Who agrees with me that Voldemorts clothing looks like a priests?? Especially with that high collar of his! Or maybe a Chinese karate instructor.

It doesn't look appropriate. I liked his flowy, veily black robes he had on in GOF when we first saw him. He looked great, really Voldemort-style.

Hey-- you know, you're right, his clothes do look like a priest's. Also, I think I might have missed that part of the movie in the books, did anyone else read about Voldy breathing fire?

I didn't really mind his clothing it looked fine to me. I didn't think he looked like a priest at all!
In the film he did sort of breath fire but not really. In the book it said he conjured a firey serpent/snake and if you looked close enough, the fire was in the shape of a snake.

Do you really expect him to run around in jeans and a t-shirt? No .. he's Voldomort. He has to be like that. I don't think they look like a priests clothing at all. It's a cloak. Dumbledore wears ... odd clothing too.
I liked that he was wearing a suit at the train station in the hallucination thing that Harry has. I thought that was a cool little add-in right there!

Couldn't agree more.
All the best, not to mention smartest, bad guys have worn nice clothes. Besides, cleaning up good takes emphasis off not having a nose.

I think the fact that Harry saw Voldemort in muggle attire at Platform 9 3/4 was great! It didn't strike me as clerical at all, just a very expensive looking suit. I found it frightening, thinking that LV was infiltrating the muggle world, no one passing noticed that he looked abnormal, that he could easily blend in and work his evil as he pleased. I thought the little shift he did with his head was spooky, especially when Harry repeated the motion a couple of times later in the film. A good was to represent how LV was "spying" on what Harry was doing and trying to take him over.

I think Voldemort could have looked soooo much more intimidating and scary if he would have been wearing a hooded cloak, and didn't have that cloak with that high collar. But the cloak needed to be a lot looser the way it was in GoF, but oh well its just a cloak.

I think whatever Voldermort wears he will look freaky, mainly due to the head, teeth and lack of nose.
even in a suit he looks totally evil and, snakelike and unhuman, the effects are brilliant

Yeah the priest outfit was a bit corny and everything but like Felipe_Black said, he'll look like the creepy Voldemort he is. And I must agree, him wearing a suit was really freaky!!! He's always wearing black! Haha. I was so confused when I saw him wearing a suit in the trailers, I was like why is he waiting for Harry before he gets to Hogwarts? And why is no one noticing that He is there?
Haha. I did like the cloak he wore in GoF, but no matter what he wears he's still Voldy.
And about the fire thing, maybe he didn't exactly breathe out fire in the book, but it was still well done and made him more terrifying, like Cobra said, it looked as though it was the shape of a snake, unless I was totally hallucinating!

Well to me all that matters is that Voldemort is scary! Atleast hes wear a black cloak, It would be wierd if he was wearing a different colour. And i agree with hermione rox about what ever he wears hes still Voldemort! And also mabey thats the kinda cloak that the actor wanted, that could be the reason to. But who knows!

You know i never really noticed but voldemort does have
a priest look going on If he wore like a freaky hooded cloak
he would look sooo much more well less preist like
i think there going for a dracula thing with the collar just making
it bigger and bigger untill it shades if from the light
I liked it in GoF all loose and scary

Personally, I think LV was at his most frightening in that suit on Platform 9 3/4! It sort of said, "I can walk among you if I so choose...there is no escape." It looked almost lawyerly...and it doesn't get much more evil than that...

Apriori, I totally agree with you! I was most freaked out when he was wearing that business suit because it just.. scared me for some reason.

It was unexplainable. But it WOULD be a really weird image if he was battling Harry and Dumbledore in a business suit. Funny image, but no thanks.
Yeah, that high black collar priest thing totally didn't match the "i'm so scary, bow down" image. The black robes, like everybody is saying, looks much better, especially when dueling/killing other wizards.

Umm, does everyone really think Voldemort would wear CHEAP looking suits now that he's been up and about everywhere now? Of course not. He's Lord Voldemort. Expect him to go shopping at Armani and not Madam Malkin's.

I toally agree with you...I liked the suit.

Personally I think that there is nothing wrong with the clothes that he wore in the movie. I don't really thing they're very 'priest-like', preists wear white collars anyway. Every wizard has their own unique style it seems (look how Dumbledore dresses), so you can't really expect him to dress like any ordinary wizard. He is Lord Voldemort after all...
I agree the platform scene was rather creepy...

I actually really liked the scene at Platform 9 3/4! I thought it was really cool. And I liked how they had Ralph Fiennes in a suit ... it made him creepier, I think. Haha it was great. I don't think it deserves any critisism.

I didn't like the fact that Voldemort was at the train station waiting for Harry, but I must say it was some nice thing! A nice shot, and really creepy! (I just don't like when they make up things in the movies!)
Anyway, his outfit was great! He looked handsome and like an evil man, he's got style! That scene was simply great!

Hahaha! Great comment!
Now, about the one in the link, he doesn't hit me like a priest, the robes look like Snape's, a high neck, very gloomy, just like him. It kind of looks like a Chinese neck.
Of course, his robes in GoF were awesome because they blended in well with the whole smoke effect.
Still, he's very well dressed. I'd just put a paper bag in his head to fall for him! Really attractive! Hahaha!

I knew there was something not right with Voldy in ootp but I just couldn't figure out what it was! You're right; his clothes looked all wierd and heavy... I liked the robe he wore in gof. Flowing... like a spirit or something
But he doesn't look like a priest... Voldy could never ever look like a priest. Well, maybe if he had a white collar...
Oh the suit scene.... omg omg... he looks so powerful wearing that... freaks me out!
The hooded cloak idea is great! He's wearing hooded cloaks in the books all the time, so why can't he have one in the movie?

I haven't seen the movie yet so I can't really reply to this very well. All that I can really say is I do not care at all. Does it really matter what he's dressed like? He could be wearing a little black dress and I wouldn't care. Again, it doesn't matter. And what is the big deal with the robes in the Goblet of Fire?

I think the priest one suited him well..it wasnt like priest actually, more like black robes that magnified his evil. But the suit was like incredulous! I was like, there is voldemort, and he is wearing a suit!!! hehe. It was really wierd and not necessary.

I thought that Voldemort looked kind of weird in the business suit. At first I was shocked because since Voldemort hates muggles why would he be in their clothing instead of the traditional wizard robes. He looked better in the lightweight robe he wore in GoF, and he also looked eviller.

Hahaha... that was funny!
I actually think he was really funny on the train station... Voldie in a suit, who would think...

) lol!
But, yea, kinda terrifying, too, being right there and all...
I think that the clothes he wore did fit him... Didn't his arms looked kinda thin at the end, though... like in a really old man... which he is...
