I am well aware that it is just impossible to squeeze a six-hundred-page book into a two-hour movie and cuts are simply a necessity. I agree here with
tonks&lunalvr that the directors could do without the elves so far, as I think, and now let us face the truth, the elves have not been the most important driving forces of the story.
My relation to the house elves is highly positive and I think they are such lovely creatures. By their portrayal the last two films would have certainly done justice to them and to the variety of the wizarding universe in general. By leaving them out from the movies the world of Harry Potter becomes rather flat with witches and wizards as nearly the only magical creatures inhabiting it. Which is of course a rather one-dimensional perception. House elves just contribute to the diversity and complexity of Harry Potter world.
I am pretty sure that in the last two movies the directors won't be able to do without the elves. And I wouldn't be even as skeptical about it as
lancelot243 when you say that

I just don't see how they are just going to randomly throw them back in after ignoring them for so long.
I don't think it will be that difficult to introduce them in the movies as both of them, Kreacher and Dobby, have already appeared in the previous movies so they will just
reappear when the need for their actions comes. And I am so much looking forward to that moment.
