Everyone in the movie, when Cornelius Fudge and Albus Dumbledore are speaking together in the Court Hearing, dumbledore says: "The Dark Lord's return is incontrevertible(or something like that) LOL!! He just said Dark Lord, remember Harry Potter saying anyone who says Dark Lord is a death eater. Holy cow, what a big screw up the movie made

Dumbledore has called Voldemort "The Dark Lord" in the books before, I am sure. It says nothing to prove that Dumbledore is a Death Eater at all. The movie was not rushed... it was just good sounding... "The Evidence that the Dark Lord has returned is incontravertible" sounds much better than "The Evidence that Voldemort has returned is incontravertible"
I am going look for instances in the book where Dumbledore says "Dark Lord".

I agree with Tom. Not only does Dumbledore say "the Dark Lord" in the books, but if you go through you'll find Snape and Lupin...among others...that say that same phrase. Its not a mess up. That is also assuming Snape isn't a Death Eater. Trelawney also says it in the prophecy...even without being able to control herself, she still said it. There are good characters who have said "the dark lord".

thats really sad, the diresctor should read the books better, before making the script.

lol, I never noticed that! +resovles to watch more closely+ lol OH NO Dumbledores really a secret DE! +faints+
Do the directors actually read the books before making the script? There have been alot of slip-ups in bits of the movies like that sorta thing. Makes you think though.

Lol! What a slip up. Though one good story line if he turned out to be a deatheater. Although I'm sure it doesn't make much difference. Like some of you have said, other good people have said 'The Dark Lord' before as well.

Exactly. I think that the term "Dark Lord" is just another way to say Voldythingy. I mean come on, sure Harry said that calling him the Dark Lord was like being in allegiance for him (not sure i remember that actually), but he was a child when he said that! and in all defense, children say a lot of things that they believe is true, without really thinking it through.

Ooh, I never noticed that. I guess they
did rush it a little, but still... I think 'good' people called him the Dark Lord quite a few times (I mean- in the books too!)

Confusing. Well, it's interesting!
Well Dumbledore doesnt have fear for Voldermort so it really doesnt matter what he calls him whenever he wants to. Its just that calling him the Dark Lord sounded better.
And about the movie being rushed. I would partially agree with that coz many good things were cut out from the movie, they just wanted to keep the "important" parts in. not even getting dobby when he plays such an important role in the forthcoming series.
Lord of the Rings was not cut short from its book and it was loved by all the same.

Not only Death Eaters are allowed to say the "Dark Lord", many good characters say it. ONe instance I can remember is Ginny's Weasley's singing Valentine to Harry in COS... the dwarf sings "The hero who conquered the dark lord"
SO it is not exclusive to DE's

Now this is a pointless discussion - if you've even read the books, you'll know that loads of people say 'the Dark Lord' - and like everyone else is saying, it isn't a slip up.
I can understand if someone hasn't read the books and they think DD is a death eater, not for the reason he says Dark Lord, but because he's just so sharp and rough sometimes, but in response to the Dark Lord thing, I think it's pretty self-explanatory.

That's true. Didn't someone of the trio said that once too?
