I read it in about 14 hours as well!

I got home about 12:18am-2:00am and I read the first four chapters and went to bed. I got up about 7:12am and started reading right from there. I read six hours straight and had lunch. Than I went back to reading and read for another 5 hours before calling it a night. i finished the book early morning next morning. My mom couldn't believe I didn't do anything but read the book that weekend.

In line for the book at midnight i was myself that i needed to read slowly, and wait for the morning to start. [although i did read a chap. or 2 b4 bed

] But then in the morning, i got up and wanted to read, but my friends convinced me to go knee-boarding [ i was on vacation] and by then it was about 10, but before i could read we had to re-pack, so i had to postpone it AGAIN. When we were all in the car, it was about noon. I read all the way home and ended at about 8 that night. And i did read slowly. Nobody in the car coukld talk to me without slapping me first, i c!ouldnt hear them, i was so obsorbed !

All of a sudden i would burst into tears of laughter! It was preety humiliating!

I was on holiday in Spain when the book came out. I returned to the UK 24 hours after it went on sale.
I got my sister to phone me on my mobile and read me the first page right after she got the book, about 1hour after it went on sale. One page only! What a teaser!!
I managed to buy a copy of HPDH at Ibiza airport later that day (20hours after launch). I was delighted.
We got delayed at the airport ... I didnt care .. finding a wee quiet corner I read away furiously. On the plane ... I read furiously. Air turblence didnt stop me. The air hostesses were like ... oh ... we're reading that ... we had to put it down to come on shift!! There was so much excitement amoungst potter fans ... justing seeing someone else ... face buried in the book.
When i got home ... I read furiously but eventually has to give up for sleep about half way through the book ... about 4am.
I woke about 11am on the sunday ... and read non-stop till the end. I finished about 11pm. In total it took about 27 hours to read including a sleep break. JKR ... two years work ... consumed in little more than a day! But i had to get to the finish before some knucklehead on tv or radio blabbed the ending! which to be fair ... hasn't happened over here ... as far as I'm aware!!
I'm still pleasantly surprised with the ending. Counter-balanced nicely with the sense of shock and forebeoding with the books opening poems. Yet another stroke of genius.

I went and got the book at midnight, but I didn't start it until I got home just before one. I read until about seven, but then I was so exhausted, so I slept for a little over an hour. I started again around 8:20, but then my mom kept stealing the book from me and reading a chapter or two. I finished between 4:30 and 5:00 so around 16 hours. the last thing I remember is sitting down on the couch at like 7:30, I think I fell asleep sitting up I was so tired. I woke up the next day and starting reading it again, this time more slowly so I could enjoy the best parts.

Oh, gosh, I started the minute I got home, which was about 12:30 am, then read for about 3 hours, then got up early and read for a while. I would have finished it that day, but I had had a family reunion that day, so I read the last hundred and fifty pages or so the next morning. I've read it about seven or eight times since then! What can I say, it's addicting!

I've actually calculated this out for myself. It added up to about 15 hours of straight reading, only stopping for food, bathroom breaks, and sleep....and after I woke up, I started reading again!

I got my book of course at 12 am. Then, I got home but forced myself not to read it till the next day. I only let myself read two chapters a day because I wanted it to last. It was really hard! A few times I couldn't stop myslef and read one more than I should have. Then, once I was on the Battle of Hogwarts chapter, I had to keep going to the end...it was such a great book.

It took me about 12 hours, I'm not sure, because I read it 3 times in a row. Actually it's not so long, at least in here, in Finland, for a kid of my age. Someones from my class haven't still finished it, and they got the book before I did.I'm not lying, you know.

Wow! I really haven't got over there will be
NO MORE POTTER BOOKS!!! Anyway I read it in about 24 hours. I got it at the midnight party. I was about 223 in line (out of 600 or 700). I started reading it in the car. My sister and her friend fell asleep at about daybreak. I dosed a little bit still awake. I kept reading. The sun rise was pretty. I finished it around 12 a.m. Since then I have read it about 4 times (close to being 5th; I'm rereading them).

Okay, this was how how long it took me to read the final book.....
Well, I really wanted to go to the midnight release party, but my parents couldn't take me, so I went with friend and then she slept over because it was late.
So I got the book at 12:05AM. hen I had to find my friend, brother and mother (who decided to show up at 11:00PM to check out the craziness) for about 15 minutes. Then I got in the car, read the inside flap, dedication, quote-thingys in the beginning, and the first two paragraphs. I got home about 12:30AM and got a shower and hung out with my friend until about 1:00 while I tried to keep the book away from her and my brother because they wanted to read the last page aloud. Neither of them really like Harry Potter and have never read the books, so they didn't care about being spoiled. I read a chapter while my friend got a shower and then I had to wait until 2:00AM when she fell asleep to start reading because I didn't want to be rude. So then I read up until the wedding until about 4:00AM and took a three hour nap because I was making too much noise (the floor kept creaking every time I moved because I was sleeping on blankets on the ground) and kept waking my family and friend up. I wasn't tired, but I didn't want to be so tired that I'd fall asleep reading the ending. I woke up around 7 and read a couple of chapters until my friend woke up and then I hung out with her until she left around 10. I know? How could I put the book down? LOL - well, I managed to.....
Anyway, then I decided I wanted to savor the book so I read really slow and even read some chapters aloud to make it more interesting and get more into it. Plus I kind of just sat there in shock for 5-10 minutes at a time after certain parts, letting it sink in, or trying too figure something out. I took a couple of breaks to go get food and bring it to my room. And I think I upset my parents when I refused to go anywhere that day...
So, it was 8-9ishPM now and I just finish the part where they go to Gringotts and I decided to get a shower and curl up in bed to finish what I knew would be the best ending ever and I knew I wouldn't be able to pull myself away from it. So then, shaking and very scared about who would die, I sat down and read the rest of the book until about 1:00AM and then sat there in shock and had to go back and read some really good parts.
So, overall, I spread it out over 24 hours. Which seems like a long time to obsessive Hary Potter fans and I am usually a really fast reader, but I tried to go slow to spread out this amazing book so I could enjoy reading it for the first time longer. I didn't want to go too fast and not read it carefully. You only get the chance to read it for the first time. After that, you are always going to know how it ends, so I wanted to stop as I went and try to figure out some of the mysteries.
Sorry, that post was so long, I tend to ramble on certain topics....

My sister and I went to the midnight purchasing of Deathly Hallows and we waited in a huge line for an hour or so and by the time we got home, it was 2:00 a.m. and we really didn't feel like reading so we went to bed, got up at 8:00 a.m. and started reading. It took us three days to completely finish.

Wow, I didn't count the exact hours, but it was the quickest I ever read a HP book. I think I started at like 9 in the morning or something, then ended at like- 10 (pm!), I think.

So that's... 13 hours, right? Cool.

I read like- all day, and when I was almost done my eyes were closing, I was so tired, but I HAD to continue...

Although I
did take washroom, food and drink brakes! Well, it was worth the time.

I must say i feel like such a bad harry potter when i am reading everyone elses times. My sister got the book after the MIdnight maddness and it took her a while to read it. I was also on vacation in ireland (i live in nj) when i was reading, and in a room with my cousin, who hated the light. All together i read it in the time period of a little less then two weeks.

I read the book pretty quickly. A friend got it for me at midnight, because I was sadly unable to go, but as soon as I woke up, I started reading. Probably around 7:30 AM. I finished the book before 5:00, and I stopped as little as I couldl (basically bathroom breaks -- i read during meals). I loved the book, and as soon as I finished, I read my favorite parts again!!

I read it in about three days, though I normally would have read it faster. I was at a lake with my cousings and alas, we went boating and whatnot instead of spending all of the 21st reading as I would have liked... sniff sniff... but I had a fun few days at the lake! Anyhows, I finished it during the car ride home.

It took me about two days to read it. I got it at about ten and read it throughout the day, having to take breaks because of chores and stuff. If I didn't have to sleep, eat or do my chores I probably would have had it done in a day. Once I finished though I go back and reread again and again.

I finally got my hands on it a week after it came out. Some friends of ours got two copies so that they could take turns with everyone in their family reading it. They let me borrow it when almost everyone had read it. I got it in the evening and stayed up all night reading it. It took me about seven and a half hours to read. Then I re-read certain parts that I either didn't understand or just wanted to read over.

Pre-orderd and got it at 9am on 21/7/07. Read all day with eating breaks until 20 pages til the end, which we had to go out to eat. (I hated my parents for that 20 PAGES!!!!). So I finished bout 9ish, but 10 hours is more precise than 12 due to breaks and such

I had it preordered. I had to wait a bit though cause i was at summer camp for a while and missed reading it the first 5 days. I was annoyed because i was away while my sister had gone to a huge party and read it in one night there. However, almost as soon as I got home, I began reading it. I seriously could not put it down. I took breaks for meals & stuff, but overall it took me about 8 hours to read it. Now I am sad because there are no more books...

Still ive reread it about 10 times (it gets better each time)

Well I couldn't read it until three days after it came out. I was at my family reuinion and my parents knew that if I got it while we were there I wouldn't talk to anyone. So I had to wait and I drove my cousin nuts because I wouldn't shut up about how excited I was for it. But then wehn I finally got it I read it in 8 or 9 hours. Feb 21 2008, 06:59 AM
I pre-ordered the book, but I live out in the sticks so it came a day late because of our lousy postal service (it killed me!!) I read it straight through, no breaks at all. At one point I think my mother shoved a pb&j at me, which I ate (i think).
My sister got the book at the same time, and this is so funny: she and I read it at the same pace, so when something happened, she and I would have the same reaction. At one point I looked up and said "Can you believe...." and she said "I know!" before I was done, and then she said "And what about..." and I said "I know!"
I got ahead of her at one point and then someone died, and I started crying. She yelled at me because she knew something sad was coming.
I finished it about a day later, so 24-ish hours of only reading.
And then I threw the book across the room and sobbed, partly because I hated it and partly because I was so tired.

Can't really remember. Probably my total, cutting out my breaks (somewhat reluctant breaks, I might add), my total would be about 12 hours. Mind you, that's quite good for me, considering that I absorbed it all perfectly (unlike my friend, who couldn't remember what happened).
Well, I got it at 12:02 a.m., read till 2, but I was at a friend's house and her mom made us turn out the light because my friend "
just couldn't read anymore". Then I got up at eight (she didn't have an alarm clock) and read (but she kept interrupting) until about five o'clock in the evening (I took a couple of breaks, including coming back home), and then I got to the part where Remus and Tonks die.

Then I put down the book and sobbed for about an hour and a half. Then I finished it at 7:15 or so. Yup, that's my story.
