I'm back here, too.
Harry'sSister100, exactly. Stately beautifully, hon.
Speaking of their first kiss, Fronts, I keep picturing it in my mind. I just hope it lives up to our expections. Because to Harry Ginny isn't some girl, but the girl. The love of his life, and all those terms that you can wax poetry about. Harry is an icon for out genaration, the first kiss with his future wife should be iconic as well.

you're right Ellen, they should make it amazing! Cho and Harry was!...kinda...

But Harry and Ginny's should be better! LOL! I'm so looking forward to it, it should make people go *gasp* and *aww* and *yay* and everything at the same time!

I find it funny that Harry and Ginny kiss in such a public place. I mean, obviously Harry didn't mean to (Snap decision, anyone?) but reeeeeeally ... i can imagine any announcement (Engagement, babies ... Etc.) being made publically (Without meaning t, of course).

Me too and total off guard...he hadn't been planning it at all it just happened...!

I can picture it too! Like everyone would be like "
WHAT?" and they'd be like "whoops!"
Aww I can't wait for HBP and all the HG moments!
Ooh, I just saw a video of that Disney Channel show "The Replacements" and Bonnie Wright does a voice-over there...wow her voice is so beautiful! I hope we get to see that in HBP!

Really, Cristi? My sister loves that show (I don't particuarly). I'll have to look out for that ...
I've just realized that HG is rather like one of my favourite ships on my favourite soap, "Shortland Street". It's a NZ medical soap drama, but i love it.
Anywho, my favourite ship on it is Scotti/Shanti. Shanti basically liked Scotty for ... ages (coughGinnycough) and Scotti was oblivious up until ... some point (coughHarrycough) and then Scotti was all like "She's my employee, can't date her!" but gave in, in the end. Like they all do. And hey-Harry gave in, in the end (coughspontaniouskisscough).
How'a that for relating stuff to HG?

Moon, do you need a cough drop? If your cough gets worse, you might want to go to the doctor. You never know, maybe you have bronchitis.
As for Harry and Ginny, your comment about the stinksap and the train was veeeery subtle. Way to spot that one.

I totally agree! I mean reading that scene of the kiss was one of the most intense, spontaneous and totally romantic things I've ever read. and You're right she's not just any girl to Harry she's THE girl! *sighs*
Anyways to comment on
Moon(I luv you Luna) statement on why Harry & Ginny kissed in a public place I think its perfect, otherwise they might not have told Ron right away and that would have caused complications. lol

And also I think it shows how much Harry was totally in love with Ginny because Harry is usually a private person (at least he tries lol) and well the fact that he just
had to kiss Ginny right there, in front of all those people! *sighs*

Miss_Mimz, welcome! Come on in, we don't bite (much. Though Cristi might get a bit snippy when she's on a HGHGHGHGHGHG
forever! high (lol, i kid, i kid).

PS. Call me Moon. Easier to type.
Your right, ATB i will need those cough drops ...
I think it's good Harry wanted to avoid the "Over-protected-brother" incident. He saw what Ron was like with Dean, and obviously didn't want to be on the receiving end of it ... he really cares what his friends think! Aw. To be honest, there's not enough Harry.Ron friendship moments in the books.
But i'm suprised Ron took it so well. He obviously didn't see it coming (coughemotionalrangeofateaspooncough) but accepted it all the same. He wanted ihs sister to be happy and hello, Harry right there!

HGHGHGHGHGHGHHGHGHGHG FOREVER
aaaand is out of my system! Yeah don't worry, we don't bite!
I thought Ron wouldn't take it so well like he did, I thought he would be like "can't believe you did that, you're my friend, she's my sister..." but he wasn't...awww! But he was a bit overprotective still...
QUOTE
"Watch it," he said, pointing warningly at Harry and Ginny. "Just because I've given my permission doesn't mean I can't withdraw it –"
"Your permission," scoffed Ginny. "Since when did you give me permission to do anything? Anyway, you said yourself you'd rather it was Harry than Michael or Dean."
"Yeah, I would," said Ron grudgingly. "And just as long as you don't start snogging each other in public –"
There's not enough Harry/Ron friendship moments anywhere!

but we know it is a great friendship that anyone would love to have, Harry-Ron-Hermione that is

Wow! It has been forever! I just can't keep up with all of you!
I really liked the fact that Harry and Ginny's kiss was public, because it was totally opposite of what Harry is usually like with his personal life (which is secretive, well, except that Hermione usually figures it out!), and it just made the kiss that more exciting.
I also love the over protective brother parts that Ron adds to their relationship, because I could totally see my older brothers being the same way, and it adds a little light hearted fun to the whole story line.
Moon(I luv you Luna)

I love the whole "Just because I've given my permission doesn't mean I can't withdraw it" quote. It's typical Ron. I am so writing a Harry.Ron friendship fic.

Well i don't exactly have an older brother, but i'm an older sister. And trust me, any boyfriend of
my sister would get an earful from me. The Weasley brother-protection just add's to the believbility, because it's something most people can relate to. It's those things that makes HP so great.

It's true, the whole problem with Ron makes Harry/Ginny more believable, because it is in an older (and sometimes even younger!!) brother or sister to feel protective and jealous and not ok with it...
For the Friends' fans, hint Ross's reaction to Chandler/Monica!
But I think even Ron wanted Ginny to be with Harry, remember during Ootp at the end when he says something like "pick a better one next time" (I know, maybe that has nothing to do with what it really says, but my Ootp book is far away from me!) and he glances at Harry? I think that's pretty sweet, trusting your friend with your little sister...

"Get off my sister!!" Love Friends, so much. But I've always thought of Ginny and Harry being more like Ross and Rachel, only the boy/girl roles are reversed. Because Ginny liked Harry forever, and Ross liked Rachel. You get it.
I think Ron was more werided out by Harry and Ginny, verse seeing it as a betrayl. He's cool with them dating, so as long as they don't kiss in fornt of him.
Welcome Miss_Mimz, we're always happy to see new people, get some new blood and a new view point.

Yeah, i agree, Ellen. Ron didn't see it much of a betrayal (no matter what Harry thought) but mroe of a shock. I can see him going "Please, do you
have to do that in front of us?!" a lot. Lol, go Ron. He rocks.

Ron rocks my socks! I think we all *heart* Ron, he's pretty easy to.
But I can see Ron being really happy for both Harry and Ginny in the future. I could see him crying at their wedding, and trying so hard to hind it. I can see Hermione asking "are you crying?!" He's answer with an angry "No!" But Hermione will know, and not tell anyone.

It was hilarious Moon, and when Rachel and Phoebe were trying to distract him by acting all excited for no reason and Ross just joins the celebration...

LOL!!!
and I too think Ron was just shocked during HBP...but remember when he walked into Ginny and Harry snogging in DH? There goes the amazing big brother reaction...and after that at the tent, I think it was before he left that he tells Harry he doesn't care about Ginny or something like that...
Oh, and I can so picture him being all "I have something in my eye"
yeah right... Ellen!
I love Ron

Yeah, deep down, we all love Ron. You know you do. Lol.
That would be rather funny, Ellen. I can so imagine that. Good old brotherly love.
Question: What kind of relationship do we think Harry and Ginny have with their kids? It's been a question bugging me for ages, and i decided to ask it. I always imagine that they would smother their kids in love (like i've said before-not so much that they die, as that would be rather depressing-killed by love) but i can see Ginny getting tempermental if they were being naughty. Lol.

That's exactly how I feel Moon. I can imagine Harry being a great Dad, very kind and caring, because he never really had a family, and he wants his children to have a childhood filled with love. Ginny would definetly be the disciplinary head of the house. If the kids do something bad, Harry would probably let them off the hook and say "Don't tell your mother", like Mr. Weasley, and Ginny would be more like Mrs. Weasley and would get very heated!
cristipotter
Nov 9 2007, 12:30 AM
pottergrl, I couldn't agree more! that's exactly how I picture it, Harry being the fun parent and Ginny being the disciplinary head...but of course both would be really responsable and caring for their children, and they would tickle them until they laugh so hard they cry (not because it hurts or anything...when I laugh too hard, my eyes just flood with tears!) and they'd both be amazing parents, I think!
Wow, we were talking so much about Ron I was starting to mistake this forum for the RHr one!

Nov 17 2007, 02:08 AM
Oh Harry and Ginny as parents, its so great! Harry would definetely be like James or Sirius when it comes to parenting, meaning he cares more about having fun with his kids, but also making sure that they know that he loves and cares about them.
So, I asked this in the R/Hr forum, but it seems like we've run out of topics...What H/G scene are you looking forward to the most in HBP?
Amyrat151
Nov 17 2007, 03:32 AM
I think that Ginny would have to become more of the disciplinary head, because Harry would be more lack, because I think part of him would have the childhood he never had with his kids.
I wonder why JK had them have 3 kids, while Ron and Hermione had 2.

to be honest, i've sort of forgotten about harry/ginny in halfbloodprince, with all the lavender/ron uproar and excitement right now!
i can't believe myself! its weird though, because you'd think that harry/ginny would be a bigger topic and excitemtn causer what with their kiss and hookup
anyone else find that interesting?
but then again, i guess ron/lavender is causing more excitemetn because its bringing in a new actor
but now that i think about it, i can't wait for the whole harry and ginnny thing!
i think that ron//lavender will be more comic relief in the mist of all the harry/ginny drama

I reakon Hermione's sensible-ness came out at that point. She probably went all "two kids is enough" and Ron was like ... "Yeah, sure ..." (i reakon he sercretly wants more)(I love speculating about fintioncal characters) And Harry and Ginny had 3 because ... Harry never had sibblings, never had parents, never had ... much at all. So he wanted to have more. He always struck me as the person who'd want lot's.

I agree with Moon..! I always pictured Harry as having a big family...3 is not
that big (I have 2 siblings and I often feel quiet lonely...) but it is more than Ron and Hermione.
I can't wait for HBP (I write that in every post I make, don't I?

Yeah, I would have expected Harry and Ginny to have at least four kids, especially since Harry didn't really have a family, and Ginny comes from a huge family. But three is still a pretty good size. I wasn't too surprised that Ron and Hermione only had two kids.
I know, crisitpotter, I am so excited for HBP

! I can't wait to get pictures! I'm driving my friend nuts because I keep talking about how excited I am!

Yeah I saw Harry and Ginny having like 5 kids or something, because he had no family growing up, expect for when he was one. But maybe he has three because that's how many JK Rowling has. 2 makes sense for Ron and Hermione, because I really see Hermione being really into her career. But I said, pre-DH, that I liked that idea of them having 4ish kids and Ron being a stay at home Dad.
Yes, Cristi can't wait! But you know what helps from dewelling on the huge time grap between her and HBP is finding something else, along with Harry Potter.

Ron? A Stay at home dad? I can honestly see that ... goodness, those children are in for a Quidditch-driven, lolly-eating ride.
I can't wait for HBP either. I really hope it'll be good, not only because it's where HG action is, of course, but where lot'd of action is. Many things take a different turn, and well ... my thing to focus on is the book series "The Confessions of Georgia Nicolson". (It's super funny-i'd recomned it to anyone, really).

i feel that harry/ginny excitement for hp6 is dying down so much! which is sad, seeing that its prob the biggest hookup in the book, or the series, i think!
it feels like all the other ships have taken over this one, when really its a huge one!
anyways.. that was a bit of my ranting, sad, i know
i have a topic... anyone have any ideas on how they'll show harry's internal battles with ginny being rons sister/ he doesn't care/ ron will hit him?
seeing that these were all in thought in hp6, not in words, i'm curious to know how'll this will be shown in the movie.. i hope they do it well, its really comical!

Well, since Harry is not having dreams with Voldy anymore...maybe through a dream? Like...he is getting closer to kiss Ginny and suddenly Ron's there and
BAM he wakes up... well, it's just a thought out of the top of my head. Maybe some mumbling and talking to himself and stuff...like "Ron's sister, she's Ron's sister!"
Well, I don't really know, but I'm so excited that HBP will be like a romantic comedy...it's like a shipper's dream!!!!

I think it would be good if they had Harry, Hermione and Ron all talking about something in the common room, and Dan just sort of zones out and starts staring at Ginny and right when she looks at him, Ron or Hermione says "Harry? Are you even paying attention?" and Harry shakes his head and turns to them and says something like "yeah been listening the whole time" and then Ron and Hermione share a look that says "yeah right"! I know another HG moment from DH. Basically it's the whole lead-up to the wedding at the begining, and Harry ends up jamed at the table next to Ginny, and as they're so lose to gether "He had such a hard time trying to avoid brsuhing her arm, he could hardily cut his chicken".
I officially love that saying, because it really shows Harry inner-teenager. That he really is like a normal person. Plus the fact that he's uncomfotable around Ginny (who wouldn't in that situation) and is all:
Don't brush arm ... don't brush arm ... enthasis on
don't brush ARM! Holy, i just touch her, oh Merlin-wait, must eat chicken-
i touched her arm again!
Haha, i crack myself up ...

harry wasnt really interested in her that time i dont remember who he was though. but i know that ginny loved him most DEFINITELY in CoS and now in HBP they are super cute together

the ron & lavender scenes in the movie will be EXCITING i bet

they are really cute together but hermione & ron are cuter

i wonder what happened to lavender when ron & hermione got married in the epilogue? anyway i dont think it matters, because remmeber ron broke up with lavender and she didnt talk to him since.. lol

And then in HBP he says he would have known sooner...they could have had ages... but fortunately, they end up getting MARRIED!
I just found this Bonnie Wright and Katie Leung interview on a HG site, and I thought you HG shippers like me would like to read it...so I'll post it!
QUOTE
To go from being the Weasley's shy little sister to stealing Harry Potter's heart is one of the greatest challenges for actress Bonnie Wright.
Ginny, who is played on screen by Bonnie Wright, will become one of the main characters in the last two movies; Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and will be the lucky girl to kiss Potter this time.
"It's very exciting and I really enjoyed my character. I'm sure it's going to be very gratifying now that Ginny is playing such an important role in the story and in Harry's life. It's going to be very interesting to watch," she explained in a recent interview that took place during the OotP dvd launch.
The actress, who has been in all five movies so far, said she will probably feel nervous when the moment comes for her to shoot important scenes or when the wizard gets to kiss her.
However, she assured us that, just as her co-star Katie Leung -who plays Potter's first crush, Cho Chang-, she will overcome her nerves and perform the scenes, especially when the time comes for her to kiss the young Potter.
"Maybe when the moment comes to shoot it I'll be nervous, but right now I'm feeling fine. I think Katie did it too well (the kiss in the fifth movie), it was a great moment.
Katie was under a lot of pressure, but she stayed positive. There's always a concern about whether you're going to be good in the scene, and I think she was, because I enjoyed it very much and it looked great. Now that it's my turn I hope there won't be as much pressure when the moment comes, but at least I got one (kiss)", she commented.
Katie Leung, who will be reprising her role as Cho Chang in the sixth movie, told us she was sure that Bonnie will play the part of Harry's new love flawlessly and, far from feeling sad about her character not being as important in the wizard's love life, she said she was very grateful for the oportunity she had been given, because even though she wasn't an actress she managed to beat 3000 other girls to the part.
"The famous kissing scene in this movie (Order of the Phoenix) was very hard to shoot because we had to repeat it over and over again and there were cameras at every angle, and everyone wanted to see it. Mi character has played her part and played it well, and now it's Ginny's turn, just as it happens in the books. I think her character deserves Harry's love, and Bonnie has done an excellent job playing her", said Leung who's studying photography and plans on following her career as an actress.
And I also found this quote from Dan in another interview:
QUOTE
Reporter: In the last movie there was a lot of attention paid to your kiss and now the first kiss of Harry. And now going into the sixth movie, if memory serves, it's Ron who gets all the hot make-out sessions, so are you teasing him a little bit?
Dan: Well yeah, I get a kiss in this one, I kiss his sister!
I can't wait!!!

christen, i like to think that Ron and Hermione got over the Lavender scenario. I can actualy imagine them inviting her to the wedding. Oh god, imagine that "Does anyone wish these two not be joined in holy matonomy?" "Omigod, Won-Won, i still love you!"
Then the Weasley can all launch themselves at her, and she can be dragged away. All adds to the drama, you know ...
PS. Awsome quotes Cristi. I am going to luuurve HBP. (that's if they do it right)(They'd better).

christen, i like to think that Ron and Hermione got over the Lavender scenario.
(that's if they do it right)(They'd better).

yeah i do think too, hahaa so funny! and ron goes "ch no way, get out of this wedding "lav-lav" because im with hermione now" and the reciter goes "you may kiss the bride" so ron kisses hermione, and lavender runs off crying, haha so funny!
anyway harry and ginny forever!

Finished with OotP- onto HBP!
Ginny adores him so much. I still think the bit in the last chapter about their eyes catching and Ginny turning away with a grin isn't just because of Hermione's comment. Partially, yes. But she also still adores him. I didn't noticed it the first couple (er- few) times I read OotP, but Harry's love for her really starts then, though he doesn't realize it. it's so sweet!
I think the kiss in DH was a little lame, though....I wish it were better...
