But Harry and Ginny could easily use Quidditch to bond over all sort's of stuff. They're both quite compeditive, and i'm seeing a show-down type thing in my mind (Which i assure you, isn't as suggestive as getting the robe off).

Yes! I totally get what you are saying! Gotta show the awesome, fun side of Harry/Ginny (like Qudditch, and the tattoo discussion), and the serious side (DD's funeral breaking up thing) like not being a 'fun time' and that's it or anything. I do, however, think there should be some Cho. Because OotP sort of let it fall short. HBP needs to explain that, or the people who don't read the books are gonna be kinda confused!

Yes I know. She is going to be in the movie (it has been stated) so I hope they do a good job at letintg the other fans know that Cho was just a passing fancy really. She was Harry's first kiss (I personally loved that kiss...even though I'm not a Harry/Cho fan...imagine Harry/Ginny! SQUEE!) but Ginny my dear friends was Harry's first and only love. Now, I, before I started reading the books (because I first saw the movies...the books weren't that big in my school...i know! that's horrible!) It didn't come as a surprise to me actually; I was like...huh, it fits. I started thinking of how much of a perfect couple they were and that if Ginny and Harry didn't marry or something, something very bad was going to happen to Jo Rowling...anyways moving on xD!

Angelica, i have converted people into HG shippers as well-namely, my sister. I read the books to her, as she is dyslexic, and when i was reading HBP to her for the first time, i was all "Oh my god, can you believe Harry fell for Ginny? That's awesome, eh?" and she'd agree every time, until eventually when we got to DH, she was "Ok tell me-does Harry stick with Ginny in the end?" Obviously i couldn't tell her, but i was so glad i could give her a happy ending. Harry and Ginny deserve that much after all they went through.

And that was a ramble and a half.

I hope they show HG as fun as well as serious (which are kind of opposites, but that's besides the point). Most people keep forgetting that HG did have a few weeks together to just be together, and that they could just have "Happy hours" and "*Study* sessions". Lol.

I didnt squee when i saw the HarryCho kiss in OotP-i was cracking up laughing. I tend to do that. Whenever there is an on-screen kiss, i just crack up laughing. Consider it a weird habit of mine.

Yes! I was the same way! I didn't read any of the HP books until after I saw PoA. Andthen I started the books with PoA, too (I know, I'm messed up, but we didn't have the others!). By then I was already all for Ron/Hermione but didn't really think about Harry's realationships. Then I read OotP, and went crazy when I read the bit about Harry and Cho kissing (because I was like that then- I've grown allot...kind of... ). But Harry/Ginny kinda snuck up on me, honestly. But I've loved it ever since Harry has been all 'I like her...no I don't...yeaaa...I do...' I do believe I wrote a script about this...something along the lines of...

Harry: *thinking* She's Ron's sister. I love her like a sister. I was being protective and, and...alright, so I like her. But I can ignore that. Just don't look at her directly. Like the sun!
Ginny: *walks past* Hi Harry!
Harry: *thinks* God the sun is pretty...

YES! But the fact that they were able to have 'moments out of a normal person's life' (as Harry described it) together and be fun and not care was because they're so seriously in love! Harry couldn't relax around anyone else like he could with her. Not in that way.That's why they're so perfect. Because she gets him to let go. And he gets her to calm down.

Haha yes! I totally agree with that! I mean, they had so little time together, but they used the most out of them. They should really show that in the movies: that Harry is more relaxed around Ginny than anyone else. He lets her see the real him and that's really something for Harry.

Miss, i do remember that! That's one of the things i liked about HG in HBP-Harry's constant denial. Coming from personal experience, denial doesn't last very long. And poor Harry had t go and fall in love with Ginny of all people. I kind of felt sorry for him.

HG would take a bit of getting used to for Ron. And all of the Weasley's, i suppose. But they love Ginny, and they love Harry, so in the end, they love Harry and Ginny together. Perfect match, really. I don't think Ron would trust Ginny with anyone else. I can so see Ron threatening to punch Harry if he hurt Ginny one they got married or something, but everyone would crack up laughing (See Ross about Monica and Chandler from "Friends")(Again with the Friends references).

I think we need a new question: Why were all of Harry and Ginny's children named after people Harry knew? Why did Ginny let him name the children?

In my opinion, Harry chose James Sirius. His dad and godfather he'd want to honour. Ginny knew Sirius too, and eveyrone liked him. I don't find it that weird if Ginny picked Sirius and Harry picked James, but i think harry picked both:

Ginny: So have you thought of any names?

Harry: Well ... i did have one in mind ... oh, no it's weird ...

Ginny: Come on, you have to tell me now.

Harry: Oh all right: James Sirius Potter.

She may have respected him, and thought he needed remembering, and Snape was the only person nobody ever cared died, besides Harry.

With Lily Luna ... either of them could think of a name. Hary picked James and inny picked Albus, so they decided to share-Harry got Lily, and Ginny got Luna.

Well, I think that Harry chose James Sirius (for obvious reasons) and I think that Ginny let him have the honor.

Now, Albus Severus...I think either one of them could've chosen that name. Maybe Ginny chose Albus and Harry chose Severus. Now Moon, I know that Snape treated Harry badly but I don't think he was all that bad. Snap (yes Snap xD) that is. He was acting on orders after all (and even though he was a git, oh I hate him lol) he wasn't a bad man. I think more people would have cared for him (after all the truth came out) because people did trust him and were accountainces with him. The point is that I think Harry picked Severus.

I think Ginny picked Lily because she wanted to have Harry's mother remembered too, and I think she also picked Luna. Luna was very good friends with both Harry and Ginny, so I think that wouldn't be a problem.

I think the reason that it's all people Harry knew...well you're forgetting that Ginny knew them also (well...not Lily and James...) but the rest. They all contributed in Ginny's life also, so I don't think that Harry chose them all. He would've told Ginny to chose names too!

Hmm i guess in a way the comedy thing will be good, but i never really thought of Harry's inner battle about Giiny being that comical, i could feel his frustration. I think its important that they acknowledge the Dark tone of the book, Voldemort is getting stronger, people are dying, this has to be paid attention to as much as the relationships. I wasnt too enthused by Yates saying they were going to do one scene which wrapped up the "Voldemort gaining power" thing but hey...
I am looking forward to the Ron/Lavender/Hermione/McLaggen love square though, i think that will be very funny...

Pheonix Lament, Yates doesn't mean that Harry's internal battle is funny (because it isn't. he gets frusturated because of everything that's happening) but you've got to remember that HBP is overall a lighter book than the rest (except the end...because Dumnledore dying...NO! anyways...) so that mean that the film is going to be lighter as well (also funny, because HBP has some funny moments). There have to be those darkish moments though (maybe during the classes with Dumbledore?).

Cristi and Angelica, i'm glad you agree. I've seen people who have argued that it's weird how Ginny just let Harry name all the children, but i agree Angelica-Ginny kenw all (but James and Lily) as well. She might have been good friends with Sirius, and resected Dumbledore, like i said.

Ooh, Cristi! Where do you find all this HBP news? That's made me excited for HBP (and i've been reletively calm up until this point, amazingly).

HG i see as pertly comic, but also serious as well. HG isn't HG without the angst, i suppose, but in HBP, like we've discussed, HBP was about the fun in the relationship.

Why did Ginny let Harry name the children, if he picked them all.

I don't think he picked them all. I can see him thinking of the name James, and Severus. I can see Ginny suggesting Sirius, and him wondering why, because she didn't know him well, and her reassuring him that she knew Sirius loved him.And that Sirius was a good man, even though she didn't see him much. I can see her suggesting Lily Luna, too. She'd say Lily because they already had a James ("But that would be weird, wouldn't it? I mean, my parents were like, together-" Harry would protest at first), and Luna because Luna is awesome. Albus might've been either. But probably Harry. I don't think Ginny would mind, though.

On the contrary, i would say she did know him quite well, and she saw him a lot. They spent the whole summer together at the beggning of OOTP, then they spent christmas together in OOTP again, at Grimauld Place.

I think when Harry and Ginny first talked about kids, he would have said "i would like to name them after my parents" and she would have agreed right away, knowing it was much more important to harry to name them James and Lily than for her to name them Arthur and Molly for instance. As for Albus i think they would have come up with that together, but Severus would be Harry's idea.

I get the feeling Ginny would have wanted to name one of them Fred, but we know from JK Rowling: A Year in the Life that George named his son after Fred, which i presume was before HArry and Ginny had kids. Just my thoughts though

I agree-Ginny would probably want to name her child Fred. But as i imagine Fred and Roxanne to be reletively young out of the Weasley spawn, she and Harry would agree that that honor should go to George. Maybe she should have named him AlFRED or FREDerick?

I also agree that Harry and Ginny would discuss wanting to name their children after his parents before hand-so, i'm just going to create alist of who i think made up the names:

James-Harry

Sirius-Ginny

Albus-Ginny

Severus-Harry

Lily-Harry

Luna-Ginny

I never really liked Snape that much from books 1-5 and in the th one, i didn't like him even more. But after reading DH, i felt sorry for him, and kind of respected him. No one deserves to die like that. That's why i think Harry made Albus after him. Ginny would think it was totaly weird, but see his reason.

But anywho, question: As most of us didn't see HG coming in HBP, what was it that actualy made you like the idea (Because there were some people who didn't like it, and some who just don't like Ginny).

For me, it was just because i has shipped HG for years, subcounciously, before i even knew what shipping was. I thought it was an interesting plot line, and come HBP, i get my wish.

I think what made me approve was a sudden realization that this was a relationship that worked. A lot of people have misunderstood and debated Ginny's character, and I realized that her character, her personality, were just something that had I unconsciously remembered. I've always been a bit deductive. I just subconsciously realized as I was reading HBP that a Harry/Ginny relationship was perfect.

Besides, I support whatever is canon. When I was thirteen, I myself thought it would be Harry/Hermione, but that was just me being logical. I didn't consider romance much then, and when I thought of Harry possibly falling in love, Hermione was naturally the first girl to come to mind. This was when Goblet of Fire was just barely released, so there wasn't much visible evidence for anything but Ron/Hermione. (And that didn't really occur to me either; I was thirteen and I hardly cared for romance at the time.)

But when Order of the Phoenix was released, and I read it, I considered Harry/Hermione again, and said, "Nah. It's not going to be Harry/Hermione. It's definitely Ron/Hermione." And I was okay with that. When Half-Blood Prince was released, I fully expected the big romance to be Ron/Hermione. Harry/Ginny hadn't even occurred to me. But when I read it, and the H/G started, even though it hadn't occurred to me, I wasn't that surprised. Maybe Harry/Ginny had already made sense to me somewhere in my subconscious.

Anyway, I compared it to Harry/Cho and to the hypothetical Harry/Hermione I had previously considered, and I realized that Harry/Ginny worked far better than either. So I fully support Harry/Ginny.

So that's my story. Anyone else?

When I first started reading HBP, I didn't care much about romance. I only knew RHr would happen and didn't stop to think about Harry's love life after Cho. HBP made me a shipper actually (besides a crazy fan!). I must admit, at first I wasn't very fond of HG, I mean, I didn't dislike Ginny (not at all!) and I wasn't angry about her getting together with Harry, but I didn't like this ship as much as I liked RHr. And then, suddenly, I started loving this ship. Don't ask me how because I have no idea, I just did. Not a very interesting story, I know

I think I unconsciously had Ginny/Harry in my mind since CoS. I've never seen Harry/Hermione together, but I always knew he had to end up someone other than Hermy. But I was young then and didn't really bother for romance. I know that alot of people still like Cho/Harry, but I never really liked it much either. I mean, all she did was cry (but I guess she was a good person; once the crying subsided of course). Anyways, I just love this ship so much...gah, idk why lol. I guess it's also that it worked. I realized they were perfect for each other: he needs someone who can is able to be Harry Potters girlfriends and all the responsibilities that come with it (ha, my mom said that). He also needs someone who can match his power. Hermione might be smart, but she;s no as powerful as Ginny. And there are more reason...hey we should start that reason thing like in the RHr forum!

Why are Ginny/Harry perfect for each other?

My opinion on Snape is as such: He's a jerk. But he's also smart, on the good side, and in love with Harry's mum. But still a jerk. He's got his reasons, yes. Difficult child life, teased, bitter for various reasons, and had a hard life in general. Very hard. But he was still a bit of a jerk....

ANWAYS! To the question! Um..well. I liked how he loved her basicly from the second he had feelings for her. And how sweet they were, I mean...come on. The difference between how he reacted to Cho and Ginny was HUGE. And they were all cozy and stuff...aw....

I agree, I mean, I was sorry for him and he made me sad in "The Prince's Tale" chapter. But he was still very mean, and if it wasn't for his love for Lily, he would actually be evil. I don't know, I'm just not his fan.

Hey, we have not posted in a very long time here, HG-ers! Well, like I said in the RHr thread, there's a rumor going on that the HBP trailer will be released with Prince Caspian. I hope it's true, and if it isn't, then I hope it is released with a movie that comes out earlier than PC. So, do you think they'll include the kiss in the trailer? Just like they did with Harry/Cho?
