the same time.

Yep, pretty much the best book I've ever read. Not just because of all the R/Hr-ness in it, but because there were so many twists and I enjoyed reading it like no other book.
