This thread is supporters only for H/G's - it is not an excuse to start bashing other ships or poking fun at the people who support them.

The ONLY thing that you may talk about here is the H/G ship, and that's it. No other ships, no other shippers.

It is a condition of this thread remaining open that EVERYONE takes the time to read the notes about the Ships forum here before posting.

If you want to debate, then apply for membership to the Great Hall. Otherwise, this is H/G only.

Mistress of Magic
Fellow Chocolateers!

I cannot begin to describe how much I love this book. Although H/G maybe wasn't as big a part of hte book as we may have hoped, it turned out all right in the end. I just wanted to say how awesome I think it is that we all stood steadfast, true and faithful to the wonderful ship that is Harry and Ginny. It has been an honour to call myself a crewmate of the HMS Chocolate, and I'm sure that you all feel the same way.

To those Chocos who may not have finished Deathly Hallows, I urge you to keep reading, and to disregard the letters below. To those who have, I leave you with these letters, and I hope that you understand their meaning.

Any idea how to do the little "spoilers" link you have guys? I want to post but i don't want to give anything away

Overall I'm happy with the book, extremely happy, but i don't want to say anything for fear of spoiling. I will say though that was important as Ginny was To Harry in this book i really think she deserved some more of a role in this book. Jo more talked about her than interacted with her.

Spoiler tags are easy:
[*spoiler] blah blah, Harry gets blown up by a pipe bomb [*/spoiler] take out the *.
I hope JK fills out all the loose end with that encyclopedia book that she has talked about writting. Just give away all the [edit] that doesn't really matter, like every one's patronus, boggart, job...maybe even a Black family tree.
Okay, on topic

Hey guys, Please remember to put spoiler tags around everything that has to do with DH. We won't be allowing spoilers out in the forums that aren't DH for a while, so whole posts may be in tags. Just keep putting those tags on and everything will be fine.

omg i totally agree that they belong together. ever since they met i wanted them to end up together! i love the fact that
» Click to Show Spoiler - Click Again to Hide... «
but i think that harry mightve rushed into it a little bit because he never really had a girlfriend. i mean ginny was his first REAL girlfriend because that thing with cho in either OoTP or HBP lasted only one date. ginny on the other hand knew what it felt like to be in love so im sure they really were in love. they are the cutest couple!!

Amyrat151
For those who care to know, I started writing a fic about three years ago about R/Hr's and G/H's kids at Hogwarts, I stoped in the middle of a sentence but I'm seriously thinking of picking it up again. No lame names I promise, Droobs. I named them all after Shakespear characters.
Welcome dumbledoresgirl<3*s_harry, and yes the ending was lovely.

Just the Droobles
I really don't think it matters that Ginny was only Harry's second girlfriend. Sometimes, you just meet one you like. Ask my parents. They weren't big daters either, and they've hit 25 years now. So...I guess whatever works.

Haha, that's good Ellen. As far as stories go, names can be a real killer for me. But I guess I just have to accept the ones in the epilogue. rolleyes.gif laugh.gif
Potterfan7
Let me just say that it was meant to be and that it could not have been any other way. I am really happy my whishes came true and I just can't wait for the encyclopedia because it might actually fill in some wholes with like dates and other fun stuff.
Amyrat151
How about names like Antony, William, Micheal, Orlando, and Juliet? I gave Ginny and Harry six kids, they had a few more, but I scaled it back. I just had a lot of fun developing this kids that I couldn't ex the 6 I really liked.
A lot has been said about Ginny and that's she a lot of bad things, mostly in HBP. That's an insensitive person, who jinxes people because she can, and made Harry drink love potion to get him to have feelings for her. The only time she's jinxed anyone in HBP is Smith who clearly enjoys getting a rise out of Harry and the Weasleys. The twins and Ron also threatened to jinx him before, so it's not like Ginny sending batty bogeys at him came as a big surprise. She does yell at Hermione when Hermione was doing one of the many things she does well, nag Harry. Hermione was bursting to tell Harry I told you so about the prince book, which she was doing through her nags, adding to Harry's guilt, and Ginny cut Hermione’s guilt trip off. Hermione's nags often falls on deaf ears, Harry almost never heeds what she says because he just does what wants. Ginny gets that, Hermione doesn't.
The love potion thing is completely ridiculous of course for several reasons. We saw in Ron what people are like under a love potion, all he could think about was the object of chosen affection. Harry was able to think about what Snape is up to, how to defeat Voldemort, and Malfoy well he was crushing on Ginny. Not to mention all the every stuff of Quidditch and homework.
barnyweasley
i absolutely love the H/G relationship, its perfect
although i do wish j.k. rowling added more details on them and their times together
i think that ginny and harry were made for eachother, because thier personalities match so well. i think that ginny's fierce, loving and passionate personality is so good for harry, seeing that he lacked those very tihngs from his childhood, and growing up.
cristipotter
It's ridiculous thinking that Ginny actually gave Harry a love potion...it's just madness! I can't actually believe some people thought of that! JK Rowling wouldn't let HER character have romance just because of a potion...he had true feelings for Ginny because it wasn't an obsession, he was able to think of other stuff, just like Amyrat said.
And about Ginny hexing people around, she's just good at the bat bogey hex and uses it on Smith according to Amyrat because I don't really remember right now who she was hexing, because let's face it, Smith was a git! She wasn't like James Potter that hexed people when bored or something...
And I've read people complaining about her...um..."female dogness?" Because of snogging Dean and having many boyfriends? huh.gif huh? Is not like she dated half Hogwarts!

I really like Ginny, I think she is a really strong character and she's perfect for Harry! She actually helped Harry when she shouted at Hermione, because Hermione wouldn't stop her nagging him!

Go Ginny! And I really like your names better than Rose and Hugo! biggrin.gif

Thank you cristipotter, you can call me Ellen if you wish. But about her having so many boyfriends, she had two before Harry and they both lasted about a year, that only one more than Hermione. It's not like she when out with 15. And omg, a teenager kissing her boyfriend, what a shocker! I don't see the horible person some seem to think Ginny is. Honestly, do you think JK would have Harry end up with a "female dog?"
cristipotter
Hi Ellen, you can call me cristi if you wish! laugh.gif

I don't think Ginny was a "female dog"...that thought didn't even cross my mind until I read some people complaining about it...about her having too many boyfriends (Oh my God! TWO BOYFRIENDS?!) and snogging... (ok, I won't even start there)

I think Ginny's perfect for Harry, there's no one else for him. Okay, there's me...LOL just kidding smile.gif

Anyway, back to what's going on here. Ginny hadn't been out with that many boys, I mean come on - two? Give the girl a break. She liked Harry for years, but then thought she wasn't going to get any response from him so decided to out with a couple of boys in the mean time. And that's all it was, a couple of boys. Sometimes people read to much into what Fred and George say! And the snogging thing? Come on - Harry kissed Cho Chang and Ginny. Ron snogged Lavender and Hermione Hermione kissed Viktor Krum and Ron but nobody says anything about them! Geez
Amyrat151
Well according to some Hermione can do no wrong. The image of "prefect goddess" Hermione that has been created can never compare to the flawed Ginny who loved the even more flawed Harry with all her heart.
That's what I love about the Harry Potter books, it's not a fairy tale even if it is set in a world of magic and wonder. The people in there are just like the ones out here, they're capable of great good and great evil.
cristipotter
yeah, that's what I love about Harry Potter too! they are realistic people (magic, weird scars and prophecies aside) and some think that Hermione is perfect for Harry, but have you noticed how annoyed he gets by her? I mean, sometimes I'm like "Harry stop being so mean to Hermione! mad.gif" but yeah she does nag him a lot. She nags everyone around and that's one of her defects...she's not perfect! And when Harry's with her alone, he always mentions that something's missing (that would be Ron)

I have never heard such complaint from Harry about Ginny, he seems to enjoy her presence very much, with her defects and everything...he doesn't even seem to notice them! And he likes being alone with her...I'm just so happy about them!

When i first read this theory, i just had to laugh. I found it rather ... to put it nicely, "out there". Yes, Ginny is adventorous and daring-she's a Gryffindor for a reason, but i can't see her giving someone a love potion. We've been given canon evidence that Ginny never gave on him (Umhi? She said it herself. End on HBP if someone out there doesn't believe me) and when you've liked someone that long, sure, you may be desperate. But Ginny's a respectful person-she wouldn't put someone under a love potion. Who's to say she even bought one?

All this talk about Ginny being insensitive and ... well, my friend hates her (And the H/G relationship) and called her comething not fit to be said on the forums. Well, i say rubbish. I've seen Ginny described as supper!Ginny, and i have to say:

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Ginny is not acting super. She's acting herself. Ginny is the adventorous and powerful witch she is, and i'm glad she's grown from the blushing girl in CoS. She's only had two boyfriends before Harry, and that's not much conpared to some girl at my school-she has so many boyfriends, that i never know who she's going out with the next week-it's always someone different! But that's slightly off-topic.

In my opinion, Ginny is as JKR said "Harry's ideal girl". She's strong and doesn't take any nonsence from Harry and doesn't cry when he loses it (coughHermionecough). laugh.gif

Overall, H/G is perfect, and even if it isn't, well i guess i have to say too bad-it's canon. lol. happy.gif
MissRandom
Waaaait. You mean to tell me that some people think that Ginny actually slipped Harry a potion to make her like him? That's completely and utterly insane. Love potions don't act that way. Just look at Ron in HBP when he was slipped one. Totally obsessed. Harry isn't obbsessed, and never was. I just loves her.

I can't wait for Dan and Bonnie in HBP...I hope they're able to pull it off! And when they kiss, I hope it is cute, not like Harry and Cho's kiss because they looked like two sticks leaning against each other...yeah that sounds weird...

Amyrat151
cristi, it's true Harry can be quite cruel Hermione, and that's what I like about Ginny, she won't take Harry's cr*p, she also doesn't crumble under pressure as easily as Hermione.
The love potion stuff used to make me more upset then I care to say critsi, but I've really gotten past to the point of not caring. There's nothing like the validation of being right as confirmed by the Godess of creation know as JK Rowling.
I actually like Harry and Cho's kiss quite a lot, sweet with a kind of innocence a first kiss should have. Great jobs on all of Dan's, Katie's and David's parts. But yes, very much looking forward to Bonnie and Dan.
I think that Ginny felt Harry near when he walked by, and that the movie will most likely show that. I don't think it would of been...I don't know, not right, if Harry would of stopped for her. Harry knew that he had to give it all up, including Ginny to save the world.
rjj1995, I don't think JK will write more books. Harry deserved a family, that's what he got.
Moon, beautifully stated, all of it.
MissRandom, yeah I think that a kiss after the death that happened, well all the death, would of been out of place. But

Is just that I really hate Cho and I don't want Harry to kiss her mad.gif

I really loved in the Ootp book when Harry was being all "oh, I hate my life Voldemort is possesing me, and no one knows how that feels" and then Ginny just snaps him back to reality... that was really cool! tongue.gif She just won't take any of his emo-ness like Ron and Hermione do...

That was one of my favourite H/G moments. It really shows that Ginny complements Harry really well-they sort of fit. laugh.gif And if someone out there doesn't think so (coughRachelfromschoolcough) then i say: "It's canon."

Canon ... that word is so awsome ... happy.gif
MissRandom
Okay, nobody shoot me, but what in the world is 'canon'? blink.gif

I liked the end of OotP when Umbridge was in the Hospital Wing and Harry, Ginny, and Hermione were visiting Ron. There's a point where 'Ginny turned away, grinning' after they cought eyes (or something). I always thought that was a little hint to what would happen in Half-Blood Prince. And now that I've re-read it I don't think it was exactly meant to be put that way, but it brought me into the group of Harry/Ginny shippers all the same. tongue.gif

No one understands what I’m going through! ESPICALLY YOU!! Ha-ha, CAPS LOCK! Harry is so funny, fun to laugh at his crippling emotional pain.
About Cho and Harry, I don't hate Cho, I can't. I just fell really badly for her. I think that if Cedric wouldn't have died they could have been together for a nice long time; he must have cared about her greatly for her to be at the bottom of that lake. It's clear though, even if Cho and Harry went to the Yule Ball and had a real relationship for a while, Cho couldn't take being Harry's girlfriend. Everyone who gets involved with Harry's life should be given a crash helmet just for playing. Cho definitely wasn't up to stock and didn't understand the importance of Harry's job, well she did come up to stock, otherwise she won't have come back to Hogwarts, but it wasn't till Harry had long since moved on.
Oh canon, what a sweet love you have been to me, much agreed Moon.
MissRandom: Canon, in the context of a fictional universe, comprises those novels, stories, films, etc., that are considered to be genuine or officially sanctioned, and those events, characters, settings, etc., that are considered to have existence within the fictional universe. In order for a setting to appear cohesive, especially in fictions that contain multiple parts, both creators and audiences sometimes find it useful to define what has and has not "actually happened" in that universe. Items that are considered canon usually come from the original source or author of the fictional universe, while non-canon material comes from adaptations, spin-offs or unofficial items, often in different media. Fan fiction is usually an example of non-canonical fiction. -wikipedia
Non-canonical fiction is also know as "fanon"

I also loved the subtle hints that JKR gave us to Harry and Ginny's relationship in Ootp. I hadn't realized them until rereading Ootp after finishing HBP when it first came out. I also loved how Ginny helps Harry through his hard times in Ootp. It shows that she truly cares about Harry.
