I think she'd be a good Parvati, even though she's not British.
Any thoughts?

*bangs head on keyboard* Not that I'd get anywhere if I tried out for Parvati or anything.....lol. I think she would be a good Parvati. I'm basically fine with anyone playing her just as long as they don't get like one of those little girls from Desi films to play her. Like the one in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.....*shudder*

*falls on her butt*
EH??? ANOTHER DESI PERSON??
That girl is SOOO annoying. It was a good movie and all, but she looked like a fatter, tanner version of me without glasses. Which is why she bothered me so much. I wonder what happened to her now....
Naz
May 15 2004, 04:51 AM

*nod nod* Grr.....Shahrukh is kind of hot for a 45 year-old guy.
Eh, watch her be one of those little kids in Bend it like Beckham. They would work.
Naz
May 15 2004, 11:03 PM

Naz
May 17 2004, 01:04 AM
i dont really care that much who they pick as parvati. i just hope that whoever they picked is good.
NastyShort
May 17 2004, 02:14 AM
Yesh yesh, she better be good. Or else I might be tempted to lunge at the screen and attack her.
PrettynPink8004
May 17 2004, 09:24 PM

Did anyone see Parvati in POA? Wasn't she the one who made the boggart turn into a snake then a jack-in-the-box???
Matthew
Jun 22 2004, 12:20 AM
Yeah, that would be her. That was an awesome scene!
Ceres
Jun 22 2004, 01:28 AM
Yes...that Jack in the box was scarier than the snake...
But in the book... wasn't Parvati's boggart a mummy? Or am I confusing her with Lavander? *checks her book* Yup, Parvati's was a mummy!
NastyShort
Jun 22 2004, 03:45 PM
The theory was that Cuaron never read the books.
*blinks* Parvati looked like my friend. In a much paler form......*narg* I felt like crying when I heard "Parvati, it's your turn."
Because now, it would just be STUPID to change Parvati, and all the other girlies hopes and dreams have been crushed!
PrettynPink8004
Jun 22 2004, 04:55 PM
Yeah, i totally know what you mean. But Matthew is right, that was an awsome scene. It was one of my favorites.
Naz
Jun 22 2004, 10:49 PM
i loved it too. especially when snape was wearing the dress. that was good
PrettynPink8004
Jun 23 2004, 02:58 AM
my favorite part in that scene was when Lupin turned on the music. i liked the music he turned on. But my favorite part in the movie? when the twins gave harry the mauraders map.
Naz
Jun 23 2004, 05:39 PM
i liked the part where they were in hogsmeade and harry was wearing the invisibility cloak. that was hilarious
PrettynPink8004
Jun 27 2004, 05:59 AM
yeah that was so funny.
Naz
Jun 27 2004, 06:00 PM
lol, yeh i wish that they left the part in when draco sees harry's "floating head"
PrettynPink8004
Jun 29 2004, 02:16 AM
yeah, they left out alot of things that were in the book. Like pig. they didn't put him in there.

hermioneweasley
Jun 29 2004, 07:59 PM
No, i meant, is Mischa indian? Did she audition yet? I wonder if they chose anyone yet.
PrettynPink8004
Jun 30 2004, 04:47 AM

Mischa was South American I think.....she wasn't Indian but she looked Indian.

Jun 30 2004, 04:24 PM
Okay, Kool. She did look Indian. I wonder why they held auditions if they already had a Parvati. Does anyone know?
NastyShort
Jun 30 2004, 10:04 PM
No, we don't know. Probably a director change. Maybe Cuaron took a fancy to this little girl walking around with her mummy in a sari store. The casting director for GoF probably didn't know that PoA already had a Parvati.
PrettynPink8004
Jul 1 2004, 01:42 AM
lol, yeah, true. She did look kind of young.

Jul 1 2004, 07:13 PM
Wow. Scary thing is she's just like i imagined her. lol

Jul 8 2004, 07:20 PM
I wish i could be Parvati. I am indian. oh and hey i loved kuch kuch hota hai! it was my fav indian movie, wats wrong with rani or kajol. they are soo cool..lol

if only i was British. boo hoo
HarryPotterFanatic
Jul 8 2004, 07:21 PM
yea i thought the 2 indian girls in POA were Parvati and padma.
Catch_22
Jul 8 2004, 08:03 PM
So they had to find TWIN indian girls. interesting. oh oh and living in britian too. forgot about that minor detail. this ought to be interesting...
NastyShort
Jul 8 2004, 11:28 PM
But the girls weren't twins....were they? They didn't look identical to me. And Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was a good movie......Kajol ish kind of getting old now. I thought she was really annoying in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum. Actually I pretty much hated that movie, except for Kareena Kapoor because she was pretty funny.
HA! They should have used the girl who played mini-Kareena to be Parvati.
yeh!! they should have!! i didnt like kareena that much (poo? what kind of a nickname is that?) and yeh i think that indian girls all pretty much almost looks the same... i look like everyone i know... :?

Jul 13 2004, 11:13 PM
That's got to be disapointing for Parvati in Poa...
So yeah... hope you had fun but we're re-casting you....
NastyShort
Jul 14 2004, 03:29 PM
Lol, that's good. Her parents will probably file a lawsuit or something if Cuaron didn't tell her that they were going to re-cast her.
Naz
Jul 14 2004, 06:14 PM
so no one knows who is going to play her and padma in gof?
ashleigh07
Jul 24 2004, 12:14 PM
Yeah I was wondering why they were having auditions for the twins when they had already been cast in POA.
My guess is that the girls that played them in POA can't do it for GoF.
Does anyone know for sure why they're recasting??
I thought the girls they picked in POA were pretty close to what I imagined Parvati and Padma to look like.
DancingVeela - Hahahahaha, good one!!
HarryPotterFanatic - I *so* know what you mean, mate!! I'm Chinese and if only I was British, then I could have auditioned for the part of Cho Chang!!
