Ok, so i thought h/hr would be good in book 1, (though it took me a long time to get to read from start to finish as i was quite young and doidn't like reading, so i would start read 3 chapters not read for a month then go back to it and forget what happened so start all over again!!!)

Then i was like aww... it was sweet when Ginny gave him the valentine and get well card (get well card in boom 2? not quite sure). But anyway i was like it would be nice but i doubt it will happen she was a bit weird sometimes and harry probably thought so too!

Book 3 i wasn't quite sure, i was torn! Then i saw film 3 and i was like h/hr! Book 4 & Film 4 was the same.

Book 5 i felt hg definitely, there were lovely scenes of just hg and i loved it.

Then book 6 when i found out harry fancied ginny i was like get lost dean and ginny get some sense knocked into you, dump him and let you be 'free' for harry to swoop in!

Then he did, and when i read he kissed her i had to read that bit about 4 times, it wouldn't sink in, i was befuddled! I just didn't think it would get to happen, i was thinking something massive would happen and stop it.

It was brilliant though and i was well pleased.

Actually, till HBP, I had not a clue about what was gonna be with Harry's love life. I thought "Poor Harry, after that huge deception with Cho and he's alone, and what if Ron and Hermy get together and he's alone, no he can't be alone, who's the girl?!"
And well, I realised Ginny talked in a different way with him since GoF and she wasn't so clumsy with him anymore, but was a shock to find out the littlest of the Weasleys was so .. .attractive? for the guys and that the reason of that change of mind was that she was dating someone. I liked H/G all the way back when I first read CoS, and I continued to like Ginny all through the series. Though I didn't have that much hope for H/G, I'll admit. And I did want things to work out for Harry with Cho because he seemed to really like her. I really don't think that I would have minded that much if Harry ended up with someone other than Ginny, but not Cho. She was shown too selfish. But I'm very happy that he ended up with Ginny because she's so fiery and she doesn't roll over for him like he had to many people do before in his life I think.

Well, I must admit I never really cared about couples and people and stuff, until I started going really obsessed and I joined the forums on this site. When I got into discussions. Then I realized, hey, Harry and Ginny really annoy me! And Ron and Hermione are adorable together! And so are Harry and Ginny, for some reason! So I was just like... okay, another couple. Whatever. But now I'm fine. There's still that annoying bit about how he's always going on about how pretty she is, though. But it's fine. H/G all the way!

Wings, I don't know if Harry is supposed to be good-looking or not, but for me Dan is the only Harry I can picture. And he, along with Rupert and Emma, are getting better and better with their acting, and they're able to portray a really really good trio. Maybe the picture is not very flattering, but at least that horrid Ootp hair is gone

Cristi, i have my own Harry in my head, and i think he's better-looking that Dan. But then again, any fictional guy in my head is god-looking, so maybe that's not a good example ... ah well. Ginny's lucky, either way. She gets the saviour of the wizarding world.

But that's one thing i like about Ginny (this has probably been discussed before, so i'll be brief). She doesn't really care that Harry has to save the world, but she still acknowledges it. Like she knew Harry'd go off on his own some day to defeat Voldemort, so she didn't make him run off, while she sat there, kicking and screaming. She allowed him to go, because she knew he wouldn't settle for anything less. But then, she never allowed their relationship in HBP (that i know of) to be controled by the war. Knowing it couldn't last, she didn't let that bother her and she just went with it, knowing it'd probably hurt when he left. (I'm just assuming here, but that's what i've gathered).

I think as Ginny grew up hearing stories about the wonderful hero, Harry Potter, she must've fallen in love with the idea of having a hero there to save you. When she finally got to meet him, she couldn't believe she was meeting an actual hero-the saviour of the wizarding world and all that.

Then we all know she grew up and saw Harry for what he really was-just Harry. The good ol' HG we all know and love.

Aw, yes, I think it was maybe like that. Ginny heard all the time about the Boy Who Lived, and then she just saw him and ... woow. She was a kid, it was like Superman, or Superwiz? (I don't really think a kid should fall in platonic love with Superman; he's not even cute, but it was just for the purpose, ok? ) But later, Harry Potter .. . spent a summer with the Weasleys! A whole summer! And the very same year, he saved her life! Her life! (ok, I'm being too enthusiastic and I should shut my trap now before you shut me)
Ginny grew and grew, Harry grew too, and he kept spending summers at the Burrow, and well, Ginny found out who the really Harry was! If Harry would have turned to be a prat like Draco (sorry Draco lovers), she wouldn't have loved him for much famous he were. I bet she definitely found who he was when he saved her life, so her love was true and pure.

I am loving how this scene is described. Sure, it's not in the books, but as it's HG, i think i can live with that. I think based on what he's describing, this scene is very important, like it's the main HG scene, other than the kiss. So we know what the Almost-Kiss/Shoelace scene is all about.

Completely agree with you, guys. I loved that scene at the library, when Ginny says "Are you listening to me or not?" And she listens to him, she talks with him and gives him advice. That shows us she grew, and she was and is more than mature as to work with Harry a relationship beyond the hero image. She could see beyond that image, and ... Ginny's all Harry needed!

Agreed! If Ginny hadn't gotten over the worshipping thing, then she would've never gotten the confidence to actually listen to him and kick the emo-ness out of him. She would still behave like the little girl in CoS, and it is clear that at some point she got over Harry, or accepted the fact that it wasn't going to happen. By HBP the feelings she had for him weren't "ZOMGHARRY!THEBOYWHOLIVEDMARRYME!" anymore but they turned to see the real person he was, Boy-Who-Lived aside. To really appreciate him for who he was as a person, not as the savior of the Wizarding World. And maybe that's how the crush turned into something deeper.

If there wasn't evidence for Ginny growing out of her little hero-worship crush in CoS, I probally wouldn't like this ship, maybe even be against it. But Ginny wasn't so simpering moron who giggled on the side lines waiting for Harry to notice her, nor did she dazzle him with a smile so he became mindlessly obessed with her. She did what was best for her, going out with other guys. She didn't wait around, though she always had hope. But I think we really get the feeling that Ginny would have been just fine with out Harry. One of the many reasons I'm glad that he got with her, she knows how to stand on her own.

That's actually a beautiful way to put it. Thinking about it, i'm loving HG more now. How it turned from some silly celebrity crush, to Harry wishing he could be with her, needing her. During CoS, her crush was pretty evident, but during the next books it is clear that she grew up and out of it. She was never a Romilda-like person, the craziest thing she did was, in my opinion, sending him the valentine, right? Yeah, Ginny's crush on Harry around the time of PS/CoS/PoA seemed to come off more as a sweet little girly crush than pathetic, fan girlish, or crazy and obessive. And especially since we had characters like Colin Creevy to compair her to, he followed Harry around all the time and gawked at him, Ginny never did.

It would've been interesting if Ginny did a Romilda and slipped a love potion into his food. Course there's always that theory, but that's silly in my opinion (but we've discussed that in detail before, so i'll shut up). I agree the craziest thing was probably the valentine, but she had to do something. Well, she didn't, but think it was brave of her. Especially after what happened.

I can't think of other couples, because i can't really think of a couple where the main character get with his best friends sister. Maybe everything these days is all about being in love with your best friend? Hmmm ...

Well I guess that six degrees thing is really true. But I had a moment a bit like that at Barnes & Noble. I was buying the 25th volume of InuYasha and the first volume of Trinity Blood, finally ^.^, and the person who checked me out asked me if I like anime. I said that I liked manga better, but yeah, in general, anime is cool. And she said that she's part of some anime club that meets in Milwaukee, remember I live in Wisconsin. My cousin was telling me about her friend she hung out with the other day who was talking about the same club, he name was Diego. So I asked the check out girl if she knew him, and she did!

I’m thinking Harry, because he never really got the chance to take care of anyone. He was ignored by the Dursleys and then when he got to Hogwarts it was Ron, Hermione, later Sirius, and the Weasleys who took care of him. So I think that he would love the chance to get to do that.

Second question, from the Epilogue, they seemed to live not too close to Ron and Hermione, but most likely in London, close to the Ministry. Both Harry and Ron needed to drive car to the station, so it should be within the city or around it.
Third question, the one that can be spontaneously caring is Ginny. Remember how she brought her get-well card to Harry early on.

Oh, yes, I agree with Ellen. It's like in PS, when Harry shared his food and thought it was nice, because he had never had nothing and nobody to share with. And as Ginny got the job in a Quidditch team first, maybe he was worried all the time for her, being apart and all, but not so worried, because he knows Ginny is very tough. And when Harry got some mission as Auror, Ginny was the worried, and I can see her and Hermione together, peering through the windows with the hope of seeing them coming back unninjured.

Ah, Dess! Now that you mention it, Ross and Rachel remind me of Harry and Ginny (Oh now, here comes the Friends references again). Rachel and Ginny both have a forceful personality, went out, split up, but got back together, despite the odds.

Humm, Rachel and Ross always reminded me more of Ron and Hermione, since they hung around for a while and are always fighting, but you know, yesterday I saw a chapter when Rachel broke with an horrible guy and Ross came to console her ... that's definitely more HG-ish, since Ron would never bear that. I think it is a great look-a-like couple and he 'saves the world' doesn't he? So it's close, along with the red hair for ginny, and the glasses for harry.

I never looked at Ross/Rachel that way, I mean, when it comes to comparing it to H/G. But you're right, it does fit that way. Ross/Ginny's longing, Rachel/Harry's oblivious-ness, Ross/Ginny's moving on, Rachel/Harry's sudden realize and new romantic feelings.

The Ross/Rachel Harry/Ginny comparison i find rather funny as Harry's Rachel, and Ginny's Ross. But it works, and i like it. It's amazing the references we can pull out from Friends.

Does anyone think Harry always had a sort of soft spot for Ginny? I mean, he most likely knew about her crush on him in the early years, but he didn't tease her of anything. He mostly acted nice to her, and went and saved her from the CoS. And i also remember Harry being mortified at the fact that he was going to be delivered a singing valentine in front of her.

I'd find it sweet, if Harry always really cared for her. He just didn't see it until it was too late to act on it. That raises another question-if Harry had seen the light and realised his feelings while Ginny was actually availible, would he have acted on them? I like to imagine he probably would've dithered about for a million years, remembering what a fiasco Cho was. I can so imagine Harry attempting to do something nice for her, and it turning into a total mess. Ah, poor awkward!Harry.

Does anything/other couples remind you of HG?

I guess looks wise, I can see how spiderman/mj, would remind some people of it, and vaugue details of their personalities as well. However, I don't see that much resemblance. I think that maybe they share a few limited details with other fictional couples, but they are quite unique. No other couple could ever really compare to them.


Why did Harry and Ginny decide to name their children after other people, instead of using different names?

Ginny seems like a very personal person, as well as someone who would take the death of someone close to her very hard, without letting it show. I also agree that she would probably be the one to suggest it. It makes perfect sense to use their children as a memorial for their lost loved one [wow that sounded awful, they USE their children lol]. I think it was a great idea, whoever did decide it.


Where to Harry and Ginny live? Godric's Hollow? Across the road from Ron and Hermione's? In some Muggle town?

I can see Harry wanting to be as far away from muggle towns as possible, and since Ginny grew up with magic everywhere, I think she would prefer to stay close to that as well. I can see both Ron and Hermione, and Harry and Ginny all living close to the Burrow. I mean, far enough away that they have their own privacy, but close enough that they can visit any time they please.


Which one is more over-protective when the other is sick or hurt?

I absolutely completely agree with you, Harry, in my opinion is completely WHIPPED, and would probably be at her beck and call constantly. Ginny would be sympathetic and caring, but a lot more laid back and casual about it. Completely agree with the last post with this Q and A.

I'm guessing Grimauld Place would have to be completely re-vamped in order for Harry and Ginny to live there. I wouldn't have thought Harry would live there again, but then DH came out. I'm guessing they'd live in a completely new area, to start with their new lifes.

i think there's still a strong possibility that HG will live in Grimmauld Place, after all, he does own the house. Although he does have a lot of money, I think Harry would be too cheap to go buy a house somewhere else when he already has a big one for free. It sure would need a lot of work though.

as for the kiss, i'm frigging excited. i wanna see it so badly, but the only thing is that i'm afraid once i see it, then a little bit of the mystery of their relationship might be gone for me =[, i really hope not though. i really want a dp of it, but then i think a lot of us HG shippers might have the same avatar and that would be kinda weird haha.

I think that maybe Harry, has he had a lot of money, besides between he's and Ginny's jobs, I'd like to start a new life, from the beggining; I mean, despite he could think of Grimmauld Place like a home after a while, maybe he wanted to leave everything related with his past behind. Grimmauld Place, behind any improvement you can do it, it can turn out to be charming, but it's still a dark house, previously inhabitated by dark people, the house the imprisoned Sirius and I don't think Ginny or Harry would want to raise their kids in a dark wizards' house.

I think Harry could buy a house in the outskirts, so they are in contact with nature and have a quiet life. I don't believe he's that cheap.

I really hater to say this but it is somethign that just popped into my head while searching for the pic. I know we all love the couple hg, i mean we have all expressed it clearly, but what if we are disappointed with the way they show it? What if,when we get the trailer and the actual film, we end up hating the way they have done it and it totally gets us down? We have all hyped it up, not just us though i might add, and what if it isn't nothing that we imagined or wanted it to be like?
I hate what if questions but it has to be asked.

Oh, don't feel bad about it, Rachel! If they let us down in any way with the movie, we still have our wonderful book and imagination to keep our good thoughts! I dont think they will make us hating it. I mean, it's a good director, Yates, and I'm sure it won't be like the HC business.
